The dealership needs to be more informative with directions where to go when having your car serviced.The facility is very clean and great friendly staff. It would be very helpful to have service to take Customers back home. My car was serviced first thing in the morning but I had to wait to get a family member pick me up after they got home from work.

They also are great with letting me know what things are doing well, what I should be aware of and what I should look at getting done soon or right then and there. It is always a quick and easy process of going in and dropping off my vehicle to picking it up and carrying on with my day.

The price was high, they went over my car and wanted to do an $850 brake job. They wanted to change the serpentine belt that didnt even had in stock and they want to charge me $45 for retaining clips and $90 for 3 wiper blades.While the work was done it was not exceptional. They did wash the inside windows. If they would have dried them with a clean cloth that would have been better.

I came in for a regular service. I needed a few lights replaced which I was told I usually would need to make an appointment for. The person that was helping me check-in talked to the manager of service (I think) and was able to get them fixed that day. I appreciate the flexibility and the wiliness to help me out even though the shop was very busy.

I had a great experience with Hummel’s Nissan recently. I received a recall letter concerning my 2015 Nissan Ultima. I called Hummel’s Nissan and they were able to immediately schedule an appointment and even discovered another recall repair that needed to be done. I dropped the car off first thing in the morning and the work was finished in less time than originally anticipated. The service technician, Mike, was friendly, helpful and totally professional. I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Hummel’s Nissan.

After having several Honda, Toyota and most recently a VW Atlas model, we decided to try a Nissan and purchased a new Murano Platinum in March 2021. The sales portion went fine. We test drove a black unit and purchased a white one without test driving. I noticed a vibration on the way back to Ankeny and called and set up an appointment to get it remedied. I purchase new vehicles regularly so I know what they should drive like. This one had a steering vibration like no other I have ever had. After the return and attempt to repair, I was told that all tires were checked and alignment was also looked at and after the Service Department had looked it over that they found no other issues. I picked up the car and noticed again on the way back to Ankeny again that nothing had changed! I again made an appointment to find out why this car drove the way it did. Hummels Service reluctantly said to bring it down again. I did and they again said that they were not able to find any issues. I now had 646 miles on this vehicle and it is apparent that Hummels doesnt have a clue or capability to repair anything. That vibration came through the steering and the only thing I was told that could cause it was the CVT transmission!!!! Really, if it is, then fix it, but to no avail! I was told to take my problem, which they said did not exist, explained by that is how the Murano is to Nissan. I was not going to drive this very inferior car for another two years as I normally would so I sold it to another metro dealer after first giving Hummels first chance to re-purchase but did not receive a response to my offer. I did receive a typical questionnaire from corporate Nissan about 60 days after the purchase asking the typical questions of customer satisfaction. I explained in detail my issues and the Hummel response: Crickets!!!!! Surprisingly, I just received another yesterday asking how I was getting along with my Murano!!!!!! Corporate doesnt care either!! I would challenge all Murano drivers to look around before you purchase another Nissan just because you always have. There are many superior. We now have our second VW Atlas which is far superior to the Murano with the Honda, Toyota and many other current models superior as well. As you can imagine, I took a hit to sell a new 650 mile vehicle and patiently waited for 6 months for either Hummel or Nissan Corporate to reach out but neither did. My recommendation: Buy elsewhere.

I want to apologize to Cory. I hadnt noticed the problem with the charging cord when I put it in the trunk. Upon arriving home I looked at the area where the cord had been and found parts of the cord that had been chewed by some animal. When I received Corys call I had thought that maybe our cord had been legitimately mixed up with some other persons Leaf. When I made that suggestion he felt I was making a critical statement although I that wasnt my intention. I was trying to figure out how the cord was damaged when I didnt notice any problem when I put it in the trunk. I wasnt casting an insinuation of Cory and Im sorry that I made him think that I was. However I can understand how he might thought that.I was quoted a price of +$1000.00 for a replacement cord which I thought was far too expensive. I was able to get it repaired which Cory discouraged. I can understand that Nissan wants to sell products but when the cost of replacement is so high it makes sense to seek a repair as a solution and I wish he had been a bit more positive about going that route.I was satisfied with the service but the cost to diagnose the problem was too high. I can understand that the electronics required to find the problem are expensive but I wish the techs had looked at the cord immediately. saved them time and me money. but I could also have looked at the cord myself which I didnt think of.We like the Leaf a lot and were very pleased with our purchase. And our car is working fine, thanks to your service area pointing to the problem.Sincerely, Warren Erickson

