No pay no pay. If you have Amica run!! If you get hit by their driver get an attorney. I spoke to 1- unlicensed claims rep 1- very rude supervisor who condoned her behavior. 1- senior supervisor he still has not fixed the claim. 60+ days $5,000.00 damage and the car is still in the shop. RUN they will try to do defraud you! Call the Georgia insurance commissioner. Know youre rights! They have tried to intimidate me into getting my car fixed at their shop. I have threatened to not pay. Their driver was cited for failure to yield, its on video.

An insured driver of theirs hit me and was found at fault and ticketed. I waited until the police report was available to call them. Its been almost three weeks now and still no response from them. Follow up: Ive been in contact with their claims adjusters and its a nightmare. Still have a totaled out vehicle here in my driveway. I am 72 years old and I have never had such a run around from an insurance company! I have had to hire an attorney to try to recover my loss from their insured.

I thought I had done due diligence looking for auto insurance company. Looked at Amica and it appeared to be highly rated. Having been with Allstate for over 20 years I felt it was time to get a better deal. I got a good rate and switched and that was the end of my positive experience. I submitted paperwork for a discount via email to the employee who sold it to me and didn’t get an acknowledgment of receipt. Instead, I received a letter of cancellation unless I paid the extra fee without the discount. When I explained that I had submitted the documentation already I was told that it hadn’t been processed, so I sent it again. They claimed that even with that and the fact that I had sent it months ago, I should go ahead and pay or risk being out of insurance by midnight. I cannot understand why I can call the same number and get a quote and new policy the same day but not get approval for a discount on an existing policy the same way. So I paid and moved on. Then my son got a new car and moved out of the house. I called to remove him from my policy. They were unable to find his policy information to corroborate that he has a new policy, get this, even though he was an Amica Insurance policy holder. Guy on the phone could not locate him. He paid $2k for this policy they cannot find within the company. If this is the treatment a customer gets in the first 4 months without an accident, I cannot imagine what would happen if there was a claim. Amazingly poor customer service standard! Taking my business elsewhere.

I moved from my previous insurance company that I had used for a couple decades to AMICA primarily due to the ratings from Consumer Reports. I needed to cover my primary residence, rental properties, 3 cars and an umbrella policy. I had ethical concerns with Amica in the quoting process but did not follow my intuition and contracted with them anyway for all my policies. After a lengthy interview process on the phone, I got a “quote” that basically just included the cost of the coverage and couple data points. I talked to at least 4 different people and requested escalation to supervisors to request an accurate quote. To be accurate, a quote should state the cost you are paying and what you are receiving. They were unwilling to provide an accurate quote with any real details regarding how the pricing was generated (such as answers to questions that effect their perception of risk and therefore the cost.) Their response, “oh, we do not do that – after you contract with us, you will get those details in the policy, and if we decide to, we can change our mind and bill you more if we feel like it.). Well, that just happened. The agent admitted that I communicated correctly in the phone interview, however he coded it incorrectly and therefore they were going to raise my rates. Seems like a scam and unethical business processes to me.

This review was updated 1 star to 3 star due to a positive resolution - see bottom after reading.Wow was I wrong. I switched to Amica a few years ago for home and auto since I thought they might be a good company. I was just notified that their system has determined that my house is $175k more valuable than the market value or actual replacement value (I am a real estate agent and former home builder so I know values and costs of replacement). I just moved into this home 3 months ago and Amica even sent out their own appraiser who provided a value of $100k above market after a 5 minute home inspection. Crazy high, but I thought I could live with that. Then 3 months later they say their system has determined that the value has jumped $80k more in the past 3 months. This new amount is $180k above the highest home sale price in my neighborhood. The rep told me they will not let you change the coverage amount as it is determined by their system and it is set in stone. This corrupt business practice of boosting minimum Dwelling coverage brings in big extra premiums for Amica.ADDED LATER: I upgraded my review rating from a 1 star to a 3 star since even though the Amica company policy is to go with the system generated value, the representative took the extra action to inquire at higher levels of management on this particular situation. I received a call back later the same day. Based on the appraisals, Amica updated the property value to a much more reasonable value. The policy cost still went up a bit, but now I am not forced to pay for an overly inflated dwelling value. A reasonable outcome that addressed the core problem.

