Poor workmanship in terms of gutter installation. Purchased a whole house gutter replacement and roof repair. Gutters went up great but then a section started to leak. No big deal, they’ll send a crew to fix it. Crew comes back “fixes” the section, and lo and behold, it starts to leak again. No problem, the crew will fix it “again”. This happened FIVE times all in the dead of winter where ice would leak all in front of the entrance door. My guests needed ice skates to get to the front door.I ended up having to repair and seal the gutter section myself. The only saving grace is that they refunded that section of the gutters and their customer service is pleasant. Roofing repair seemed great though so maybe just got unlucky with the gutters.

We hired Kearns Brothers to repair our roof and add ventilations to our attic. They put a new roof but they didnt fix the ventilation (although they said they fixed it). After a years, we have been dealing with mold everywhere in our attic. I met with Sean and he is a nice respected man. However, they hire cheap contractors to get their jobs done. They dont supervise what the contractors do. Thats why you would get poor results.An update is that the Shawn reached out. It was nice of him to call but we have been waiting since then to see if they fix it.

I was referred to Kern’s Brother’s from my father who had his roof done through Kern’s and I was extremely happy with the result. My roof was old and it was time for a replacement. James (based out of Plymouth) was very thorough with the initial consultation and was always available for my follow up questions. He was able to schedule Abe and his crew for the replacement and I could not have been happier with them. Abe and his crew spent 12 hours in one day and in that day they were able to replace boards, create new vents, and replace 75% of the roof. They finished early the next morning and I couldn’t have been happier with the result. Jeff was also very helpful with the final walkthrough on the last day. I will be consulting with Kern’s for future projects!

I waited 5 weeks for a roof repair on our Wyandotte condo and had been living with water intrusion into our home the whole time. I was frustrated since I felt that Kearns Brothers was slow to respond and communications were for the most part 1-way.After suffering through few cancellations/delays, KB finally got to the fix today. I received a call from the owner, letting me know that they were on the job even before I realized they were already in the middle of the repair.I really appreciate the communication on his part, since it had been lacking up to that point.I cant be sure about the quality of the repair, but on professionalism, I give them a 4-star for having the owner reach out to me directly to try to make things right.

Recently Kearns Brothers installed new siding and gutters on my mothers house. My mother is retired and it was a substantial investment to make these updates. Kearns Brothers was First Class throughout the process. Starting with Brendon B. who came out to provide initial quote. Brendon was very knowledgeable about the different options of siding to choose from. He was very respectful and treated my mother like family. I could not ask for more. Susan M.(Renoworks) was fantastic with helping with color/design. It was great to see what the design would like and confirming what my mother wanted before the job started. Dominick who was charge of the installation was quality driven and was also very nice to my mother. I also interfaced with Gary Kearns and Michael Kearns. Both were extremely nice and joy to work with. My mother was very happy with the work that was done. She says that the house looks totally different, and getting rave reviews from the neighbors. The important point about this review is that the workmanship was great and the people that work for Kearns are even better. My wife and I started to notice issues with our roof ranging from algae on the shingles that wouldn’t dissipate to small water spots by the attic entry. We looked online and found a few companies in the area, after a couple calls it was Kearns who responded quickly and with very pleasant representatives. We had an estimate done, the representative was never pushy or overselling, he told me how it was and said how it would work. We decided to move forward and within no time at all we picked out what we wanted, got approved for financing, and set an install date. Installation was quick, they were very conscious of cleanliness and put down tarps to keep materials from falling all over. They removed the old roof showing me what was wrong and damage I didn’t know I had, they installed everything perfectly and left a couple bundles in case I need them down the line and even called to follow up with me before even talking about billing. 10/10 with customer service and professionalism, I will be using them for future updates to my home.

