We held our wedding reception here last Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021 and we had a phenomenal time! Ms. Heidi (the banquet manager) did an amazing job in maintaining the place well! The Bridal Suite and the Groom Suite (2 separate rooms) was very clean, beautiful, and has a strong A/C. It was hot last Saturday and me and my wedding party ended up getting cozy in the suites because it was very comfortable there.( the DJ needed to call us to remind us of our introductions haha)! Loved the huge life-size mirror and those fancy and comfortable couch! Theres also a lockers for everyone and the bridal suite has a lock code to secure your belongings. Ms. Heidi suggested what would look good in our wedding and what ways we can save some bucks for decorating our reception. She helped us a LOT in planning the wedding reception and she has been very nice to us the entire time since the beginning ( January 2020). It was very easy to talk to her and she understood the situation when we had to re-scheduled the wedding from last year 2020 to this year 2021. due to pandemic. We saw in our own eyes how the place improved so much under Ms.. Heidis management and we are very lucky that the venue was under her total supervision on our wedding day.. My husband and I loved the food and so all of our guests! Kudos to Chef Martin and sous chef Jesus! We received a lot of good feedback from our guests about the food and the service they received from the most attentive and caring staff of Carriage Greens! We are very thankful that we made the right decision to do our wedding reception here. Theres a lot of good scenic view outside too for romantic pictures. I loved the willow trees and the golf course! They let us use the golf carts too. Before the wedding we had few trips here during regular brunch/lunch time and we enjoyed the food in the restaurants as well. If we are going to have a big anniversary celebration or any big events, we will do it here at Carriage Greens again. Thank you Carriage Greens Staff for giving us such an amazing time and you guys just let us enjoyed our Big Day!

Came in tonight for dinner, haven’t been there since COVID started. There has been some menu changes and price changes, non of which we an improvement. I hate to say this but the food was terrible, nothing like it was before COVID. They must have changed suppliers and lost all of their cooks because nothing was good! We were definitely disappointed and will never go back.

My best friend had her wedding reception here last weekend and it was an upsetting experience to say the least. I arrived on Friday afternoon to help the bride and groom set up the space for the wedding on Saturday and as we were putting the center pieces together, we noticed that all of the linen for the tables had not been ironed and some had stains on them. Unacceptable for a bride to have tables fully set up with stains all over the tablecloths. This was just the beginning…the air conditioning had not been turned on and when I asked Heidi how cold it would get for the next day, she said “it will be so cold, you’re going to beg for me to turn it off” among other comments about how cold it will be. To summarize what happened the next day, the air conditioner broke down and the bride and groom were lied to about it—it had been broken since the day before and Heidi pretended it was just taking extra time for the air to circulate through the room. Once again, unacceptable for a bride and groom AND their family to be lied to about as paying customers. On the wedding day, I went to ask Heidi when the votive candles throughout the room would be lit because at this point, I had an understandable lack of confidence in her getting this done. She said to me “we will light them in about 15min…tell the bride this isn’t my first rodeo and I’ve been doing this for 15 years.” What a nice thing to say to paying customers, right? There were many other issues that the bride has already detailed in her review of this place, but I was very disappointed for my friends that they had to deal with Heidi who overpromised and under-delivered. She caused my friends stress on the happiest day of their lives and doesn’t even care. The bride tried to meet with Heidi before she left for her honeymoon and she made it clear that she was not a priority to meet with her, and that there would be no discussion of a refund.Don’t waste your money at this place. Unfortunate, because if they had the right person as the wedding coordinator, it could be a very nice place to have a reception. The owners should reevaluate as this seems to be a common theme with Heidi.

Beautiful room, delicious food, great service, friendly staff. The rooms with huge windows let in so much natural light. My event was in May 2019. Also has a balcony that overlooks the golf course. At sunset, the view was stunning. At dusk, there are patio lights. The food was delicious, all my guests just raved about the chicken. And the late mini burgers bar was a real hit, everyone loved the extra snack. For the price with open bar this is by far the best price in the suburbs. We have had several family banquets here and they are always terrific

