The wife and I loved the cruise. The Captain was very engaged and the dolphins were out in plenty. The return trip included a fantastic sunset and the lights in the harbor were a grand finale. Would recommend to anyone and would sail again whenever the opportunity presents itself. Oh, and the pre-trip photo op and end of the trip purchase allowed for another memory to be preserved. Thanks for the fun time!

The dolphin tour was so fun…we saw several dolphins come up but I was really hoping to see the dolphins do flips in the ocean.. overall I was still excited just to see them. The ride was fun and a little bit scary at the same time because of the waves. I must say I will definitely do it again!!

Spectacular dolphin cruise! We have went on other cruises and barely seen any dolphins. We went on the Southern Star Sunset Dolphin cruise last week and it was wonderful! They took us to areas they knew dolphins would be and we seen 50-100. That is no lie...it was a beautiful site. Our captain even followed them so we could have more time looking at them. They were full body out of the water at times chasing fish. We thoroughly enjoyed our time. The boat ride was nice and Captain was full of information about the area. Would definitely use this cruise company again.

We really enjoyed this experience. Although the dolphins were too fast to catch pictures of, I saw quite a few of them and they were beautiful. The captain was really funny and down to earth. The passengers were very friendly as well. Boarding did not take long, and there were refreshments and drinks available. Overall, this was a very peaceful and smooth ride on the water, and the views were amazing! Pricing was fair, so give this a go if youre in the area.

We decided to do the Dolphin at Sunset. The staff on board were all very kind and helpful. Especially when she helped me during the end of the ride with my sea sickness. She offered to watch my toddler while I stopped at the restroom and even came by with some essential oils to breathe in and to look far into the distance. I felt so cared for. If you have any questions or issues. They have been the best!! And would choose them again. Love that we got our family pic taken on the boat too.

We had a super great trip. Only saw 4 -5 Dauphin but the weather was good, the Captain was entertaining and being on the water was Super!! Wasnt overly crowded which was good.

The cruise was wonderful! I loved that Izvestia a bigger ship. It felt very safe going with two little kids. The crew was amazing! The captain made the trip very entertaining! I loved every bit of it!!!

Our family of 8 had a marvelous time! My mother & father-in-love was the focus of the trip and they said they loved every minute of it! We loved the boat captain & his commentary! We seen a lot of dolphins on the tour and met a lot of nice people! We even had a dance party at the end of the ride! We will come back to do it again!

We saw lots of dolphins and the Captain did his best to be sure both sides of the boat had equal opportunity. Wish the Captain had explained more about the area like when the harbour was created, what the homes were selling for etc. Although the children on board might have found that boring. 90 minutes is a good duration as the kids were getting restless.

We were on our first vacation to Florida ever, and brought along my mother-in-law who had never been on a boat. It was amazing and so much fun! We saw so many dolphins!! We fed seagulls from our hands! The crew was friendly and very polite. We liked that the money from our picture went to different charities. If we ever get back to Destin, we will definitely be back on the Southern Star cruise!!

We had an amazing time on our dolphin cruise today with our two kids (5 and 3). The boat was clean and communication beforehand was really responsive when I had questions about the tour. The boat is plenty big and we loved that you could get cold water without paying extra. And of course the most important part was that we got to see dolphins, which is obviously not 100% up to the captain, but we were able to get close to lots of pods and see them swim with the boat. Our kids had a blast! Everyone was very friendly and we would recommend choosing this company of the many options in Destin!

The Southern Star Dolphin Cruise staff provided a fun, entertaining experience. Dawson was great in assisting my brothers get my disabled father on board. The crew was very engaging and professional. We even had post-cruise conversation. I danced and sung along with other cruisers to the lively music. The captain took us to the right area to see several active dolphins. It was a beautiful sight. I really enjoyed myself. I would definitely recommend Southern Star. You will not be disappointed.

Most memorable part of our trip. Our vacation ends tomorrow and both of our girls agree that this was their favorite part of the trip. Captain Jason knew right were to find the dolphins and made sure all parts of the ships could see them. We I would definitely do this tour again in the future and I love the fact that if you for some reason you don’t see dolphins, which the captain said has only happened five out of 600 trips in the last year, you get a voucher for a return trip sometime in the future. We probably saw 20 different dolphins as well as a large number of sharks and it was a great way to learn a little bit of local history and see the beautiful shoreline.I should also add that while we have been pretty Covid conscious, we appreciated the fact that they required masks to board and to leave the ship. We chose to arrive extra early so that we could get seats at the very front of the ship on the top deck and we felt safe the entire time.

