Installers showed up when they said they would. Was a painless experience for us to have a new furnace and air conditioner installed with the old one hauled away. Quality system. City inspector commented on what an excellent job they did on the install, that you dont always see things installed as good as they did.

Outstanding service. Called at 455 pm and they were able to send a very experienced tech out by noon the next day (and this was a Friday during a hot spell). AC was not working. Quick diagnosis, replacement part was in van, and cool air restored. Thanks GV!

Called this Company after central AC died on hottest day in August. Heath promptly arrived (with mask) looking professional and we discussed the problem. He quickly went to the outdoor compressor and discovered the source of the problem. The system was blowing warm air and he showed me a wire leading to a capacitor had mildew rot. He repaired the wire removed the dead mouse and gave the entire system a cleaning and fluid check. System was back up quickly and at a very reasonable cost. Use this service, highly recommended

My A/C was making an odd (to me) noise and needed maintenance. The tech came out and checked it, did maintenance, found nothing unusual, and charged me only for maintenance. He explained the noise was fairly normal and when it occurs, nothing is happening in the unit causing damage. Really pleased with the service and not being upsold for something I dont need. Permanently in my home contacts and would definitely recommend.

We purchased a townhome and had Phil with Golden Valley inspect the HVAC system and install a new thermostat. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the system to us and answer all our questions along with great maintenance advice. I will use them again when needed!!

I called them when my thermostat went blank. They suggested i check for loose wiring before having them come out to look at it (though they were perfectly willing to come out if I preferred). They told me what to look for and how to access the wiring. I followed their directions and the problem is solved. This is why I am a loyal customer.

His professionalism and guidance helped me select the appropriate units for my needs, reducing the choices to simple options of noise vs. cost.The job involved rebates from several sources. Susan from their office made it painless. All documentation was sent via email; she took care of the onerous job of filing for all the rebates involved. Scheduling was a breeze, and when she called with an opportunity to move up the date became available, they were there, bright and early.The installation crew was extraordinarily professional. Over 6 or 7 hours, they removed the old hulk of a furnace and installed the new one. The craftsmanship and detail they demonstrated was consistently first rate. Every installation needs to be custom. They also endured my questions with good grace and smiles.In a final complement, the inspectors for both the mechanical and electrical work spoke highly of them. “They do great work.”

These guys were great. Didnt try to oversell me on extras I didnt need or didnt fit with my house. The techs were perfectly on time and got everything done quickly and then gave me a very thorough overview of the new system they installed. They even did a great job cleaning up before they left. Will definitely be using their services in the future.

I turned to GVHA a few years ago when another HVAC company stopped responding. I have my furnace and AC checked annually. The guys are personable and explain thoroughly. They really are there to be sure that you get the most out of your HVAC system! I was so glad when I found out that they service where I moved to this year. Highly recommend.

1/2020: The work was good and the servicemen were courteous, but PVC glue was dripped on our washing machine along with dark grease marks. Now I have purple marks and grease marks that wont come off! (In trying to remove the grease, I started removing some of the ink on the washer, so I stopped.) Someone from the company came to check on it, but nothing has been done to accommodate the marring of our washing machine.Update 1/21/20: After seeing our review, we were contacted by the company. They said they wanted us to be satisfied, and they would replace the front or send us a check to cover the cost of replacing the front. They were very prompt in sending us the check. We received it within a few days of them contacting us.It is nice to know there are companies who still value good customer service, care about their reputation, and will follow up on dissatisfied customers. I would, definitely, work with this company, again.

Spent the time to walk me through what may be needed in order to move my air conditioner and give me an idea on price. Other would only send a tech for $100 in order to quote. There tech showed up and did a great job, confirming everything was as I wanted before finishing up.

I think it is fair to say I am a demanding customer. To be honest these guys were great. I had a ton of questions, before and after the install. They have always been straight forward, honest, and a pleasure to deal with. The install crew was truly first rate.

Been a long time customer, however after a recent service trip this fall, we will no longer use Golden Valley Heating & Air. Technician caused significant damage to our basement flooring due to unplugging our condensate pump causing a slow leak over several weeks. When finally noticed we had a return visit to confirm. When confronting service manager Dennis- met with zero resolution to matter, unprofessionalism, and several excuses for his delay in responses. I was refused the opportunity to speak with ownership and the liability aspect was simply tossed back in my lap as homeowner as that his technician refused any such actions, and it was noted I could have unplugged unit. Essentially their word against mine as the homeowner... even though I have video surveillance of technician clearly plugging in his shop vacuum to the outlet that pump is normally plugged into. I would strongly encourage anyone considering GVHA to closely supervise their technicians coming onsite, or to have surveillance footage of work being performed. If zero stars were an option I would leave... as the lack of customer service displayed by the service manager was greatly disappointing, not to mention the lack of involvement by owenership with front line customers in these scenarios shows their lack of interest in client base.Included is the water damage in our home! This company does not stand behind their work. Please avoid them. We are so frustrated! These floors are only two years old! Never had water in our basement.