We ended up going with Amica despite its extremely high home / auto insurance prices, since they strongly emphasized on their customer service and generosity when it comes to claims.I was very surprised how cheap they actually were when we decided to fix our roof storm damage. They gave us the smallest estimate for the roof. For charging us $1100 more for the home insurance than the other competitor companies I expected some generosity. Our family canceled all home/auto insurance from Amica due to its inflated prices and very cheap claim handling process. Now I am saving over 1000 dollars a year on insurances since I left them.

As I read other reviews, I see that Amica is consistently overrating the value of homeowners policies so as to increase their bottom line. Amica solicited me for their business. Id heard it was a good company so I agreed to give them my business. The policy started at 2,006 the first year. It went up to 3,100 the second year, then ultimately to 3,980 the final year before I cancelled. The policy cost increased to over 1,900. in a couple of years, with absolutely no claims. When I attempted to get an answer before canceling, the rep said, it doesnt matter if you have a claim, the liability for all Amica insurers are shared, so it not uncommon for the rate to continue going up.

I am giving a three star because I have Life and Home Insurance with Amica that Im satisfied with. However, they are inflating the price of the Home Insurance. Why is my home worth more than my neighbors when I have the smallest in the neighborhood. I would love to have everything in one place but I cant afford their Home Insurance.Just called after 2 years to see if someone can come give me an honest quote but he said they cant come out and gave me another system quote. I think I will need to take my business elsewhere.

PLEASE .CONSUMERS BE AWARE !!!!!!!Dwelling /rebuilding cost coverage on your policy will skyrocket yearly with Amica insurance company. Please by all means call and ask them to do a “REFRESH “on the computer of today’s time on your dwelling of your home. This will save you thousands on your dwelling estimate that is a computer generated figure for rebuilding cost. They refreshed mine and it went down ($11,000 for 2019.)They were adding on $8000 per year to my dwelling cost per year. Then all of a sudden a $11,000 increase came. The House Year 1977 -1200 sq ft. Average neighborhood. When I called to inquire they said they could do a refresh of the dwelling which brought it back down $11,000 cheaper..., then what they are currently charging me. This sounds criminal if you don’t call you will be just getting got by them. So I Take it that every year I could have called in and got a refresh ????? After learning this I just called about my other home in another state and they just refreshed it too . It saved me $5000 on dwelling rebuilding cost. All of this will make your policy way more expensive than what it actually should be. If you don’t ask for this they won’t offer it. Who even knows about this scam???? They charge you way over to rebuild your dwelling. Way more than other insurance companies. But they can adjust the dwelling cost in the push of a button. They call it a refresh of today’s time. I feel as though this is illegal and unethical practices. ( after all what time is the computer using if it not today’s time?) Note I have never had an homeowners insurance claim on either property the entire time I have ever owned the 2 homes . Ever!!! With no company. Please check your policy look for dwelling increases for every year that you have owned your home. That’s why your policy keeps skyrocketing every year with this company. Call immediately and get your “today’s time “dwelling cost adjustment .

CONSUMER BEWARE- We have had Amica insurance since 1974. We recently discovered our homeowners policy was extremely high. The payment was auto drafted out of our account. The account was managed by our accountant. We started managing it ourselves and questioned the autodraft of $1,200 per month from Amica for homeowners. We called Amica immediately once we realized, every representative we spoke to was just as surprised as we were by the yearly policy at $12,000 per year on home valued at $550,000. Our next door neighbors pay $1,100 per year for their homeowners policy. Shame on us for not knowing and trusting Amica. We fully expected a refund or credit from Amica as well as a reduction in the policy. That did not happen. We received quotes from several insurance agencies, all of which were all in the $1,000-$1,200 per year range. That is what we were paying monthly with Amica for the same coverage. We filed a complaint with Georgia Insurance Commission. The commission representatives were also shocked by the yearly policy amount. However, after an investigation we were told Amica filed their rates with the state and were able to charge these exorbitant rates. There was no recourse. What a buyer doesn’t know is an insurance company files with each states insurance commission what they can charge for insurance.

