As an older theater the Redford is very reminiscent of many of the old Detroit style theaters. I was able to enjoy watching a cult classic here, Young Frankenstein, and it felt like a very comfortable, family environment. The theater itself does feel a bit older but it feels more like a family get-together then a business. Many the people running the concessions were older volunteers with family helping to run the place. I would suggest enjoying a night out here.

Such an absolutely Stunning and Magical place! Ive been visiting Redford Theater since 2013, and I couldnt be happier with it! The theater its self is Gorgeous and the staff are just as beautiful. Everyone here is so very kind and wonderful. The showings are always great choices and so nostalgic. The concession is very affordable, although Id love if they had a few Vegan options. The pricing is very reasonable, and well worth it. I would definitely say bring a sweater if you get chilly easy, it can get a tad cold sometimes. Overall if youre looking for an affordable, exciting, and different experience... Than this is the place to go!! ((Go early to not miss anything.)) Have Fun, make Memories, and Enjoy. 10/10 Would Recommend.

Went to the Redford with the wife to see the 1927 silent film Chicago. The theatre is beautiful! The guest organist Ben Model was an absolute treat. I think we spent more time watching him play the Barton pipe organ than the film!Ticket prices and concessions are very reasonable, especially compared to going to a big multiplex. The parking lot security staff are friendly and vigilant. It is very refreshing that the people who work the theatre are so passionate about the place.

Quaint, historic theatre that is a 501c organization run completely by volunteers. Great prices, plays the old and great movies along with some shadowcast movie plays. Tickets for movies are $5, popcorn is $3, pop is $2, candy is $1-$2 for regular or $3 for sugar free. Parking is onsite and free. They have the original organ and a gentleman plays the national anthem as well as some other songs before the show starts. **NOTE: concessions are cash only!**

My fist time at The Redford Theater was a pleasant one. My fiancee wanted to sit in his geandfathers chair and watch three stooges. The manager was really helpful in locating the chair number. We got to sit in his chair. The popcorn is pre popped and they add real butter when you ask for butter. I think it made it a bit soggy, but other people seemed to really love it. It all depends on who you are. The overall experience was a good one.

The Redford Theater is a great place to catch a classic movie. This year, weve seen My Fair Lady (1964) and Jurassic Park (1993). My favorite place to see a movie. If youve never been to the Redford theater they show a lot of the classics. Around Halloween nail play a series of horror movies or science fiction thrillers. Around the Christmas holiday they play holiday classics. Many things make the Redford theater wonderful. But something that really sets them apart is their wonderful organ. They play the pipe organ a half an hour before the movie starts and they play it again during a halftime intermission. Tickets are usually only $5 and concessions are very reasonable. They also have real butter for the popcorn. Movies are only on the weekends. I give it my highest recommendation. Look up more info at their website and plan a fun trip to the theater.

I went there on a first date with a woman I met online. Well oh, it turns out she never bothered to show up!!! But I still enjoyed a fantastic movie that stands the test of time. The 1983 hit The Big Chill. And it was wonderful to see again. The theater itself is a wonderful facility albeit a bit dated. They have a standard selection at their snack bar including candy, popcorn etc etc. Its a little bit tricky for a few people who have walking issues or other such disabilities such as myself. But I managed to do just fine personally and I even explored the upper balconies. The movie was being shown to promote donations for the restoration of the theater itself and I was more than willing to contribute even more than the $5 they were asking. They offer everything from projected films to live theater presentations and operas. Its truly a worthwhile visit if youve never been before. Although a bad taste was left in my mouth regarding my no showing date I have little to complain about regarding the theater itself. The employees were extremely helpful and quite friendly and I do intend to return as I picked up their summer time schedule while I was there. Its a very intimate atmosphere not like todays modern theaters which can be a bit overwhelming at times. And the popcorn was pretty good!!!

Bought tickets for an event, the event was rescheduled due to covid, not only was I never informed that the event was rescheduled, I only found out when i looked on their Facebook page. Even though they had my email from when I got the tickets. But when I realized that the event was changed to next year I was sad to see that it was on the same dates I have a wedding to attend to. I reached out and asked for my money back. They refused. For a year later they are unable to give me my money back and resell the tickets? They literally had to add a day to the event because so many people wanted to go. The tickets would resell in no time. I would give them zero stars if I could. I had many events cancelled or postponed due to covid this year and this is the only one that is refusing to give money back! I will never return to this place or recommend them ever again!

The theatre was quite beautiful on the inside with the gilded decor. In particular, the ceiling was especially noteworthy in it being designed to resemble a night sky studded with diamond-like stars and what appeared to be ornate scrollwork occasionally interspersed amongst the tiny stars shining above our heads. The organ player and the organ were also a nice touch as a thirty minute prelude to the start of the movie, Young Frankenstein. The outside with its old style theatre signs and the plastic letters saying what is currently playing was like traveling back in time to the early days of theatre that preceded venues as they are today. All-in-all, the entire theatre is beautifully designed and a welcome homage to an obvious love for classic movies.

What a great movie theater! We drove 60 miles to the Redford and had a great movie theater experience. This theater has been restored to its former 1928 beauty and is like walking back into time. When we entered, a grand piano was being played in the lobby. In the theater, there is the original 1928 Barton Theater Pipe Organ which was expertly played before the movie, and during intermission. We saw a double feature of 1950s science fiction films. I have seen them on TV in the past, but seeing them of the big screen is very different.Ticket prices were only five dollars, and the concession stand prices were more than fair, and probably less than half of what you would pay at a first run movie. The staff was very helpful in every way. This theater is located in an older Detroit neighborhood, but I didn’t feel unsafe at any time. They used two professionally uniformed security guards to secure their fenced in parking lot and surroundings.Give the Redford a try, and I think you won’t be disappointed. I plan on returning to the Redford again!
