My psychiatrist at CJBH is quite good otherwise I would have left the practice long ago. It is the most poorly run medical/psychiatric practice I have ever encountered. The two stars is only because of my psychiatrist.
I have gone here for years and was originally very happy until my doctor retired. I have now run into a situation where my new doctor is just completely unavailable. I was supposed to have my medication refilled weeks ago. He never sent it through. I called the office, my pharmacy called the office...all multiple times and NO reply. I was without my medication for a week before I finally got a hold of someone. This is unacceptable and I will be looking for a new doctor.
On 5/10/21 I called Central Jersey Behavioral Health, LLC’s office to obtain a first-time appointment for my 10 y/o who said that she wanted to cut her wrists and needed a medical clearance to go back to school. I was scheduled for a virtual meeting on 19th at 4:30pm and submitted all the requested intake documents. Early on the 19th I received a confirmation email stating that the meeting will be their office. I reached out to the office by phone left a message, sent a text and email to get clarification as if the appointment will be face- to- face on by phone. Due to the lack of the respond and the emergency of the situation I went to the Dr. Kahn’s office. I got there at 4:06, while in their parking lot I received a text message stating the meeting was confirmed by phone. I went home. At 4:35pm I called the office to find out why no body called. I was told that they will reach out to the Dr. Khan to find out the reason of the lateness. I got a text message saying Dr. Kahn is running late and she will be call me in 10 minutes. After a while Dr. Kahn called, she was clearly upset; she yells at me said that she cannot give me a clearance before this supposed to be a phone call and that she needed more documents. I was trying to explain to her that unfortunately the office mixed up that I was waiting for this appointment for almost 10 days, and my child needed this clearance to go back to school. She asked me some questions about my child. I explained some of the history. In a very upsetting tone and yells that I needed to take my daughter to ER. I told her due to COVID I do not feel comfortable taking her and if I needed a face-to-face meeting, I was willing to do that and submitted all the documents they required and that I was willing to provide her with all the documentation and history that she needs. She said that I was over power her and I asked not to raise her voice at me, and she hang up the phone. Dr. Kahn was beyond unprofessional, lacked empathy and unfit to deal with people in their most vulnerable state.Isabel G.
SO UNPROFESSIONAL DO NOT GO HERE!!!! It has been 9 months since I have been able to get in contact with Dr. Khan. During the pandemic, Dr. Khan randomly stopped prescribing my medication which I desperately need. Mind you, I have been taking this exact medication continuously for years now. No matter how many calls or emails you make this office will not answer you. They do not care about you they only care about money. Because of this office I endured awful side effects from randomly stopping my medication. No one picks up the phone at this office and the voicemail is always full. It is December and I have not seen Dr. Khan since before this March. I have been unable to get in touch with the office and had to go to my primary physician to get my medication prescribed and she told me that multiple people from central jersey behavioral health are experiencing the same thing. Awful communication. Central jersey behavioral health does not care about their patients.
I’ve been going there for 10+ years and everyone there...staff and doctors are wonderful.
I can’t say enough about the staff and doctors here, they’ve always responded in a timely manner and the doctors actually listen and really work with you.My quality of life is amazing both mentally and physically. Thanks you!!!
This doctor is very blunt and insensitive.
This office is very unprofessional! Dr Khan prescribe medication to my 16 year old daughter without the parents permission. My 25 year old daughter took her to an appointment because I was busy. Me, thinking i will get a call from the office asking permission to prescribe medication! it never happen. Dr Khan also increase the medication without supervision or follow up! I do hope this office learned from their mistake and change their policies. they dont care about their patients! the doctor is always too bust to spend time with her patients..
This place is a joke, i read the reviews and decided to give a try anyways worse mistake!! i had an appointment and could not no matter how many attempts i made i could not get a response from anyone. if i get charged for missing an appointment i will take legal action. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. I will be finding someone new RIGHT NOW
I have been going to Central Behavioral Health for the past 3 years. I think that the customer service and the value of people attending your health issues is declining tremendously!!!!! I feel totally disgusted as how I have been treated in that place! First of all, BEWARE PEOPLE!!!! God forbid if you have accidentally missed your appointment, you are automatically charged a $50 fee on top of your co-pay for your visit!!! NO EXCUSES!!!! WHERE IS THE HUMANITY IN THIS???????? Oh but it seems that they have forgotten once when I showed up, a therapist had to cancel my appointment at the last minute due to an emergency he had and I happened to know about this when I stepped in their office!!! Well today, I was surprised with my $50 fee when I had accidentally forgot a missed appointment and called them up quickly to reschedule. I had apologized and she said it was alright and fine, (NEVER!!!! mentioning she was going to charge me of that $50 fee). As I was paying for my co-pay today, another receptionist told me that it seems I had missed an appointment and she had the audacity to ask how I would like to pay for $50 fee. I told her I was never told about it and she stood quiet. So I had to end up paying for that! Mind you, they had charged me another time of $50 fee when I was unaware they were the ones who made the appointment without my acknowledgement! I am totally fed up with their service!!!!!! The therapists I have met, likes to talk to you but never resolves your problems or techniques. They look like they are the ones that need HELP!!!!!! Also, when I do see my psycharist, he is always rushing me out without properly talking to me. If I have to mention something, he will cut me off without finishing my sentence!!! Then, I am off on my way out of his door, after a 3 minute conversation!!! WOW!!! I sure got some excellent service that was worth of my $100 penalty pay!
Here now and there are 11 other patients in the office waiting to be seen. The Drs here have always been nice and professional to me but I’ve been coming here for 3 years since the passing of a parent and this is my 4th doctor, a lot of turnover for them. It’s hard to connect with the new Drs after the numerous different docs I’ve had to discuss my issues with. My prescriptions aren’t as dire as other patients though, mine have always been filled on time. No major issues.
