First and foremost, great haircuts. Friendly and bright people who have a wide range of interests. Went here after the worst haircut in my life (somewhere else!) and got the best haircut in my life at American Tobacco. New to area, and glad to have found a shop I trust and enjoy.

The folks at American Tobacco were gracious and nice, but I asked my barber if he had any experience cutting straight hair and he assured me that yes indeed he knew....he unfortunately was not experienced at cutting straight hair and left parts of my hair longer than others. I asked for a mid fade (up the sides and back to about mid way up) not an undercut and he went all the way up into an undercut after I clearly told him not to go up! Hair will grow back but I won’t be visiting them again!

Quality cut at an affordable price and the service was fast. I popped in during my lunch break and had enough time to eat after!

I took my one year son to get his hair cut this past Sunday morning and we had a great experience! Mr.Johnathon did an excellent job with his hair! My little guy was not fussy or annoyed throughout the duration of the cut. Maybe it was because he had two lollipops while sitting in the chair and watching the news! We will definitely come back for the great service!

Solid shave and a haircut. Ambiance is great. Tony helped me out and stayed past when he would ordinarily leave to give me a straight razor shave. Also, American Tobacco is just a really cool campus — its quickly becoming one of my favorite places in Durham, and places like this are part of the reason why. Itd be nice if theyd throw a shampoo in with a shave & haircut.

I love this barber shop. No frills, just four chairs, two TVs, and great haircuts. I dont have a specific barber I ask for as I have never received a bad haircut from any of them. Ill walk in at lunch time and usually be in a chair within 10 minutes, if not immediately. The dont take credit cards, so make sure to stop by the ATM in the American Tobacco lobby before you go.

Its kinda hit or miss depending on who you land with. I had a great haircut one time and very average the other so if you find a good one there stick with him/her

Its the place I go to get me my fresh on. This place can style some hair. Give you the care you really need. They all good like that, including this place.

Brought my 2 year old son here after he got a terrible haircut at the kids hair shop down near Target. Scotty does a great job with kids - told my son what was going to happen before he started cutting; let him hold the clippers; put Curious George on the TV to watch. Gave him a good haircut considering how bad it looked going in to the shop. If youre going to spend your money on a good haircut for your child, Scotty makes the investment worth it.

This is a traditional barber shop. Loved the straight razor shave. Great atmosphere, barbers are very talented & entertaining. Park in the south parking deck for easy access.

Got my hairs cut here twice. The first time I asked for a low fade and a trim on top. I got exactly what I asked for but didnt like it the cut. The second time I asked for a medium fade and a trim on top. The barber instead gave me an undercut (not at all what I asked for!) and left large patches of hair on the sides uncut that I had to fix myself.

I have been going there for nearly seven years. I look forward to haircuts because they do a great job and I get to spend a half hour with what I consider to be good friends.