Kearns was a absolute pleasure to work with. From the beginning to the very end. Providing quotes, talking about color and other items that would help keep in the heat and allow for the proper venting. The staff showed up and did an amazing job! They all worked very hard to keep the time frame to a minimum since the family is working from home. It was just before Halloween, they had a whole graveyard to work around. They were awesome. Carefully moving the decorations out of their way and ensuring they were all put back prior to them leaving upon completion. They even fixed a skeleton cat head (that was broken for years) before they left. ( we locally won 3rd prize for the decorations). They cleaned up everything in the backyard so my dogs would not be running on nails or staples. My wife and I had our windows replaced in Nov. of 2016 (by a different company). We noticed in the winter of 2017 that our new front bay window had developed a noticeable draft coming through. After removing the window sill that the company had replaced, we noticed (to our horror) that the whole bay was completely rotted out and the new window itself was very small and not properly installed (which is an understatement). The whole bay has been replaced and a beautiful new fiberglass window was installed, the right way. They did a great job on our roofing (complete tear-off and replacement) and rain gutters. The roofing crew arrived early, finished the roof by afternoon; the metal workers came a couple days later for the gutters and finished by lunchtime. They worked on the schedule I had picked and sales person Paul F. stayed in touch on the whole process, and came over on roofing day. The work crews were polite and explained what was going on when I had questions. The house looks great and it was well worth the price. Thanks to everyone.

I had call Kerns brother for the roof leak inspection and quote and whoever came to check out the roof was telling me to change entire roof without even checking where the damage was. Well to my surprise he didn’t even carry the ladder so I assume they just sent a sales person to quote for the entire roof replacement rather than inspecting roof leak. I contacted Kearns brother based on the review and they might be good for the roof replacement but I would not recommend them for any roof fix or roof leak repairs.

Cant say enough about Paul Ferrero and his crew. Our roof took a hit after a summer storm. We had several companies out but Kearns was the clear choice. Although we knew that being in the middle of the summer they would be busy, which they were, however they still were able to respond promptly. Paul worked well with the insurance company and communicated with his crew to get the job done right. Paul actually offered to go on the roof with shingle samples so we could compare colors from the street. The clean up was amazing, they didnt leave a single thing behind. It area was completely swept up and looked cleaner than before they started :) Couldnt ask for more.

After reviewing several roofing companies, we decided to hire Kearns Brothers to replace our leaking roof. Due to scheduling our install is several weeks away but we have leaks now. They quickly put up temporary patches and even came back after a heavy rain to patch a new leak. I can always reach someone and had very nice roofers here the same day or next morning to handle repairs. Will also post once roof is installed but Kearns Brothers have replaced several roofs in my neighborhood. They’re work is beautiful and clean. Everyone I’ve spoken with during this process had been very kind and helpful.

DON NOT USE!!! On Nov 28th a salesman stopped to see the job we wanted done. Took photos and measured. Stated we would hear back by the end of the week. NEVER HEARD BACK! Called in twice and twice I was told a message would be sent to salesperson to contact us, the second time I was told an urgent message would be sent. Nothing, no calls, no follow up. If this is how they are before the sale, think how responsive they will be after the sale if there is an issue. DO NOT USE!!!

I feel this company discriminated against me based on race and maybe age. The company sent someone out to look at the project needed and that person tried to redirect me to what he felt would be a cheaper way out. He made the assumption that I could not afford to pay for what needed to be done. I explained that I wanted the issue fixed and not patched. The company sent an email declining to bid on our project. The staff claimed they had some other big project. I doubt this is being said to white customers. The company did not provide a quote and inform me of when this other large project would be completed and availability for my project. Terrible. Do not use.

I’ve used Kearns Brothers for the last 15 years. I needed a minor roof repair and was thrilled that during this “covid19” that Brandon and Steve were able to come out promptly. All CDC recommendations were followed, the job was done quickly, and the cleanup was great! I have always been satisfied with the professionalism of this company and the employees they have. About 2 years ago, Kearns Brothers replaced shingles that had blown off & redid flashing around chimney. After inspection, they recommended I consider replacing the roof due to age related wear. The roof & gutters were replaced this month. I am pleased with the looks of the finished job. The office staff kept me updated on scheduling, the work crews were efficient and pleasant. The salesman James, my primary contact throughout, has been very helpful, explaining options, answering questions & returning calls promptly.

