I had a horrible experience with Botto Gilbert Law Firm in Crystal Lake. In late 2020, I was coping with the loss of my mother and during the same time frame, my wife was in favor of filing for a divorce. As you can already tell, this was the lowest point of my life and I pray that no one should ever have to deal with such crises. I hired Andrew, Attorney at Law to help with filing the paperwork at the local court and schedule a hearing with the Honorable Judge to expedite the divorce proceedings, our case was as simple as it could get, there were no claims made by either parties and our divorce was finalized at the first scheduled hearing, and with that said, Andrew initially agreed to take on the case for a total of $1500 and I would only be required to pay extra for the time and effort for any follow up hearings, and in my case – there were none. I paid an initial deposit of $1000 and we had a balance due of $500. Keeping my state of mind under the spot light, I mistakenly dropped off my rent check of $900 to the law firm and it was cashed soon thereafter. I was under the impression that I would be due a refund, but absolutely not! – this law firm will milk you for your money and do not expect to get a refund. I’ve been told, the law firm invested a total of 6.8 hours towards my case and the total amount charged is over $2200 -- (Andrew took on the case for $1500!!) – After speaking to the law firm numerous times, I’m being referred to the fine print of the agreement that I initially signed, which stated that they would charge for any extra time. I honestly feel that anyone hiring this law firm should get their agreement reviewed by another law firm to ensure there you do not get nickeled and dimed later; and I highly recommend that this law firm should advise their clients as soon as the amount being charged is reaching the threshold of the initial agreed amount to avoid any confusions later with their clients.Now in 2021, I am being asked to pay an additional $375 for the court cost that they clearly forgot to include in their initial quote. I work a minimum wage job and I simply cannot afford. I’ve pleaded multiple times to the office manager and their other Senior staff to waive the remaining balance, but they are standing firm.I’ll never recommend this law firm to anyone!

Go elsewhere, they are only concerned with making money! Had a brief interview with George in regards to creating a will. Submitted my paperwork and never heard back. Multiple calls to the office, they always said he was at lunch or not in, etc. Never available. They said that they would leave a note for him to call me. He never called. When I finally heard from him he said he wouldnt make enough money on creating my will and it was not worth his time. What a waist of MY time!

I must say for my first time ever having to hire an attorney, this place did it. I went through a divorce and have 3 kids. Elizabeth literally worked her magic and I’m officially divorced and got everything I asked for! Even with the whole COVID-19 she still fought! I highly recommend them. My experience with them has been absolutely horrible! There is a girl that works there as only a secretary, Erin and she is the WORST! She goes on their computers constantly and stalks people, divulging private information to her family members. Erin uses this information for her own personal maliciousness. She has even used this information to harm her own niece and nephew. She carries herself as a “representative” or even as a lawyer at the firm. Contacting other law firms and the police. Erin is a relative of mine so I have seen this all first hand. Steer clear of this place. Really some bad unprofessional business here.I can’t help that your secretary is the one causing the issues I’ve stated. As well as I can’t help her immoral “family” behavior. It not only shows your firms unprofessional, unethical, immoral behavior. But as well as I was there (with Kristin) when your attorney left the courtroom mid-hearing in tears. If you support their unprofessional behavior so be it. But your statements are incorrect and false I’m afraid. As well as I never said anything about family In my post, so it’s clear your lies no??

Disappointed that I waited over 2 weeks for even a consultation with this office and 2 minutes prior to our appointment, I receive a call that he had to leave the office for an emergency. While I understand that things can come up, calling 2 mintues before is unacceptable as well as not having anyone else available to even give me a minute of their time. I will not be using this firm and will find someone who is interested in representing me.

I am an investor. I was selling my property in the city of Chicago and my attorney Mr. Andrew Mchonney, worked tirelessly on a very complex deal. A typical closing lasts 2 hours, but due to the complexity of the deal, he worked from 6 am to 7 pm straight on the closing day. He was super polite, on the task, it was my pleasure to work with him. I run out of words to describe my appreciation for him. He is a super star in my humble opinion.

They made sure that I was not going to be taken advantage with the original proposal from my ex wife and her attorney and fought for my rights. Andrew is an attorney that works all hours needed to help his clients and their cases and Erin is constantly keeping you up to date with any materials or paper work needed for your case.When I am asked how long my divorce took and explain the time frame, the first reaction is WOW! That is quick, but it is because Andrew goes in with everything aligned and is an excellent negotiator. When Andrew wasnt available because he was at court or working on another case, I could count on Erins help and assistance.I am happy to know that I now have a law firm to work with if I ever need legal assistance in the future.

Do not hire Elizabeth as your attorney. She cried and had to leave the courtroom because a judge chastised her. Super unprofessional. All she did for me was give me a big bill of attorney fees and did absolutely nothing for me.

Never return calls and bill outrageous sums to the clients and won’t work with you at all.

My 1st lawyer, Jeanne was very nice and understanding. She did her job well. I wish I could say the same about my 2nd lawyer, Elizabeth. However, I am not satisfied with her “work” She was not compassionate, she was very pushy on getting paid and she unfortunately did not do much of anything to help resolve my family case.
