The most relaxing yet professional salon I have been to in years. The cleanliness of Jake and Erins workspaces has always been apparent and consistent. They have stepped up and are conscientious about the new Covid protocols of sanitizing and wearing masks.

I’ve been in Des Moines almost two years and I’ve been just about everywhere. I went to Neon Heart looking for a different style with a bald fade, and I was very professionally guided through how I could achieve that look by Jake. He’s a talented barber who’s not afraid to do take his time to do the right job, and he’s good company. I left with exactly what I wanted on the first visit, and very impressed.

I cannot say enough good things about Erin and Jake at Neon Heart. I was referred here by an employee, and theyve basically become the hairdressers for half of our team and family members now. My husband goes to Jake for barbering and his hair has never looked better. Seriously. Hes so happy with it and loves chatting with Jake. I see Erin for my hair and shes so kind, thorough and has helped me actually style my bangs. She does the most incredible fashion colors and extensions for my employees, it is a joy to see them come to work after their appointments. Their office is downtown on 4th Street near Fongs. It is a bit hidden, but worth it. Ive never had a challenge finding a parking space on Court or 4th when I go during the day.

Jake is very knowledgeable about his craft and does great work! Always happy with the end result.

I have been seeing Erin for a while now. I love how honest she is when it comes to my hair. Sometimes my ideas are not the best ideas for my type of hair and she softly guides me to how my idea may work better. She is probably the single most talented color artist I have seen or worked with. I have been an open palette for her before to let her artistry shine and she did not disappoint! I will continue to allow her artistry to shine! Thank you Erin, I can not wait to see where our next creative adventure takes us!!

I have been going to Erin for over 5 years and she never disappoints. If you are looking for just a cut or looking to do something big this is the place to go. My husband loves going to Jake to get his hair and beard all trimmed up. They are both amazing at their jobs and are great people to know. Erin and Jake are truly the power couple dream team. Erin has been doing my hair for four years now and I’m so loyal to her that I recently drove 15 HOURS all the way from my new home in Montana just to have her style my dreadlocks. She’s incredibly talented and versatile, and they both share a keen attention to detail. I’ve been shaving my head for years, but never have I had such a smooth head as I did when Jacob straight razored me. They’re the bomb and I cannot sing their praises enough, big love for my dream team!

Your days of settling for a nondescript cut and slog to a costcutters or mediocre folksy barber who cant cut your hair well but will be upset if you dont talk to them incessantly about the hawkeyes or the weather is over.Quit trying to be cheap on your haircuts. That $8 haircut with coupon looks like it. But more to the point, it feels like it. Your haircut experience itself is unenjoyable, its dead time, its a chore. Treat yourself to some selfconfidence and relaxation, maybe a straight razor shave.Neon Heart is worth every penny. They will take care of you, put you at ease and make you look good. Its not a haircut mill. Its not a factory floor of barbers. Jake & Erin will massage your melon and you will be so lucky. Cannot recommend more.
