Great experience here. I had some repair work quoted at another place for $1000 and Joey’s did it for $650. Friendly staff and the work needed was well explained. Final bill was actually a little less than quoted since the labor wasn’t as much as they anticipated.

Joey’s is awesome! Everyone is kind and knowledgeable. Went in for a standard diagnostic for my 2007 Infiniti with 200,000+ miles. I worked with Joey himself, who started the company out of his garage and has grown it from the ground up. It’s evident he cares for his costumers and gives each vehicle the time and attention required. Cost is very reasonable and they clearly explained everything. Will never go back to my dealership for servicing!

Best auto shop in Des Moines! Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They will explain what is wrong without condescending to you. Trustworthy and have never tried to upsell me or convince me to get unnecessary repairs. Always on the level and willing to talk through options. The only place I go for repairs.

I called and made an appointment because I had a host of issues with my old Prius. I knew I was having problems with the tires and needed an oil change, a new serpentine belt and I figured something else would pop up since the car was old. The guys at the shop were friendly and knowledgeable. They took time to explain what they thought needed to be done and why. All in all, I had about 6 or 7 things that needed to be done. They got all the work done in a day.When I went to pick the car up, Joey even came out and explained that hed checked into my leaking tire (they are not a tire shop so dont replace or patch tires) and he said it was likely a bead leak and suggested a couple places for me to get it fixed.The whole staff was very kind and it felt like a very fair price for how much work I had done. I will definitely be back and would recommend them to anyone needing general car repairs or maintenance.

Had an alignment done in my truck initial experience with Joeys auto shop was they seem very trustworthy and knowledgeable about vehicles they work on. Finding trustworthy mechanics Seems hard these days but Joey seemed pretty honest.

Joey’s offers quality work and honest prices! This place is a hidden gem on the south side - their new location across from the airport is super nice, clean, modern, and upscale - not what you’d expect from your average auto repair shop! The owner and staff are true professionals who take pride in their work, and not to mention are really cool down-to-earth guys that explain things clearly to you in an upfront honest manner. Also worth mentioning that they do extensive work on foreign cars. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great auto repair experience!

Went in and asked if they could take a look and do an estimate for repairs for the front end of my car as I had gotten into an accident. They said an estimate is $200 without diagnostics which is ridiculous. Do NOT go there if you want honest work

I called to see if they could re gear my transmission, unfortunately they can’t, but the guy I talked to pointed me to a couple shops that might be able to, and had a good conversation with him. I’d recommend using this place for the customer service alone.

Sit back and relax cuz this is gonna be long, Ive spent many years in the customer service field so my expectations for their service was HUGE. I walked in and immediately was greeted with a smile which I expect every place I go to. I thank you very much for the acknowledgement as soon as I walked through the door.I told Ben exactly what I wanted and needed to happen. Having O.C.D my car was making noises that I needed fixed. Also getting ready to take a long trip and I wanted my car in good working order for that trip.Took it in on a Friday they did diagnostic told me everything that need to be done and whats most important that should be done, however we decided to get everything done, got it back on the following Tuesday and by doing so they saved me 20,000 to 30,000 cuz I was going to trade my vehicle in for something else cuz I was so very frustrated with it.Their explanation of everything that needed to be done was honest and fair. (A special thanks to my brother for being the mechanic in the family helped us to decide what to do).All the noises are gone and my car is like brand new..awesome job guys, you will now be our go to mechanics!! (My brother is out of state)I especially like the print out that they give after the work is done, easy to understand and read, not so much at other places. Having the 2 yr 24,000 mile warranty is the confidence needed for the long trip.Thank you so very much Joey and Ben for your honesty and treating my vehicle as if was your vehicle. Let me start by saying..I have never been to a business that is so welcoming. Thats why I will never ever spend my money any where else. Joeys is the only shop I will let touch my vehicles. Very honest and straight forward. And the customer service is on point. We had taken our yukon to someone else prior to him and basically got ripped off 800.00$.. And the problem was still there. Tried calling the person for several weeks and they never answered phone or responded to messages. Took it to Joeys and the problem was fixed and we have had no more problems. So if you want it fixed and fixed right without any funny business I suggest Joeys, you will not be disappointed. By far the best shop in Des Moines.

Love these guys! I used to do my own work, but no longer have the time. I love when mechanics will explain what they do and why in depth. Being a girl, I get lied to a lot because nobody expects me to know how engines work. These guys get the work done fast, and Ive never had anything break immediately a visit. Consistently amazing!

Was told by a couple of shops I would need to take in to dealership to get computer system updated to solve rough idle/rough shifting issues in my Chrysler 200. Joey was able to use a new platform he has that is the same that the dealers use to diagnosis and fix all issues by running a system (flash) update. Great experience, great people!

