Ive used Chapman Air & Heat for 20 years now and they have always been very professional. I recently had to have a new system installed. Tommy was great in walking me through the process. Jeff and Liz were also very helpful. The installers worked very quickly and got the job done. Ive always been pleased with the work they have done. I appreciated them getting my new system installed quickly before the summer heats gets here. Great job!
Treats their employees poorly, don’t payout final checks, overcharging equipment please check prices online, and your owner is a crook.
As I sit here in an 84 degree living room trying to think of a nice review about my experience...we spent around $20K on two top of the line AC units with new duct work. This was to replace the 15 year old units that we were having problems with. Well, one of them works fine in the back of the house. No problem there. The other one was starting to give us issues. First, it would constantly be on. Tech came out and said it was probably the filter and replaced it. Well, kept happening and the thermostat kept saying it was 76-77 in the house (when it was clearly colder). Replaced the thermostat. Now Im sitting in a sweltering house (very pregnant mind you) with no AC as I wait for the on call tech to come out and fix the issue. AC is totally not working after the new thermostat was put on. Ridiculous for a brand new system. Maybe they dont know how to work the new Trane systems? I would avoid and find a place that knows how to service the equipment they install.
Laughed at me on the phone when I called for a service for the same day.
My technician is Bobby. He is always courteous, competent, and professional. Chapman Air installed the HVAC units in my new build 2 years ago. There has never been a problem.I highly recommend them. Ask for Bobby!

We have had Chapman Heating and Air for many years in our home. They check our Heating and AC system each season. I have built two homes in Plano over the past 20 years and the last one had 8 AC/Furnace systems in it. Chapman Air did the installation and zoned it to where it gave me great control over my home and every room stayed cool as needed. The tech who just fixed my AC was a nice guy. Did the job in 30 minutes. I needed a capacitor. Lets see:$89 for service - He was here for 27 minutes so that is about $180.00 per hour. I would have been willing to pay a service minimum about that high so I wont complain too much.$7 for fuel. OK.$258.00 for the capacitor. Sorry guys, anyone can look up that part these days. It is a $50 part, max. This is not an acceptable markup.I used this company because the previous owner of my home used them. It seems Chapman would rather screw me once and leave than have me as a long-term customer. Bye-bye!
Bobby, The service Tech always does an excellent, thorough job and I am always confident when he comes to service my units.He knows where everything is and makes my involvement minimal. I have used your services for several years and at times been on your annual service contracts. I am usually pleased but at times have been concerned at how quickly the serviceman is finished with cleaning/washing the units outside. I was extremely impressed this week at how the serviceman quickly walked through the basement and the three floors to assess the units before starting his work and how thorough he was in cleaning the outside units. As it was taking him longer than others had ever taken, I would look out the window to see what he was doing. He took the front off and was scrubbing and hosing thoroughly all three units. When he came inside to take care of the indoor units, he was quite sweaty (and still smelled good), pants wet from the hosing and changed out of his rubber boots. He replaced the one filter I had requested and then changed the second after showing it to me and getting my approval. Before leaving, he asked me to join him outside so that he could point out to me the deterioration of one of the units that could possibly be on the brink of going out. I liked his service very much--quiet, professional, hardworking. I feel I got my moneys worth. Thank you!!

We are long time customers and after replacing two units this spring, we wanted to write a positive review. Even though we have a service contract with Chapman, we shopped around before replacing our units for price comparison. Chapmans prices were fair, plus an additional discount for customers with service contracts, and the installation was very professional with an accurate estimate and time frame. We always recommend Chapman to our friends and neighbors, and have only heard positive remarks about their service and products. We are very satisfied customers!
My years of dealing with Chapman Air have always been positive and solution oriented. Carla English has been invaluable in getting me to the right people at the right time and taking care of whatever needs were presented. There has never been a problem or issue too tough or too big for her. She is relentless in her pursuit of making people satisfied with the end result. This business was first class from start to finish. Tom came out and gave a very thorough description of different units and how they work. He was very honest about what we needed for our house and did not go for the big sale. I had a proposal the next day on several units and they were willing to work within our budget when we made the decision. The installation today was just as great. The installers were here on time, 8:30am, and finished the job at about 5:30pm. They were extremely nice, courteous, clean and very respectful to make sure I was ok with everything they were doing. They took a lot of time testing everything to make sure it worked properly, and then showing me how to use everything. The system is awesome. I look forward to working with them in the future and would highly recommend them.

Awful customer service. Day 3 of trying to get a/c fixed. Extremely long windows and never, not once, have they arrived in that time frame. Was given a 10-2 window today. Its 4:00 and still tech is not here. Running behind, traffic, other call taking longer.. Ive heard it all. I dont want to know how the watch works, I just want to know the time. Heres an idea....send another tech who CAN be here in your assigned window if the tech you assigned is not available!Dont get me started on the $90 service call 3 days ago they charged me for a 5 minute diagnosis. Really? After you made me wait ALL day for you?I dont care how you slice it, this company will never again get our business. Im in the service recommendation business and will make sure I never refer this company.
In June we had your company replace our 30 year old ductwork and add some supply vents to correct an air balance issue (not enough air to some rooms.) We were very impressed with your crew. They were on time, professional and NEAT. They prepped their work areas in advance to minimize the dust. I had imagined there would be dust and debris left behind after this type of installation, but was pleasantly surprised.BTW, the air balance issue is corrected and we have already seen a decrease in our electric bill-as compared to last summer.Thanks for a job well done.

