I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation for the services rendered by Chris Ballard for a repair on my John Deere LT 150. I had a former repair with another service provider that went wrong. When I brought the John Deere LT 150 into your shop, Chris was patient, prompt, and professional in the way he dealt with handling the servicing of my lawn tractor. Currently, my lawn tractor is running great! Please offer Chris my sincere gratitude for his service.
Love these guys! So helpful, my go to guys all the time
Wish they had more products such as riding lawn mowers and zero turn in the store, but overall a good experience, service guys is very helpful
I have had several dealings with the folks at Quality Equipment. I have purchased some pieces of landscape equipment with wonderful help/service to make sure my specific needs were met. Most recently, I have had them order parts for me for two different repairs I was working on. The parts manager, Jem Morrow, could not have been more helpful. He took the time to explain everything to me to make sure I got the right part the first time. It was a very good experience and I would not hesitate to send anyone else down to talk to him. Glad to have a branch in Durham.
Figured out my repair was covered by warranty without my asking! They were very good to deal with. Normally I avoid going to the dealer like the plague due to the price. But if you gotta go to them this place was great.
Friendly fair price and true to their word about when it will be ready
Justin Tilley always takes care of whatever I need, be it a mower, blower, weedeater, even a tractor for my parents. We even buy our concrete blades here for cut saws. They have maintenance available for Stihl and John Deere and my Honda push mower. If you own a landscape business and purchase commercial equipment, they provide loaners if that equipment ever breaks down and needs maintenance, which is HUGE.
As the owner of a landscape company who has been servicing the triangle for over 2 decades, Ive been giving my business to the John Deere dealer at this exact location for years now... back to when they used to be Barnhill equipment... Ill be the first to tell you that they were the absolute worst dealer, and an overall terrible business to deal with! Ive got a handful of stories about bad experiences I had with them.. from their quality of work to their customer services, I became fed up to the point that I never wanted to step foot in the place again. A few months ago, I found out that they had recently changed management and when my John Deere commercial walk behind mower broke, I decided to give the new guys a shot. I am here now to tell you that this place has completely turned around!! Their customer service is very respectful and top of the line! Their work is clean, turnaround time is fairly quick, and their pricing is very reasonable! I have now taken everything from my John Deere tractor to my Stihl chainsaw to them for repairs, and I could not be happier! If you need any equipment repairs or service, please go see these guys! Chris Ballard, the service manager, is the gentleman who Ive dealt with every time and I cannot say enough good things about him or any of the guys in the shop! They are always honest and stand behind their work! You all are awesome and I really appreciate everything youve done for me! Thanks for turning things around, regaining my trust, and for all of your great work! Ill definitely be back soon!
Great job problem solved by the service manager that l had took tractor back and fix the problem and return it to me
Purchased my John Deere over a year ago at Quality Equipment. Everyone was very pleasant. I was the guy to drive up right at closing time to purchase a zero turn and they made time to help and were very patient. Everyone was flexible and answered all my questions. My mower is great! Last week I lost my mowers key, and they offered me a replacement key free of charge.
I called them for a repair to my John Deere Garden Tractor when the blades stopped turning. They were wonderfully honest, efficient and a pleasure to work with. They picked up and delivered the tractor exactly at the times they promised. I could not be more pleased!
Excellent service overall! I dropped off two chains saws for repair reps were very friendly, i was interested in buying a new chain saw wich they guided me and explained in detail different model’s to assure I got the one I needed they even took out a model that wasn’t on the show case from the back ! I highly recommend this store
Big shout out to Chris and all the guys at Quality Equipment in Durham! I was about half way through my route today and my blades started giving out. I purchased a new set and they were willing to put them on right there on the spot! You talk about service! Plus I was able to get right back on my route. This is the 3rd time this year so far that they have come trough in an emergency. You just don’t find service like that very Often anymore! They are always well stocked with parts also. John Deere and Stihl! Thanks again guys!JimRyco Lawn Care
Good people Good products
Great customer service
The reason I am giving them 1 star. Is because I came too but a lawn mower cash money. I was in the show room for 10mins. No one asked could they help me. I was standing in front of this guys office. He didnt say a word. Poor customer service.this was on 4/22 @12:50pm. I will not be back.
