My son was obviously not exciting about going to tutoring but they have gone out of their way to make him feel comfortable. He has been going for a few months now and he has come a long way and is starting to feel more confident!

When schools closed in March due to COVID-19, and we were told there would be NO STRUCTURED LEARNING offered for up to a MONTH, I immediately set about looking for something – anything – to fill the void. What I ended up with surpassed even my wildest expectations. I contacted Rosina, Director of the Peabody/Danvers location of Sylvan Learning, and discussed my predicament. Not only was she immediately on board to help ME, but she set right out with her leadership team to craft a program for our ENTIRE TOWN! Within DAYS we had virtual learning available for all ages, all subjects - even SAT and ACT prep - all at a mere fraction of their regular prices, which further showcased just how committed they were to helping families during the pandemic. Not only did their online camps and programs offer our kids a reprieve (and parents a respite) from the “educational nothingness,” but Sylvan even expanded their assistance by providing online tutoring even after distance learning from school finally began. Even now, with a confirmation that the new school year is off to a fully-remote start, I’m not as anxious because I know with just a few keystrokes, I can have top-notch tutors, virtually in my home, for any subject. Of all the terrible things to come out of the pandemic, the relationships my child has been able to develop with Sylvan tutors, and the confidence they’ve been able to give her in areas she’s traditionally struggled, have indeed been the bright spots. It is not often you run across a company that excels in their field of business and their humanitarian efforts by giving back to their community in a time of need. The teachers are wonderful and knowledgeable but I have to give special recognition to Margot. She has really connected with my teenage daughter. My high school sophomore is excited about learning once again. I thought she would resent the extra hours working on school work but that is not the case. Sylvans study skills program is excellent.

We have had a very positive experience with the centers in Peabody and Swampscott. Our input session was a positive and collaborative conversation and put our daughter at ease about her commitment to the program. The tutors/teachers have gone above and beyond our expectations in terms of collaborating with her teachers and in gaining an understanding of how they can help improve her study and organizational skills. We have seen an improvement in her grades and homework in a matter of weeks. Margot and Liz are great!

I love this place because the teachers are nice, they genuinely care about what you need help on and it’s much better than mathnasium and kumon hands down!

Our daughters were both having a hard time in school. Our 8th grader was getting a C in math after the first month her grades had already improved. Our 6th grader was getting a C in Laugage arts and reading, after her first month her grades also improved. They are both now getting As. They have so much more confidence in what they are doing. My girls both were paired with teachers that gave them the ability to grow. Liz and Julie are both amazing and gave us complete confidence that our girls were in great hands. They both kept us up to date on their progress. We highly recommend Sylvan Learning to anyone that has a child that is struggling. We are definitely thankful for all they have done.

Been enrolled for a few weeks, and she is still excited to attend on a regular basis. Instructors have all been wonderful to meet and we are looking forward to better grades.