Im so far happy with the install of both HVAC systems (AC & Furnace). The only thing that keeps me from giving them 5 star is the price. Im learning that I may have over paid. If using Costco, shop around with other dealers in Maplewood or others that work through other Costco branches before settling on one.

The installation went very well and we are very pleased with our choice of Golden Valley Heating. They also submitted all the paperwork for our rebates and kept us informed of the process and what we could expect. I would highly recommend this company.

After getting ghosted by a couple other HVAC companies, I called these guys and they immediately put me on the schedule. They showed up on time, knocked the work out and were proper gentlemen throughout the whole deal. They installed a gas line for our new stove and would 100% recommend!

I was told by another HVAC place that my furnace was basically dead the last time they were here, the tech that came from GVHA got me going and said unless theres something major it would last at least another 5 years. They showed up on time and got me going in less than a half hour. Piece of mind, fast service, this is the standard for all home services.

I am a new homeowner and dealing with this company was not a great first experience having someone come to my home.I called them because my furnace was blowing cold air. They sent a man out two days later and when he got here I was outside in my backyard and didnt hear him knock. I looked at my watch and realized he should be here and went outside to let him in.I could tell he was already ornery from the second he walked in. He must have waited only 2 minutes. Boo hoo.He looked at the furnace for a few minutes and then said the sensor looks like it needs to be replaced but he doesnt have the part so he needs to drive back to the shop to get it. He left and came back about 20 minutes later, changed out the sensor (an $11 part), didnt bother checking if it fixed the issue (which it did not) and had the audacity to charge me $200. So basically they wasted my time and money. I will never use this company or recommend them.TLDR: ornery man spent 10 minutes looking at furnace, changed out cheap part, charged me $200, didnt verify problem was fixed or offer any advice and left.

I called Golden Valley Heating & Air when a thermostat fuse and a capacitor on my AC unit blew. The technician showed up when promised and was able to diagnose the problems quickly. He was also very patient with my questions about proper care of the unit. I was really impressed with this company and I have their flyer permanently affixed to my fridge with a magnet. I recommend them highly!

Our experience with Golden Valley Heating & Air was very positive. The presentation of the bid was clear and easy to understand. The installers showed up on time and wore booties over their shoes to keep our floors clean. They did not leave a mess in the basement.We got three bids. Our handyman used to install furnaces, so we asked him to look at the bids with us and help us decide which one to choose. He was most impressed with Golden Valleys bid. It happened to be the lowest, but we were more interested in quality than price.After the furnace was installed, we asked the handyman to look it over. Heres what he told us:I was impressed with the sheet metal transition under the existing plenum and evaporator coil; most folks either wont take the little bit of extra time - or dont know how - to do precise tin bending. Pittsburgh seams are, in my opinion, a mark of craftsmanship; its how I used to do it but its kind of a lost art now. It is a clean install and looks great.The installers showed us how to change the filter and asked us several times if we had any questions.The furnace has been working fine.

My schedule was made accordingly to my availability. Two technicians arrived on the day of installation and both were very professional and completed the job well. I did have to have another technician come to fix the outside furnace line after the inspection was completed by the city inspector. The lines were fixed very quickly by the GV team. I’d definitely recommend them to my friends and family members.

AC stopped... just stopped. First service called couldnt figure out the problem. Web search showed Golden Valley Heating had a good reputation and was relatively local. Got appointment five days out. Technician arrived early in promised time window. Quickly found problem and replaced faulty component. He the recharged my system. The bill was way lower than I had expected. The system has worked fine in the five weeks since that visit.

Best recommendation is that the 2-man crew was on time as promised and kept me apprised of their progress. No issues since the new A/C was installed, especially as there were more steamy days this summer than usual.

They were easy to work with, knowledgeable, pleasant, efficient, and patient. I was anxious about the process of replacing my entire HVAC system, but they made the process easy and comfortable. I would definitely work with them again.

Hard pass. I guess I had a tricky job and was trying to add AC to my upstairs. I don’t know what I’m doing or what to do - these guys should.... They tout their million years in the business, but that doesn’t mean they’re the best. The owner didn’t want to come out to look at my situation, because it was their busy season/didn’t have time/easier jobs/easier $. The estimator sent him photos and he wasn’t into it. I never even got my quote for my job, but wouldn’t have used them anyways. My neighbor also passed on them. If you have a simple install maybe these will be your guys - but there’s a million other companies, I’d look elsewhere. I did and found someone who rocks.