Happy with the product I purchased and the service I received.
Id give them zero stars if I could. I went in for a winter service and a slow leak in the front tire of my E110 mower. They charged me $60 to replace a tube in the tire. But more importantly, they advertise that they clean the mower as part of the winter service and when I got it home there was dried grass all over the mower deck. Ive called multiple times, left detailed messages, and have not received a call back. Very poor first impression. I wont be going back
I am the band director at Riverside High School and Quality Equipment, LLC has been graciously lending one of their Gators on Friday nights football games, so that the marching band can move equipment for our half-time show. They have even had some of their employees drop-off and pick-up for us in the past. I have been really impressed with their generosity and customer service. We are very thankful for their support of the community!!!
I have purchased from Quality equipment for 8 years now and I have always been treated very well and I feel welcome everytime I go. My recent purchase last week was also very easy and friendly. This was my first visit to the new Durham location, Ed was my sales person and he is an excellent person with knowledge to work with. I am very pleased and highly recommend them. Thank you Quality Equipment of Durham.Kim Smith
I am a very satisfied customer. All my lawn tools and mowers are bought and serviced here. I have worked with Justin and find him to be an excellent representative of Quality Equipment.
I purchased a 1025R utility tractor from Quality Equipment about 3-4 weeks ago. I had the pleasure of meeting Justin Tilley and he was quickly able to understand my needs and recommend the appropriate tractor. Justin personally delivered the tractor to my house and has been a fantastic resource with any questions or concerns I’ve had. If you are in the market for a tractor, I highly recommend Quality Equipment.
Yes, some of you have great experiences here, but not me. 4 out of 5 visits, it seems like its a real chore to wait on me. They rather have 10 min personal conversations rather than wait on someone ready to unload some cash on new equipment. I only had a few min to spare on my lunch break and knew exactly what I wanted. And yes, they saw me waiting patiently and only ask if they could help me as I was walking out. Nice. Oh well, I will take my business elsewhere. Quality in Roxboro really knows customer service, not this place. I will drive the extra distance as long as they are open. Yes, the Durham location has a shiny new store, but the same uncaring attitudes. Sad really. One star because zero stars is not an option. Never again will I be sucked into this store. For those who love being serviced by former Tractor Supply employees, rock on.
This company has done a great community service by generously donating equipment to the Riverside Marching Band!! This says a lot to the integrity of their business. Thanks QE!!!
I’m very happy with my recent purchase of a John Deere X350 riding mower from Quality Equipment in Durham. A sales associate at the counter was quick to greet me and asked how she could help. Told her I was there to buy a mower and she called the salesman Jason over to me. Jason was a lot of help in answering some questions I had about the mowers before making my decision. I bought the mower on Thursday and Jason dropped it off on Saturday. He took the time to go over all the controls and recommended maintenance and insisted that if I had any questions to call him anytime. I’m glad I chose an authorized dealer with friendly, knowledgeable employees who sell high quality equipment!
We bought our zero turn commercial mower from quality equipment and were happy with the customer service that Jason gave us. We have had our mower serviced with quality multiple times and have been pleased with the outcome every time. We have since purchased other equipment from Jason and will continue to go back. I encourage you to stop by quality when purchasing your outdoor equipment!
This place was great. I hate to see that other people had a bad time. As soon as I walked in two people came over to help me. One I had talked to earlier on the phone. I was buying the same lawn mower that he had at home, so we bantered for a bit about the pros of the mower. When I told him to box it up, a service guy popped up behind me to whisk it off for its first tank of gas and oil. He tested it for me and took it out to the car where he and another gentleman from the service department helped get it into the car. I even had a nice chat with an older gentleman about where we live in Durham and he joked about how I was in a nicer part. They have a ton of stuff to browse and the prices are all fair. I will be shopping here again, and hope to keep having great experiences.