-The groom and bridal suite had a STRONG stench of mustiness. The moment I walked into the groom suite, I felt like I was walking through cobwebs. The only thing functioning in that room other than the lights was ONE electrical outlet. The smart lock on the door had to be recalibrated numerous times throughout the night-The main event host, Heidi, gave us a speech on how masks and vaccines don’t work at the height of the pandemic. There were legal ordinances that she blatantly ignored. We were still at the height of the pandemic, and she didnt care about our health & safety, nor that of our other vendors.-It was understood at the rehearsal that the East/West Room would serve as the backup room for the ceremony in case the weather did not cooperate, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, that it would be prepped up and ready to go. When the clouds were looking ominous, we were seriously considering relocating to the East/West Room, which we found was in the exact same condition as the night before – unprepared, unventilated, a hand full of chairs, a dozen of disorganized round tables that should have been stored away, and no AC; essentially the exact opposite of what was promised.-As soon as we came inside after the ceremony, we noticed only 1 bar tender serving a line that stretched to the middle of the dance floor. I asked her why she was alone and that there should be 2 of you, she replied that she was the only one working that night. Therefore, we had our wedding planner strongly remind Heidi of the venue’s written commitment in this area.-The meal plan we paid for included all guests and vendors. We communicated and confirmed this repeatedly, including with Brian. When we had our final sit down with Brian, we went over each item line by line, did the math together, and the amount Brian calculated was the agree upon FINAL payment. He made very clear that the bill was settled. However, the night of, Heidi with her incompetence and sloppiness demanded $440 from me in the middle of my own reception for vendor meals! Shame on her.Ultimately, Carriage Green’s did not fulfil their end of the bargain. What they promised us was a stark difference to the reality of what they actually delivered. I would not recommend this venue.

My husband and I had our wedding reception in the Grand Ballroom this past weekend. When signing up for this back in July of 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, I was greeted with a woman who I thought to be overly accommodating, sweet and caring. Who was willing to do whatever it took to make both myself, my fiancé and our parents happy in any way she could for our big day. We had our dinner tasting and the food was AMAZING (which did not change on our wedding night- the chefs did amazing and the food was very good). I felt a sense of relief and calmness knowing that we would have a nice, big room over looking a beautiful scenic golf course and I was confident I wouldn’t have to worry about anything going wrong with the reception space the evening of our big day. Heidi did not fulfill the services she promised to us in many different ways, which resulted in the biggest let down of our day, which will be very memorable! The week leading up to our big day:1. I received a voicemail from Heidi letting me know that the scenic golf cart ride/ pictures for my bridal party would not be able to happen as there were two large golf outtings that day she did not know about that took “PRIORITY” over our wedding. The message made me feel very unimportant and stressed me out as I had planned the day around the photos and services I was promised when signing my paperwork. We called her back to mention that this was a promise to us and she then was able to get us the golf carts and “make this work”.2. The day before the wedding, I arrived at my reception space to set up for the next evening. The tables that were set up in the reception room had table clothes on top that were extremely wrinkly and some of them had large burns and food stains on them that were extremely visible and in the area where guests would notice them clearly. There were also crumbs and dirt on some of them. When I brought this up to her, she told me she would get this all figured out.3. My maid of honor, who came with to help me asked Heidi if the room would get colder than it was when we were setting up- as it was muggy and warm. Heidi said “oh honey, tomorrow with will be so cool in here that people will need to go outside to warm up. Don’t worry!”- on the evening of my wedding, my guests were fanning themselves and sweating, as the air conditioning never felt as if it were fully functioning (we had 175 people in the room). When I went to Heidi’s office to bring this up to her, she verbally told me only 1/2 of the units were functioning- employees working in the room let me know that this same problem was going on LAST WEEKEND! Not only was I lied to, but nowhere in my contract did it say that I would be entitled to this lack of service which caused great discomfort to my guests, bridal party and family members. Sickly relatives had to leave early due to the discomfort they felt. My other hired vendors were actively apologizing to us for what had happened and felt bad for us.4. When we walked in to do our grand entrance and cake cutting, as we got to the cake table, we did not have a knife present to cut the cake and noone was available to support us in getting one. Our band had to run to find someone in the kitchen to help us and my family member ended up handing us a butter knife after we waited awkwardly at the front for about 5 minutes.5. When I had asked a staff member to support us in breaking down the head table and to move the chairs so that our band could start performing, she let me know “I can’t lift your chairs by myself” and had an attitude. I let Heidi know about this and later in the day the staff member sought me out to speak to me aggressively and with low class words. She was disrespectful to not only myself, but also my dad. The time she decided to approach us was right before my father/daughter dance was announced- not the nicest memory for my dad and I to have as we walk on the floor to dance together. We were lucky to be surrounded by love and support from our guests to make up for the lack of care or effort from Heidi on our day.

