I am a supervisor for Excel Plumbing. Material yards tend to be filled with short staffed grumpy workers. This place is the antithesis. I have yet to meet a staff member at Des Plaines that was not helpful, professional, or kind. They know their business and go above and beyond to help my company Excel in bringing the finest product to our customers.

I have bought mulch, top soil,sod, & a brick fireplace from Des Plaines material. They have always been accommodating, helpful and courteous. I ordered mulch and had it delivered today. I miscalculated the mulch that I needed and they were very accommodating in making a second quick delivery. I spoke with Theresa on the phone and she was very understanding. Thanks again,Joe

I work for a contractor and this is our go to place for all of our construction needs. The staff inside and out side are very helpful on your needs. They are very professional and treat you with the upmost respect. I sometimes hang around the counter while having my free donut and pastries which they have every morning and just joke with the staff. They really make you feel like part of their team. AA++ for this place

Excellent place for top soil, peat moss, mulch, gravel, sand, paving bricks, sump pumps, sewer pipes, PVC, adhesives, contractor supplies, plumber tools, batteries but the best is advice on how to solve problems on your project from always available owner. If you don’t have truck to pick up, they deliver. Lots of personnel ready to help customers in English, Spanish, Italian. No advertising; you wouldn’t know it’s there. For pros who know but if you’re an individual & can find it, you’re in luck. Wear jeans & work boots. If you come at right time & know where to look, pick up a donut. Look for ordinary dirt driveway across Golf Road from Holy Family Hospital. They deliver dry concrete ingredients to your job & mix amount you need on site with water from same truck.
