My wife and I sought out martial arts for our 6 year old son to aid in the development of his coordination and physical awareness. I originally came across Culver City Karate through their website, and I was immediately drawn in by their philosophy. Seido is a unique system of Karate that places as much emphasis on character, compassion and positivity as it does on honing strength, skill and discipline…and that is exactly what I want for my son. I also appreciate how Master Ted keeps himself up-to-date on contemporary developments in the educational field through groundbreaking books such as “Peak,” “Grit” and “Mindset.” My son has been taking karate now for 4 months, and he absolutely loves it. Wonderful instructors and culture.

My son has been coming for a few months. Hes only four but has been able to follow along in the class. It is serious and they expect the kids to take it seriously, but they make it fun too. The price is very reasonable and the class hours are flexible, which is always a bonus with kids schedules. In short, Culver City Seido Karate is the best!! If you are on the fence, go try a class and see for yourself. Oh yeah...and sometimes they have class on the beach! Awesome!!

We have tried other places before we started here a year ago. My son really loves the teachers, the students and the training he gets here. The staff is very patient and kid friendly while teaching the kids the techniques and discipline of the martial arts.

Great dojo for kids. Teachers are friendly and fun. The kids learn at their own pace and the teachers evaluate when they’re ready for their next belt based on their individual growth rather than calendar days. Unlimited classes for a flat monthly fee is great too.

My daughter has attended for a number of years and loves the place and the teachers. Very kid friendly. Builds fitness and discipline.

My 12 yr old and 10 yr old sons can be a bit timid, so we encouraged them to take karate. A few years back, we found Culver City Seido Karate, and are so happy we did, as Master Pastrick has an excellent manner with the kids and really has helped them develop their confidence and strength and discipline with their karate training. It has been really heartening and inspiring to see how far they have come along in their development thanks to Master Pastrick.

Weve been going here since my son was 3 (over 3 years) and love it. Our son has learned a lot and enjoys the classes. Ted Pastrick is a natural teacher and has a wonderful rapport with kids of all ages. It is very affordable, approachable and welcoming. I highly recommend it.

Seido Karate Culver City isnt just for kids, its also a great place to release the tension from a long day of work. I attend the adult classes and started 3 months ago. The instruction has helped to get myself in shape and has definitely made my senses more acute. Highly suggest coming to a intro class and getting a great work out. Kicks my butt every time and I keep coming back for more. Love the training and the spirit of this Dojo. See you there...

I have my two boys (6 and 4 year olds) in CC Seido Karate and I couldn’t be happier. Traditional dojo without the non-essential glitz. The main instructor, Ted Pastrick, is a hell of an instructor that not only teaches the kids karate, but also the concept of open mindness, which ties in well with the students overall growth. Can’t recommend this place enough. Tossing in an extra star for good measure. ⭐️
