My flight was delayed so I called when I landed (4:40 & my reservation was to pick up at 3:30) because I was worried they close at 5 (which they do, despite their automated recording saying 6) and when I asked about getting there before they close they said “oh yeah, we cancelled your reservation”…. They made no effort to contact me to see if I was still coming, or to let me know my reservation had been cancelled (before I spend $50 on an Uber to get there).. it was unbelievable that they cancel it if your don’t arrive within an hour but make no effort to contact you before it’s canceled or notify you after. COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE & WILL LEAVE YOU WITHOUT A CAR IF YOUR FLIGHT IS DELAYED. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS HERTZ!!!
I wish I was able to rate this location 0 stars. My flight was canceled due to bad weather. I called the office as soon as they opened to inform them that the airline rebooked me a flight and I wouldn’t be out there until later in the day. Kreg was very unhelpful and insisted that if I didn’t pick up my rental within the two hour window of my reservation they would give the car to the next customer. I prepaid my booking by the way, everything was paid for. I spoke with hertz customer service and they told me that I had 24 hours to pick up my vehicle, they would not speak with the office directly to have them hold my vehicle. I then spoke with Ralph and he told me that customer service was wrong, they will not hold my vehicle even though I paid for it. I informed him that customer service said they would and he told me that customer service is wrong. So I landed and called to see if they had given away my vehicle and they did. Do yourself a favor and do not rent from this location. They were not sympathetic to my situation and didn’t offer to assist me in any way.
Horrible experience !!!. I let Hertz to pick up the car at the body shop where I was fixing my car. When I left rental car was in perfect condition. Next day Hertz called that car had cracked windshield. I had to pay for the repair.
Tried to use debit for rental. Gave clerk info on the phone and was told with a debit card you have to put $500 deposit instead of $200 for credit, and wait 24 hours before you can get a rental. Took and Uber to the office and was told withing seconds that I was one DNR ( do not rent) list. Neither the higher deposit or being on the list would garner a 1 star review. What does qualify is the 24 hours they had my info for without determining my eligibility. Seriously?
We were picking up our pre paid rental at 5pm. We called and they said they were unable to do it sooner. We arrived at 4:30. We had some issues with insurance while we were on the phone with our insurance company they closed at 5pm, when we were scheduled to pick up our vehicle. I would suggest another location.
I was flying in to OHare from Orlando and couldnt rent at the Airport because they were sold out. I booked through the Mannheim Rd. office and I couldnt be more grateful. The night before I fly out Ralph calls to apologize because there was a problem with Hertz system and he said that their office wouldnt have my rental available. Cant tell you how instantly stressful that was. I asked Ralph Can you find me anything close? thinking he could check with other Hertz places around. Ralph says Give me a few minutes, Ill call you back. 20 minutes later he calls me back Ill take care of you, just come here. and true to his word he had a car for me.Outstanding Customer Service doesnt mean everything is always perfect.Outstanding Service is when something goes sideways and how you address it. Ralph was outstanding.When I show up Ralphs not there but Craig is. Craig was super polite and professional. Tells me everything I need to know and gets me out the door. This would have been 5 stars right there but Craig and Hertz continued to impress. When I returned the rental I still had to get back to the Airport. I unsuccessfully tried to call Taxis from two companies. Im not an Uber/rideshare person but Craig tells me thats my best option so Im trying and struggling with the Uber app. Craig ends up calling someone and arranges an Uber to get me back to the airport.Ralph and Craig literally went above and beyond what anyone could have reasonable expected at every opportunity.Ralph and Craig didnt just make their Mannheim office my preferred place to rent when I come to Chicago, they made Hertz my preferred Rental Car Company.
Please dont ever go there even if you have booking they will got give you a car saying they dont have and most important thing they have a lots of car standing outside to rent but the guys seating inside dont want to work so will simply say you we dont have car and will joke around instead of working.
Uber rental reservation pick up horrible! Last time coming to this location unbelievable wait time! I been waiting for more then 2 hours as I speak and have 4 people in front of me and 1 customer service representative working. The representative left for a good while and all the people here still waiting. Management here needs to get it together. Horrible experience !
Nobody answers the phone when you call. They leave early even when they know they have a late renter coming right before close. Had to go to other Hertz location after waiting an hour in 10 degree weather. I am a monthly renter and will not be renting here again. Car wasnt clean, they did no walk around, and when there was any issue there was no customer service.
My Sister prefers this location because of the service she receives from Ms. Fashon.. shes very responsive, and will help you with what your needs..
This place and staff cant manage their inventory, and dont take care of their customers at all. Worse yet, theyre inept at refunding you for your pre-payment on a car rental they were unable to provide! Avoid! I repeat: Avoid!
Recently bought a BMW 530 from Andy, oil change light popped on after 2 days. Called Andy to see when the last time the car was serviced, his exact words “take it to BMW, pay a couple of dollars, and have a peace of mind.” Turns out, they sold me a car that was due for service in 56 miles. I only found this out after taking it BMW (like Andy advised). Also, I called corporate and they were able to tell me the car was last serviced at 15K, and was due for another oil change at 25K (I bought the car right under 25K miles.) Called the manager, Joe, (after speaking to corporate they confirmed Joe is not the manager), Joe’s advice was just as useless as Andy. Joe decided to let me know that sometimes they forget to reset after an oil change, but BMW and Hertz corporate office were able to confirm that the car was in fact due for an oil change, and corporate also mentioned, the dealership should have completed the oil change before I bought and even after I called.Just buy from a BMW dealership to get that “peace of mind” Andy spoke so highly of. If I could give this dealership zero star, I would.
Terrible place to rent a car. I made reservation online for a van. Someone called me a couple days later when I was at the airport and told me there was no car for me. On top of that they forgot to refund my money. I have to call again to let them know I have still been waiting for that refund. I will probably end up disputing it with my credit card.

