We were completely blown away by our wedding at the Amber Room. Doug and the entire staff were amazing to work with, we cannot say enough amazing things about them! Doug worked with us every step of the way to ensure perfection on our day, calm our nerves regarding the unknown of the pandemic & responded to the many questions and concerns we had immediately. Doug and the entire Amber Room team went above and beyond! We received (and still are receiving) endless compliments on the amazing food, how beautiful the room was & overall an amazing wedding!! Our wedding would not have been as amazing as it was if it was not for Doug, Gina and the entire staff at the Amber Room. We cannot thank everyone at the Amber Room, especially Doug for making our wedding a dream come true! We would highly highly recommend the Amber Room for any special event you have!
I had my wedding reception held at the Amber Room on June 5, 2021 and I couldnt have been happier with the whole experience. The food was amazing and our personal bridal attendant Ray went above and beyond to make our day memorable. It all started with Doug and Alisha guiding my wife and I through the entire process of planning the reception. It was very nice to see both of them the day of the reception doing whatever it took to make their customers happy. In this crazy COVID-19 world we are in, they made sure everyone was comfortable and safe. Highly recommend to everyone. Give them a call when you are planning your wedding and trust me, you wont be disappointed.

Covid restrictions made planning a wedding such an uncertain and stressful situation and we ended up meeting with Doug about a month before our wedding day to see if he was able to do an emergency switch for us.Doug was quick to react and respond and made sure we were able to keep our original date and made the process smooth and easy.The day of the wedding the entire staff was fantastic and more than willing to make any accommodation we asked for and made sure we had everything before we could even think to ask. The food was seriously the best we have ever had anywhere...I mean even the bacon egg and cheese sandwiches at the end of the night were amazing.I highly recommend using the Amber room for any event you may have
Doug and the team at the Amber Room made our wedding an incredible experience when we had to pivot due to COVID. They were able to help us put together a safe, but still beautiful and intimate wedding experience in under 2 months. Doug and Alisha were so accessible throughout the process and Gina and her team were stars the day of, making our day flawless from start to finish. The grounds are beautiful and the tented patio was the perfect spot for our 25 person dinner after the ceremony. They took all the necessary precautions to make sure everyone was safe the day of our wedding and everything went off without a hitch. The food was INCREDIBLE and there was so much of it, we were full for days! I don’t have enough words to explain just how wonderful everything was, despite getting married in the midst of a global pandemic. Thank you so much to everyone at the Amber Room for making our special day just perfect. We would recommend them 100 times over for all your event needs.
In a year of so much uncertainty, the same went for planning our Wedding day. Doug was extremely honest, understanding and accommodating throughout the entire planning process. We were so hesitant and honestly didn’t know what to expect when we decided to go through with our big day on 10/2/20. It by far exceeded our expectations and turned out to be the most memorable night of our lives. All the feedback we received from our guests was so overwhelmingly positive and that our wedding was the first bit of normalcy they have experienced since Covid struck back in March. I would say to anyone who is on the fence about hosting an even during these times; to go for it! Go for it with the help and support of the Doug and the Amber Room staff!

Had my wedding there on 1/18/2020. The staff is amazing to work with, they went above and beyond to make my special day AMAZING. Would not have changed one thing about the day. The guests couldn’t stop commenting about the the delicious dinners that were served. We included the chocolate fountain and hot chocolate and fresh baked cookies at the end. An absolutely wonderful evening.
We had the most amazing reception at the Amber Room. They worked with us for months to make our wedding everything we wanted it to be. The actual day was spectacular from the hall to the food to all the little touches we asked for. We had a large wedding (240 guests) and everyone raved about how much fun they had, how the food was amazing and how quickly such a large group of people were served. If we could give 10 stars we would. On the day everyone from the event manager to our bridal attendant was so amazing, they constantly made sure we both had everything we needed and even came to ensure we had a chance to eat our meals when we were snagged by family members wishing us well and taking pictures. Definetly have your wedding here.
