Kumon has been an incredibly efficient, effective way to strengthen my daughters math skills, and ultimately give them confidence to aggressively meet the challenges of their schoolwork. Kumon is a franchise business, but Kerris center is exceptionally well-run: Kerri has her finger on the pulse of every student and knows how to keep them all moving forward. She always answers my emails personally and quickly. My kids have been so proud of the milestones theyve met; this really makes the extra 20 minutes of work daily worth their while. My kids rave about the center helpers. Each of my daughters genuinely feels that she is a known within the center and consistently making progress. Additionally, I feel that the group setting and standardized curriculum makes kids feel like they are doing extra work to excel, instead of feeling that they are behind and trying to catch up with a conventional tutor.

I’m a strong believer in the Kumon method that consist of daily practice. The Darien location is very convenient, and the instructors are great. Kerri, the owner, was a pleasure to work with; my daughter improved tremendously her Math skills and it’s performing at above grade level. I highly recommend it!

Nice size center not too overcrowding like other centers in Connecticut.I moved to Stamford in July of 2015 and prior to that I was looking for a center that would be best suited for my 4 year old considering she was already enrolled in a center in New Jersey. I spoke with Kerri several times before I moved and she was very accommodating and scheduled a date to meet in person. Ive been happy with my decision to travel from Stamford to Darien.

I highly recommend Kumon Darien. My son was struggling with math and went from scoring in the low 70s on his tests to high 80s and 90s. We also signed my daughter up even though she was doing well in math. She jumped to advanced math in school in the first year and just placed for double advanced in middle school. Kerri and the entire stafff are wonderful.

I would strongly recommend Kumon Darien as a supplement to your childs current curriculum. My 7 year old and 9 year old have been attending Kumon for over a year and I have seen tremendous growth and advancement in their academics. My son began Kumon the summer prior to entering kindergarten and he was fully reading at the start of kindergarten and I have noticed that his spelling is very strong as a result of the Kumon method of learning word blends. My daughter absolutely loves math because I think Kumon has given her great confidence in her math capabilities and she often tells me she likes Kumon because she already knows how to do the math that is being taught in her classroom. Its a cycle - because she feels good at math and likes being ahead of the curve, she enjoys math more.Kerri OBrien runs the center and is fantastic. She knows her students and is very on top of each student and what level they are at. She is available to meet anytime I have questions and she responds quickly to emails. The center is organized and run like a well-oiled machine. Its a calm environment for kids - not stressful at all.I should also mention that Kumon is great during the summer because it keeps your children from having the summer slip because they are doing their daily packets of work and keeping on top of their academic skills.I have been very pleased with my Kumon experience. I was hesitant to go down the Kumon road, but when I took my kids to be evaluated, they begged me to do it and have enjoyed it ever since. If ever there is a time when the packets of work are taking too long, I just asked Kerri to give less pages to my kids and that solves any problems of it ever feeling overwhelming to them.I would highly recommend this program and have seen the value in it!

Kumon has been a very effective resource for my family. The center has provided focused, effective learning for my middle schoolers. The atmosphere is positive and energetic and the instructors are engaging. Kerri OBrien is committed and fun and always ensures that Kumon provides the structure necessary for learning. It is a great program that has been very successful for my children.

Our daughters thrive in the Darien Kumon, and we are thrilled by our choice to place them there. Our oldest is in second grade and reads at a third grade level. In Kumon she is doing double digit multiplication whereas her regular school doesnt even attempt multiplication until next year. Our daughter in kindergarten who did not attend pre-school knew all 100 of her sight words as indicated at a recent parent-teacher conference. Kerri is tireless in her efforts to support kids and watch them excel. I so appreciate her passion and my husband and I recommend her and the Darien Kumon highly!

My 5 and 7 year old daughters have been enrolled in Kumon for the past 10 months and we are extremely pleased with the program. Kerri and her team of amazing instructors have made a huge impact on their confidence with reading and math. We are grateful to have found such a great program for our children. And the best part is the kids truly enjoy it and look forward to their sessions!

I moved my kids here after wasting several months in a different kumon. In previous kumon i was told my kids have learning disability. Anyhow. 4 months with kerri, my kids made huge progress. My 2nd grader became a fluent reader and my kindergartener can now read 4 word sentences. Highly recommend this kumon.

The Kumon Center of Darien is a bright and friendly academic environment conducive of learning. The waiting area is smallish, comfortable, has free wi-fi, central air, a water cooler, and the bathroom is always clean. There is plenty of parking, albeit, a spot in front of the door is rare.Sometimes during the busiest times there can be a bottleneck at the start of class when kids are turning in their homework, which can be chaotic. Also, even though its discouraged, parents sometimes enter the classroom, which can be disruptive.The classroom is well organized, there is a 2-1 student to teacher ratio for my 5 year old, a 4-1 ratio for my 7 year old, and eventually they will graduate to working independently like my 11 year old.My 3 kids started Kumon when they were 5 years old. The Kumon method has been a good compliment to the State Common Core. The blend of both have given my children two different approaches to problem solving and critical thinking. My kids have been enrolled at three Kumon Centers in Fairfield County, and the Darien Center is hands-down our favorite. My kids are treated as individuals, they progress at their own pace, and are encouraged to reach beyond their comfort level.It took a good 6 months from the start of Kumon, and it is always being fine-tuned, but Kumon has helped my kids and me to establish a daily homework routine. Kumon has helped to build my kids confidence in math, which has carried over into their classrooms at public school. My oldest son started pre-algebra in 4th grade, my 7 year old is doing 1 digit multiplication in 1st grade, and my preschooler is learning numbers through 100, working on blends for reading, and writing.My kids complain often about homework, and many times I get exhausted and want to quit. However, Ive seen the results of the Kumon Method in my friends kids, and my own.I strongly encourage families to join the Kumon Center of Darien!
