This is the second time that I have gone to Bob Carters, and I am so happy that I did. The staff is friendly and professional, and their prices are very reasonable (especially compared to those of other body shops). They took the time to answer all of my questions, which I very much appreciated. They did high quality work and returned the car on time. I returned to Carters because I was confident that I would get good service, and I had a very positive experience with them.

Super happy with my experience here and would totally recommend! Honestly, it’s the first time I’ve ever had to file an insurance claim on my car and the process seemed daunting (and annoying). I am a repeat customer to Bob Carter’s over the past 20 years. And time after time they have done meticulous work. In my latest incident, I was rear-ended in my brand new 2020 vehicle. It was very frustrating to have a brand new car damaged, but I was happy to have Bob Carter’s there to the rescue. Josh at the front desk worked especially hard with the insurance company to make sure I had brand new replacement parts installed. The finished product matched the look of the vehicle the day it rolled off the dealership lot. I couldn’t be happier.The whole process was very smooth from the initial inspection, to drop off, and pick up.On the day of pickup, they cleaned the vehicle and walked me through a final inspection to check over their work. We also walked away with a small bottle of touch up paint which is always useful for those door dings you get in tight parking lots. Mike, Josh, Bob and their staff did a fantastic job on my hail damaged car. With over 500 dents in the roof alone you could not even tell there was a repair done when they were finished. They treated me like family, explained everything in detail, kept me informed, worked with my insurance to get everything covered without any hassles for me. Its always difficult to find an auto repair shop to trust, so I find reviews for them the most useful. I just took my car into Bob Carters recently for some minor body work, and I was extremely impressed with them. I felt the price was fair, and they did a spectacular job on the repair. I took my 2015 Altima in for repairs on the front bumper, rear bumper and driver side door. I dealt with Josh, from the start of my experience to the end, he was professional and courteous. The estimate was reasonable compared to others in the area. He kept me updated throughout the process and offered solutions to keep my costs down. They even did extra work to make the car look better. I am extremely satisfied with the work they did, and the amount of time it took. They repaired my car three times and did a great job. One of the repairs was a major front end damage. They made it look like new with all original parts and even the original manufacturers stickers. I had cars repaired by two other body shops in the area but no comparison with Bob Carters in terms of the quality of work. I will definitely be back.

I did some quick reviews online for a quality (non-franchised) body shop as I was in need of a minor repair/adjustment. I believe I had found just that with Bob Carters Auto Body. I drove up an hour from closing time to set an appointment for a following day and I met Josh at the front counter and explained my repair. He said it sounds simple lets take a look after reviewing what I needed done he said Ill be right back. Josh soon came out with a handful of specialty tools and a cloth (as to not scratch anything) and proceeded to make adjustments right there in the parking lot! In 5 minutes he was done, it looked great and it was more than I expected! I asked how much I owed him for the repair? He said You owe us nothing, tell a friend about us if they need our help. Wow!So, Im letting you know, this is THE place to take your car for auto body repairs!

I got an estimate after my car was hit by a crane and they offered to put in the headlight I had just ordered online. Its a SAAB so finding replacement parts isnt easy. They installed it quickly, the cost was reasonable, and at least I have a working headlight on that side.

Brought my car in there for the first time and it was great. My car looks way better than before my accident. The staff was friendly and helpful and the work that they did was top notch. I had my 2008 Mazdaspeed3 repaired to eliminate rust that had developed over the rear wheelwell. They made the repair properly, replacing and welding in new metal in that area. The paint looks great. They did it within the timeframe expected and they came in a little under the estimate. Very professional from beginning to end. I highly recommend them.

Bob Carters did an awesome job fixing the front bumper of my M5. I primarily worked with Mike and was a pleasant experience overall. Quality work and turnaround time was faster than anticipated. Ill definitely use them again if I need body work in the future.

I had two vehicles get hit in one month,one rearended while parked and the other a semi-truck wanted to share the same lane in traffic.BOTH VEHICLES turned out great. Having done body work in the past there wasnt any arguing with the work. The pricing was in the ballpark and again worth the money and time.TIME IN THE SHOP WAS WELL WITHIN REASONGuys at the front desk are seasoned and are good with giving correct answers and save time by not telling stories.Im about to call this morning and have my sons truck worked on, a project I wanted to do over the winter.But I recieved a call from him and being in the military, he gave me no real notice of when he needed the truck until the last min.So after seeing their work on two within our family, Im good with them doing my sons truck and getting it right.

I brought my car in to Bob Carters due to some significant front end body and undercarriage damage I received due running over a semi-truck tire that came off of a truck driving in front of me on the IL tollway. Bob Carters did a great job all the way through. Not only does the car look great, but they worked very closely with my insurance company, and myself. They helped me get a rental car setup, and kept me informed of their progress all the way through. I go my car back on time, the price was as expected with no surprises and I could not be happier. These guys do excellent work. Im currently on my third significant repair using Bob Carters. What I like the most is that they dont over-promise (price or timing) and they stand behind their work. Example: While the car was in for a larger repair, I decided to go ahead and have a door ding removed on the opposite side of the car via paint-less dent removal. When I got the car back (on the day they said it would be ready), I could still see a little of the door ding blemish. It was much better and most people would never see it. But I wasnt 100% satisfied and they made it right. They wouldnt hear of letting me drive away unsatisfied.

Everyone there is nice enough, and they are timely, but i definitely feel ripped off. $50 just to remove a panel from the side of a car and plug something in for a window to work? Even if it is a little messed up that could not have taken an hour. And even if so, $50 is way too much. It costed me almost $200 to just get my windows to roll up and down again. Thats one expensive window motor if you ask me..

I have over the course of my life had the misfortune of having had a number of collisions but the good fortune of knowing Bob Carter Sr, Bob Carter Jr, and now Mike Carter. These folks are the créme de la créme of the auto body shops. Price is fair, service is excellent, and they are friendly and easy to deal with. If you live anywhere near the Downers Grove area (or even if you dont) this is the place to go for auto body repairs.
