I go here for the convenience, but the other negative reviews on here are accurate.In the past year and a half some of the best machines have been taken away, and the dumbells have been replaced with an older set. Its a very dirty gym.If you have the choice of going somewhere else, I recommend it.

The location in Middletown was great. Nice people, nice staff, access to anything you could ever need and more. 5 stars.But since it has closed I have transferred to Cromwell. It was very underwhelming. Lack of accessories, the benches and dumbbells are gross, and it is extremely over crowded. Also a lack of organization. The only plus- is you are paying for what you get. The only difference to planet fitness is the “lunk alarm”. Unless your a body builder just go to planet fitness.

This gym has sadly gone downhill over my time there and I have now cancelled my membership. Cleanliness is by far the worst I’ve seen of any gym. Very dirty, no one is wiping down machines or weights even in the COVID season we are in. When masks were required, entitled members chose to follow their own guidelines. Staff has one headphone in as they spend their whole shift looking at their phone. Takes an act of Congress to get a returned email from these people. Not surprised their Middletown location closed and I’m sure others to follow.

Nice gym, lots of equipment. Not the most up to date but has everything you could need and then some. Ive also been told that theyll be doing some remodeling which will be an awesome thing for this gym!!!The reviews are correct the place is pretty dirty and doesnt look like its been cleaned in years but 10 bucks isnt a bad price. As the saying goes you get what you pay for, with that being said it could be worse!

I concur with other reviews about this place. After my son stopped attending for over a year due to Covid, I decided to cancel his membership and went through the same ridiculous process of having to take time and money to send a certified letter. What utter nonsense. I complained via email, explaining their policy is crazy, accomplishes less than an email request and follow-up confirmation, but they insisted on the certified letter or they would keep my son’s membership active. Both LA Fitness and Planet Fitness allow you to cancel in person at the gym or by other simple, normal means. Not this place! They want it to be so cumbersome and difficult that you won’t do it! Best advice ... don’t join in the first place. Stay away from WOW.

WOW This gym is garbage and the process to cancel membership is insane.

I haven’t even been going to this gym since Covid because I no longer like it there but I’ve been fine with them taking out my monthly payments until my year is up in December. What i find SO ridiculous is that to cancel i have to write a letter TO THE GYM ITSELF and PAY for it to be CERTIFIED so that they know its me rather than just being able to go into the gym show my face and my ID and cancel when my membership is up. Really crazy to me how this gym is still in business.

This gym is DISGUSTING SO DIRTY!!. I’m surprised I haven’t gotten a staph infection from being here. Who knows when the last time a machine was cleaned or wiped down. The employees are no where in sight. The bathrooms are FILTHY, they’ve clearly never been cleaned. I posted a review twice and they keep removing it!

August2020: walked in to see if i could go back to resume my exercise routine. Got depressed and walked out. Sad to say. The place was covered W/ do not cross tapes... Like a crime scene.I have lots of ideas to make this a much better, happier place, but they all require investment. Great gym

The gym has cheap membership prices and has the basic equipment but you get what you pay for. Not the cleanest gym. And not like daily use dirt but grime and dirt from years caked up. Im surprised there hasnt been a staph, ringworm or other infection outbreak here. The ceiling also leaks when it rains. The staff are pleasant.

This is difficult. I enjoy going there. Its close but the staff does nothing. Machines Are not wiped down. Weights are being dropped. Loud grunts echo. A lot of rule breaking and no policing.

Manager and employees not anywhere in sight and don’t enforce rules that are posted on walls and doors but only do when angry mask shamers force them to. The quality of the gym is worse than a pigs pen, and being in that gym makes me worry for my well being.

Disgusted and speechless because of the poor quality of this gym. Just enter the gym and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

I like how easy it is to come in for a great workout at a good cost. Before joining I checked out a different gym open 24/7, but it would have cost more and the hours WoW has are more than enough for my busy schedule. Also love the 2 for $10 family plan theyve had for a while.