Do not skip this review. We have so many compliments and praises to sing about the Amber Room that hopefully this review will do enough justice to have you stop by and meet the staff. After planning a wedding, it is obvious that customer service means EVERYTHING and the Amber Room Colonnade proved to be Five star.We had our wedding at the Amber Room on 1/14/2017. We chose the Amber Room because they were refreshingly different than the other 15+ venues we visited in CT/NY(many of which our friends were previously married). The amber room was modern and classy. The impressive reception room was large yet still made the wedding feel intimate. The dance floor was beautiful and spacious with a gorgeous overhanging dark bronze tiled ceiling and crystal chandelier. The absolute highlight and pleasure for us was working with Doug Polistena in planning our winter inspired wedding. He provided imaginative suggestions and options for each of our rudimentary ideas and actually enhanced our vision. They did a great job setting up our centerpieces and decorations for the wedding day. Furthermore, Doug and his staff were available and responsive to our needs. Our guests arrived to a beautiful front entrance and greeted by a locally hired valet service (which is a must during the winter). The cocktail hour was a big hit with mini grilled cheese and tomato soup shooters and other creative passed horderves. Friends and family were sincerely blown away by the reception room that included lounge furniture by the dance floor. One of the biggest hits at wedding is a new age modern “photo booth” called the Magic Mirror. I was never one for pictures but we loved the way the giant interactive touch screen mirror re-invented photo booths. Doug’s attentiveness, attention to detail, and stress free persona made planning our wedding fun and exciting instead of a chore. Doug was able to guide us when we needed help and proved to be a reliable source for recommending some great vendors. My organization had an absolutely fantastic experience at The Amber Room. We held a fundraising gala, and this venue, the food and the service was excellent.Doug made us feel at ease throughout the process (a tall order since this was our first event, especially one with 225+ guests!), and ensured everything went smoothly.Guests were talking about the beautiful location, the delicious food and the nice staff. I cant recommend The Amber Room more highly.
My daughter and son in law had their wedding on October 12th. It was amazing. The staff was very friendly and the food at the cocktail hour was excellent, as well as the sit down dinner we had. Thank you for a wonderful night from start to finish.
I honestly cannot say enough great things about the Amber Room! I had my wedding on Memorial Day Weekend 2017 and it was more than I could have ever imagined! My now, husband, is stationed in North Carolina, so trying to plan a wedding so far from home was a bit challenging, but Doug made everything so easy and stress free for me. He was accommodating and listened to my needs and wants for my big day and tried everything he could to make it magical! The venue is truly stunning with a modern and classy feel. My guests will NOT stop talking about all of the delicious food, from cocktail hour to our surf and turf entrée and of course the most delicious wedding cake! Brad and Gina were such a huge help in making the room look so beautiful and perfect to exactly how I wanted the centerpieces set up, to the name card table and everything in between. Monica did our Wedding Cake and I had only met with her one time and showed her a picture of exactly how I wanted my cake to look like, and I was more than impressed. My cake was beautiful and more than I expected, let alone how moist and delicious it was. To this day, my guests still talk about that cake. It was truly the best experience I have ever had working with the Amber Room. Doug was there every step of the way and I couldn’t have asked for a better venue to hold one of the best days of my life! My wedding was amazing, and it was honestly and truly because of how amazing the Amber Room was and how Doug, Gina, Brad and Monica catered and cared about making my day perfect! WHERES THE OPTION TO GIVE A 10 STAR REVIEW?!?! First off I could have not choose a better place to have a high school prom. This is by far the best banquet hall in western Connecticut, if not the whole state. The food is mind blowing while the staff is incredible and helps you with every step of planning. For the price I paid I couldnt have asked for more. The place has recently been renovated, dont base anything off pictures, you need to visit it in person. It has recently been renovated and everything looks brand new and amazing. As I went in early the day of, the cleaning crew was working to make the place spotless and that they did, there wasnt a piece of dust in the place, which is incredible considering they hosted as huge prom the night before. The bathrooms look brand new and are nicely decorated. There is nothing I would have changed about this night and it is going to be one of the most memorable nights of these high schoolers life. If you are looking for a banquet hall, your search is over. Send them over and email and the stress free planning will start.
We had our daughters wedding here on Sept 20, 2014 and could not have been more pleased. From our first meeting with Doug to final meeting with Luke, all things were taken care of and we had no worries. Chef Chris was awesome and a pleasure to work with. The food was awesome, tasteful, and just superb. Our guests were so impressed with how much there was and enjoyed it all. The grounds and the staff were top notch. We were able to enjoy the time with our family and friends and did not have to worry about a thing. Our daughter and husband did not have to worry about anything either. Their attendant was right there to take care of them from start to finish. We could not have asked for more. We would definitely recommend this venue. Make sure you check them out.

