Came into your store looking for an office chair but chair we wanted was out of stock. Asked for assistance and Ben advised that the chair we wanted was not in stock. Made no attempt to find at another store and told me he had no idea When or if the chair would be in stock. How do you run an efficient store if your employees have no idea about the stock you carry. Personally I think Ben was just lazy and just wanted my interaction to be finished. Anyway, Ben agreed to sell me the demo unit that was on the floor but refused to give us any discount even though I asked multiple times. He kept repeating that the chair looked new ... Really Ben???? Looks like to me that you may want to conduct your hiring practices differently going forward.. Ben was the most inept, indifferent employee that I’ve ever come across. I also submitted a complaint to your corporate office but I’ve heard nothing.. Although based on my recent experience I am not sure why I expected my complaint to go anywhere.. Will not be back EVER to your store.. PS... Ben you may want to look for another job that gives you a bit more fulfillment and hopefully One that doesn’t deal with the public
Sue and Emily were EXTREMELY helpful and patient with me today. I spent a total of 3 hours between a 2 day span and Sue made sure that I did not leave until the wedding programs I wanted came out perfectly. She took so much time to edit the document and help me choose paper that would look nice for our wedding. I didnt feel rushed or that she was annoyed with my big request and it seriously meant the world to me!

I was at Office Max in Dekalb, lL today. I found a high back vinal chair that I liked in the lobby marked $199.00. the lady clerk said it was the only one in black and as is. I asked about a reduced price being used? I also told her that special price reduction was on line for chairs. I also told her that I should have some credit on my account there? She was not having any of it! She never asked me for my name or account number. It was either take it or leave!! I left. I will be contacting headquarters about her lack of customer service!! Ihav bought computers and services prior. Not any more!!
Purchased a desk in store that was not in stock. They said they can order it and have it delivered directly to my home. I thought this was great. Unfortunately, this started a series of problems for this store.. First problem delivery date promised did not happen it was 5 days past the time they said. I left a poor review on their website which prompted the store manager to contact me and give me a discount which I thought was absolutely wonderful.I now have the desk which came delivered with several major defects and it is quite heavy so I called the store and asked what I can do about this.. The store manager said to call the manufacturer and they can send me new parts. I now cant get ahold of the company they just dont answer. I now go into the store to get my discount and tell them my new problem of getting ahold of the manufacturer and the operational manager keith gives me a complete attitude and tells me its my problem and that there is nothing they can do. I was hoping that maybe they could try to contact the manufacturer somehow. Nope they refuse to help so I stated I will never buy another product from this store. He continues to act like a child and give more attitude and basically tried to hand me off on a clerk who initially called him to help me. Terrible customer service by this gentleman and I can not believe that a large company like office depot doesnt want to make something wrong a right. Im speechless. I will never shop at this store again.
I ordered something on the 2nd week of January and it said it was in-stock. After ordering and paying for it. The email I received said estimated delivery date was over a month away, on the 15th and on the 15th of February. After no info, no tracking number, still no information was given from this company, And no Item to, I call the number for help and information, the customer service was horrible and I was Transferred Multiple times. They told me They had contacted the Carrier and said it would be at my house on the 16th before 7:00 p.m. on the morning of the 17th I reserved an email saying they wont send it until the 28th and it will still be more days after that for shipping, when I called them after seeing the email they Threaten to cancel my order because I told them this is unacceptable. They would not let me speak with a supervisor on the matter Worst experience ever with this company They need negative stars. And I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau about this matter
Most every time we go in to Office Max we have very good service. The manager is very helpful and knowledgeable!