The ladies who worked here were nice and friendly, which is the only reason I’m not giving a one star review. I rented a car for Uber. The branch did not bother having it cleaned. I’m a former Enterprise employee, so it was shocking they did not have a clean car for me. At Enterprise, we had make sure the cars were spotless. And in a pandemic, I expect things to be extra clean! But I had to do all the work myself, taking time out of my day, time that could’ve been spent making money. There was also damage to the car that would never slide at Enterprise. On top of all that, the car is at almost 100,000 miles! We never let cars stay in a fleet at Enterprise that long! Very disappointed with this rental.

This hertz is the absolute worse hertz rental I have ever been to. Attitude was terrible and I always felt like I had to force myself to be nice and like I had to beg for things. The lady on the phone was awful and completely rude like she didn’t care about her job or customers. Picking up my rental was a huge hassle. Terrible experience and very time consuming. Returning the car was even worse. The guy promised me 7 days and I WILL NOT be charged for the rental and after I returned the car they said I have to pay 10.27 due to going over my limit. They said due to the confusion they will change this and I won’t be charge. But of course I still got charged. So right there I was lied to twice! Overall the experience from phone to pick up to drop off was trash. I would rate 0/5 if I could. I’d rather not have a rental if I knew this experience was going to be like this.
Great service here and we had a great rental. Ransford was super-helpful and nice on both the pick-up and return days. Mimi was also very nice. 1000x better than the previous Hertz we used for years and recently left due to the other places service. Highly recommended...the only downside is that they close at 6pm. Very slow service. There was only one employee working check in and bringing the cars around both times I was there. The employee was friendly which definitely made it manageable but the process to pick up and drop off a car is ridiculous.

I wish I could give you no stars.I HAD THE HANDS DOWN WORST EXPERIENCE WITH YOUR OFFICE, YOUR RENTAL, YOUR STAFF AND THE OVERALL PROCESS. the reservation was made through my insurance company without issue. I showed up to pick up my car, and was informed after a 20+ minute wait that he didnt have any appropriate cars due to a conference. Ryan (after another long wait and over all exasperation) found a car for me to use, which was older and not fully cleaned. When returning the car the next day, I was instructed by the office to leave the vehicle at the body shop because no one could assist in driving me to the shop. I was also instructed to call back the next morning to remind the day person to pick up the car. I called the next morning, spoke to someone who indicated that was another branchs responsibly, but that he would call to tell them to pick up.Fast forward to over a month later when I began to receive calls from the Hertz vehicle control department stating the car had never been returned. I called spoke to both Kevin and Ryan who indicated they hadnt gotten around to picking it up or asking the Rand Rd location to get it, but to ignore the calls from Hertz corporate they would take care of it.10 days later after still no resolution, I begin to receive legal notices that action would be taken against me. unable to resolve the issue through the original branch- I contacted the Rand rd location who had my issue resolved and the car picked up within two hours. unbelievable service. unbelievable that you would leave a car sitting at a shop for over a month and that the location would be unwilling to assist. I will never rent through Hertz again and am appalled that you are still operating out of that location.