The Amber Room Colonnade is a first class establishment. The staff are kind, welcoming, knowledgeable and accommodating. The service provided throughout the entire experience is remarkable and the food is incredible. I cannot say enough good things about the Amber Room Colonnade and there is never a doubt in my mind when working with them.I work for a local non-profit and we hold our largest fundraising event at the Amber Room, year after year, and each year gets better and easier. We have over 600 guests, and the event runs effortlessly with the help of the staff at the Amber Room.The Amber Room is a magical place and you would be lucky to get to experience a special occasion with them.
The Amber Room is a top-notch place to hold either a large or small function! I have hosted two sweet 16s there. One in 2012 and one very recently and both times the event was exceptional from the planning stages to the big night. The staff is outstanding to deal with and accommodating with last minute requests! The chef provided wonderful food that received rave reviews from my guests. I have also co-chaired a large scale Gala that was done at the Amber Room for the last 4 years. This is our fifth year coming back because we have been so pleased with the Amber Room! Doug and Luke are wonderful to work with.

Happy is an understatement with our experience at the Amber Room. To start, Doug and Gina were wonderful to work with from start to finish. They were receptive with all our ideas, offered us great ideas, met with us a hundred times, and we always left feeling confident that our Wedding day would be incredible as it was.The food was fantastic, starting with cocktail hour until dessert. you will leave feeling full and happy. My wife and I held our wedding at The Amber Room this past weekend and it couldnt have been more perfect. Doug and his team walked us through every step of the planning process, meeting with us multiple times to show the space and answer our questions. I cant count how many of our guests have told us how the cocktail hour food was the best theyve ever had, the main course was the best theyve ever had and how our cake was the best theyve ever had. From the moment we arrived until the time we left, we were well attended to and the Amber Room staff were quick to respond to needs our guests had. Im sorry I can only give this venue five stars because they made everything awesome and treated us like family. We explored other venues during the planning process and found the Amber Room offered more bang for our buck and a much nicer room. The staff, the food and the grounds are truly amazing.We did both the ceremony and the reception here and everything truly was perfect. Doug (who we worked with through most of the process) was very knowledge and accommodating to all our needs, as were all of the other staff members. I would highly recommend this venue!
We recently had our work Holiday Party at the Amber Room and it was magnificent! The room looked absolutely stunning and fit everyone comfortably. Doug, the General Manager, was wonderful to work with. He took care of everything and made it so easy for me. Doug gave me plenty of options and worked with me to find something that met our needs and our budget. I would highly recommend the lighting package and the photobooth - that was a huge hit! Gina and the rest of the staff at the Amber Room were also courteous, attentive, and a pleasure to work with. Between Dougs outstanding communication skills, the beautiful banquet hall, and all the different event options you cant go wrong with the Amber Room for your next event.
We have been to the Amber Room many times as guests, this time we were the hosts. We celebrated our daughters College Graduation Party on the patio. What a Beautiful night we had. The food was delicious and so much of it. Everybody took care of us with love.Thank you Doug and Chris.
The Amber Room Colonnade was definitely the best choice for our wedding venue. On our very first meeting, Doug made it very clear that anything we wanted, he would figure out a way to make it happen for us. My husband and I wanted to make our wedding day unique and this was one of the only venues that was willing to cater to our needs and think outside the box. I really felt very well taken care of. I have never planned a wedding before and Doug walked us through each step and made it easy, even fun! The outside area is gorgeous for taking pictures and we had our ceremony on site at the lower gazebo (which they power-washed for us). The setting was beautiful. The staff is amazing, the food was delicious and we really felt like they were on our team and cared about making wedding special. Also, the price. Its a great bang for your buck! We couldt have asked for a better experience.