Today was the first time Ive used Chapman Air, and I couldnt be more impressed! Gerardo was our technician and he was extremely knowledgeable and polite. He explained all the work he was doing and even showed me pictures of the work he completed. As he was working, my AC kicked on with more cooling power than I had felt in years! They are thugs. Please save yourself from being ripped. They are arrogant and crooks. They will replace an $ 18 item for $318 . Yes, I am not kidding and then they will not return your call when you want to question what they charged you. We just got ripped off by them. Please dont let this happen to you. They just charged us $318 for a capacitor that is $18 on amazon . I confirmed the price from other AC companies too and they said its closer to $20. Unfortunately we figured this out after we paid them .We have a new house ( less than 5 yrs old) and Chapman installed the AC system in my house and thats how we got hooked with them .Since then we have called them almost yearly for AC issues.. They are supposed to be new AC units ......lastly their service charges are ridiculous, less than 30 min in my house and $96 service charge on top of all the rip off .They rush things so much and hardly give you a chance to think and ask the right question .Lord be with you if you are still thinking of calling them for service .
I use to work for this company as a lead mechanic.I can just say from 1st hand experience. This company is a joke better yet a circus! They run around with their heads cut off not know what to do or how to do it. The quality is par at best the fact that they will rush you instead of let you do it right show what they care about. Money and not customers or EMPLOYEES! good luck chapass on going out of business. Just look a recent reviews and youll see what I mean. Use A#1 air I dont like them but they are better than the company that has filled bankruptcy 3x and changed the name twice to avoid legal issues....
This past Sunday afternoon I accidentally cut through my AC control cable and called Chapman when I could not get the system to come on after repairing the cable. Josh, the service man on call communicated very well with me about schedule and fees, and before he came out had me check some things to see if he could get me going without having to make a service call.He did have to come out though,and he had my system going in just a few minutes. He also made some quick checks to make sure my unit was properly charged and functioning the way it should. I highly reccommend Chapman. They are responsive and professional.

Anyone who says that Chapman heating and air is the best at what they do, obviously do not know the service industry. They charged my relative 400$ to replace a simple capacitor. This company demonstrates the lack of compassion most modern day fly by night companys incorporate. Charge you the highest price humanly possible for a 30$ part. I would steer clear of them if your not filthy rich, or else youll be broke by the time they leave. Most dishonorable A/C company in Dfw hands down.
Chapman Air & Heat replaced our entire heating / cooling system. We were very pleased with the system until about 13 months later when the cooling coil developed a leak due to a manufacturers defect. The parts were covered by warranty, but the 1 year labor warranty had expired by 3 weeks. Chapman replaced the defective parts immediately, and then took some time to negotiate a fair labor cost with me. While I would have preferred no cost, and Chapman would have preferred their full labor rate, the price settled on was fair to both parties, and was handled professionally. I will continue to use Chapman Air & Heat for my heating and cooling needs.
I called in a few weeks ago and I wish I could remember who I spoke with but regardless. I told her my unit would not come on. She asked me about the type of t-stat I had and when I changed the battery last I didnt know it used one. I put a new one in and the system worked. I called back to thank her because she could have scheduled a service call which I would have paid only to be told it was the battery. I appreciate the help for helping save the money. Please tell Mr. Chapman thank you for having such fine technicians.
Chapman Air & Heat installed our new Trane XL20i last month and we are 100% satisfied with the installation and the professionalism of the installers. We also had a new duct system installed and the amount of dust in our home has been greatly reduced plus no more hot and cold spots. I highly recommend Chapman.
I recently chose Chapman Air and Heat to install a new Trane HVAC system and duct work. I was very impressed from start to finish with the friendly and knowledgeable sales representative (Tom) and the installation team (Ricardo and Robert). The sales part went very smoothly - Tom discussed the menu of options and explained the difference between systems. I felt well-informed to make the decision. Installation was scheduled three days later. Ricardo, Robert & Rene were awesome. I was impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail. They did a fantastic job on the duct work and installation - the work is a dramatic improvement over the old system and other companies I have dealt with. So thankful we found Chapman Air & Heat to service our HVAC system. We went through two other companies and wasted a lot of time off work, waiting at home for service folks who did not arrive on time, did not know Trane systems, and did not fix our issue. And then we found Chapman :). They quickly called me back and sent an expert technician who arrived at the time promised. He quickly fixed our issue and was very knowledgeable and professional. In my opinion, this company does not care about customer service. We had a house built just over 2 years ago. We hsvr 3 AC systems that Chapman installed. Actually, we were told that Chatman used subcontractors to install the systems. Weve had numerous problems with these systems, refrigerant leaks on two of the units, holes in some of the ductwork. Last Summer we had a technician out because one of our units, smelled very musty and Dusty. The other two units were fine. The technician tried to say that will happen because we werent cleaning the drain or something, but we do the same thing to all of our units. The technician subsequently cleaned the coils and the unit worked fine. this summer, we have the same problem with the same unit and were being told the same story, but yet neither of the other two units have this issue. last week my wife sat at home waiting on the technician to arrive between 1 and 5. She got a call at almost 5 saying the technician would be over an hour late so she cancelled. Here we sit with a new AC that smells like a 50 yr old system and Chapman cant even show up on time, much less have they resolved it. Dont throw out excuses or used Band-Aids, fix the system the way it should be!!