I simply asked a question if a rental car can be swapped out for a different one. A lady on a phone gave a lot of attitude and seemed like she wasn’t looking forward to help me besides give attitude until she got the answers she wanted. A simple yes or no would’ve been fine with me. Overall, horrible customer service.

Not helpful at all! They make you wait for close to an hour and they are not even busy. The only reason i checked them out was Bey they where the closest to the hotel. With this service Id rather walk to enterprise they got better customer service!

NO GPS IN THE CAR ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!? and to top it off the manager was completely rude and couldve cared less. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT rent a car from this mismanaged establishment and poorly run company. I will go out of my way to NOT rent from Hertz ever again. Awful experience.
Hertz cars were as expected; clean, in excellent repair and available. The one exception with their usually peerless service was growing pains as a result of their new location off the grounds at OHare Airport outside Chicago.
Good service and great rates. The one thing I didnt like is the lack of parking spots.
The other reviews are accurate. This is the worst car rental office in the country!! I was in a hurry, and the lazy girl behind the counter refused to rent me a car because I only had a debit card. When I called their corporate customer service to complain, they said there was no reason for them to not rent to me with a debit card. Even Hertzs policies on their website said so. If youre not going to do your job, DONt WORK THERE!! GO to Advantage next door. Theyre much nicer.

First time ever renting a car and I never will from this place again. RUDEST MANAGER I HAVE EVER INTERACTED WITH! He wouldnt even tell me his name! I rented a car for the weekend through AAA and ended up having to re-do the rental at the counter. Figured out later that the guy did not put the return time correctly when re-doing my rental. While I was there I specifically said that I would be returning it after hours and the guys response was yeah thats fine just put the keys in the drop box. After returning, they charged me an extra $60 for returning after hours. After 4 days of trying to get ahold of a manger, he informed me that they charge for an extra day when you return after hours (was never informed of this even though I specifically mentioned this beforehand). When I asked why no one told me this before, his response was yeah we dont have to tell you that and he eventually hung up on me. This is the worst any manger has ever spoken to me. THIS PERSON SHOULD BE FIRED FOR THE WAY HE TALKS TO HIS CUSTOMERS.

These are the worst people I have ever dealt with. We made a reservation for a van, but when we arrived they said they rented it to someone else. FYI Hertz, thats not how reservations work. They wouldnt even call another location to see if there was another option. Customer service hung up on me twice. I m not even going to waste my time writing any more of a review. This company as a whole does not care! They dont even respond to reviews.

We purchased the 2017 Toyota Sienna LE. With 43,000 miles it was listed at $19,490. Comps on this van with the same model and miles ranging from 27,000-55,000 are priced between $18,500-$29,000. Hertz was $2,600 below the KBB suggested list price. Now, there are no negotiations at Hertz, but why would you need to based on what we researched and test drove at other dealerships. Who knows how long it wouldve taken them to finally come down to a price like that. The van is great. Took it on a 1,100 mile trip the following dayAnthony was our salesman. He was great. Interacted well with our kids and expalained everything about the used rental car situation well. He didnt force/guilt us to make a decision.Kiko was our finance guy. He was also friendly and helpful.I have no complaints about our buying experience through Hertz. If you do your research and understand that they are used rentals - so they arent going to be perfect - then go to Hertz for an easy straight forward buying experience.I do not recommend bringing older highmilage trade ins to Hertz though. They were $1,100 less than what Carmax offered us on our 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe with 117000 miles. We didnt do the trade in with Hertz. Even with the savings on taxes we could get $700 extra from Carmax.If you take your time and do your research buying from Hertz is great deal on great vehicles.

On Wednesday I had same experience what ever gust all said.I rent cars before in different place and never had any issue.But this place was my first and last time in my life I will rented from them.Unprofessional and bunch of teenagers who is working there and dont have any experience with costumer service.It is no respect to costumers at all.How in the world manager of this hertz branch tell costumer shot up and scare a costumer whit police.They want me to pay $300 buck for smoking in the car.But I am not a smoker.They rent me a car strait from body shop and the car was dirty in side and out side whit out pressure in the tires the lights was on.So my advice to all future costumer make sure before you rented any jonke cars make sure you records them take any pictures from the car and make sure they got none smoking stickers in the car.Because is only one way you will protect your self from scammers and theft.But my advise to all of you do not go there if you want to rent, than rent from different compamys.