We had an appointment for GV H&A to come out and find out why our AC was failing and the day before they arrived, the furnace sent a burned plastic smell through the house and died. The repairman arrived on time, wearing a face mask for safety, was professional, quickly diagnosed the problem and had a part that would work - the fan blower motor had died. He replaced it and got the furnace and AC back up and running. He didnt try to upsell us on anything we didnt need and I very much appreciate it because it would have added overwhelm to a stressful situation. $409 was the total, $180 for the motor, other parts $10, labor $219 for about 2.5 hours. It was reasonable, cheaper than buying a new furnace, and much less hassle than it would have been to install a new furnace. We very much appreciate the work they did and will use their business again in the future.

They worked with me on disconnecting my old AC unit early so I could install a new cement pad and re-landscape the area for the new AC unit. The technician who removed the old unit & the installers who put in the new unit when all very professional, friendly, courteous and answered any questions I had. We worked with GV as they are Costcos local Twin Cities installers. We ordered an A/C (16 SEER, 2 ton) and furnace (50K BTU (I think), two-stage gase, ECM motor). They were communicative and worked with us to find a good time for installation. The day before we received call telling us when they would be there the next day. John arrived on time and began working. Later two more guys showed up and they had the install done in about 8 hours. All new furnace and needed ducting, moved our A/C and installed a new cooler line and electric. Everything was cleaned up afterward and they were all really nice people. Definitely recommend GV.

We recently had a new AC and furnace installed. Our AC went out the hottest weekend of the summer thus far. We called several different companies for quotes. There was $8,000 range difference between the companies (for similar products). Golden Valley Heating and Air was slightly more than our lowest bid, but we went through Costco and received a 15% rebate/cash card off the total cost, which made the total we paid (after the rebate) significantly less than any other companies we received estimates from. Initially they had us about 4 weeks out for install, but were able to get another customer to switch their install date with ours so we only had to wait 10 days. We were happy with the installation crew - they were happy to go over everything with us following completion and even during installation. We have not had any issues that required follow-up service calls (good), so Im hopeful their customer service (when needed) will be equally good. The pulled all the necessary permits and submit all the rebates for you. Overall, very pleased.

Last month we discovered that our Air Conditioner was broken. Unusually the beginning of June was very hot. We looked up online and called The Golden Valley Heating and Air because of their good review. They told us there was a waiting list. After waiting for a month, Heath (HS), one of their technicians came out and fixed our AC. He was very knowledgeable, efficient and very friendly. We really recommend this company to anyone who wants to fix their AC and it was worth waiting for.

Having a furnace problem in the winter is worrisome, to say the least.My experience with GV Heating and Air was very helpful in overcoming my fears with a gas leak I was experiencing.The technician seemed very competent while fixing this problem and also noticed a problem with the blower motor. He stated the facts, with no pressure to fix it then (part of me wished he would have said what he would do). Golden Valley H&A is the most honest company I have hired in years! - we had another service company to our house, who told us our 10 year old, top of the line furnace was bad. We were shocked! Fortunately we got a second optimum. From GV H&A. He came out within an hour, quoted us for $1000 less than the competitor and said, that he knew they could fix it and didn’t think we needed a new one. His guy came 30 minutes later and fixed the furnace! We were so grateful we didn’t spend thousands on a new furnace. The fix?? Leaves were stuck inside. The other company was just trying to sell a furnace. Highly recommend calling them! They will be our first call always!

We can’t say enough about how good it has been to work with Golden Valley Heating and Air. They recommended the right equipment for our home, handled all permitting with the city, and even applied for the utility company rebate. The crew arrived when promised and knew exactly what had to be done for the installation. The sheet metal fabrication on-site was a work of art. And we are extremely pleased with how the new central air unit is working: quiet, effective and efficient. They even followed up to correct a small wiring glitch that was existing from the prior equipment installation. You can’t go wrong using this company as they are genuinely concerned with customer satisfaction and take pride in what they do.

I had them come in to do a tune up at the beginning of the first winter I owned my first house. He was quick, efficient and incredibly courteous. He utilized filters that were already there and even re-used a piece of scrap flex pipe I had to re-hook up the drain. It wasnt a huge cost savings but I appreciated him taking every effort to make it affordable. He also was able to educate me on my furnace, maintenance, and general heating and cooling information. Will definitely be calling again.

We had a new Lennox furnace and air conditioner installed 6/27/19. The crew arrived exactly at the time I was told by GV Heating & Air. They were all very professional and friendly and I felt very comfortable having them in my home. They finished exactly at 7 hours which was an hour less than the quote I was given. They cleaned up their work areas so you wouldnt even know they had been here. I felt that they were open to my questions and wanted to ensure that I was happy with their work.