Chapman air has the absolute worst customer service. They were under warranty and didn’t contact us for over 2 business days... they have stillborn fixed the issue.
I called the company as the capacitor in my air conditioner had failed and I also wanted the coolant levels checked. A new capacitor costs less than $20 and R-22 does not cost anywhere near $162 per pound. Once I received the bill I asked why it was so expensive, I was told these are our book prices.In the end they removed the capacitor and I bought and replaced it myself for $19.20 but the coolant was already in the system so I had to pay $324.00 for 2lbs of R-22 plus a service fee of $96. I have no idea how much coolant they actually put in as I was not told the start and finish pressure reading.I feel the pricing has been inflated and they took advantage of our situation, it is over 100F and we needed the air conditioning working as we have small children.Very disappointed with this company, Very high prices!!!
Unexpected service! Fast, Friendly and Reliable! I called Chapman Air because of a trusted friends recommendation. (A friend who has been in the business for over 30 years, but only works on commercial accounts). He told me to call Chapman about my 3 year old TRANE and that it was probably a simple fix. I spoke to Vicki and was blown away by the level of service and follow-up. In addition to my appointment, she told me who would call to confirm, and even who my technician would be. They were all as professional and helpful as my first interaction with Vicki. Vicki then took the time to personally ensure all of my warranty records were up to date with TRANE. And throughout the process called just to provide updates. Customer service in this generation has become so poor, that I dont even think I have expectations. Were usually just a number and dollar sign, but not so with Chapman Air. Vicki completely stopped me in my tracks with her service and follow-up.It all rises and falls on leadership, so without even knowing Marvin Chapman, I know what his values are because of how his staff operates. The only call for your HVAC needs!
I strongly advise against letting these guys do repair work until they clean up their act. I had a bad capacitor that they tried to charge – get this - $378! Mind you, I could buy this very same capacitor all day long for $30-$35 at Allied or other parts distributors and I don’t even get bulk or contractor pricing. I complained, and a guy named Johnny cut the price to $60, but the problem is… I’m not the first person they’ve tried this over-charge on.Look thru these reviews and you’ll see that they’ve been playing this same game for at least the past year, and on at least four of their customers. This tells me that they are only repentant when they get caught.

Chapman came to my rescue! A friend refered them to me after my heat suddenly stopped working. The customer service was great!! My younger children were home and starting to get cold, and they really seemed concerned. Chapmen took care of the problem and saved our day!!
We have the highest praise for Chapman HVAC. When our 20 year-old HVAC system unexpectedly failed, we requested proposals from 9 companies (including the big box stores) to replace for our system (A/C and furnace). Three of the proposals were price competitive, one of which was Chapman.During our selection process, we came to understand that installation of the system is as important as the quality of the equipment. Poorly installed equipment can’t function efficiently or reliably. After carefully considering all the factors, we selected Chapman. They’ve been in the HVAC business for more than 30 years. As Chapman claims, they’re ‘large enough to serve, and small enough to care’.The Chapman representative and installer-technicians were not only competent and knowledgeable, but were also quite courteous. The installation team was prompt and efficient. We were surprised at how quickly and carefully the project was completed. Where needed, they made custom modifications to adapt to our existing duct-work at no extra charge. The jobsite was left as tidy as before. They went the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied - and we are.Because manufacturer warranties require periodic maintenance, we also selected Chapman’s annual service plan. Because they’re a local company with rapid response teams, we’re comfortable that Chapman will be available if we ever have an unexpected loss of heat or A/C.

Chapman was very timely and responsive, and fixed my problem. The supervisor came onsite after initially running into a problem with a technician who did not correctly identify the A/C problem. He made it right, didnt up charge me, and was extremely professional. I will use them again in the future.
Chapman installed a brand new Trane unit into my house when it was under construction. I have lived in the new house less than two years and I have had three Freon leaks. First they had to repair a pipe outside, the second the pipe was near the inside unit.....now third time they say the leak is in the evaporator coil and want to charge me over $1200 to fix it. Doesnt sound right.
We have been leaving messages since this morning. We are still having the same problem you guys came out for yesterday.