My experience at Hummels was what car shopping should be like. My salesman was quick to greet me in the lot and answer my questions. I was given honest answers and he had the information readily available. I never felt pressured to look at what he wanted instead of what I wanted. After a test drive, my salesman allowed me time and space to think and make a few phone calls. I never felt any pressure to buy, just assurance that they would do whatever necessary to earn my business right then and there. Working with the finance manager felt like talking with an old friend, I could tell he cared. My pre approval from my bank had a few issues and Hummels staff was understanding and graciously helped me work through the issues. I was never surprised by any fees, extended protection plans or extra magical coatings and sprays to protect the car. I was offered a warranty, service package, GAP, and protection plans I could choose from. They thoroughly explained the benefits and disadvantages all while weighing costs, my questions, and concerns. I took more of their time than any of us expected but I left Hummels with a great deal on a near new car, assurance that they had my back, and a smile on my face. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone in the market for a quality used vehicle even if you arent considering Nissan. Thanks again Hummels Nissan!

Gabe with the used dealer lot for Hummels Nissan was excellent! He listened to what I wanted and delivered. He was so great that we bought the car for my daughter and I then referred my friend to buy from him as well. They bought a Rouge the next week with him as a result. You have a great salesman. I arrived at 1:30 pm for an express oil change and 2 hours later I am still sitting in the waiting area so asked the cashier if she could check the status of my car. She was told that I was up next and it should only be another 45 minutes before my car was ready. So I waited, not happy, but I waited, finally the tech came out to discuss what they found and that it should only be another 5 minutes or so until my car was ready. I said whats another 5 minutes! He half-heartedly apologized and stated they were short staff and it was taking longer, I told him a simple update/status would have been appreciated. Apologized again. This would have been all good and well if an update would have been given after the first hour or even at check in and if I didnt sit in the waiting area with several employees, including the tech that waiting on me, coming through the wait area constantly, soda/water in hand, talking to one another and not one would acknowledge the same people sitting there all afternoon. Two and half to three hours for an oil change is totally unacceptable with no explanation. I truly hope they improve on their customer service and at least act like they care as they have in the past. Very disappointed in my experience!

Hands down offended by how we were treated and what was overheard about other customers during their test drive. The salesman we worked with made a comment, Money is clearly no object, and didnt ask if we wanted to put money down. Then he produced an offer showing as little as $8500 down and a payment of $589 when the national ad said the same vehicle should have been $456-472/month with $4700 down with 10,000 miles. Granted they quoted 12k/yr, but that should not cost 38% more!

Our car died at the McDonalds across the way. After being in the car for 14+ hrs, and another 9 hrs to go, it was the last thing we needed. A very nice employee (Sorry we didnt get his name) came and jump started our car for us. Then offered to test our battery. Thanks to him we found out all we needed was a new battery. You rock! I bought a brand new 2019 Nissan Altima - drove it off the lot with 50 miles on it. It now has about 30,000 miles on it and my air compressor went out. It took 2 weeks to get the part in to get it replaced. My right rear shock was also leaking and I am still waiting for that part to come in and be replaced. I bought a brand new car to not have these issues and it seems all I have had are issues. I will never buy a Nissan again and can’t wait to sell this car and get rid of it. I owe 19k on this car and it Kelly blue books for 22k. I will pay this off as soon as possible and be rid of Nissan forever. I will speak badly about Nissan for the rest of my life.

James went above and beyond what I expected. I walked in not really sure of anything other than I wanted a grey Rouge. He showed me one and went over in great detail the safety features (as a new mom, I greatly appreciated that).. I told him what I wanted to spend for a monthly payment and when they couldnt meet that, instead of just giving up, he helped me find the same car in the same color with almost all the same features for a price that would work for our budget. James even stayed late and showed me the car multiple times to put my mind at ease.

The gal who waited on me in the service area let me know that several others were there before me &that the wait may be an hour & a half. I had car problems and I didnt know if it was the battery, key ID, or what. I called Service and spoke to John who told me what to try, then I called him back and said I would bring it up the next day as AAA had jump started. The next day had to have AAA jump again and John again acvommodated me and I drove to Hummels and got service with a new battery. John was patient and courteous with me the whole time. I would recommend Hummels again.

We had stopped at another dealership and no one said boo, but Zack, at Hummels, came right out to great us. It was a rainy/misting day. We told him that we were thinking about trading in two vehicles for a new one and that we were just looking around. He listened to what we were considering and showed us a few and then he asked if he could show us a couple of other units that fit our wants.We had never been to Hummels before but we were impressed with the vehicles and with Zacks knowledge. He quickly answered our questions and occasionally needed to ask someone else so he wasnt in error. From the comments we heard, Hummels is a nice place to work. Therefore, it may be a good place to do business. If you treat your employees well, they may in turn treat the customer well.