The trim around our windows and patio door were deteriorating pretty badly. Theres only a few James Hardie preferred contractors around the area and were happy that we went with Kearns. I had Kearns Brothers come out to my home to give me a quote for a new roof as we were getting ready to sell and we assumed the shingles were 30 years old. They were able to come out the the day after I called and arrived promptly on-time. I explained to Mike that the property was built in 1990 and we had lived there since 2003 and presumed that the shingles had never been replaced. Upon his inspection, we found out that roof had been re-shingled and did not need replacing. The previous owner must have re-shingled the house prior to our sale. Their honesty saved me $$$. Chuck Saltmarche, Michael Kearns, the Kearns masonry guys who redid our chimney, the Kearns roofing team that did our roof, and the Kearns siding team all did an immaculate job. Their attention to detail, and commitment to doing things right is what I love most about these guys. My husband and I have been through a lot with this house, and finally decided to go big and give it the full repairs it needed instead of bandage spot fixes. Kearns pricing is fair for the market, but what I saw of their team, that strong work ethic, honesty and transparency...that far exceeded our expectations based on past experience with local contractors. When we had the heavy snow in November and had water dripping into our garage, Kearns came out, found the 1 copper pipe cap embedded in our roof- they were baffled at the whole situation too- did a temporary patch until the weather dried up they could come out and fix the spot...FREE OF CHARGE! We were prepared to pay to fix it seeing as how this was just a freak occurrence, and not Kearns fault, but they took care of us at no charge.Our favorite contractors!

I hired Kearns Brothers years ago for our previous home and they did a great job. I was very pleased. Our new home needed a new roof and I secured numerous bids. I met with Gary Holm and while his was not the lowest bid, I selected Kearns again based on my previous experience. They did not disappoint. The installers showed up on time, stayed on the job until it was complete and did a high quality installation. Dale, their job foreman kept me informed, worked with his team and answered any and all questions to my satisfaction. Once completed, they cleaned up so well I think my yard looked better than before they arrived.I highly recommend this company. They will be my first call every time.

We have been generally pleased with the new roof that Kearns Brothers installed. The leak for which we originally contacted them is no longer as issue. However, we did develop a new leak around the chimney. When we contacted them about it, they came out again promptly and sealed the presumptive problem area at no charge. As of now, everything looks good but we have not had any rain since the repair so we can’t tell yet whether the seal works.

About 10 years ago i had a new roof installed by Kearns Brothers. It looked good. However, after a couple of months tiles began sliding off the roof. I’d find a tile on the driveway or on my back deck. The first few tiles were repaired and replaced free of charge by the company. After a couple of years more tiles came off but they no longer took responsibility. I asked the City of Troy Building Inspector to come look at the roof. He found poor workmanship, many nails missing, etc. I am writing today because i just looked out my back window and found two tiles on the grass and one loose tile on the roof

We have a 1940 Cape Cod style house in the historic district of Livonia. All of our exterior improvements have been done with the purpose of maintaining the historic look of the house. We solicited many contractors to provide a proposal based on a set scope of work that we generated so to make certain that all contractors were bidding the same work. We had collected at least 5 proposals and no one was quite complete in their packages and before I decided who to use, we saw Kearns working in our neighborhood and we called them for a quote. They came out and went over our scope and offered some alternatives to what we were looking for but for the most part we were on the same page. About a week later, they submitted a proposal that was complete and inclusive of my scope. Now Kearns was not the lowest price but they were the most comprehensive, which to me said they understood exactly what we wanted and that is why I chose them. They broke the job into 3 separate teams; one to take care of the siding, one to take care of the gutters and gutter guards, and one to install and finish trim a replacement window. The teams were polite and friendly, were ready to answer questions, and were as careful as they could be with the landscaping. Some damage was done but it was unavoidable and minor. The siding team did a tremendous job because our house has 7 inch profile wood clapboard which we wanted replicated in vinyl. They were able to provide that which makes all the difference on a Cape Cod style house. Because inclement weather was a possibility, they only removed small sections of old aluminum siding at a time and installed the furring strips, the rigid board insulation, the building wrap and tape. Then they hung the new siding. This way very little of the house envelope was exposed at any given time. The attention this crew paid to joints between dissimilar materials was top shelf all the way. Their crew chief was also able to install a finishing detail on our elevations that he had never done before. Our siding is from Certainteed and their website shows an upside down sunburst and thats what we wanted where our old attic exhaust louvers were. The field team wasnt sure if they could do it but when they called Certainteed and were given guidance, they were able to knock it out perfectly. So, once they were done, the gutter crew came in to top the gutters with guards and realign some of the gutters that were removed during the siding. This work was completed quite quickly as well as the finish trim on my front doors. Then the window crew came in to remove and replace a 3rd story window that was installed in the 1980s. They were concerned about the inside trim but managed to remove only what they needed, installed the window, and then reinstall the trim. With the exception of one scratch, you wouldnt be able to tell it had been removed. This crew had to work partially inside but was very considerate of our home; drop covers on all floors and two members on all large items to make certain the walls or doors werent struck. They are a great outfit from their sales people, office staff, to the field crews. Ive already asked them to price two replacement windows in my kitchen and to finish off a master bathroom. I would certainly work with them again if given the opportunity. If you have them price your job just remember if they arent the lowest price, there probably is a reason; the low company may be stupid low and doesnt understand the job or they understand the job and will try to nickle and dime you for extras. Using Kearns was the right decision.