Carriage Greens was the single largest stressor in my wedding process. My husband and I signed with them in March 2019, based on reviews showing them as Best of the Knot. Sue was the main POC, but has long since left and been replaced by Heidi.Heidi was terrible to work with. She was not organized, bad at communication & note taking, and made promises one day that were forgotten the next. Also, as a bride planning her wedding during Covid, I was particularly annoyed that she never once wore a mask, even at the peak of the pandemic and gave us an unprompted speech on how she would never get vaccinated. We did complain to Brian & Adriana, the owners of the venue and nothing improved as a result. They claim to be able to handle two weddings at a time, up to 350 people each but they couldnt manage to staff enough for my single 100 person wedding, despite our paying extra to make sure we were the only event that night.Below are my thoughts on specific features of the planning process & wedding day:Photography: This was Brians main pitch point, that we would be personally driven by him to the best spots on the golf course for amazing pictures. When our wedding date drew near though, Heidi said that wouldnt be possible because of a tournament that day, and our photographer should come out early and hunt for good shots instead. When we complained, Brian re-iterated that he would be driving us, and we set a time of 3:15pm to meet at the pro shop. The day of my wedding, he was no where to be found. The Bridal Suite: The bridal suite was in a musty smelling basement. I was told the smell would air out, and it was only that way because it was the off season. This never changed though. Also, the suite did not have the A/C on the day of my wedding, which made it really unpleasant for us to attempt to apply make-up. There was exactly 1 outlet in the room, and 0 trash cans. The door locks worked sporadically at best. The Ceremony: We were meant to have the ceremony outside, but there was thunder leading up to my wedding, and the threat of rain starting any minute. However, despite promises made by Heidi the night before at our rehearsal to clean up the spare ballroom in case, nothing was ready. There were tables everywhere, no chairs set-up, broken lamps, etc. The A/C was not on here either. Thank god the clouds cleared just in time, and my wedding planner did all the work to make it presentable outside. However, this combined with the lack of anyone showing to assist with our pictures, left our photography session a giant mess with no where good to take pictures - inside or out.The Venue generally: The venue has visibly deteriorated and not been maintained since we signed. There was water damage on the ceiling tiles and walls of both ballrooms. The A/C couldnt keep up / wasnt working in any rooms. It was over 90* that entire weekend and not a single room in the place ever felt cool, even before the guests arrived. The Reception: After 4 tastings and 2+ years of confusion over the menu and pricing, we finally had a plan of what we were to eat a few weeks prior to the wedding date. (They changed the menu each year, but insisted we had to stick the original, but also at the same time said that the food was no longer available. This went back and forth for months.) Another point that we verified several times over was the number of bartenders included, as the open bar was one of the main drivers of selecting this venue. We were told there would be 2 every time we asked. However, there was only 1 during our cocktail hour, and the 2nd only appeared after I informed Heidi that I considered the lack of a 2nd a major failure and would be seeking a refund as a result. Then the salads were served. After the salads were served, there was a noticeable delay between that and any other food. Also, even though we had met with Brian to settle the tab weeks earlier, Heidi demanded ~$500 in the middle of our reception to feed our vendors, which caught us all by surprise - since Brian had told us otherwise.

I would give less than one star if I could. We made reservations for four people. They made us pay for all four up front via credit card. One of our foursome had a back condition that morning and couldnt play. This place would not refund his share even though the place is practically deserted early in the season. We have a foursome that loves to golf on average twice a week and this place could not care less. Now they lose our golf business and any other business they could get from us or from all the people we know, because we will not recommend. Beware of this place. My guess is they are getting ready to sell the property off for housing and no longer care about their patrons.

My husband and I are so satisfied with the level of support, direction, and services offered by Carriage Greens staff. Both Jill and Jennifer were such an asset to us in terms of navigating the in’s and out’s of stressful wedding planning. We received such care and they made sure that everything moved swimmingly that day. The venue itself was beautiful and clean, and all support staff was enjoyable to work with. They also were willing to cater to our specific requests such as creating specific superhero cocktails, adjusting for dietary needs, and also allowing for incorporation of cultural foods. Despite the unintended heat of the day, Jennifer and Jill were able to help keep our guests as comfortable as possible for our outside ceremony. We are completely satisfied and are quite happy to know that all of our guests expressed having such a great time at our wedding! Thank you very much. I advise you to stay away from this venue. In April 2019 we toured this venue and were impressed with the customer service and complimentary tasting. We decided to sign with Carriage Greens then and there to hold our May 2020 wedding. However, things quickly changed after we signed and paid the deposit. The banquet director was replaced (without notice to us) by Heidi who never seemed to remember us even after meeting formally. In December and January we were asked three different times to pay the entire amount early in cash for a discounted rate. We were told that this was a way to keep it off the books. We did not agree to this because it sounded potentially illegal. Then the pandemic hit. We had to move our May date to July. As July got closer, we realized we would not be able to have 160 guests as planned in our contract. We asked Heidi if we could change the guest number to 50 to accommodate the governor’s order. She said no, and “what about the other 110 people on your contract?” We were then told that we were “legally obligated” to have a 160-person wedding and to move our wedding to next year. For several reasons, we could not put off our wedding again. To this day, Carriage Greens is still holding on to our three deposits of thousands of dollars for a service they did not and refused to provide. This is despite a “Force Majeure” section in their own Event Contract that says neither party is to be held responsible if the event is prevented from being held due to governmental actions. There are many other things I could talk about, but these are the highlights. I am warning everyone I know not to get into a contract with them, especially now during the pandemic.

