The staff is always friendly and helpful.The facilities are always clean.There are plenty of programs to satisfy anyones needs.

Dangerously crowded. Filthy locker room. Never again! Too many wild unsupervised children. Throwing basketballs everywhere nearly hit my head. I cancelled my membership after 1 visit.

Ive been a member for years. I work with Trainer Donna Barrett, shes excellent. All of the staff are professional and helpful. The equipment is high quality and the YMCA is doing an excellent job cleaning. Anytme Ive been working out, everyone is cognizant of using sanitizing wipes before and after using equipment.

This family gym is amazing. I have been a member for years. The only bad part is one of the front desk worker named Millie is so rude to members and to kids when they were in basketball tournaments. She is always turning off the lights while we are working out. I think is not polite at all to do that. She is always in hurry to close, when we are just enjoying our working out. I think she shouldnt work there if she doesnt have customer service skills.

Will start going to the gym more often again because it has been over two weeks since I received my second shot for covid-19.

Nice facility great for the community and families. Staff isn’t great except for kids zone staff, they are great with my kids especially Ms. Marissa and Ms. Raluca! They definitely work well with all the kids and are the most friendly in that room, and that I’ve met at the Y the 3 years I’ve been there. It would be great if there was more work in the Women’s locker rooms and if they could open the rock climbing wall. My husband and kids used to come all the time to climb on Friday nights and they closed it for no reason. It’s a shame they take away the family things and spend money on things that don’t even matter. And swim classes are great for my boys.

Enjoyable with some caveats.There was a great swim program for our kids for the past 5 years- great teaching staff our kids enjoy and good lessons. However, ostensibly for competitive reasons they recently changed the swim scheduling to monthly instead of by session (Spring 1, Spring 2, Summer 1, etc), and if you have to drop for a period of time, you end up waitlisted for the more desirable times. So in order to get and remain in a popular timeslot, you have to be locked in. Not a fan of new system- I thought the old per-session scheduling system was actually an advantage over the competition that charges monthly.Staff is friendly and helpful in my experience. Gym, track, courts, classes are good, sometimes crowded or closed for special events- to be expected. Wish they still had the toddler basketball hoop and still provided basketballs (now its BYOB) They also gutted a very popular toddlers padded play area, maybe for other uses that I havent seen. Final gripe is that now First Student uses the middle section of the parking lot for over a dozen of their vehicles, which adds to the restrictions in parking for Y members, especially on weekends when the facility, school across the street, and fields are jam-packed for sports activities.Edit March 2020: upgraded a star because basketballs are now available, and swimming has proven to be accommodating with monthly scheduling.

This YMCA has totally changed! Although there are so many great activities, I feel that the staff has caused me to no longer want to bring my children. Specifically, the child care director, Jennifer. She is not professional and shes extremely rude. I say hello every time and she doesnt acknowledge us. We pay a lot of money here and to not be at least greeted is disappointing. Once I even overheard her speaking to a staff member in a manner that was not appropriate. The proper way to reprimand an employee is not out in the open. This situation really didnt sit well with me. I will be looking elsewhere for my children.

So today I receive a letter from this new Executive Director of the Indian Boundary YMCA informing me that my membership through the Silver Sneakers program is being cancelled. Silver Sneakers is a program to benefit Senior Citizens through paid health insurance plans with complimentary memberships to health clubs. I was invited to continue a membership at the full regular adult rate. This is a problem.1. I checked around and found that their single adult rate is WAY greater than other health clubs in the area. The others also have longer hours, some even 24 hours.2. I checked Silver Sneakers website and found that YMCAs in ALL other major metro areas I sampled still show as active participants. It seems that the Chicago Metro YMCA, for whatever reason, is the outlier in dropping participation.Something here in all this does not smell right.I will be checking out other facilities. I suggest other single adults do the same as well.

I love the Indian Boundary YMCA in Downers Grove and I love working with my fabulous trainer, Marty. He is very knowledgeable and inspiring.

Nice place for a workout. Nursery workers are great with smaller kids. Took my toddler to several open swims that werent overcrowded. Lots of options for recreation and improving your fitness.

Great location! Day care has been great for my son while I work out. A very basic gym but has all the necessities. We have participated in a lot of their activities and over all pretty satisfied.