Horrible!!! Best way I can explain it. Canceled my membership in October 2017 via certified letter ( they will not cancel unless you request it certified ) They have continued to charge me each month. I’ve called to speak with a manager at least 7 times to be told they were not available. I have explained to them the USPS tracking shows they received it on 10/21 and I was then told I had to physically go to the gym to show them the receipt!?!?!? Unacceptable. I do not recommend this gym to anyone.

I dont know why everyone hates this gym... I love the people here, the workers are friendly and Ive become friends with all of them over the past 4 years Ive been attending. I rearly ever wait for equipment and everyone is courteous to me. This place feels like home to me and it has a better vibe than all those other gyms that feel like factories. Ill appreciate the staff and they recent work theyve been putting in to make this a better place. Great job guys.

The membership policies in place here are very deceptive. In addition management could careless about resolving any issues. My advice be very careful as their cancelation policy is the worst I have ever seen. I have never heard of any business requiring nothing but a certified letter. In addition they want 30 days but still charge the following month. These items were not communicated clearly upon initial membership. The facility rating in numerous review outlets is very consistent and it rates low. Unfortunately I should have paid more attention to this previously.

While this is the best deal in terms of price, you cannot cancel your membership unless you write a certified letter to the company. Then, they charge you for an additional month after you cancel. This is unnecessarily burdensome and clearly just a money grab on your way out the door.

You cant beat the price, so I can deal with it being a tad dirty. But for the most part, the staff is horrible. Never greet you when you enter or leave. Their heads dont even look up, as they all just stare at their phone the whole time. The latest girl was sitting in the office playing on her phone when I walked in. When I left, an hour & a half later, still there. Same spot, looking at her phone. Mind you, Ill work out at different hours. These are all different people doing the same thing. No greeting & on their phones. That place should ban cell phones because, even the young people that are there working out are on their phones constantly. Sickening to watch.

Everyone is so pleasant and helpful here. Great group fitness schedule! Always adding more and more classes with a good variety. Every class is tailored for all fitness levels.

You get what you pay for. It is a cheap, no frills, no etiquette gym. Combined my husband and I pay roughly $15 a month (including the annual fee), which is amazingly cheap and wont be found anywhere else. However, the people who go to this gym have no etiquette and the gym doesnt seem to have any rules concerning the matter. They talk on cell phones and gab loudly with friends, people drop weights and only about half the people wipe down equipment after using it. In the year and a half I have been going there I have seen an employee mop 1 time and dry swiffer machines 1 time. I have never seen them actually clean or the evidence that they do, the staff is very friendly though. But, it is cheap, so if you have higher expectations go pay more elsewhere.

My wifes car was broken into here a while back and no one ever reached out to us to make sure we were ok and everything was good. There was a camera hooked up and pointed at her car and come to find out it wasnt even working. I never had a bad experience here before and everyone was always so nice, but this turned me off to the place. How do you,as an owner, not have the decency to reach out to a customer of yours to at least say Hey Im sorry that happened to you. A little empathy would go a long way is all Im saying.

Your $10 per month is better spent at any other gym.At the end of the day, each contract has a special service fee of $80 once per year which if you amortize that over the course of the year is another $7 per month. Spend a few extra dollars, save yourself the EXTREME HASSLE OF CANCELLING YOUR MEMBERSHIP, and go to planet fitness or LA or Big Sky.Speaking of cancelling... the only way to do it is to type up a letter, go to a post office and send it as certified mail. The reason the gym does this is because it knows it will deter lazy members from going through this pain-in-the-ass and fee-based process to cancel. To me, that says the gym as a corporation has ZERO confidence that their facilities are good enough to keep people going and that theyre relying on a tough cancellation process to keep revenue coming in. As a business owner myself, thats just bad business practice.