Amazing Christian based, family fun dolphin cruise. My husband and I had never seen dolphins in the wild before, and the Southern Star did not disappoint. We loved it! This cruise is a must if you are in Destin, Florida. 😊

We had a great time! The captain was very informative and the speaker system insured he was clearly heard. The crew was professional. When we got into some of the bigger waves we were pleased that we were on one of the bigger vessels. We saw several dolphins. Because of the great experience we had on this cruise our friends, you will be vacationing here in a couple of weeks, plan on booking.

This cruise was our absolute favorite part of our trip!! The crew and captain were so engaging and absolutely incredible. We saw atleast 20 + dolphins. You can buy alcohol/soft drinks/food and souvenirs for an extremely fair price. Would go back and highly suggest you all do the same!!!

This was our first boat ride and seeing the dolphins with our 3 children and it was quite Delightful. The staff was kind and professional and not afraid to talk to you. The Captain was so Awesome, he guided us every moment with where we were and where we were going. The view was utterly breathtaking!!! We had a great time on the cruise and I was VERY hopeful to see some dolphins! I tried not to get my hopes up too high; they are living creatures after all and we cant control where they are at any given moment. I was impressed that they said if we didnt see ANY, they would give us tickets to come back another day. BUT, Im happy to report that we didnt need to come back another day!! We had the opportunity to see SEVERAL dolphins! It was amazing!! I highly recommend this excursion to anyone visiting Destin! 💓🐬Two thumbs up!!😉

My husband and I spent our 8th anniversary aboard the Southern Star for the dolphin cruise. It was amazing. We saw lots of dolphins and a beautiful sunset. The price was very reasonable and I would recommend it to family and friends.

Overall such a great experience. Saw so many dolphins and sharks! Even a baby dolphin! The whole crew was friendly and made the ride so much fun. It was great to see the views of the shore. Our 5yo says she loved the boat. Even our nervous 2yo was glued to the edge watching the water. We did the 8:30 cruise which was a great time for our kids. Would definitely go again!

Incredible experience! Was running later than hoped and we received a call letting us know about eta, where to park, exactly where to find the ticket booth etc., at the pavilion we were greeted by lovely, kind staff once we arrived. Check in was swift and easy. The ride itself was excellent. The captain was very entertaining and energetic, he had great facts and fun trivia to listen to while we were searching for dolphins which of course we saw plenty of…the boat crew was kind and full of hospitality. We will ride this cruise again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dolphin cruise! The captain was very capable driving through the busy harbor on Labor Day weekend. We found several dolphins and our captain and the captain of another dolphin cruise worked together. We were able to see dolphins chasing another boat and jumping over the waves. Well worth the money!

I liked it. Didnt see a ton of dolphins but it was a cool experience. The smoothies are delicious. Tried the strawberry 🍓 and mango 🥭. If I go to Destin next year I want to try their pirate ship for my kiddos. I would ride this again though. They are also willing to give you another ticket if for any reason no dolphins are seen by anyone. Thats pretty awesome. All in all 90min with the option to use the bathroom and have food and drinks. Thats a good ride.

My wife and I went to Destin from Oklahoma for the first time. She loves Dolphins and wanted to see some. They are professional. They serve drinks and snacks on the ship. It had plenty of room. And they do sale photos of you getting on the ship for around $15.00. We got to see the harbor bay and went out into the Gulf of Mexico to find the Dolphins. We did finally see some on our way back in. The captain did a good job of making sure everyone was able to see them.

Great tour!! The boat was roomy and lots of space to see the dolphins and sharks! Food/drinks for sale was good to eat before we set out on the tour. We saw lots of dolphins and the weather was so nice with a great breeze. 1 1/2 hours was a good time- not too short or too long. On our way back there was a treasure box for the kids to pick from and music playing so the kids had a dance party- a really fun way to end the ride!

Great for kids! Definitely geared towards families but would be fun for everyone. I love how the tour included local facts and they were so good about finding the dolphins. The concession stand was also an added bonus. This boat was so much better than others since the kids could walk around and not have to sit the whole time.

We showed up at 1230p inquiring about a dolphin cruise, not expecting to get one today or at least not for several hours. We were happy to find that we could board one in one hour. So that was a major plus for us. The crew was great and made this trip so much more enjoyable than we expected. We saw dolphins in the distance and riding the waves near the ship. The whole experience lasted longer than we expected which was another plus for us. I’d recommend this experience and this company for sure. We’ll be back and do a sunset cruise next time. This was the highlight of our trip so far!!

Our group had such a wonderful and thrilling experience with Southern Star! It was our first dolphin tour that any of us had ever been on and it did not disappoint. We will be going on many more of these in the future!

