Brought my John Deere riding lawnmower in to get a new belt put on, guy immediately started telling me these lawnmowers decks are easily bent by hitting something while mowing and then the pulleys get out of alignment and belts will not stay on... only way to fix is a new $750 deck plus labor which would be high making it not worth repairing. Anyway, he said would be 3 weeks before they could get to it and would call with a quote to fix. So I left the mower. Within a couple of days they called and said the deck was off by a quarter inch. I told them to put belt on anyway. I was informed I needed a new battery, so I approved that as well. Repair was done within a few days. Went to pick up and bill was $201. Asked for breakdown and was told $44 for the belt, $65 for the battery, plus $85 for labor, plus tax. Thought the labor charge was fine, but thought the parts were a bit high. Anyway, mower is fine. Service was much quicker than 4 weeks originally quoted, price a bit high in my opinion. People were nice overall. Guess you have to decide what you think.

We saw the package deals they offer and visited them to look at stuff. ... Left with the tractor and most of what we need for our new farm, without hassle, no pressure, and with a standing commitment from them for whatever backup we need, going forward. What else can you want?

This business has been scamming Craigslist for over a year by constantly placing numerous ads in the free FOR SALE BY OWNER section, even though Craigslist has strict rules against this as dealers are supposed to advertise in the FOR SALE BY DEALER section, which only costs a few dollars.Its pretty disgusting when a business feels its okay to rip-off another business because they are too cheap to pay for an ad so they try to cheat the system. People are really tired of having to go through all misleading dealer ads in the FSBO section when they are looking for a tractor. Yes it’s misleading when you post it in the FSBO section – you are a dealer selling items, not a private party.What makes it more disgusting is this company actually displays a copy of the 10 Commandments on their fence like they are all high & mighty – yet they have no problems cheating out on other businesses and trying to fool people by posting ads in the FSBO. Shame on you Dowda… STOP SCAMMING CRAIGSLIST AND STOP PLACING DEALER ADS IN THE FOR SALE BY OWNER SECTION!This is specifically why I went elsewhere to buy my tractor, even though you were the closest John Deere dealer. Either stop with the misleading FBSO ads or take down your 10 Commandments sign, because you can’t have both.