Great service. Very knowledgeable. Wouldnt trust anyone else.
I decided this year I should up my yard equipment game, we bought a home with a larger yard a few years back and I was still mowing with a walk behind 22in mower - it took hours. Justin Tilley was awesome and walked me through my options for both a zero turn mower and a trimmer setup. They also provided great support for a minor issue with the mower after delivery. I highly recommend Quality Equipment.
Great service! I called them before going in to confjrm they had the parts I needed. I provided them with the model number. I picked up the parts shortly after the phone call. The salesmen were very attentive and polite. The cost was less than quoted by Amazon on line. Im very pleased with all.
I purchased a 1023E just recently from Jason Jarrett at Quality Equipment in Durham. Bottom line is, he gave me a better price compared to other dealers,I was in and out in no time, and he personally delivered it to me. I highly recommend you stop by and see Jason if youre looking a tractor or mower.
We went in this morning to buy a backpack blower and the staff were very friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to help us. Great customer service - would definitely shop here again!
I must agree with many of the other reviewers that customer service in the Service Department is abysmal and extremely disappointing. I will never purchase anything from this store or other branches again and will tell everyone I meet on the street the same. A young employee of mine just purchased her first house and asked my opinion about lawn mowers. I immediately told her to purchase a Honda as I’ve had three and they were all fantastic. She did this, but shortly after purchasing the lawn mower from Home Depot, she was mowing her grass and the top shroud engine cover flew up in the air and started battering the engine with the broken bolts still attached to it. Basically, each of the three major bolts holding the shroud had broken, pulled out of their threads, or broken off the engine chassis bracket holding it. After seeing the pictures of what had happened, I recommended that she take it to Quality Equipment, LLC immediately for warranty repairs. However, that evening she played a voicemail to me from Sam, head of the Service Department, saying that she must have run over it with a car or run it under a porch or something to cause this type of damage. Therefore, repairs would not be covered by the warranty. In reality, the pictures all showed that there was not a scratch, bump or any signs of any damage to the outside portion of the shroud so there was no way that it had been run over by a car or hit anything. It still looks brand new. We called the Honda warranty department, but they said that they had to go by what the repair technicians said. Again, disappointing customer service. Therefore, I returned to Quality Equipment with her to talk to Sam and show him that what he proposed was not supported by any data. It was clear that after talking to him for a few minutes that since he thought something had hit it or something really heavy had been set on the plastic cover that this had caused these 3/8” bolts to break. I guess these days that if you think something, that it must be real despite the facts. However, he basically told us that we were not telling the truth about what happened and he completely ignored the perfect condition of the plastic cover in front of us. Facts did not seem to matter to him even though he had no other explanation as to how this could happen without exterior damage to the mower. He eventually told us to go somewhere else, which was further disappointing. I put the lawn mower in the car and will never return. Bottom line, I will never buy another Honda from Home Depot, and will tell everyone to avoid all Quality Equipment, LLC stores as they will ultimately be disappointed and management does not seem to care given the constant complaints about the Service Department, NOT.
I have had multiple fantastic experiences Quality Equipment in Durham. Jason is OUTSTANDING - extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. Highly recommended!
I can only guess any negative reviews on the Durham location are from previous management. My entire Deere fleet is cared for (and was purchased by) the new management and the service is second to none. If you haven’t been to the new Durham location I suggest you do; they have a new massive showroom and the new branch manager Jason is from the Roxboro location that is also known for their quality and customer service. I don’t ever consider anything but John Deere and the service from the Durham location is the biggest reason for that.
