Mastery has been a very important part of my childs life for several years. At Mastery, they teach more than martial arts. They teach core values to help children be the best version of themselves! Highly recommend!
My children are thriving and having fun while learning martial arts. The instructors are amazing with their students with great energy and enthusiasm especially during the pandemic. We are so happy to have found Mastery Martial Arts.
My son just graduated with his apprentice black belt recently. We feel that the milestones that he has accomplished in such a short period of time is unbelievable. His journey began in February 2019 and it has been the most gratifying few years watching him develop so rapidly. He went from (unintentionally) having his head in the clouds kinda student that struggled with focus, to being the leader of the class. It has been a life changing transformation. Between us staying consistent at home and never missing a class even through covid he has grown into a confident leader! Also, much deserved credit to his amazing Instructors in Cumberland! They rock!

Mastery is a wonderful place to grow and get stronger.
More than just defense moves. Kids learn confidence, public speaking, patience, discipline, leadership and much more! So happy I signed my son up. My daughter will be next when shes old enough!
I just recently started my son in the little dragons program because he needs alot of help with his confidence and listening skills and already Im starting to see a difference. Ms Rossi and her team have been so patient and so good with him and I cant wait to see him grow in This program. I highly recommend this to everyone!!
I have had the great pleasure of personally sitting down with all of the Instructors from the Mastery schools. Everyone of them speaks with such passion and gratitude for their profession knowing that they are changing thousands of lives in their communities. As a parent, there is no other choice for my children. They deserve the best. They deserve Mastery
My daughter started at Mastery a little over four years ago I have seen so much growth in her, not only physically but mentally. It’s much more than self defense, they build character that you can proud of. I highly recommend mastery martial arts in Cumberland
Awesome instructors!!!! They teach great life lessons and character building. Lots of fun. I have made many friends in my time. Fantastic environment for the kids to be in. My kids and I have been there for over 5 years.
The best martial arts school in the state if not the entire northeast. The staff is professional and excellent. They truly value your kids and make it an experience for them. It’s truly a life-changing program.
My daughter enjoys going to the karate class at Mastery Maritial Arts Cumberland. She started just two months ago and I could already see confidence beaming through her eyes. She doesn’t want to miss even a single class. The teachers are awesome and they take good care of the kids and the kids have lots of learning and fun out here.
The Mastery Leadership program helped me overcome a huge fear of public speaking and develop confidence in myself. Ms. Rossi and her team are strong leaders that create an environment that helps kids be their best. Mastery is beyond martial arts and my dad maintains that it was the best investment he has made.
Cant say enough about my personal journey with Mastery. Its been a great experience for me. Made lots of new friends that I consider my second family now.So, if you want a place to get in shape, loose weight, and learn the arts, look no further. Im sure youll have a positive experience, full of energy, encouragement and satisfaction. See you soon.
Kayla has been with Mastery Martial Arts for about 5 years now. They have helped her grow and become more confident in herself. Definitely a great support system when we moved states and getting her through middle school.
I can’t say enough about Mastery! The environment is fun and family-centric. Since my son started here, he has developed so much more confidence, respect and self control. He has learned how to form positive relationships with both peers and adults and looks forward to classes each week. We are proud to be a member of the Mastery Family.
Since starting at Mastery Cumberland my son has grown with his speaking skills. When he was little (3-4 yrs old) he struggled with proper speech and even had speech therapy at school through 3rd grade. Now he gets in front of groups and speaks with confidence. This confidence comes from the training at Mastery, especially the Leadership program.
Mastery Martial Arts is amazing! They focus on the development of the whole person, not just kicks and punches. With knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff, your kids are definitely going to be in the right hands here.
Amazing Positive Culture. More than kicking and punching. Life skills and Leadership is taught in every class. Great Program, Highly Recommended!
Mastery Martial Arts has contributed in countless positive ways to my stepsons development. Ms. Rossi is an amazing instructor. Her dedication to the children can not be compared to. Michael now sees that it takes dedication, self-discipline, and hard work to achieve goals. This is will be so valuable to him as he grows in life. I will be forever grateful to Mastery for all they have done for our family. I encourage all parents to enroll their children. Mastery Martial Arts instills values into children that are necessary for all children in order for them to grow into respectful and productive adults.
Mastery Martial Arts in Cumberland is incredible. Ms. Rossi and her amazing team of leaders know how to reach every child to help them succeed. And they even motivate some of us parents to step out of our comfort zone! So thankful to have joined this in amazing community!
Great place to build confidence. Ms. Rossi is awesome, she works great with the kids of all ages and cares very deeply for each one. The MIT kids are very kind and extremely helpful with all the students. Highly recommend!