IF I COULD GIVE THEM A NEGATIVE I WOULD..... DO NOT TRUST YOUR DOG INSURANCE WITH THIS COMPANY! Was at carwash and a lady had locked her keys and purse in her car. She was in need of help so I then phoned my wife to located Amica Insurance number to help a Amica customer out! She called them on my phone at 2:14p.m! Amica sent someone out to unlock the car and that person called around 4:30p.m. to say that they got pulled over less then a block away from the location we were at waiting on them.. Gave it 20 more mins and called the guy back this time no answer. So I drove my car to the location that the gentleman was pulled over at and to my surprise he was getting hauled off to Jail for no insurance and other charges! Went back to the lady (Amica Insurance customer) and we then called the Amica 800 number back. The Rep apologize for the matter and said that a new person would be sent out asap! I had to leave the Customer at the location due to prior obligations.. Fast forward to 6pm 4hours later the next gentleman calls back and says he will be there shortly! Its been 4 plus hours and this poor lady has been in the cold because of foolishness on Amica Insurance part! DO NOT..I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY INSURANCE MATTER WHAT SO EVER! Amica made a mistake by providing a lower quote than intended for what I asked for. I only agreed to the lower quote which I though was fair. The next day I check my premium and its an extra $100 more than discussed. I called several times to correct the issue and even the orginal representative admitted it was incorrect and should not be up there but everytime I asked it to be corrected no one would. Their exact words were the quote is the quote and youll have to pay it. They refused to honor the mistake they made in the original lower quote and claimed they would review the call which proved twice the original rep admitting it should be removed. They never responded to me so I decided to take my business elsewhere. Amica has horrible customer service and they just want their money. Cheaper isnt always better. Their top ranking as an insurance company excludes customer service.

WOW! Consistently receive offers from them due to our wonderful driving record. Finally call them to get a quote and said were were not insurable due to pay outs on accidents that we had. Neither were our fault. One person backed into us in a parking lot and the other person turned into us while moving and she was parked on right side of road and decided to make a u-turn right into us. Otherwise, no tickets and no accidents with us at fault. Now they say we are un-insurable. What are they looking for? To insure perfect drivers only? Good luck with that! Now reading other reviews and glad that we are not going with them!!!!!!!!!

This is the worst insurance company ever. I called to do a quote 3/3/17. I did not purchase the quote that day. I called back 10 days later to start policy 3/13/17. i was told my first payment was due 30 days after policy started. Amicas billing generated its own due date for my first payment, drafting money out of my account 10 days early. I explained how how what they did was unlawful, i did not authorize a payment to be drafted from my account 10 days early. I ever wrote a letter explaining, I had already authorized other transactions (other bills) from that account and their error threw everything off. Management apologized, refunded my money but did not about their error of an UNAUTHORIZED TRANSACTION. Very inconsiderate!!!! Worst insurance company ever!!

I have been with Amica since 1996, home and auto. I was buying a new house and called to get a new policy written. The closing of the house was delayed so I put the policy on hold. I called a week later to initiate it and they would only initiate it if I paid a down payment over the phone. Despite years of paying for my policies in full, for home and auto. Also bringing my daughters home and auto to them. I intended to send a check through my bank and wanted the new policy up and running but they would not cover the house until they received the check. They were intent on getting payment over the phone. I was aghast. I asked for the manager and got Sara Armache. RUDE. Would not consider that I had been a 20+ year customer and was only asking for 3 days courtesy. She kept reiterating her stance it is our policy...