They are liar, cheats, and thieves. Be ware even when you follow their procedures. They will still find a way to take. Initially they will promise the world for you. We will never turn a family away. they will say this, until the day you want to leave. They have now taken $ 200 from me and my family. After discussing with them about the first $100 dollars that I lost, due to procedural issue, I will concede, you win. Not happy about or the way in which it was handled, therefor, I want nothing to do with this organization. Then I went to cancel additional services, due to not being happy as to how my first disagreement was handled my the management. I was told I would receive a $96 refund for services that were partially rendered, and never rendered. I was also told that I should be receiving them quickly, since I canceled the before 45 days had past. However, after having a talk with the little lady with shoulder length reddish hair. (Connie) She tried to keep me as a member, buy offering me additional month membership. Still not happy I told her that I would rather sever my ties with the Indian Boundary YMCA. I do not like their business practices. After severing my ties with this organization over a month ago Im still waiting for my refund of $96. After calling and trying to settle this multiple times. I find out from staff their that Connie went into the system canceled my refund and wrote notes that I was offered membership as compensation, and that I should not receive a refund. You just can not win with this group, even if you do it their way. Proceed with caution when dealing with this organization.

I really do like this Gym and I wish I could comfortably give it five stars, but the fact that it took the person signing me up over an hour and a half because of her lack of computer knowledge is just... really sad. I am sure their internet had to be partially to blame, but the women taking care of me needed to ask for aid every five minutes and it got to the point where her co-workers were visibly annoyed with her.The poor women is so nice and sweet and they were all very nice, but if the person signing people up for your gym can’t even figure out how to type with more than one finger... please, for goodness sack, give that job to someone else. Computer literacy should be a qualifier for a position based on a computer, I am sure the darling women has other strengths they can put her on.I also wish they had a hot tub, so they lose half a star for that and they lose the other half for not better utilizing their available resources. Aka, having someone else who is more computer literate run the sign up counter.

Great facility. Free weights and group classes. Actually was able to work out there for free because they honored my out of town YMCA membership.

Outgoing staff, clean and well maintained, plentiful parking, many supervised fitness programs from which to choose, ample number of treadmills and elliptical machines all with cable access controllable TVs, separate free weight room and weight machines rooms, family locker room in addition to men and women s, sauna and a large heated pool. All things considered, a much better overall deal than Charter Fitness at $10 a month of which I previously was a member.

My son has been coming here for over 7 years what makes this place is the staff there absolutely wonderful they make you feel like youre a part of their family looking forward to another wonderful summer of camp!!!!

Not worth the money. We brought half of our football team to them which was business for them! Very unorganized and most staff is so confused. No stars if I could. Screwed up my account and did nothing to fix or accomedate!

Amazing activities and service but sometimes not as clean.

The so called Director of the afterschool program Jennifer acts different towards minorities kids and staff. Oh yeah ALL THE AFRICAN AMERICAN AFTERSCHOOL STAFF QUIT except 1 who was recently let go. Although this Director has been reported repeatedly by multiple parents and to no avail her behavior has not changed. Bad management make good employees leave... Make sure you talk with your kids about their day no matter who theyre around. The front staff is great except K. Their hotline is a joke. Thats their to fix their lies if you report them. And yes at least 2 parents have called DCFS on this YMCA.

This Placeis a scam they are liars, rude, nasty, and will cheat you they dont care about their customers at all.. My son attended after school care 2 years ago in this place which At that time I was quoted by Devon Williams $205 which I paid after receiving several emails from Devon.. The $205 Devon advised me I would be paying from Jennifer would not change because that was the price I was quoted so stick with that amount.. During the course of those 2 months I was NEVER quoted Anything Different was sent emails from Devon Williams as a reminder about my portion I had to pay which I paid on time. School was out and after school program was over, I kept my membership that was only $58-60 bucks before we moved, and stopped going in August and still was never advised of the made up balance of $350 for after school care fees Jennifer is claiming I owe from backm in 2016 after calling in March of 2018 about rejoining and asking about camp cost and start dates, I asked how I never received anything about a balance I paid on time when my son attended and my membership was auto drafted from my credit card every month, which Jennifer at that time told me it was the end of summer your paperwork was never resubmitted you got lost in the shuffle we were trying to get situated so this is the fee owed because it was end of year and we were trying to get ready for camp and just realize after 2 years this is the balance for your son to attend after school care when he was here, so I asked the emails I was sent about price and quotes also payment reminders were incorrect? Yes, Jennifer said Basically they dropped the ball we didnt notice it 2 years ago, so this is your balance.. I reached out to EVERYONE and constantly I am only being told well get back to you we cant find any information on you and never get calls back, was told by Devon and Jennifer weeks ago were looking into this matter still no calls back, so I called Jennifer yesterday and she was so rude, condescending and nasty to me I asked to speak with someone over them which she tried giving a bogus number.. Sad this place doesnt care and my son is missing out on camp due to an error on their part I had no clue about and they arent doing anything to correct this issue only dodging my calls and Jennifer becoming more and more rude when we speak

Horrible place! Awful work staff in the pool department. And the manager of the place is really bad. I have an issue during swimming, and I talked to the gym manager about it, she was not friendly at all and she never called me back with resolution or help or anything. I am giving one star because there is the lowest but this place and the pool and gym managers don’t even deserve that.
