I don’t usually leave reviews but I went here for the first time and loved it. Matt hooked me up with a super clean cut. Really cool atmosphere and everybody was super friendly. I didn’t see a single person leave dissatisfied. Will definitely be returning!

Needed a hair and beard trim before a conference tomorrow. Was able to walk in and be taken care of very quickly. Flawless service and great conversation from Lonell. I was a huge fan of the layout and interior style they have in the shop. If Im ever in Detroit again Ill be stopping by for sure. Dont hesitate, these guys are awesome.

They need to do better and accommodate walk ins. I went to the midtown location yesterday at around 4.15pm to try to get a cut and there was only one barber cutting a customers hair and he said he couldnt squeeze me in, that his next availability was for the next day(today)at 10am. Im heading to mexico today so no way i can get there at 10am and still catch my flight leaving at 1.30pm from dtw; dont want to cut things close and potentially miss my trip. I also drove to the downtown location after i was unable to be accommodated at midtown and on arrival met only one barber there who just finished a cut as i was parking. And when i walked in and asked if i could get a cut; it was the same response as the midtown location. Its almost like if you dont have an appointment, they wont attend to you. I sat in my car for 20mins before driving off and that barber was still in the shop idle with no customers and an empty shop. Could have cut my hair then but oh well he didnt. So now i think Ill just get a haircut when i get to Mexico; not how i want to start my vacation but cant do nothing else. They need to probably stagger their appointments to be able to accommodate walkins or have a barber designated for walkins. It seems barbershops in detroit have derailed since the pandemic. After the disappointment from these 2 social clubs locations, i drove to another random barbershop in town and when i arrived and walked in, the barber present just straight up told me, Im about to leave and pretty much turned me away and closed down eventhough their listed closed hours was supposed to be 6pm.

Very clean establishment. Best barbershop Ive ever visited. Ive gotten my hair cut by 4 different barbers there and all were very good. Nick is my go to guy though

I’ve seen Hillary 2 times over the course of 3 weeks for a beard treatment and always leave extremely satisfied. She took her time and shaped my beard to my liking. When I was unsure what length I wanted my beard she was okay with keeping it longer and potentially having to trim it again if I didn’t like it. Overall I left both times feeling extremely satisfied.I would recommend Hillary and the rest of the crew at the social club to anyone. You can book pay and tip online which is a big plus for me being a busy person.

Went in today for a regular haircut with Vincenzo. I told him what my idea is for a haircut (and showed some sample pictures), and he immediately knew what to do. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a barber/stylist I could trust with my hair, will def return.

Great atmosphere. Multicultural barbershop. Really cool vision of community with nice seating options. My only issue is that a standard haircut comes with a beard shave, which increases the price.A really high quality haircut and shave if youre into that, but if you want only a haircut, youll end up wasting money.

I went here on a recommendation by my cousin after noticing his precision beard work and I was extremely upset after going to another prominent barber company here in the city.Trina was exceptional to say the least. I explained what I wanted and after a brief exchange I just told her “do what you think is necessary” and I’m glad I did.I have received nothing but compliments and I am now a lifetime customer.

I realized we would be lifelong customers from the very first visit. My boys have been taken great care of by their barber Vincenzo for about 5 years now. He is very warm and kid-friendly! Every other barber and employee has been nothing but kind to us, even through the toddler years.Theres always great music playing, great books to flip through, and most importantly great conversations to be had here. Love it.

Been here a few times and dont see myself going anywhere else in the near future. Hillary cleaned me up great last time after I went way too long without a cut, and was awesome this past time getting my beard exactly how I wanted it. Highly recommend.

The service was meh. Cut was decent. But was really high priced for what I got. Probably would have liked it had it been more reasonably priced or better service.

My stylist was nice for the most part, but the cut was a little strange and not what I had asked for. Had to get another haircut only a few weeks later to fix things up. Wouldnt have minded as much if the price wasnt so steep.

Walking in I was very excited to support a local entrepreneur instead of a chain barbershop. It started off fine and Nick who was cutting someone else’s hair asked me about my brewery sweatshirt, and we chatted about beer. Sebastian was cutting my hair, and I told him a one all over while touching my head, and said I wanted to get my beard trimmed and neck shaved. I have decently long beard probably 2-2.5”, and it’s taken me quite some time to condition and get it the way I had it. When he started my cut, I was facing away from the mirror, and I felt him (Sebastian) start trimming my beard. It’s hard to tell whiteout seeing how much he was taking off. Well, needless to say I was shocked when he turned me and all the way to the middle of my chin was the same length as my hair. I didn’t say anything while there because I was very upset and didn’t want to say something rude. It was my 30th birthday and I was going out with a bunch of friends, and needless to say a bad beard trim dampened my mood for a bit. I guess I was wrong when assumed a trim was take some off and then ask before going very short. The rest of the cut was average, I think the trimmers are off on their length, as my no.1 is pretty long. I’d recommend them for getting edges straightened, but nothing else.

Sebastian has manifested something special here. Lonell is my go to stylist and this facility is not just beautiful. It is a place, a safe place to sit and talk about copious things in our community without limitation nor judgement. Its reminiscent of the Alexandria in many ways hearing peoples different philosophies and takes on the world, the city and our environment.

Right before my wedding, my wife told me i wasnt allowed to just buzz my head like i normally do. Ive been doing it that same way for something like 7 years now. I decided to go see Hillary, who was a mutual acquaintance through another Social Club Patron. He recommended her and the guy has some great fashion sense . Hillary did such a good job, that i have decided to return.

Recently moved from Toronto, Just checked out the social club because I seen the reveiws were good...Ill cut to the chase people....This place knows how to treat there customers like family doesnt matter if youre a regular or a first timer like myself. Sebastian gave me the freshest cut Ive had in years and hes a true professional and knows how to serve his customers, also I seen another barber named Lonell cut some other peoples hair and that guy is dope !! . anyways to make a long story short book your appointment ASAP itll be worth it ! Should have asked around before going here for my first haircut in the city. One week its $25 next week its $40. Literally knicked my buddy with a razor while shaving, leaves shop bleeding. No appologies. I go in a week later they knock out my haircut in 20min. (first time customer). After being bombarded with a $40 mens haircut, i ask what it entails and they say the cut. Im already fuming and ask just a cut? They reply well yeah a cut shampoo, shave. Suuuuuuuuuure. After paying and shoeing me out the door in 20 min now they offer the shampoo and shave..... great business here. Sebastian learn how to run a business.

It depends which hair dresser cuts your hair. My last hair cut, was nothing but a disaster. There are few who are qualified but some just make a mess.

Scheduling in this place is no longer easy. Although Im a regular customer with Vennie and Sara, i am not being given a worthy priority. One time I called and they told me that Vennie and Sara are fully booked, then I pass by on my way to fedex and find them both playing with their phones.. Stayed in fedex for about 30 min.. Came out to find them still playing with their phones! I COULD HAVE GOTTEN MY HAIR CUT DONE IN THAT TIME PEOPLE!Wish Sebastian would pay more attention to whats going on.. Nevertheless, I would NEVER come back to this place.

I get a poor haircut any time I come here. I dont know if they hate me or dont want me to look good but I dont come here often - maybe 3 times since they opened and each time is a lackluster cut. Im stared at like the plague and given a cut that is beyond disrespectful.