When the Amber Room said they could customize our wedding they went above and beyond to deliver a magical evening surpassing our expectations. My husband Bart and I got married at the Amber Room on October 3, 2015. We didnt want a cookie-cutter traditional wedding, but rather a cocktail-styled party with food served throughout the night and a classy nightclub feel. From our first meeting with Doug all the way through to the end of the reception with Olga they didnt leave a detail unturned. They took their time to understand our vision and brought it to life. We were supposed to get married outside, but due to inclement weather from a hurricane they turned the tented patio into a romantic ceremony site and were able to change the space, full of guests, into a fancy cocktail hour seamlessly. We continue to hear how great the food was from our guests who were especially impressed with the quality and variety of appetizers during the cocktail hour. Our reception continued inside where large tables were mixed with lounge furniture and food stations were scattered throughout the room. We were super impressed by the cake, which was made on site. Its rare to have a wedding cake that is both beautiful and delicious but the Amber Room did both. From a bride and groom prospective… The planning process was made easy and even fun thanks to Doug. The event staff the night of the wedding was always right there to help, very attentive but never overwhelming. We cannot say enough good things about the staff, whose professionalism was through the roof. You could tell how much pride they have in putting together an amazing event, and how much they really care about their clients. My wedding was last weekend and everything was above and beyond amazing. My husband and I are not detail oriented people at all, and the Amber Room was excellent when it came to explaining certain aspects of the planning process and having everything under control at all times. Doug, Gina, and Olga are phenomenal and were so accommodating throughout the entire planning process. And of course, I have to mention the food! Unparalleled! I would recommend the Amber Room in a heartbeat to anyone hosting an event.
The staff at the Amber Room continuously went above and beyond for my family during our wedding planning process! I was blown away by their attention to detail, their patience with a nit-picky bride, and their genuine care and concern for us to have the best day ever. The Amber Room is a jewel tucked away in Danbury. We had both our childrens Mitzvah celebrations there and it was a fabulous experience. Doug and his team do an amazing job to ensure that your party goes as you envision it. They take pride in making the impossible happen. The room is beautiful and the food is amazing. My guests also LOVED the cake which is baked on the premises. I wish I had more children so I could throw another party there.

As a planner I knew what venues were available in the greater Danbury area. But I knew with no hesitation I was going to select the Amber Room Colonnade (ARC) for our big day! The decision was easy. Some have asked me why... 5 things : REAL customer service, on-site decor options, ability to cater to diversity, flexibility, ability to work w/ your budget, and the ability to understand logistics and execute their customers vision. Bottom line The ARC gave us a perfect wedding experience. We could NOT have been happier with the end result. SPACE:With the ARC the foundation is there so I only had to focus our time, money, and creativity on making the space ours w/ all the final touches. No covering up decor from the late 80s or 90s or earlier-yikes! FOOD & DIVERSITY :Their food is freshly made! From appetizers to main entrees&desserts. Nothing “frozen fresh” No sir! Chef and his team make EVERYTHING from scratch! More over it was important to us with 3 cultures represented ... we wanted to express each-in the food. And they nailed it! Our guests raved about cocktail hour. SERVICE-Gina and Staff were on top of everything. True professionalism no one their cell phone or looking miserable. & They were so accommodating and engaging. Everyone working all the time. CAKE -was amazing! Monica created a masterpiece. She listened to what we wanted it was Beautiful work - freshly made on sight! LOGISTICS-they did what We asked and supported our vision and I didn’t have to ask twice. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Alisha&Doug were with me every step of the way. We never felt like a number, or had to be tolerated. They took the time to work with us. You could tell there was a true sincerity in their actions. OPTIONS: With their never ending list of professional vendors it was a one stop shop planning. IF you are busy but want a running start... Ask and you just might receive! FAMILY: ARC are a family so when you work with them - we felt like part of their extended family. They were friends, they were confidants, professionals.... just wonderful. The Amber Room Colonnade was the perfect place for our wedding and we could not be happier with how everything turned out. Alisha, from sales, worked with us to make sure we got the wedding we wanted and was very accommodating to all our special requests. Working with her was a terrific experience which made the wedding planning smooth and easy.The venue itself was perfect! The grounds were beautiful and their covered stone patio where we had the cocktail hour was exactly what we were looking for. The food was outstanding! Our guests raved about the cocktail hour. It was a stream of endless hot passed hors doeuvres and the stationary hors doeuvres tables were awesome, the mac & cheese was to die for! Kudos to Chef Chris and his kitchen staff.Our reception was a blast! Gina was there every step of the way to make sure everything ran smoothly and on time. Dinner service was excellent and the staff was extremely helpful from the beginning to the end and again our guests mentioned how much they loved the food, especially the bacon egg and cheese to-go on the way out to the bus back to the hotel, definitely a crowd pleaser. The DJ made sure we were dancing all night and the magic mirror photo booth was a blast. Everyone loved it. Its a beautiful space for your special occasion, and also superbly managed! I just photographed a prom here, and let me tell you, I am so used to showing up at a venu to be greated with shrugs and blank stares and left to fend for myself. Last night when we arrived the manager was very friendly and accomadating, but she also had a battle plan! She ran us through some predicted traffic patterns, suggested an excellent staging area, and then went off to deal with the next crisis cool as a cucumber. I wish I knew her name so I could give her a shout out!