This is not your ordinary shop. Weve had too many unsatisfactory auto shop experiences to count, and had lost trust in the industry as a whole. Until Joeys. Our first encounter was for a job that another shop did not want to touch. That shop actually recommended Joeys, who took us in without hesitation. Our first great experience led us to bring in another vehicle, which they did a thorough job on at a very reasonable price. Recently took another vehicle in mainly for a couple intermittent problems. Hard to catch it failing unless you drive it every day. Joey himself committed the extra time it took to track down the problems. They REALLY listened to us, and kept us apprised of their progress along the way.  Love their work ethic, honesty, integrity, and commitment to a great customer experience. This shop is one of a kind and we will not go anywhere else in the future.

Joeys was great. Took them moms car to get a multi-point check done. They gave me all the details, and I learned something new about that engine while I was there!

Just got back from a deployment and my truck needed some new fluids. Joey and his staff are HONEST and straight forward. Knowledgeable guys that I can trust not to try and rip me off. I had some bad experiences with nearby shops and these guys are my go-to on the Southwest Side of Des Moines from now on.

I have been bringing in my 2002 Subaru to Joeys for the better part of a year now and I am enthused to know that I have a dependable, honest, and talented auto mechanic I can go to. He never tries to up-sell any work, he charges better than fair prices, and it seems that he is truly interested in helping me maintain my 140,000 mile vehicle without any of the racketeering that is stereotypical in my mind of the auto mechanic industry. Joey actually took the time to talk to me about a problem with my car and whether it was worth it to fix after another car shop said it would cost $1000. I went to Joey and found out it was just a simple $50 fix that the other place either missed or didnt inform me. Now I trust to go to Joey for any car problems.

Read some reviews before deciding to take my car to Joey. Got brakes replaced first and then went back and got some routine maintenance done and was very happy with both. Had some issues with the brakes and he was very flexible on replacing them at no additional cost when they were squeaky after a few months.He did a great job of laying out options on maintenance items and priority to determine what to do which was helpful for budgeting.

Very good. I am very happy to find Joeys Auto Shop as I do not like those franchise places - the cost keeps going up. Joey tells you what you NEED done, quotes a very reasonable price. He also tells you what you can get done in the future. Leaves it up to you what you want to do.

I took my Honda to Joey to replace the starter. The local Honda dealership wanted to charge me a huge amount for a refurbished starter. Joey was able to install a brand new starter with a 12 month warranty for a fraction of the cost. He was able to do the repair quickly. This is my first time with Joeys Auto Shop and I have a Volvo that requires brake job. They had me scheduled in a very professional manner and offered me rides both way to and from work. The price is very reasonable compared to other brand shops and let alone dealership. I dont know how the work is yet but so far I am very impressed by their professionalism and good customer services!

Joeys Auto Shop is where Im going from now on if ever I need repairs. Not only is Joey knowledgeable and competent but he is friendly and honest. He definitely could have charged me more for my last repair if he wanted to and I would have been none the wiser. But he didnt. He was honest and that means so much to me. Hes a mechanic you can trust. Like I said, this is where Im going from now on.

I was told it would be $95 for a synthetic oil change for a Jeep. I am not even sure how you justify this price, but you can find plenty of other places that will do it much cheaper.

He gave me a estimate then proceeded to do a great job on my Audi TT Quattro.When I went to pick it up the bill was 30% BELOW the estimate!!!!!!This is a great auto shop and the most honest and fair mechanics I have ever met let only do business with.Great Job Joey!!

Had over heating problems with my 05 pt cruiser he told me it was the head gaskets and it would be 1,800 to fix it.. replaced my radiator and the car is just fine. Wouldnt recommend these guys unless your into being ripped off.

Joey took a look at a used car that I was considering to buy the other day. He did a very thorough job and squeezed me in at the last minute, even though he was busy. He charged about half of what a nearby auto shop wanted and made sure all my questions were answered.

My first choice to have my Winnebago Rialta motorhome fixed! Joey found the problem to the LP gas leak, and showed where he turned a tiny valve off, as the three-way fridge works much better on electric plug-in or couach battery. Then the coach batteery, he replaced them gel batteries that are just awesom, and he made cables so tht it mde a whole lot easier for me to to remove the cables for winter storage. Those gel batteries did not even loose any of their charge after going through 3 winters of storage. Then my engine AC went out, he put in a new compressor, I think it is called, charged the system and all that a day before we took off for a 2000 mile trip to the east coast during the summer.Joey is by far the the best mechanic in the greater Des Moines area! He works fast, his prices are reasonable, and he is a true professional! If you have a problem with your vehicle, any vehecle, go to Joey!

This guy is crazy busy but he knows his stuff

Joey has done an excellent job with everything from a simple oil change to a more complex situation that took some digging to get down to the problem. He has been extremely fair on price, and has even given recommendation for some work outside of his scope of business.