Went there for the first time to drop off a fedex package. I was given a choice by a retailer I purchased from online to return it to a fedex location and they would print the label there because my printer wasnt working. I first stood in the back by the fedex sign for a few minutes. I didnt see any one other than one lady working behind the huge counter who was helping one customer on the other side. She came over to weigh something for him and I told her I needed to drop off a fedex package but needed label.printed, so she told me she would be with me in a moment and asked I wait behind the gentleman she was helping. I stood waiting Id say around not much less than 20 minutes total while she continued to do this and that on her computer for the same gentleman! She even stepped away to grab something for 2 other customers, about 1 and 2 minutes each that had just walked up. Only acknowledged me one other time apologizing for the wait, but never gave me any idea how much longer considering that moment was taking a loong time! Meanwhile my 18 y o son had been waiting in the car. I finally just walked out if there with the package still in my hand! I cannot believe they would only have one person working with NO ONE else to ask for help and right around the holidays! Not to mention a little more concern for your customers would also be helpful! Anyways, I had came back a couple days later only for the man back there to explain to me that they cannot print the return label for me with the return scan code I was given! What a complete and unnecessary waste of my time! The fact that they cannot print the label was the fault of FedEx for requesting I have it done that way, but the fact that I was treated that way when I could have been easily told right away that they couldnt do it anyways, was the fault of this establishment and I will be sure to NEVER RETURN THERE AGAIN.
Normally get treated nicely here by Sue as I take things there for shipping, last night she was not there and the guy that was, was extremely rude, he informed me that this was the last time I would be able to ship phones from that location because they were hazardous, I can understand if they have a new policy but he was unapologetic and acted like my business was unimportant, I will escalate up to FedEx as well.Maybe Sue can teach him how to talk to customers but I dont think hes cut out for the service industry.
This is absolutely the worst staff, manager, and experience that I have had in a very long time with any store in my town.I am very tolerant especially in these covid times with retail employee.But this team at the store takes the cake. There customer service atrocious! They never know anything, they are shell shocked when asked a question, then never know the products.I ordered a wall file to hang on the wall with matching white board. I was picking it up at the store so I can purchase the hanging tools needed once it came in.I recieved a call then order had come inI sent my daughter to pick it up and 20 mins later she calls saying they cant find it. I told her they just called to tell me it came.in! I had to call then speak to a manager who said he would look for it and finally found it in the stock room.30 kins later my daughter came home with a box 1 item out of the 2 in it.I called store a day later, explained the situation, and asked if they can track the other item with the order number.Whoever I spoke said no, they cant track it with the order number and if i had a tracking number, I said no it was not on the order sheet. He just said well then youll just have to check back Monday or Tues or we will call you when it comes in. That all we can do. This is after the initial store rep who took the order told me they would both be in on the truck the friday before.I waited till Tuesday the next week to call and look for my item. A manager answers and says yes I told my team to call you didnt you get a call yesterday? I said no if I had recieved a call I would be calling you looking for it. He started to argue with me and said well I told them to call you ( then caught himself) and said but I believe you if they didnt. (Right away he was indirectly calling me a liar).Fast forward 2 days today Thursday 11:30am. I go to the store to pick up my item. I walk in, ask the cachier where to obtain the item he turns around and points to the front of the store by the window. I look for my item its not there . I ask for help finding it. He asks my name and shuffles to another stand with items in front of the store. He says I dont see it, Ill call a manager.Manger comes up already annoyed that he had to assist. Never acknowledged me standing there, goes straight to the cachier asking what the issue is. Cachier starts telling him and the manager cuts him off saying WHAT, WHAT ARE TALKING ABOUT, I CANT HEAR WHAT YOUR SAYING SPEAK UP! At that point I was embarrassed for the cachierThe cachier began to tell him again what we were looking for the manager turns to me and says when did you order it. I said 2 weeks ago without asking any other question he say we probably put it back in stock cause you didnt pick it up.I then said I just spoke to someone that told me it got to the store this week.He started to say well then I cant help you if its not in front. At that point I had enough and started to yelling because he was not listening nor was willing to ask questions to see where the item was.I told him I had been getting the run around fro. Your store multiple people! As I am yelling his body language changes as if he is ready to yell back at me. I called him out asking telling his customer service skills are appalling by putting your hand on your hips and leaning forward at me I already knew what he was going to yell back. Once I called him out he proceeded to turn things around at me telling me that I was the one yelling at him! I then yes because you have the. Worst cst service skills to customers and your employees and your not listening or willing to help!He then asked for my name he walked over to the middle front of the store where there was another rack behind the counter grabbed my item and stuck it out at me to grab it. I grabbed the item he turned around walked away into an office ending our interaction. Awful !! I apologized to the cachier that he had to deal with that manager. The cachier looked at me as if to say dont leave me here as I left the store. Awful!!!!