My experience with Kearns was very disappointing. I setup an appointment for Kearns to come out to assess a roof leak. My husband was able to narrow down the zone where the leak is coming from the inside of our home. I assumed the estimator was actually coming to go on the roof to check it out. Unfortunately, he did not come with the size ladder that would allow him to go on the roof. Im sorry... how do you assess a repair if you dont have the tools to go on the roof? He did discuss replacing the first quadrant with my husband, and that was pretty much it. Not really what I was expecting. I even called him back to discuss exactly what our options were and he did not return my call, at first. I had to contact the office and then shortly after, he gave me a call (note: I called him shortly after he left my home, it took him over 24hrs to call back). It was obvious from our discussion Kearns was not interested in a roof repair, unless it meant replacing a large area of the roof. The tone of the representative was just poor and uncaring. We have intentions of replacing our roof within the next two years. This repair would have taken us through the winter and a little further. Its just so very disappointing!!!! I went with them because of the reviews. Im assuming now, these reviews are from customers of full roof replacements, or from paid third parties to boost ratings. Very disappointing experience!!!

Brandon spent quality time on taking care of a continued problem with a leak on our chimney. He and his partner (didnt get his name, sorry) were polite, knowledgeable, and truly dedicated to their jobs. I feel quite confident that he took care of our issue. Thanks Brandon. Kearns Brothers came out a few months ago to put a new roof on our weathered and worn 2 1/2 car garage. Weve had some extreme storms since and...still dry inside and looks great on the outside! Chuck Saltmarche and his crew were top notch pros! Job was done quickly and efficiently. Clean up was fairly thorough. I have to mention, being that it was a winter job, Chuck was very diligent in keeping me informed on when they could get the job done, as wed had several strings of bad weather. Chuck explained the process thoroughly and patiently. Price and terms were reasonable. As my mother would say, Never be afraid to get the best. Youll always be satisfied with it.

Quick clean work, and really nice people to work with.Chuck came out for the quote and was great to work with through a whole roof replacement.No over-the-top powerpoint presentations during the quote, just a measurement and an honest quote, and they went above and beyond with some finishing touches.

UPDATE: Happy to report that Kearns Brothers have completed the work on our home, and it is fantastic. They were extremely quick to get back to us with assurance the work would be completed as soon as possible. The guys that came to the house were here on time, worked diligently through the day even though the temperatures hovered around 20 degrees. They were friendly and kept us up to date on progress. The finished product is fantastic!! Truly happy with the quality of the work done. We may have had a rocky start, but am very pleased with the final result and would recommend the Kearns Brothers team!!Still waiting....Contacted Kearns Brothers for outdoor work. They came out in July 2018. Wife and I wanted their service. Months passed and received one phone call that they didn’t forget us and stating working in multiple job sites. Fast forward to January 2019, still waiting for work to be done. If they are backed up with that many work job sites, it would have been nice to say it will be awhile with an estimated time frame. We are waiting patiently but getting less impressed as time passes. I look for good reviews, that’s why we chose them.