Awesome process. Recall was executed perfectly. It’s just the greeting at the door and respect as a recall owner that miffed me a bit. Phone calls were productive and concise. Everything was satisfactory until I got there. Less than motivated staff but I get it. I’ve seen great things from this staff and I’ve seen better service than I was presented with. 5/5 because I work in a similar industry and I’ve seen them execute perfectly in front of others. I understand the importance of review and I know that this dealership is capable. Felt disrespected as a recall customer, I’m not paying anything but I get it. Hummells has really gone down hill and it started before COVID. I don’t like that they don’t offer appointments for oil changes anymore. If you’re not there right at 7am you’re waiting for hours for an oil change. Also they don’t offer the free $7 car wash voucher anymore either. We spent a lot of money at Hummells since 2005 & I’m not sure if we will buy another Nissan. Overall the quality of the Nissan product and its dealers has gone down substantially.

First let me say, I have been driving some form of Nissan for the last 20 plus years. I have been going to the same dealership the entire time. This time however the service was not up to par. I just bought a 2021 44 this Maxima in February. Somehow or another I got a slow leak in my tire. In order to get it repaired I was told I need it to leave my car there for the day. They did not have shuttle services available any longer and I was not offered nor was it available a loaner car. It was suggested, and I got offended, but I could take my car to one of the discount tire places to get repaired. I just spent over fifty Grand on this car theres no way I was taking it to a discount tire place. Normally services Beyond excellent this time I was extremely disappointed

When I called to make my appointment, the gentleman I talk to was very polite and respectful. I went and dropped my car off on the day of the appointment and everything went well. Then I got a call about an hour after I dropped my vehicle off that the key fob I provided from my car salesman was defective, and it would cost me $140 just for them to look at it. Then they told me it would be $420 for them to give me a new key fob and do the work on it. I told him I wanted to call my car salesman, because that was a lot higher than what we were both thinking it would cost. Then the gentleman I was talking to started getting a bit rude, and was belittling me about the situation. I called my car salesman and he said that is $100 more than it should be and asked if I could call back and see if they would give it to me for $320, or we could take business elsewhere. I called back and left a message saying just that, and the man called back and was not being very polite, and was acting like he was doing me a huge favor by charging me that much, when it could’ve been even more expensive. My car salesman said he has never had a Nissan dealer charge him for attempting to program a different key fob. At this point I told him to just talk to my car salesman, and they took it from there. My car salesman also had the same experience as I did, where the Hummel’s Nissan employee belittled him about the whole ordeal. My car dealer used to recommend Hummel’s Nissan to all of his customers needing work done, but after this experience, he will no longer do so. I felt uncomfortable picking my car up alone, and had my husband come in with me. It’s disappointing to feel that as a young woman, I was taken advantage of for my lack of car knowledge.

I had the best experience at this place! I worked with Jimi who helped my mom and I tremendously. He was personable, professional, and compassionate. He definitely went above and beyond to show us how much he appreciated our business. I dont write many reviews, but I thought this place was well worth mentioning! I would 100% recommend going here!

We came in 45 minutes before they closed because we thought they closed at 7 instead of 5. Everyone was super friendly (with the exception of one lady but someone else jumped in to help us!) they got us in and out in a timely manner and explained everything thoroughly! I would recommend Hummel’s for anyone looking to get an oil change!

I have been looking for a used car in and around Des Moines for a while now and these people gave the worst service ever, I took a drive test as well, I noticed a delay in braking and they kept on denying it and there was a drive side mirror not working to adjust, they said they might or might not fix it and they quoted 1000$ extra over kbb price and the guy just walked away while I-am trying to negotiate the price, all I asked was a 500$ less over their price they said over phone before I visited them. Very Arrogant and Rude.Would give a zero star if available, not visiting again ✌️

This is our 3rd certified Pre-owned car that weve purchased from Hummels. Taylor was great to work with, as was Jeremy in the finance office. They made out purchase and trade-in go smoothly! The only reason for 4 instead 5 stars is that we were offered a rebate for using NMAC credit when negotiating the purchase price of my new car without being informed that it was only available on the standard interest rate, not our better qualifying rate. Felt it was of a bit of a bait and switch. Had we known that when the deal was offered, we would have negotiated a better purchase price.