The Amber Room is a pinnacle venue within Fairfield County. Having grown up in the area, Ive celebrated nearly all of lifes milestones there -- be it proms, banquets, showers, weddings, or luncheons. While other venues would likely become tired after such frequency, the Amber Room consistently delivers incomparably unique events in terms of their food offerings, decor options, and vendor selections. No event is like another! Their grounds are immaculately maintained and their accommodations are elegant and well-kept. The staff has always been exceptionally well-trained and courteous while their event planners and the GM of Operations have been detail-oriented and attentive (to the point of doting!). Id recommend the Amber Room for any of lifes special events. Theyre guaranteed to make your celebration special.
As wedding joints go, above average. The ceremony was wonderful. The appetizers/cocktail hour was very good. The bride had a delicious prosecco for the toast, very smart. Entrees were very nice.
I am a local DJ in Danbury and have had the privilege of working at the Amber Room many times in my career. Every time I have an event scheduled at the Amber Room I know that my job is going to be easier. The Amber Room is always on point, from their exceptional food to their amazing staff. I will always recommend the Amber Room Colonnade to any client that does not have a venue booked. If you want first class the Amber Room is the place to go.

This venue is excellent for large crowds of people. I have attended multiple events, particularly breakfast fundraisers and they are prompt and efficient. The food is typical of this type of event. Parking is available. Traffic getting there can be very sluggish, so give youself plenty of time. Right now (May 2018) there is construction going on that will ease traffic in the future, but in the meantime it is a nightmare.

We had our Prom here and it was an absolute SUCCESS!!!!! All the students enjoyed it!!! The food was phenomenal, staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, and Doug was great to work with! Whatever we asked, he got it done! Highly recommend this place for any occasion!

Where do I even begin? Doug and his team at the Amber Room truly outdid themselves for my January 16th wedding. From the moment I met Doug, he was extremely professional, detail-oriented, organized, and very patient. Throughout my year and a half engagement, Doug remained in constant contact with me. Sometimes it was a few months before I would see him again, yet he remembered every detail of the conversation we previously had. It gave me such a peace of mind knowing I could trust Doug with everything! People kept asking me how I was always so calm during my planning process and it was because of Doug. He was so wonderful to work with and made everything fun rather than stressful. The day of my wedding was the best day of my life. When I walked into the room where the reception was going to be held, it brought tears to my eyes. Doug and his team made my winter wonderland wedding come to life. Adding the silver air wall tied everything together! Monica, the baker, made us a custom cake that everyone could not stop raving about. It was a replica of the Stanley Cup (my husband is a HUGE hockey fan!) I could not believe how she was able to replicate a picture that I sent to her perfectly. Not only did it look amazing, it tasted even better....the inside was funfetti and butter cream!! The food served during our wedding was fantastic! It was so nice that they even sent us home with two extra meals to enjoy the following day. Thank you so much to Doug, Monica, Gina, and the rest of the staff at the Amber Room. You all are truly amazing!
Absolutely wonderful! We recently booked the Amber Room for a fundraising event for a private school. Doug and his team were a dream to work with and so patient with us. When deciding on the final details, Doug gave us wonderful tips on how to make the evening even better and make our fundraiser a success. They made the venue available many hours prior to our event so we could get set up and ready for the big night.On the night of, everyone commented on how beautiful the newly redesigned space was and how much room there was to move around and dance. As for the food, I was told by numerous guests that the filet mignon was the BEST they had EVER eaten and the crab cake pairing was out of this world. My vegetarian entree of pasta primavera with grilled vegetables was also second to none.Overall, we had a spectacular evening in a gorgeous space with delicious food. We are going to book the Amber Room for our next fundraising event because it just cannot be beat.
