I fired them. I was considering going back but as before when I voiced concerns I was told they would look into it. Instead of validation, which does not mean agreement, my issues were dismissed with Ill look into it I had stopped any communication with my former worker unless in emails or text because I would be told one thing and then another. I asked to unenroll for six months and was told I couldnt. I ended up threatening to contact my insurance company, accused them of denying me of my constitutional rights to make medical decision before they accepted my unenrolling. I offered this time to give them proof but they didnt want it. After my unenrolling I was contacted months later and asked what had happened. I was told they didnt know about any of it but I was welcome to come back. I had followed the grievance process as much as I was allowed, never got past my workers supervisor, but no one knew anything about the situation. If they want to start you in a program get a physical copy of the application and the actual rules because for strawhacker I was given multiple different reasons I was denied, and then told I broke to many leases and moved to much. I was released from the leases when I threatened to get the city inspection involved. General assistance was applied for in my name for an address I never lived at and when I flipped my lid my worker, who had applied, said she would look into it. I had a vehicle that needed work the mechanic I go to when I physically cant do the work confirmed what I had been told about who should be applied with because he got work from them a few times a month. I was told by my worker and several others they had never heard of it and they would ask someone... I said Id give them my mechanics number.... I know about more programs than them but a worker has to apply for them. I was denied my medical rights of dispute, decision and devalued by multiple different social workers. They filed faults information with the Polk County general assistance, filed faults information with my insurance company and flat out lied.
Over 2 years, and theyve done absolutely nothing for me, besides take state funding for doing nothing for me. They havent helped to find affordable housing (told I have to do that myself & Id be homeless if I relied on their help with housing) transport is my problem too...fail to see what they actually DO, aside from tote around a list of other agencies that may do something for you. This program is a joke that exploits the disabled in Polk County.
The entire staff is so thoughtful and helpful. Wonderful place.
Was a client for years and when the few good staff left it went downhill fast from putting clients off when they need something too gossiping controlling falsified reports to lying on record with courts luckily for me the judge believed me I wouldnt chances if youre thinking about this place for friends or loved ones might seem like a good choice but it wont be in the LONG RUN. Trust me dont waste the time
I was a client 8 years plus okay until a certain few individuals moved higher up and good ones were lost John and Jeff. One be cause they treat good employees like trash same as some clients. Gossiping forget to show up or only when they feel necessary also took its upon themselves to falsely change my diagnosis on paper to hide things i said about there company when it got bad. Absolutely horribly run i could go on and on but rather just tell everyone NOT A GOOD IDEA. THEY WILL PROBABLY ERASE THIS REVIEW BUT HOPEFULLY SOME SEE IT. WOULDNT RECOMMEND IT TO MY WORST ENEMY. Great staff! Very caring and committed to helping clients!
It made a lot of promises and some of them I really need them to remember to remind me of stuff and then they forget just as much as me and when I forgot remember the stuff I was supposed to do and then it was too late and they promised me about you know helping me clean my apartment just to pick some stuff up cuz my bad back now theyre telling me they never made any promises like that
This agency is a joke. We needed help for our son. They didnt return calls promptly, didnt keep the parents informed and placed our son in a group home that is run down, has mice, and the residence are allowed to drink and do drugs. Think twice about working with this organization!
The staff treat clients with respect and help to make the transition from shelter services to apartment living as easy as possible.
Staff very timely when answering emails, calls, etc. They advocate for those who cant.