We made reservations for a foursome without providing a credit card. We were not informed that we would be liable for any golfers that didn’t show up. We paid for two of us and the club demanded that we owe them for two more. This new policy began in May 2020 we were informed. We have played this course for over 20 years and never encountered this policy. We tried to reason that since we were not informed of this new policy that we were not liable. We would never had made the reservation under their current new policy. The manager/ former golf pro was belligerent and insistent. We didn’t play our round of golf under protest and left.I will never again utilize this golf course mostly because of the insensitivity of the staff and their failure to recognize that they didn’t inform us of their new policy until after we paid for our rounds! Many clubs do not hold golfers liable if they how up with less than suggested golfers at time of reservations. These guys are terrible at customer relations!

We had our reception at Carriage Greens on 6/1/18, and what an event it was! From the beginning we were treated like we were the most important event they had that year. Questions were answered quickly, calls returned, emails answered, etc. Brian was very accommodating, and made arrangements for us to come in the night before (we were married on a Friday) to set up some things. Being a very detail oriented person this was wonderful because I knew I wouldn’t have time day of to make sure everything was exactly where I wanted it! The day of moved about as smoothly as possible. From the moment we got in there until we left. We were in the larger banquet room and it was absolutely perfect. The food was wonderful, staff was accommodating to any/all last minute details that needed to be handled. The windows allowed for beautiful views of the sunset, and the patio area just outside was well lit and a great space for people to enjoy the wonderful weather we had!In terms of planning and budgeting- they make us crystal clear exactly what you’re paying. Their package is much more inclusive than any other venue we had been to, and also a lot easier to understand.I would definitely recommend anyone planning a wedding. When looking at different venues for our wedding, Carriage Greens really seemed like the best option in terms of space, cost, and location. We enjoyed the food at the tasting, loved the deck/outdoor space, and were so excited to be able to take pictures on the golf course in October!! During the months between our booking and the wedding date, there was a change of management for events. We were never notified of this new person taking over. My wife called one day to discuss setting up a meeting and all of a sudden it was this new person that didnt know anything about our booking. As we communicated with the events manager over the next few months, she seemed to never have our information in front of her and was always asking the same questions like, So, when is the wedding again? How many people are going to be there? What time is your ceremony starting? These were very frustrating since my wife and I saw them as major pieces to our event that someone in charge should know (or least look at before calling/meeting with the couple). On the day of the wedding (about 5 hours before), we had a hiccup with the chairs for our outdoor ceremony and I was asked to count the chairs and pay to order more from a rental company. Carriage greens had originally told us they had 85 chairs in good condition that we could use on the day. It turns out, they only put about 40 very beat up and dirty chairs outside, so we had to call the rental place last minute and pay for them to bring more. It took a few weeks and many calls after the wedding to get our money back from carriage greens because it was their mistake.Overall, the venue, food, location, bar, and cost were all wonderful! We had an amazing day and wouldnt change the place at all. The only reason I am giving it 3 stars is because we felt that no one really prioritized our day and had a complete understanding of what we wanted and what the plan/schedule was. My wife and I felt that we did most of the work in terms of making sure everything was good to go for the day and double checking that they had everything correct and organized.