Mastery has had an immense positive impact on my 10 year old daughter. She is more conscious of eating healthy, using good manners and doing things without being asked. Plus it has given her self-confidence, helped her get fitter and learn self defence. I would recommend Mastery - and the Cumberland location in particular to anyone!
We started Mastery for my daughter to help with her discipline/listening and 3 years later still going strong. She was a shy little girl at the time and now uses all the life skills she has learned in martial arts outside of Mastery to become much more social and more importantly...a leader. Half way through the journey I decided to throw my hat in the ring and it has helped me greatly as I am challenged with leading people on a daily basis. The best part of all, is that my daughter and I get to enjoy this together which is tough to come by these days as a parent and all thanks to Mastery!
Our son has been attending Mastery in Cumberland for over 6 years....I honestly cannot say enough about this program and the leaders. He has gone from a shy little boy who struggled to focus, to a strong 11 year old black belt leader. He has gained so much confidence in himself, we’ve actually received comments from his teachers on how much he’s grown. I love that he gets to experience success, but also knows what failure feels like and has learned how to deal with it in a positive way. The life skills he is building will no doubt be a foundation that will help him throughout his life. Can’t wait to see what his future holds.
Others love it and go all the way through to many levels of black belt. My children didnt like it and dropped out quickly. My children did not like that the instructors changed all the time and didnt have uniform expectations of the students.
Amazing place. Amazing instructors. Amazing program. Love the environment and the people. Highly recommend for the entire family.
Mastery’s program is hands the finest I have ever witnessed. Thier program with develop life skills within your child that allow them to success throughout thier life. I encourage you to enroll your children at Mastery you will be amazed at the confidence it will build within them!
I would recommend them to all my friends. My son loves going. Everyone there is super pleasant and respectful. I look forward to what my son is going to learn.
Mastery Martial Arts is the Benchmark that all other schools are measured. Excellence is the Standard here and this is where I would want my kids to train!
Ms. Rossi who runs this program has a special way with kids. She knows exactly how to help children of all ages reach their true potential, develop confidence and become leaders. If you have kids this is THE place to go if you want to see them excel.
We enrolled our youngest in the Little Dragons program almost 3 years ago now and to be honest, wasn’t sure he or even his father and I would make it through the trial period! So many temper tantrums and meltdowns. I carried him out of there before class was over many times. Everyone was so kind and patient with him during his one on one sessions that he eventually gained enough confidence to join the class on the mat! He still has challenges, but Mastery is helping us teach him how to control his emotions, develop self esteem and confidence! He has not only completed the Little Dragons program, he accomplished the intermediate/advanced training and just received his candidate belt! He has been working really hard and it shows! A very big thank you to Miss Bianca Rossi and her Leadership team past and present for supporting him during this journey and for all you do every day! You are all amazing role models!
My daughter began as a Little Dragon 6 years ago. She has grown into such a leader! She even managed to convince me to get on the mat 4 years ago to begin my own journey to Black Belt! She is 6 months ahead of me and leads me every step of the way. I love that she has the opportunity to teach ME! I cant imagine life any other way. Ms. Rossi has helped both of us through a lot of tough times and pushed us both well outside of our comfort zones. ALL of the staff are impressively mature-you would never be able to guess their ages!
Mastery has given Ally the skills she needs to keep on going with her head held high when things dont go her way. She faces her disappointment and moves forward knowing there are better things ahead. Ms. Rossi takes a personal interest in each student and works with parents to bring out the best in their child!
Ms Rossi goes above and beyond for her students. She has such compassion for them on and off the mat. We really enjoyed traveling there.
I would recommend mastery martial arts in cumberland to everyone. It has been a great family experience.
Fantastic place! If you’re lkoking to develop a strong leader, who is truly confident and happy, look no further.
Learn from the best! Make a difference in your child’s future that will last a lifetime!
My daughter absolutely loves the classes. I would recommend it!!!!! Not only had it helped with her self confidence but her public speaking.
Four years ago, my daughter came home from school telling me she met a karate instructor and was really interested in trying it. As a young boy, I was really interested in learning martial arts, but it wasn’t really popular and there were very few dojo’s or academy’s available. So I thought it was one of those things were my daughter could fulfill one of my childhood dreams. I went to Mastery Martial Arts in Cumberland and met Ms. Rossi. That was all it took.Ms. Rossi is an amazing instructor and has had such an amazing impact on my daughter. Watching my girl grow into a strong and confident young lady that will have the know how to defend herself if necessary has made our decision to stay with Mastery an easy one. Oh! And that childhood dream of mine? Turns out adults are welcome to join in with their children!!! Guess who’s testing for a black belt?? Join Mastery. It will be one of the best things you can do WITH your child!