Well stocked and brightly lit office supply store. I found what I was looking for with the help of a professional staffer and saved a little money by his recommendation. While they were having some technical difficulties at the checkout, they quickly opened up a separate aisle and got me on my way pretty quickly. Plenty of parking and easy to locate.
Sue, the Print Services Supervisor, is the definition of 5 star service.I had a printer issue the day of my interview (of course) so I rushed over to Office Max to print out copies of my resume and cover letter. I was in a bit of a hurry and she worked with me to provide speedy, friendly and knowledgeable service. The file that I had didnt transfer over so she calmly helped me retrieve it from my google drive. Her patience and understanding really helped me on the day when I needed a little grace.Keep up the great work, Office Max of DeKalb!
I went there and asked if they had any 4g memory cards they said no but they could order it and I said that was fine that was on October 19 I payed for 2 day shipping and it should have gotten here on the 22, its December 23 still dont got it never buying from them again. big enough of a mistake the first time
Its all about customer service these days, and the labor pool in the area is pretty thin. However, Ive only encountered friendly and helpful folks at this store. They price-match and have most stuff in stock. Recommended.
The associate who greeted us as we entered asked if he could help and he did! He took us directly to the section of the store we needed and we were able to check out painlessly. The cashier offered to sign us up for the free rewards program and gave us my teacher discount. Very good experience.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I needed to drop off a package for FedEx. The print services supervisor asked if I needed anything as I approached the desk and I handed my package to her. She quickly retrieved a self stick mailer and informed me there was no tracking for the package since it was a return but offered a return receipt for OfficeMax so I had proof of the return. I was out of the store in 5 minutes. Customer service at its best, will definitely return here in the future.
Waited two days for print service to finish up a small job. Called and they had no information on my project or the paper that I picked out for printing. Went back to the store to finalize everything again and waited 45 mins for 3 sheets of paper to be printed and then cut to size. Dave, the Supervisor was very friendly and compensated me for my time. Not too sure I will come back with a urgent job, but I appreciate him working with me.
Good variety if you need something quick. Otherwise, just use the Internet like everybody else. They have great deals on fat guy chairs on Black Friday.
Well once again these companies prove why they should be put out of business. I have gone into this store a dozen times since the beginning of COVID 19. Always kept my distance, but now because they are selling masks for roughly $50 a box I am no longer allowed to enter the store.
This is not the place to make copies. I went in to copy 250work papers and the self serve copier kept jamming. It would make me start over after each attempt, I had to get a tech from the print center to reset the copier. I told him that I was going to leave if it did it again, he didn’t offer to make the copies at the same rate on his copier or anything. When it jammed again, he let all my today and future copies walk right out the door without even a word. Doing a bang up job Office Max!
No shopping today. Just checking to see if banker boxes on sale. None today. I have been shopping here for years. Staff are always helpful and kind.

I waited in line for a 1/2 HOUR to print three sheets of paper... finally after a half hour of waiting, no joke. The manager comes over and goes oh yeah, use our self service! I mean I’ve never been here so didn’t know that was a thing... but I have so many questions why the hell did they wait a half hour to call a manager to help with the line. Why couldn’t the guy helping others ask me what I needed done or greet me, then I would have know about self serve and three why did the manager not care at all that I had been waiting a half hour for nothing... horrible customer service. Save yourself.
Okay experience. Employees are nice and helpful. Though they did nothing when I was being harrassed by some lady who was mad that I, who was waiting in the FedEx line, was assisted before the people in the separate print line.

I used to always go here to get my prinse but the last three times Ive went Ive had to go back because of mistakes that we made with the printing either it was too big or too small one time they even printed on the wrong paper. Im never planning to go back there again.