I volunteer for the Riverside High School Marching band. My role as Pit Crew chief is to provide logistics and transportation for the band equipment at football games and competitions. For the last 3 years Quality Equipment had provided a Gator for these events. I would have to say we would not be successful if we did not have a Gator. Folks that I have worked with at QE have been very responsive and great to work with..Personally I have a John Deere riding mower.. I have purchased parts and had QE service my equipment and the experience has always been positive. I will continue to do business with QE.
Have had an excellent experience at Quality Equipment Durham at their new location. Just purchased a JD 2025, they took my old tractor in trade for a fair price. Jason is a straight up guy.
If you need a part for anything these guys seem to have it or know where I can get it. They have a great selection of very good products. The sales guys know what they are talking about and they have a great repair shop for the one time something I bought from them didnt work. My Stihl trimmer is still spinning after 6 or 7 years. three pulls and its running.
I have had a very good experience. They picked up my mower, fixed it, washed it too. Returned it and I think the price was very fair. The driver and other folks I talked to were very nice!
I had an amazing experience at Quality Equipment! I was helped by Justin Tilley. He was friendly, knowledge, and helped me select the best option for me. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Quality Equipment and Justin Tilley.
Id like to thank these guys for all the help and guidance they provided while I was trying to evaluate all the different options for equipment to use out on my farm. They took the time to tell me the ups and downs of each equipment option there was. So far Ive bought several types of Stihl products as well as some tractor attachments. I also want to thank one of their staff named Jason that works there. He went above and beyond to make sure I was picking out the right equipment for the job. Thanks Quality Equipment!!!
My Stihl dealer, best prices and best customer service!
Purchased a 1023e with 120R loader and 60” MMM today. After calling a few dealerships around me no one seemed like they wanted to sell equipment or even have a conversation. Called Jason in Durham to talk about a used 1025r they had and he gave me an outstanding price on a new model. The 2 hour drive was well worth it for the customer service and expierence. If you are looking for anything JD stop by and see Jason.
I recently bought a backpack blower here. I was immediately greeted by the owner as I came in and had multiple people ask me if I needed help as I looked around. I found them to be courteous and helpful as I picked out a new blower to replace one that had been lost.
Parts dept is incredibly friendly and helpful!Update 4/22/19: Also wanted to add that Justin in the sales department was excellent to deal with. He helped my dad and I find a new mower, but it gave us some trouble right off the bat. He was incredibly responsive and made it right as quickly as he could. Even with that early hiccup, I would still recommend this QE location/John Deere dealer to anyone. Thanks so much for a great experience.
Quick, friendly and helpful service
I will never use this place again after they ripped me off.
Knowledgeable staff; parts in stock... convenient location.
Nice place for stihl chainsaws and stihl equipment. Not a fan of John deere thou.
Ok. Last year I spent almost 30k with these people1st Justin in sales has been a great help and he’s been awesome. 2nd and this is why I gave a 1 star. Their service department and manager suck The biggest waste of a department. The manager doesn’t have any customer service skills at all and is very none personal on the phone or in public. My tractor broke the 4x4 drive shaft with only 72 hrs it’s a 3032 He is telling me he doesn’t know when they will get to it and it’s probably not gonna be covered. And that’s unacceptable. The tractor still hasn’t had its 1st service Why is it broke already. Spend 20k on tractor and implements this isn’t to good. Iam hoping that quality equipment itself will resolve this issue ASAP. If not there will be more bad reviews added.
Great service. Thanks again guys!
Beware: Waste of money! Theyre happy to *guess* at what parts might fit, but dont mention the no returns policy until they got your cash! Scammers!
Terrible customer service. Guys behind the service counter act as if theyd rather be someplace else you are bothering them with your business. The maintenance work they did on my Stihl weeder was sub par and as it only ran once after they supposedly repaired it.