We got married at the Amber Room on August 5, 2017 and after the amazing experience we had, we would wholeheartedly recommend.First, the Amber Room itself is in a great location. It is ten minutes away from hotels and shopping which was perfect for us and our guests. The inside has been recently remodeled and everything from the ballroom to the bathrooms looks clean, beautiful, and elegant. Though I didn’t get to see the outdoor space during cocktail hour, all of my guests commented on how spacious it was and how lovely it looked. While the grounds aren’t the most breathtaking for pictures, they are certainly adequate and we were able to get a lot of great shots.One of parts we loved most about the Amber Room though is the food. Traditionally, I feel like a lot of the weddings you go to serve food in two ways - mediocre food in large quantities or tasty food in small quantities. However, the Amber Room’s food was truly the exception to this. Their food was out of this world and the variety and enormity of the spread they put together was like nothing we’ve ever seen at other weddings. The day after the wedding, my family literally started writing up a list of all the delicious food we ate because we were blown away by it. To name a few (seriously only a few), there was everything from beef empanadas to coconut shrimp (must dip in pina colada sauce!), from lobster risotto balls to sliders, from beef skewers to bacon wrapped scallops, from broccoli quiche to clams casino. My guests are still raving about the food and how delicious it was and how every time they turned around, there was a plate of new tasty treats coming their way! Dinner itself was also fabulous. Portions are very large, but not at the expense of quality. And even with the big portions, most plates I saw getting picked up looked like they had practically been licked clean.Another great part about the Amber Room was the people you work with. Alisha was our main point of contact throughout the process and she was lovely. All of our interactions were always prompt and professional. She is friendly, flexible, and totally willing to work with you on whatever you need. On one occasion towards the end of our planning process, I had mixed up the date that we were supposed to meet with Alisha and when I called to let the Amber Room to let them know I was running late (after already driving for 30 minutes to get there), Dan informed me that we didn’t have a meeting and that unfortunately Alisha wasn’t in. Nevertheless, Dan and Gina said that they would be very happy to meet with us instead. During our meeting, we felt as though they were equally as pleasant and accommodating. And, their willingness to fit us in for a meeting despite my mistake really says a lot about them. On the night of our wedding, Gina was our coordinator and she did a great job of making sure our night went smoothly without ever being intrusive or overbearing.For the reasonable price, you are getting A LOT for your money - lovely, accommodating staff, delicious, plentiful food, and a beautiful, convenient venue. What more could you ask for?

We had our wedding at the Amber Room on July 29, 2017 and everything fell into place exactly as we dreamed. From start to finish our experience was great. We can’t say enough of how easy it was to work with General Manager Doug Polistena. He was very flexible and extremely responsive to all our requests and always returned calls very promptly.We were so lucky that the weather cooperated and we were able to take full advantage of the beautiful grounds for pictures, ceremony and cocktail hour. It was so easy to not have to travel to get great pictures.Our guests raved about the food from the cocktail hour, entrée and cake. It was fun to design our own cake and have it taste so delicious.Another plus was the large dance floor that our guest fully utilized and we even had great outdoor space to set up our custom-made cornhole.Thanks again to Doug, Gina and Brad and his professional staff for making our special day so memorable!

As the parents and hosts of our daughters Sweet 16 held at the Amber Room Colonnade I would just like to say what a fabulous experience from beginning to end. Doug and his staff made it such a PAINLESS effort. They went above and beyond what was requested and accomplished it with such professionalism and I will say some fun and laughter added in. After all this was a Sweet 16 and not a very formal affair. It was kept just as I asked, very casual, from the menu to the atmosphere and everything in between. As I just said the food was casual including many teen friendly items that were also a HUGE hit with the adults. We had family from North Carolina RAVING over the mozzarella sticks and the sauce! REALLY?! Yes, REALLY!!!!! LOL!!!! Not sure what theyre serving in NC but ....Gina, our maître d was exceptional as were the wait staff. The waiters were singing and dancing and having a fabulous time themselves and by doing this put everyone in the party mood. No slackers on the dance floor here! I just cannot say enough and cannot thank them enough for making it a night to remember for our daughter, her friends, our family and all others in between. Let me start by saying if there was a 6th star or Elite Star or something like that, they earned it.We had our wedding planned at the Matrix for 09/10/2017. Unfortunately they went bankrupt and the wedding coordinator actually recommended to go to the Amber Room and speak to Doug. We took her recommendation.Doug - he has a sense of ownership, urgency and (1) thing most businessmen lack is heart. Heart into what he does. He never stops smiling, keeps constant communication, very confident and MOST importantly, I didnt rent the Amber Room, I rented Doug! He ensured everything was in place, on time and to perfection in our eyes. Doug, I personally thank you again