I would recommend mastery martial arts in cumberland to everyone. The instructors and MIT members are very patient and kind, they are always helping and motivating.
Mastery has been a wonderful experience for both my son and I. Very patient instructors, nice family atmosphere . All around awesome!!!
Wonderful place for children to learn and grow. Confidence built here.
Mastery has really helped my child with his confidence and self control. At first he had a hard time going from beginners to intermediate but Ms. Rossi and team of students really took time with him. He loves going and taking karate has helped him in other sports and in school. I also take class now and really enjoy the environment and learning. It has also helping me with learning it’s ok to try something even if I might fail. #yesican
My daughter has been going there since she was around six she is now almost 10. I have to say it has been very helpful for her in many areas . She has grown into a very respectful and caring little girl. She can perform in front of numerous people and also compete in tournaments with large crowds. Ms. Rossi has been the instructor at the school and I just can not say enough about her .She is very good with the children and takes the time to speak with the parent and or child if any issues should arise. A very caring young women with an edge to her . The children love her as well as the curriculum . She teaches class thoroughly and explains each move and stance. But in the same instance keeps it interesting and fun. A very comfortable atmosphere and I would recommend Cumberland Mastery to anyone. Ms.Rossi is definitely someone you would want teaching your child. As my daughter says she is the greatest!!!!!
Mastery has given my son the ability to set and achieve goals on a short term and long term basis. He has learned to manage several tasks while also maintaining honor roll in school. He has learned to control his ADHD without medication from life skills taught at mastery. He is able to be proud is all he does and work harder when he does not achieve all goals set. Thanks to mastery he does this with a smile knowing he tried his best at all times.
My son has been going there for a few months now. He really seems to like it.Miss Rossi is great and so are the MITs. It has been a great experience so far.
5 years ago my son Zachary was suffering from debilitating anxiety, to the point where we could barely get him to leave the house. My poor boy was suffering! One thing that was recommended to us to help him build his self-esteem and self-confidence was to try martial arts. First place we looked at was Mastery Cumberland. We walked in, spoke with Mrs Margolis, and Zachary had his first private lesson on the spot. The smile on his face is something I will never forget! At the completion of his lesson, Mrs. Margolis encouraged him to get on the mat and try with the others in the beginner class. He stood at the edge of the mat and cried. But he did it! He fought back against his bully which was his anxiety, and won! And here we are, five years later and he is a decided black belt, an assistant instructor and the most amazing young man I have ever met! His battle has not been an easy one but he has never given up! He truly is an example of how Mastery is more than just teaching martial arts. It teaches kids and adults to find their true selves, to find confidence and strength within themselves that they never realized they had! I couldnt be more proud to be a part of this Mastery family and we owe Ms Rossi and everyone at mastery a huge thank you! ❤️🎖️👍
My kids love it here! The kids are so respectful and ms rossi is just amazing!
I don’t have an amazing before and after story. I have read so many other stories of struggling families and that is why I started my children as early as possible. Logan started at 4.5 years old and Lukas started at 2.5 years old. It’s been almost 2 years and I have not regretted my decision for one moment. Our family is most definitely a work in progress and we try our best everyday to make our future a little brighter and easier. I say ‘we’ because my husband and I are learning and evolving along with our children. I absolutely love how Mastery in Cumberland takes a family approach to helping. If I could wish anything for my children, it wouldn’t be to never encounter struggle or hardship because such a world doesn’t exist. I desperately want my children to learn the skills to get through the bad times and handle it with grace, confidence, and humility. They are extremely high energy boys and that hasn’t changed (nor do a want it to change), though they are continually learning to harness that energy and try to control themselves when necessary. The ideals of self-esteem, honesty, discipline, and communication will be important throughout their lives and Mastery in Cumberland does an amazing job in helping to instill these values. Logan started in the Little Dragon program and moved to Beginner’s after achieving his Little Dragon black belt and currently has his solid yellow belt. This was a very proud moment for him. One of his biggest challenges is change and transition, though learning this skill is important and Mastery in Cumberland gives him these opportunities to push through and succeed. I’m soooooooooo thankful to Bianca Rossi and Michael Rossi for taking such a personal approach with my childred and every child that walks into the building. I have seen truly miraculous transformations due to their patience and preserverance. Mastery in Cumberland is the kind of organization that puts children and families above all else. It feels like an extended family, when one of my children is having a bad day or struggling with a certain skill, MIT team members will recognize and jump in immediately to assist. All the members are great, but I’d like to extend a special thanks to Ms. Bernier, Ms. McClean, Ms. Leduc, Mr. Leduc, Mr. Hosley, Mr. Letoille, and Ms. Williams. I feel thankful and blessed to know that Mastery in Cumberland is fostering good citizenship in my boys and helping them in their journey to become confident, happy, and successful throughout their lives.