Please do not use this mom and pop dealership. I return a fuel pump and it states on receipt that they charge a 15% RE-STOCK FEE... the part I return was about .5 LBS...the clerk was not professional and stated he had no choice but to charge me $15 on a $45 purchase... I see why this place is run down..the parking lot is barely paved and the nickel and dime you on all part prices...u can tell they are po folks...my advice stay AWAY...go to another dealer..or better yet go ONLINE..the prices are cheaper online..DO YOUR RESEARCH....i believe in supporting local business that are customer friendly. This place is not!!!!!!
My husband always talks to Jason when he has a question. He is very customer service oriented, he goes out of his way to help with any service or parts problem or gets you to the right person.
Barnhill management (old name/owners) were more than disappointing; only company I have contacted BBB over. When Quality and Jason Jerrett took over I was hopeful that we would have a local (Durham/CH) dealership and service department in the mold of Roxboro and have been extremely satisfied. Jason brought his interpersonal skills and knowledge with him from years In Roxboro and he has been very helpful in purchase of a mower, tractor implements and other equipment. His advice has been spot on and the limited service I have needed for John Deere equipment has been done quickly and completely. He has followed up on the repairs as well and has been either immediately available or answered calls in a timely fashion. The new store on CH Boulevard is a welcome expansion in terms of service area and stock. He is a great diplomat for the Deere brand.
👍
Would not buy anything from them. 1 star is too high of a rating. They sold us an incorrect $300 part for a mower and once we found out a few days later they would not take it back stating sign on counter states this. They sold us the incorrect part, we did NOT provide them the wrong detail for the mower. If they cant stand behind what THEY provide to customers at their mercy - I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND SHOPPING here.
I have no idea what people are talking about (or they were in a good mood), these people are not rude at all. They helped me find my STIHL trimmer I wanted and was out of there in 30-40 minutes. They also have a full line of STIHL. If I were you, I would buy from them!
I bought two mowers here.......not impressed with the continuing service in the least! Where do I get warranty work done now???Save you money, dont shop here.
Friendly staff
Someone needs to explain to these people that customers make their business. Their business does not make the customer. I thought they were very rude. I will not go here again if I can find Stihl elsewhere.
Multiple 5 star reviews are duplicates?
Worst John Deere dealer in the system. Parts are frequently wrong, service charges are waaaaaaaaaaay high, and they are still so busy they cant find time to get around to your work. Went in and they were so busy talking about an order in the shop they didnt have time to stop the internal chatter and take my parts order.I have farms in a couple of states and if it wasnt for the fact they are next door to one of my farms I wouldnt ever use them for anything....ever. You can count on at least two trips unless you have your part in hand.
The clerks were rude and they all seemed like they wanted to get back to their naps. Their Stihl bar oil per gallon is $23.00. The Stihl dealer in Hillsborough (14 miles away) is $15.00 AND very friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. I called another Stihl dealer and the bar oil was $11.99. Lets see: they sell it at $11.99 and are making a profit; Barnhill is selling it at $23.00. How do YOU define greedy and ripoff? I will leave it to you as to how much you figure will get taken for if you buy ANY goods, equipment or service from there gentlemen.
Horrible customer service. Dont waste your time.
Barnhill Equipment is a dishonest service provider for small engine repair. We took our riding lawn mower in for very specific repairs plus and oil and filter change and we received a bill for more than $450! The repairs they did were NOT approved by us, they did whatever they wanted and we didnt know about these repairs until we arrived to pick up the lawn mower. Please do not reward their dishonest practices with your hard earned money.
Always helpful with my lawn equipment
Great place for everything John Deere
They are barely civil and will blame you for the problem your stihl weed cutter might be having. Avoid.
Rude service, though they did sharpen my chain saw chains well. Came by Sat am at 10 and they are closed, despite website saying open 8-noon.
Parts guys are very unfriendly. You are made to feel as though you are doing them a favor by giving them business. Would avoid this place if at all possible. Im certainly not going back.
Great Customer Service
Great company and service
Good place