We liked the boat, captain and length of the ride. Also the fruit drinks were the best that we had. However everything could be improved under the boat viewing area (windows, aka glass bottom) where it wasn’t very large & maybe give a discount on days that it isn’t viewable. Like when we we’re there.

We have been on this dolphin boat tour twice and had a great experience both times! We had an added bonus of seeing sharks in the emerald waters this time in addition to the dolphins and it was such a great experience! The captain was amazing, funny, and made the boat ride fun. We look forward to going on this boat ride again when we come back to Destin. Very Professional and well worth the money! Great for a family outing!

This was a one of a kind experience! Total blast and the crew was amazing and very attentive. Shout out the the captain for the awesome steering even in the rainy choppy waters. Many dolphins spotted and they do a great job of making sure you see a dolphins for sure.

Hi, my family enjoyed the Dolphin Cruise so much! It was very reasonably priced. The boat left right on time, and even though it was a packed tour, it was not crowded in the least. Moving about the ship was easy, and there was no difficulty reaching the snack counter or rest room. The Capt. and crew were very accommodating as well. We saw multiple dolphins in the harbor and went for a jaunt out to the Gulf. The open water was choppy - looked pretty scary - so the Capt took us back to the harbor for calmer waters to finish the cruise. We got to see an awesome sunset to round out the trip. Highly recommended!

We had a great time on the Southern Star dolphin tour! The entire crew was very professional and kind, but Dawson went above and beyond! We will definitely be back on our next trip! And just an FYI, tips are accepted (and well deserved) but make sure to bring cash for that. We didn’t have any and I hated not being able to do that for the crew. The captain was sure we not only got to see dolphins, but sharks and a sea turtle too. It was a great time and comes highly recommended!

We enjoyed it. We only saw dolphins from a far about three times but that’s how it is. You may see them close or maybe not which is still fine. The boat ride itself was great. A lot nice areas to see and the captain was very informative and amusing. It’s fun and we would come again. I would love to try different times in the day. We went at the 1:30 pm and it was a cloudy to sunny day. There was showers earlier but luckily we had none during the ride. I would recommend to come much earlier because parking, but I guess it depends what time you go. It’s fun to be on the boat!

This cruise was so fun! Very nice staff. We went to the 1:30 cruise and saw sharks, stingrays AND dolphins! It didn’t disappoint. High tide was an hour prior to departure so the water was INSANELY BEAUTIFUL!!! you could see straight down to where the sharks were and that was my sons favorite part. 💙

Our sunset cruise was very relaxing and the sunset was beautiful. We saw glimpses of dolphins but not much more. Not that it was their fault..you cant control the dolphins. We didnt really use the glass bottom part because the water was so dark and dirty you couldn’t see anything. We did see a lot of neat things otherwise. But we had a good time & the staff are very nice. We also stayed at the Harbor walk to see fireworks afterward which were a great show/added bonus every Thursday.

All staff was friendly and very accommodating. My 3 girls are mighty needy and they helped them every time with a smile on their face. The captain was especially funny because he could hear my daughter asking me questionsand he would announce the answer over the intercom. Captain is funny yet very informative and knowledgeable. We had a great time on the boat. We saw dolphins and sharks which my daughters really enjoyed. The crew on the boat was amazing as well. The Dolphin cruise was great. We saw lots of dolphins and even a few sharks. We would recommend others for this cruise. I like that they did 100% guaranteed. If we didn’t see dolphins then they would allow you to go back out again at a later date for free, with no expiration. I was happy that we got to see lots of dolphins as well as a few sharks though. We had a great time! I’m glad we chose Southern Star because the waves were huge today but I still felt safe because it is a bigger boat. Warning: you will get soaked if you’re in the front. We did see lots of dolphins and it was a pleasant low stress experience.

We take this fun cruise a couple times a year. It is always a blast! The captain 👩‍✈️Is very entertaining and the crew are attentive to passengers. This will not disappoint!

If you do not come across dolphins during the trip (6pm cruise and choppy waters from weather). The company will let you reschedule with a lifetime ticket. We used this 2 days later (11am clear day) and had seen numerous dolphins and sharks. Make sure you stand at the front of the ship, where you first see the photographer for best viewing. Also we had a group of 11 people of all ages. The crew was also great, bring tip money, well deserved.

This cruise was very fun and interactive. I loved the Captains personality. It was just me and husband, but we would love to bring our daughters back. What sealed the deal was the Captain telling us that Jesus loves us. Amen!