Ive been going to this gym for years. I upgraded to gold when they started offering classes. The gym is kind of dirty, it needs to be cleaned more thoroughly. There is a very high turnover of staff. Some employees are friendly, but some just want to play on their phones. The classes used to be very good and varied but now it is almost all Zumba. The machines work fine, TVs could be a little more varied with the station selection. Sometimes four out of seven TVs are on ESPN. All in all, its very inexpensive and that is why I continue my membership.

Simple gym with free weights. Cant beat the price. It can get crowded at times, especially weightlifting equipment, but cardio most of the times I dont have issue finding an available machine. As with all other super negative reviews, got to take it with a grain of salt. Check it out yourself to get your own opinion

Not a bad gym Relatively not clean and the current staff does not greet anybody with the exception of one person on the current staff who does greet people but the current staff does not greet you as you are coming in the door couldnt care less if you were there.

This gym is disgusting. Staff is rude. Half the machines dont work. It smells gross right when you walk in. The tanning bed is so dirty and there was a giant spider in it the other day.. I dont know why Im still signed up here. Time to switch gyms. Would give it 0 stars if possible.

You get what you pay for; outdated and out of commission equipment, few amenities, and the same ages 80’s mix your dentist plays before ripping your teeth out. If you love hair bands and rock love anthems, go for it.

My fiancés car was broken into and the owner did not call to give his/her condolences, were no help because they have cameras that are hooked up but do not record. This has happened before to other cars and they have never notified anyone to watch thier belongings etc.... terrible experience but great staff. We left this gym because how can you work out if you dont have piece of mind that your car wont be broken into.

Not a nice gym. VERY VERY outdated equipment. Bad cancellation policy. Please do not join this gym, support local business that have better policies and modern equipment. They have not updated anything. I felt very disrespected by the behavior exhibited by the employees.

Terrible Gym, dirty, half the equipment doesnt work, when the morning person doesnt show up for work (twice in the last 2 weeks) or if a single snow flake falls then no one shows up all the people who get up early and get to the gym for 4:00 am have to sit in there cars hoping he will come in which he doesnt. Find staff that really cares about the place.

I was told that my membership was cancelled because my ex wife and here friend was on the account and that revolving payments were not met. Notification for customers is horrible. I was told I owed the gym 1500$ dollars which is unheard of from any gym memberships. Equipments are outdated and some are not even safe. Employees don’t bother to clean the facility . Bathrooms should be reported to osha for violation of health standards.

They Refuse to cancel membership after sending letter via certified mail. Manager Zach at the Cromwell location told me I will continue being billed and there’s nothing I can do about it.

In sore need of new carpeting, expect to wait for equipment as the younger people text and select their next song on their ipod or phone. They do not enforce common courtesy rules such as racking your weights, slamming dumbells on the floor, texting while sitting on the equipment, etc.Could be so much better. It seems the personnel turnover rate is high, and the ones there, with the exception of Mike, couldnt care less, nor are they trained to care less.

This is really the only gym in the area of Middletown/Cromwell that was close to me so I used it and also got a personal trainer which I still cannot believe I did considering the guy had some serious weight issues himself. The place is ok as far as machines go but the staff is ridiculous. I lost my job and moved back to California, that was when my trainer informed me that I was out of my contract because of distance/location, which is not the case. And recently I was totally scammed into paying money to someone that went straight to Wow in Cromwell as a monthly payment. And I have not lived in the area for a year.Do yourself a favor and find a gym that has a concern for your health and wellness and not your pocket.

Dont be fooled by the 10$ per month as they will charge you 30$ extra and incase if you have family membership you will be charged 30$ per person even if you cancel your gym membership (they will not tell you this, Its going to be hidden in your contract and cancellation is not easy as well, even if you die they will keep charging you).This place smells pretty bad and locker rooms are disgusting. Most of the treadmills are not working and good luck finding weights especially in evening hours. Do not expect any courtesy from staff or fellow gym members. Save yourself some money and find some other gym. I would give it very poor quality over all.

Place needs cleaning. air out building during the evening rush hour, it to hot and the air quality is bad during the 4-7 rush hour. Ventilation needs cleaning.