Horrible customer service the female with braids has a horrible attitude and I don’t understand why she was hired. She had an horrible attitude with customers on the phone as well. Management wasn’t great either as I said I wanted to cancel my reservation he said ok and just let me sit at the counter after I was finished.

Worst place to buy a car ever!! I Bought a car there and there was a problem with it and they told me the car has no problems at all. Before buying the car, the car window said it had a warranty on it. After a week later i found a problem with it and it was the ball joints that were bad. I took it back to get it fix and they said they couldnt fix anymore cause I drove it off the lot. They dont even deserve a full star at all! Worst customer service ever!!

I use to be a loyal Hertz Gold member, but after doing business with this location I have moved all of my business to Enterprise and will never go back. Last year I rented a SUV from Hertz for a Scout Trip and another location was not able to provide the SUV, so a regional manager had to fix the problem the night before we left for our trip. This year I rented two full size trucks a month in advance and the day we were supposed to pick up the trucks I called the location to confirm. I called several times and they put me on hold 4 hours times each time being on hold for 10 minutes until they hung up on me. After finally getting to speak with someone who was incredibly rude I asked if they had my vehicles, and they said that they would not be able to provide those vehicles. They didn’t call or do anything to let me know that they would not be able to meet my request when they had a whole month to let me know. They came back and said we have two medium SUVs. I explained that those would not be able to transport 8 scouts, 2 leaders, and a week’s worth of gear. This time Hertz didn’t resolve the issue, or even call to apologize after our Scout Unit had to find two trucks on a last minute notice. They are completely unprofessional and fail to honor reservations.
Horrible service. She wouldnt let us speak and kicked us out cause we had a problem with bill. Worst customer service ever. Turns out she was wrong and called to apologize which we had none of it. We called there customer service which was awesome and they took care of problem. Some companies just have some bad apples.
More worried about Lyft drivers than actual rental service. If you like not being able to park anywhere without blocking people in and mind numbingly slow service this is the place for you.

They charged my card for over 600$ for the car we rented out BUT our insurance was supposed to cover 400$ so just because their unprofessional staff never put insurance info on file they charged 600$! PLUS they sent a letter saying we still owe this 600$ and sent our file to collections!! What the hell?? THE WORST RENTAL COMPANY
Stay away. Worst place ever. Worst customer service. Over charge me for 4 extra days. I returned car on Saturday 5/27 They charge till Tuesday on 5/30. I explained maneger Rabsford M Addo about the problem and he didnt want to hear me. He was rude and unprofessional and he told me he dont have time to tolk to me because he has different customers. But I am also a customer.I field very discriminated and miserable. I will never ever use your service again.
They accept Debit cards and offered the cheapest price($50 less than nearby car rentals). I didnt mind using the Advantage Shuttle(to and from the airport) and walking a very short distance to the Hertz entrance. At pick up, I made note of any damages and they were noted by an employee. In person, I was told thered be a $200 hold in addition to the rental total and given a a pre-receipt with the total amount. The hold was taken off about 2 days later. Drop off was super quick and easy.Optional insurance fees were waived(although, there was pressure to add those options and even told that it was something that had to be added). Overall, I would come here again.

These people are so unprofessional. My son accidentally left his employee parking pass in the rental. I called the next morning informing them if his mistake they said they would call me back...nothing! Since then Ive had to call 6 times and I have yet for someone to return my call! Then they leave me on hold for almost 20 mins! They are so unconcerned with their job. Speaking with them is like Im talking to a Zombie where is the customer service? Cant even answer a question or return a call...RUDE
The first experience with Hertz was ok, just ok, but this last one was horrible..They gave me a rental with Change Oil and sensitive breaks. The manager was plain RUDE. He told me, you can wait around for another one or just take the car. He would not honor a courtesy upgrade to me.. I have severe neck problems, and was taking this rental out of state.. Also with my child, ... How could someone feel safe to drive a car with a service maintenance light coming on... I was so upset.... Not friendly at all... I am going back to Enterprise, never a problem with them.. Anyway, I took the car to Ohare location, and they were GREAT... No problems, they could not believe they would release a car with oil light on... They were not happy about having a service issue car too... With my replacement rental, I felt safe... We came into a lot of rain, and I know the original rental with bad/sensitive brakes that D Pl Rental locatioin gave me, for sure would of not handled properly.. Anyway, he is trying to charge me extra, and I had a discounted rate. I am not happy with a manager being so unfriendly and non accommodating. Top things off, the car smelled in the inside.. NO one should be given a car with any warning/maintenance lights on... .
