Updated Review: After having my initial appointment canceled and leaving the review below, Happy Home Services reached out and had a technician come to my home on the day of the original appointment to ensure they could provide the services I needed and had Anthony come back the next day to clean my dryer vent. He was courteous, professional and knowledgeable and took care of my issue quickly while also providing advice on caring for my AC system. I’m still not a fan of them canceling appointments to cater to other clients, but the service I received after the initial headache was great. You can read my original review below.Original Review: I made an appointment with Happy Home Services three weeks before they were to come to my home to do some work. The day before the appointment they said that they had VIP customers who called so they would need to reschedule my appointment and the soonest they could come would be a month later. They didn’t mention this VIP program when I made my initial appointment and basically tried to make me pay a subscription fee in order to get their services. It felt very much like a tactic to get a monthly payment instead of payment for a one time service. I don’t recommend using them and if you do, be prepared for them to cancel if you don’t purchase a VIP customer package. They won’t tell you that up front.

We have been with this company for many years and they have always taken such good care of us. Recently they came out to do regular maintenance upkeep on our system and found to have a gas leak that could’ve been a very dangerous situation for my family. I’d heard great things about Happy Home from a family member who needed A/C repair. So I contacted them when I had leak under bathroom sink. HH sent out a plumber the same day as I called. I can’t say enough positive things about the plumber- William Nolan-who quickly discovered that the 70 year-old pipes in wall were in dire need of replacing. He carefully explained my options and timeframes and costs for replacements and repairs. He was very helpful as I needed to purchase new vanity that had been ruined by leak. I’m grateful to him and Juan Lopez who finished the project within timeframe promised. I’m a more than satisfied customer because of William’s (and main office) responsive and proactive communication, outstanding customer service, and quality work!

Happy Home has taken care of our HVAC system for 5 years now. Our home is 22 years old and we have replaced the units for all three floors, most recently the basement unit. They have been professional and on time. Damon did most of the recent work and was great. I highly recommend Happy Home.

It appears that HHS changed the unit from Trane to Amana without mentioning it to me. They also said that the Seer was 15 which was a downgrade from the Trane unit. This was also not brought to my attention.

Really pleased with happy home. Our water heater wasn’t working so the technician came and found out that it was an electrical problem. Even though it was out of his scope of practice, was really helpful in getting our problem solved and answering our questions.

You always cringe when the thermostat fails to show the numbers you want for comfort. We have done business with this company for many years and company name changes. They always give us the best solutions to each problem we have encountered. This last issue resulted in a new ac unit. But they helped us select the best choice for us. They are on time, call on the way, always were shoe covers when coming in the house, and on and on. Want to feel like part of a family, call these guys. 5 star all the way !

I called happy home services because I needed my water heater repaired . The same day Juan arrived and provided me with all my options.Juan was very informative, knowledgeable and more importantly honest . He let me know my water heater was 6 years old and even though it was no longer under warranty it was still repairable . Because Juan provided me with all the information needed I decided to install an outdoor tankless, that we now love!!. After speaking to a few neighbors I found out Juan has also installed tankless water heaters for them and they are also happy .I will continue to recommend happy home services and specifically Juan as we all have been very impressed !

These guys are absolute scam. first, they said that they have to change few parts of our unit and charged us a huge amount to replace a rusted part and fill coolant. later told us we need replace the entire AC unit. when we refused to take that option, then told us AC exterior unit fan is not working and need to replace the whole unit. At this point I started doubting and told them to finish their original job and leave. same day I brought another mechanic and found, 1) these people switched off the fan and told us its broken and there was no problem at all with the unit 2) they did not fill any freon in first place but charged us around $300 for that 3) they did not change the any rusted parts except some contact at the exterior unit and still charged us close to $700. Im glad I called professional contractor for 2nd opinion else I would have lost additional $5000-$6000 for changing while the existing unit is really good and working well. I called Sears service team after few days to double check if any issues or anything to be changed. Sears team confirmed the same as the unit is good. I would advise people to be cautious with these kind of scam people and be there when the pretended repair is being done.

Happy Home Services is the best HVAC service company you can do business with. We purchases an older home and we had them come out and update both systems in our house. Very professional, polite, trustworthy and dedicated to doing it right. Eric the project manager was a great communicator and someone you can always depend on. I own a small (900 sq ft) fixer upper bungalow in downtown Durham and recently got a refinance. I called to have an estimate on full hvac replacement. I’ve done my research on national and local cost of replacing my unit with new ductwork as well. Technician came out and took one look at my home and asked me how much I had to spend. I stated the local average, the same price two of my neighbors had paid for the exact same work. He told me without examining system an amount that was double local average and thousands above the highest end of national average. Obviously a place that goes for richer clients and rakes them over the coals.

I scheduled to have a technician come to our home to service the HVAC and give a quote to replace. The appointment was set. I never received a call from the technician resulting in a no-show. If you are in need of quick service, you will not be Happy with Happy Home! Im not Happy!

They specifically mentioned Paige as a great resource and man, they werent kidding! She answered all my questions and then some. Great knowledge base in her field. I will definitely call Happy Home when I need HVAC or Plumbing services handled. If the technicians are anything like Paige, this must be one heck of a company!

Absolutely a scam.I was having issues with my AC and called to have one of Happy Homes technicians come out to service it.I was told by the tech and by John Ross the supervisor that the evaporator coil was full of holes and needed to be replaced for $3,200.I had my suspicions and got a second opinion from a different company the next day. This tech from the other company said the coil was perfectly fine and my only problem was the motor being slightly wonky and needing to be turned on and off a few times before the system would come back on.If I could give zero stars I would because this company seems to rather cheat people out of their money then actually provide a service.