My four year old son began classes with Ms. Rossi at Mastery MA in Cumberland last August. In just a few months, he has made noticeable gains in self confidence. Prior to wearing his very first karate belt, he struggled with self confidence daily. We couldn’t even sing “Happy birthday” to him because he didn’t want people looking at him. His birthday has recently passed and he had agreed we could sing to him! I have seen him interacting with other kids at the playground he hasn’t even met before, including INITIATING conversations with them.Ms. Rossi has won him over in so many ways. She has gained his trust and made him feel a sense of belonging to this school. I felt discouraged when Matthew spent numerous classes sitting on my lap NOT participating in classes, but Ms. Rossi wouldn’t give up on him. Slowely, Matthew began making baby steps towards participation and sure enough, he is now participating in classes.I’ll never forget the very first time he ended class. Just like a “leader”, he stood up with Ms. Rossi, in front of all the other students, and was able to help her end his session. With tears in my eyes, I couldn’t have been any prouder of him.Ms. Rossi and her MIT members have made every attempt to make Matthew comfortable and happy at this school in Cumberland. I cant thank this team enough for being there for him and helping me achieve the goals I hope for when it comes to a happy and healthy childhood and beyond for my Matthew.
We first learned of Mastery after attending my nephew’s birthday party. My daughter Taegan was struggling with her self esteem, confidence and emotions at age 7 and I was looking for anything that would help her through such turmoil. After talking to Ms. Rossi, I knew I had to at least give Mastery a try. I am so glad I did. Taegan has always been one of the highest students in her class, but the teachers always commented that she wouldn’t share her knowledge willingly, but rather always needed to be called on to share. After just a few short weeks at Mastery the first thing her teacher noted was that she was raising her hand more frequently and sharing what she knew with her peers! I was thrilled and Taegan was feeling proud of herself and confident in her knowledge base. At home I began to see her confidence grow. My once always happy little girl began to re-emerge. Over the passed year, Taegan has gained skills and strategies at Mastery that have helped her control her emotions. Often the girl who “cries at the drop of a hat” or who becomes upset over what appear to be minor things, she is now able to stop, think and reset without too much or any adult intervention. The staff at Mastery is second to none. From the parents to the MIT members to Ms. Rossi and everyone in between we truly are so thankful to be part of such an amazing, supportive, loving family.Taegan is now a green belt and a member of Leadership, her goal is to one day be “just like Ms. McClean and Ms. Silva.” As a mom and a teacher, I couldn’t be happier to hear that these are her role models! Her younger sister, Moira also began Mastery last year. She took a small break to begin skating lessons (she wants to be a goalie), but returned to Mastery once Violin lessons were over. After months of training on the sidelines during her sister’s lessons, Moira was determined to get her yellow belt and exceed in the beginners class. Today she will be taking a private lesson to prepare for her first intermediate lesson on Monday as a camouflage belt! While Moira has never needed support in being confident, she definitely needed support in the area of self-control. She’s my pistol child, the one that loves fiercely, but also tries my patience equally as fiercely. For this, she has needed Mastery to focus her mind and body. She’s needed Mastery and their amazing staff to encourage her mental and physical growth in a positive manner. She’s even needed Ms. Rossi’s delicate, but firm approach to get back on track and work to be her best self. I could not be happier with our decision to join Mastery.
Mastery has been one of the best things we could have ever done for our son. He has learned so many great values, such as leadership and discipline, that he canwill be able to carry with him throughout life. In the three years we have been part of Mastery, we have seen our son blossom and grow in his confidence. Now that he has achieved his black belt, I am excited to see him continue on this journey. Shout out to Ms. Rossi, who expects a lot of her students, but most importantly motivates them to be the best they can be and never gives up on them.
Mastery has been an exceptional experience for my daughter. She started as a Little Dragon when she was four and is now a purple belt and just a little over a year away from her apprentice black belt. It is more than the phyiscal activity for her, it is an amazing opportunity for her to build her confidence and meet new people. She interacts with the 3 and 4 year olds as well as she does with the older children in the class (10-16 years old). Mastery fosters an amazing bond not only with the children but the parents as well. It is an amazingly supportive community and often refered to as Mastery Family.Ms. Rossi has brought a tough, but at the same time gentle approach to her classes. She never tolerates less than a students best, but at the same time is incredibly encouraging.Anyone looking for a positive place to be, this is it.
Great school and staff