Captain Jason and his crew made our sight-seeing tour a phenomenal success. This was our familys first time to take such a boat trip, and it was absolutely memorable. Our favorite part was before docking, the Captain offered up a quick prayer, and thats something there isnt enough of today.The boat was clean and well maintained, with a well-stocked commissary in the galley.

This was for sure one of the highlights of our girls graduation trip to Destin. We had never been on a dolphin cruise before, but Jason and the crew made it so much fun. We saw lots of dolphins, sharks and even saw a sea turtle pop its head out of the water!The crew was kind and helpful with lots of laughs. Jason made sure each side of the boat got a chance to see the dolphins. There are bathrooms and snacks on board for a decent price which was nice to have available. Great family activity for the beach. Crew was friendly and knowledgeable. Captain was great too! Clean boat and fun activities for kids while aboard. Was told what the glass bottom portion was about or when was best to go down to see. Drive was good and pointed out dolphins all oh we. They are so beautiful. Have a very nice time.

If you want a good dolphin spotting experience, this cruise is for you! My wife and I took our kids and Southern Star did not disappoint. The captain was very informative and made sure everyone had a chance to see the dolphins once he spotted them. He will literally make circles if he has to in that big boat. We wanted an experience to remember with our Dad. The Southern Star Dolphin Cruise delivered!!! For less than $35pp, we spent about 2 hours on the water. We saw numerous dolphins; but, the cruise would have been memorable even without the dolphins! The narrator was knowledgeable, with a great sense of humor. It was truly a blessing!

Our children LOVED the Southern Star and once we were out in the water seeing some of the other cruise boats made me glad we chose this one. We had a great time on this dolphin cruise. We did a 4 oclock cruise and seen several dolphins. We seen a pod that had a dolphin that the Captain said was probably only a day or two old. If you take one of these cruises, just enjoy seeing it all with your eyes, it happens to quickly to fumble for a camera.Also, sit anywhere on the boat, the Captain, Mates, and other cruisers will alert when there is a dolphin and the Captain does an amazing job at sitting still or turning the boat so everyone gets a chance to view.

My family of 15 was on vacation in Destin and booked to do the Dolphin Cruise.We ran into some difficulty trying to get to the location she to traffic and find a parking spot. The young lady (I wish I could remember her name) gave us a courtesy call to see if we were on our way so that we wouldnt get left.Once we arrived we had issues getting down to the dock die to a family member being in a wheelchair. This same young lady went above and beyond to ensure that we made it to the boat. We were late getting there but the captain was nice enough to stay and wait until we were able to get on.Once on the boat we had an AMAZING time. The captain was friendly and had a great sense of humor.We absolutely had a GREAT time. I highly recommend this excursion.

Went on our first dolphin tour - bonus was the sharks! Super awesome recommend it! Takes a minute for them to get out of the bay but the experience is pretty awesome!!! The captain sees a dolphin and your free return ticket is out the door! So keep your eyes peeled 😂

Fantastic experience! We saw many dolphins and sharks on our tour. The amazing captain explained that it really varies per tour how many you see, told us where to look for them around the boat, and turned the boat so all people had a chance to see. We just happened to come upon a group of 20 dolphins together, out on the gulf waters, as well as some pairs and single dolphins on the way out and the way in. The views in the harbor, varieties of boats going in and out, and just the experience going out on those beautiful waters was a real treat! The captain also pointed out the dark masses of a sharks beneath the waters along our boat!

Although we didnt see the dolphins we did see the beautiful water, beaches and other sights along the way. They did all they could to help us see dolphins! My gf and I had a wonderful time on the dolphin cruise! The directions were clear and easily understandable/we had no trouble finding the booth and then locating the area for the boat. The experience was a great time whether it was the jokes the captain made, fun facts about places or boats we passed and of course the dolphins we spotted! I would definitely recommend this cruise for families, friends or anyone who wants to have an amazing time!

We got to see lots of dolphins. There was shade and an inside galley with shade. Lots of snack and drinks options for reasonable prices. The kids really enjoyed it. The Captain was humorous and entertaining. Most of all, I love their story of how they came to be a business. God Bless the Southern Star!

I had such a wonderful time!! Our captain was so much fun, and all of the mates were awesome! It was so great to see the sunset while also seeing the wildlife. This will be a must-do for every trip I take from her on out.

My family and I really enjoyed this trip! Definitely well worth the money, especially for how high everything is typically priced in the Destin area. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. The Captain was funny and had some really cool information about the area. We saw a bunch of dolphins and sharks, and it didnt seem rushed. We were on the water for about 90 minutes, and it cost around $90 for my family of 5. Well be back for the Pirate cruise for sure!