on this review for truly making our dream come true. Regardless the person, state or year, I will ALWAYS recommend the Amber Room for everything and anything possible because of your services.Gina - She was our banquet manager ensuring everything is going smoothly the day of the wedding. She checked on us literally, like every 10 minutes to make sure we were not in need of anything. Ill give some examples: we were assigned a personal attendant who made sure our glasses were never emptied, a flame for every cigarette I smoked, kept everyone away while me and my newly wife enjoyed our dinner and followed us to ensure we were short of nothing. Gina accommodated lighting, assisting with seating the guest with her team and her team worked effectively with her leadership. Outstanding leadership Gina and commitment to our wedding.Lastly, the establishment is BEAUTIFUL, celestial! If you want to the see the pictures, follow me on IG or FB to see for yourself. Seeing is believe. The front entrance is high class. The landscaping is something from Twilight (the movie). The whole area is big and open for party pictures and amazing background for your photographer to take. Inside, the whole place was re-modeled with new carpet, seats, paint, lighting... everything. I know this because I had my Junior prom, Senior prom and few other events but it never looked this NEW. Other places are nice, but the Amber Room is sexy. My Wife and I were recently married at The Amber Room in June 2013, and I cant say enough about the staff, food and venue. We visited a few places around the area, and settled on The Amber Room for many reasons. First, the ballroom & grounds were beautiful, as we had our ceremony & cocktail hour in the main courtyard, and once inside, enjoyed the uplighting and photo booth options, which looked amazing! Second, the food was absolutely delicious, from hors doeuvres through dinner, and our cake was custom made by their pastry chef. The French Fry Bar was a huge hit toward the end of the night, as our guests still talk about it. Doug was our salesperson, and he listened and delivered on every promise, even customizing our package to accommodate our requests. I highly recommend The Amber Room for a future wedding.
I was born and raised in Danbury, CT and The Amber Room Colonnade has always been a hometown staple. My parents and my Aunt and Uncle both had their weddings at The Amber Room and they tell me how wonderful both their weddings were because of The Amber Room. I even had my high school senior prom at The Amber Room. The ballroom was decorated to perfection and the food was delicious. I remember having such a spectacular time. This past summer I knew they were hiring wait staff so I jumped at the opportunity to apply to my favorite venue. I worked from the end of May until August when I had to go back to college. Working at The Amber Room was awesome. I loved seeing all the events come together. All of my coworkers were so welcoming and great to work with. I always had fun at work and I always looked forward to coming in. The Amber Rooms general manager Doug is amazing. He is the most personable man I have ever met and thanks to Doug I have had the pleasure of interning at The Amber Room over my winter break. I am so upset that this experience has come to an end but Doug has already invited me back for the summer and I am thrilled. Doug knew that I had an interest in event management and that I would be attending college for it. He invited me to intern whenever was easiest for me. He is so passionate about what he does and he was able to share this passion with me. I was only here for a couple weeks but I learned so much. Interning at The Amber Room has been an unforgettable experience. The Amber Room is truly a family and I can not wait until I am back. I cant say enough nice things about The Amber Room and I encourage everyone to book their next event with them! I am already planning my parents 25th Wedding Anniversary party with them!
My husband and I held our wedding at The Amber Room in September of 2015. We could not have made a better choice. The venue itself is lovely – with beautiful, well manicured grounds, stone terraces and plenty of unique picture opportunities.Enough cannot be said about the General Manager, Doug. He took care of us as though we were family – throughout the entire process and right down to the tiniest detail on the day of our wedding. For example, we had purchased a personalized runner, which we ended up not being able to use as we decided to get married outside in the grass. Doug made a point to find an alternate use for it – ultimately hanging it behind our cake himself. It made for a beautiful backdrop and was a special added touch we did not anticipate. His thoughtfulness was extraordinary.We, and our guests, also cannot stop talking about the food. Our guests were remarking about it all night. The chef, Chris, is a master of his craft. The variety and quality of the passed hors doeuvres was exceptional and the main course was served to perfection. We had several entrée choices and all were superb. Many guests ended up taking food home as they were so full but didn’t want such delicious food to go to waste. The Amber Room was also flexible enough to create a personalized appetizer course for us.The pastry chef, Monica, is also a hidden treasure. Our wedding cake was as delicious as it was lovely, with one of the most unique fillings I’ve ever tasted – our guests are still asking where they can find it! She also created pastry trays with the most delectable little treats including cake pops, mini tarts, éclairs, and custard cups – all of which were truly amazing.In short, the team at the Amber Room was not only supremely talented but they were warm, welcoming, flexible and truly dedicated to creating a memorable experience for us and our guests.
