Great customer service.

On July 22nd my family and I were heading home from vacation. We stop to fuel up and get a quick bite to eat. We loaded back up and when I went to put the van into drive nothing happened. Free play in the shifter would not go into any of the gears. So here we sit still 4.5 hours from home. I go online and find the listings for transmission services and start calling. Mind you this is a Saturday at 3:30 in the afternoon. Thank god Dougs transmission answered. He had just left his shop for the day and when I explained my situation he gladly offered to help so over the phone he was able to determine the cause of my troubles.(The cable from the shifter had came loose from the transmission) He happily walked me through the problem and I was able to fix the van in the parking lot and get my family home safely. Im forever grateful for that. If it had been anyone else Im sure it would have cost me a tow and a lot of labor costs for the repair. I had a transmission line go out on my truck on the way to work. I had it towed there and was very surprised to get a call from Doug that same evening saying it was ready to go. I appreciated the quick fix and very fair price.

Customers BEWARE!! Dougs Transmission is a disgrace to the automotive world, The owner, Doug Jernigan, is the most money hungry, clown of an owner out there. I payed him to fix my transmission and it broke down a month later. I took it to another transmission shop and the first thing they said to me was, Have you had your transmission worked on lately? Come to find out, they didnt tighten up all the plugs within the transmission and re-destroyed the transmission!! Mr. Jernigan kept stating that the Warranty was out, even though ALL his work is guaranteed for 3 yrs, per his radio advertisement on Triton Radio. After not standing by his work and honoring his own warranty, he had the audacity to say, how do i know someone didnt go under your vehicle and take out the plugs, haha. I have never had any plugs fall out to my other vehicles, but just so happen to fall out after his work. I then made contact with a number of different transmission shops and they all stated that its nearly impossible for the plugs to fall out, unless they were never tightened to begin with. After bringing this to his attention he continuously advised that no negligence occurred on his behalf. I then asked him how does he install his parts and he stated that he gets them from the manufacturing company and then tosses them in, he stated there is no need to check the products once he receives them from the manufacturer because they come straight from the manufacturing company. Because nothing comes broken from the manufacturing company, right?I then discussed with him how were we going to fix this without involving lawyers, and he said ill give you a great deal and offered me a hundred dollars off the original price he charged me to begin with. When you are dealing with thousands of dollars, a hundred is a joke in itself. Needless to say we are involved in litigation now and our day in court will come soon.

Doug treated me right and gave me a fair shake. He found a problem that one of the mainstream auto repair shops missed and ended up saving me quite a bit of money. Doug is a man you can trust.