So two young 30 somethings managers that reaked of alcohol with bloodshot eyes at 10 am decided to tell me on Saturday that my tee time was cancelled after I drove an hour away never calling never leaving a message. Both were incredibly rude and dismissive using foul language at my 60 year old mother. Even have the nerve to call my mother a liar when they decided to never call or leave a message that our tee time was cancelled. Do not go here and give these people your money worst experience I have ever had in my life. These two kids should be fired immediately . DONT GO HERE

I hosted a company golf outing here in early September. Although it rained the prior day and was very wet they still managed to get us out to golf. Course was in great shape. Our golf was followed up with and luncheon. The food was fantastic as well. The Golf/Banquet manager Lou is a great guy to deal with and he made the day quite enjoyable. Overall we had a excellent experience and i hope we can do it again next year.

Only hit 1 star because it made me in order to write a review. You guys staying open and allowing golfers on your course is deplorable at best. Golf courses clearly fall into a non essential business, see below, and every other email I have received from golf courses are during the right thing and following the quarantine laid out by the governor. You are trying to take advantage of an awful situation, and you admit your guilt when you don’t allow carts out, and ask for greens fees via pre pay. Should be ashamed, I’ll never step on this course again. Can golf courses stay open? No; recreational sports businesses including golf courses are not considered essential businesses under the executive order.

The only thing more disappointing than the horrible food served at our sons wedding (we were told the chef who provided the tasting had left, but not until we arrived on the day of the wedding) was the way the resolution was mishandled. The manager, who said he was the son of the owner of Carriage Greens promised to everything he could to make it up to us. Instead of the foursome of golf, come in and have dinner for 4 with our compliments. He sent the bride a thank you message inviting them to have dinner on the 1st anniversary, which is today. When we called yesterday to arrange the dinner, we were told that Brian was no longer involved in the food and beverage side of the facility. Call back tomorrow and talk to Tony, the F&B manager. Hell be here all day. Lo and behold, todays call resulted in us being told Tony is on vacation, call back in about a week or so. We cant honor promises made by someone else. Not even if theyre in writing? Im sorry, call back in a week or so. Today is the anniversary. Im sorry. So am I. Weve had weddings, funerals, luncheons and golf outings there over the years and believed we couldnt go wrong booking the wedding of our only remaining unmarried child, but we couldnt have been more wrong or more bitterly disappointed in the old and new managements mishandling of the matter. Never again. The thank you cards the kids sent out offered an apology for the poor food ~ it was that bad and theres no excuse for making promises youre unwilling or unable to keep. Big thumbs down. I had to check one star in order to post, but it wasnt deserved.

Huge improvement to the course since I last played a few years ago. The course has two new greens that improved those two holes immensely. You can tell the ownership has made huge investments into the course and after talking to nice staff member in the shop it seems like they are just getting started. I will be playing here again soon.

Tough golf course and great greens! You have to bring some game to Carriage Greens. Tough #2nd and #3rd holes. Mature trees and real good rough make for a challenge better then most public courses.

Came here for a celebration of life. The place certainly looks like its straight from the 1950s. It was a bit odd that the staff charged extra to cut cake if you brought the cake yourself. That being said, the food was very good, the space was big enough for the amount of people that we had, and it ended up being a good experience.

Although there was a mix up with our appointment, they made every effort to accommodate our needs. The new chef Brian was great. The food he prepared last minute, was really good. When we booked our wedding last year we were told there would be new chairs and some additional updates that have not taken place.Having never booked a wedding at the venue before it would be nice to have some wedding decor available to use or rent on site vs a stark room . Lots of photos outside, however nothing to see how it is done inside one of the ballrooms.

Course is a decent value but you definitely get what you pay for. Fairways and greens were in good shape. Rough and bunkers were not. However, pace of play was horrendous. We were on pace for a five and a half hour round before we quit after 12 holes. Some holes had 3 groups waiting on the tee and not a ranger in sight to speed up the slow groups. Wont be in a rush to go back.

I would give it no stars if possible, the one star was given simply because some of the servers were very pleasant. Kathy was a wonderful waitress. A certain other waitress was quite rude when we complained. How do you run out of prime rib and ration out ham like its the great depression when people are paying good money? Speaking of good money, didnt know our three year old son and another one year old would be charged full price and discounted respectively. Seems a bit much for an omelette with just four ingredients available. The one cup of coffee that I had before that ran out as well was decent. Guess I should have had the champagne. Oh wait, that wasnt available either. Its like they were seriously under prepared. Meat was cold, like the managers attitude towards quite a few unhappy guests. This place is simply a relic that should not and cant compete with other area reataraunts. Soup kitchen quality at best. Will definitely NEVER go back nor will I, or anyone else in our party, be recommending this place. To Kathy, the one server we dearly enjoyed, thank you for making brunch today at least somewhat enjoyable. Happy Easter.