Hey mr. Mike Kerns I met with Gary Holm back in May regarding a covered porch porch extension then the following appt. He never showed or called after many calls he came back out Iinformed him to change roof to a lean2 type as well as he had dofit colors wrong +I had removed the bay window awning myself+ he had remove entire side walk was wrong should of been partial ect.finally speaking to u mike how I got him to return . I changed the porch extension by 1 ft.I signed a contract July 2nd. Again cant get any calls to Gary his voice mail is still delibertly full. Why was the rush to have mortgage survey too mell in the office yet no permitts still have not been pulled in city of lincoln pk. What a big dissapoint ment your staff & promptness hasbeen has been stall me aroundso long! We did business with u back in2016 .twins hse.It will be another 7 weeks come Thursday8-20-2020. 2019 Feb during the wind storm, shingles blew off of my house. We called Kerns Brothers and Michael Baker came out in less than 24 hours. He gave us a window of time and he came out earlier. By the evening, the problem on my roof was resolved. Our relationship began with this company in 2014 when I bought my house. I called Kerns and when I Met Michael that day, he explained the masonry work that I needed on both of my chimneys. I had plenty questions and he answered every one of them not rushing to leave or make a decision. Kerns have provided me professional, uncompromising services. From the time Michael walked in my house, to the crew that came out and even the office staff, they are all amazing. I love the fact that my relationship didnt/dont end at the conclusion of the job. Their estimator Paul Ferrero came out to look on 9/30/2019. I still havent received a formal quote and havent heard anything from the business. Finally, received the a detailed quote Wed Oct 23 after emailing last night and writing the review..I was also recommended Kearns from another roofing company that doesnt service my area.

Kearns Brothers is a very professional company, my wife and I got two quotes to replace our very large roof on our home. Once the Clovid-19 lock down cleared Kearns Brothers got to work, thanks to Rudy Mendez who quoted our job and worked with our insurance company to get the job moving along. A team of eleven of the hardest working roofers, led by Enrique Hernández showed up on time as promised and worked for two full days with barely a break. They removed the old roof and installed a new roof, Enrique placed tarps and plywood over anything outdoors to shield/protect our windows and landscaping from loose debris as well as doing an excellent job cleaning up afterwards. My wife and I are extremely pleased with the job Kearns Brothers did for us and would highly recommend them for any roofing work.

Paul from Kearns was one of the most helpful people I have met, EVER! I called to have a window estimate and he was very professional, informative and knowledgeable. As a first time home owner with little handy experience, I was expressing that I have a couple problem spots that need fixing, aside from having my windows replaced (leaky basement, doors that dont latch, crumbling brick work etc.) Paul took the time to address each one the and provide tips on how I could easily fix these things on my own to save some money. He was there for two hours just helping with any concern I had and really took the time to establish trust. He makes a great company representative, I was sold!! The only reason I am giving four stars is I felt there could have been better communication after I signed the contract. I waited two weeks before calling to ask when someone would be out to measure the windows after not hearing anything. Once the windows were measured, I was told they should be installed right around thanksgiving. A week went passed thanksgiving and I again had not heard from anyone. I called twice and my second phone call was returned by Gary Kearns who apologized and was able to have my windows installed the next day! The installers who came out were great as well! They were quick, clean, friendly and the finished job looked amazing!! My single complaint is that I wish there was better communication so that I hadnt felt forgotten about. Despite this, I was still very impressed with the company and will likely have work done by them again in the future.

I recently had a new roof put on by Chuck and the guys at Kearns. They did a fantastic job and well above and beyond for us. One thing I will mention is the clean-up. Worked with Paul Wilson to install a new roofing system on my home. The bid was very competitive, but not the lowest. I decided on Kearns because quality and service is extremely valuable!The crew arrived bright and early on the scheduled day and was done before dinner. The crew made sure my landscaping/windows were protected during the tear off of the old roof, and they were respectful and professional.I did find a few extra nails in the lawn than I expected, but I called Paul and he personally came out and made sure to pick up any stragglers. I also found a couple nails that had missed their mark by just a hair, and were showing. Again, Kearns had a service rep at my home quickly, and replaced the shingles in question. The service person did a walk around of the entire roof and made sure everything was looking great!Overall I am very happy with the service from Kearns Brothers with respect to the quality of the job and the level of service and follow up. Generally knowledgeable man my family has had current brothers work done many years ago and its still holding up needs touch UPS because its about 15 years old but had no problems. I would recommend currents to do work I had an actual experience and will be having them out to do work in the springtime at my own home..

I like the price and called back to sign a contract and never heard from them so I called back, they said some will be in touch with you, 2 weeks later called back the rep texted me that night and said that he would have a start date and price that night never heard from them again.

My sister hired Kearns Brothers for much needed repairs on the roof. This is the second time we hired them. James is amazing! He explained everything that needed to be done showed before and after pictures and was very professional. This was the best experience I have ever had with a roofing company. They are not pushy or try to sell you things you dont need. I am very impressed with there work and how clean my property still looked after. I will definitely contact them again in the future.