Worst communication from staff ever I seen in my life from any health provider. They dont care about anything! They only call for pending bills but never reply to your imp. urgent emails/texts requests. Completely fed up with these guys since last 6-7 months and looking for another provider now
In the beginning they seemed to be pretty much drug dealers. 20 minute psych evaluation and they give you whatever you ask for. After a couple of years I would say they are better than that. They seem to care and have been great with appointments throughout the pandemic.
Zero stars....Impossible to start here as a new patient. As directed by voice mail, I attempted to send in the paperwork as a first time patient. Couldnt send it as the email box was full. Called twice and left message. Never got a call back. Texted a number that was left on their voice mail, the person responded back with a new email address. I submitted the papers, still have never heard back..4 weeks ago. Good thing this wasnt an emergency....There is little compassion or professionalism here.
I have been going for two yrs almost and just recently Ive noticed lack of communication in response to call backs after promised feedback for my medications and numerous multiple times have they not fixed pre-otherization efforts that they are supposed to handle in the case you cant get your medicine because of a insurance situation. Dr Neegland I wish would handle his patients a little more closely to see that we dont miss out on our medication because of these benign glitches and computer errors. It is NOT the patients fault or responsibility to fix this. These visits that circle around our disorders are costly and unproductive to our enviorment and need to be examend PLEASE
I found my experience with Dr. Ruby Abraham and the staff at her office to be extremely unprofessional. First of all, it is impossible to get in touch with anyone at the office and messages for the doctor are never relayed on time. Staff are also rude and condescending when speaking over the phone. I was finally fed up with this office when I was forced to make countless phone calls to her office in a frantic effort to get a renewal prescription for a medication which had run out. Long story short, my father went without this medication for a month before she finally put the order through to the pharmacy. To summarize, Dr. Ruby and her staff are extremely irresponsible and I do not recommend their services to anyone.
The support staff and professional staff are terrific. I could not be happier.
The mental health providers at Central Jersey Behavioral Health are, in general, highly capable clinicians. Based on my experiences working with several therapists, it has become evident to me that providers are equipped with extensive years of clinical experience in their areas of expertise as well as post-graduate training beyond their doctorates. I appreciate that my therapist welcomes my active participation in the treatment process. His support and warm demeanor facilitates the formation of a safe working relationship to explore how the unhealthy styles of relating and negative automatic thoughts have contributed to my poor mental and physical health. I know I have to be committed to the process. I just appreciate the fact that my doc is walking along side as I grow in my journey toward wellness. There is a huge difference between CJBH and the growing number of private practices with MA level counselors who are 20 something and already seeing 30 clients a week. Central Jersey Behavioral Health is a hidden gem in Union County.
Place is an absolute mess. Constantly changing appointments and overbooking, miscommunication (if you can even get in touch with someone), and just downright incompetent.
Incompetent staff. From the front desk to the doctors. Save yourself the headache and Don’t come here.
I saw Dr. McCullom for about a year and a half and he was excellent. I never felt rushed, and he always listened, and was prepared for my appointment. We were always on the same page with my meds. I never had a problem with the office staff.
This place really is the worst. Some well meaning people, but wildly incompetent and lacking any kind of urgency or customer care, especially considering the typical person that is in need of their services. As for the docs, theyll vary I suppose. Mine is fine enough, but suffers from the same bizarre behavior as the office in general. Not totally sure if its incompetence, indifference, bitterness, or some combination.
My experience here was only with Dr. Kahn for a few months for ADHD and Anxiety treatment. The staff at the front were friendly and helpful.Havent had any problems there.Dr. Kahn on the other hand...She wasnt very cooperative, barely asked questions or seemed to car. about trying to help with anything.the vibe I got was that she just wanted to write your prescription then hurry to the next person. At times it felt almost too easy to choose what I want to be on, and whatever dose.
The psychiatrists are good, not so hot on the therapists not so much. Primarily they listen, but they do no therapy otherwise-they do not intelligently challenge wrong patterns of thinking. Dr. Hong, the MD is exceptional, thorough and is truly concerned with the patients health.
If I could have selected zero stars I would have. This provider is the epitome of poor customer service, lack of communication, lack of professionalism and failure to meet customer needs. Getting anyone to answer a phone at this facility is like waiting for a lunar eclipse. The intake process is broken and can take 5-7 weeks. Once an application is submitted, it can take an addition month to be seen. When we eventually got an appointment approximately 2+ months later, Dr. Khan left early for the day and we were not notified until we came for our pre-scheduled appointment (on-time). No explanation or accommodation was provided. My child was in need of medication and this was the sole purpose of this urgent visit. After Dr. Khans no show at our appointment, Dr. Khan refused our numerous requests for an explanation via phone calls, voicemails and office texts (which they primary use for communication). Our child was in desperate need of medication and this was completely unacceptable.Trying to reschedule an appointment is impossible due to the fact that they do not answer phones or respond to email in a timely manner. Even using the office text process (which they obviously prefer) does not work since they do not always respond timely when you need to reschedule.Dr. Khan then decided to refuse to see our child after (1) first cancelling our initial appointment (that we waited over 2 months for) and after (2) we contacted them to reschedule an appointment due to an emergency (that was communicated timely but their office did not respond to in a timely manner).I have gone to the office and I personally requested to speak with Dr. Khan for an explanation. I have texted (as per their request) and emailed. Not only does Dr. Khan refuse to respond, she left the office as I was speaking with another doctor (Dr. Thorpe) about how to get my child proper care. I have never encountered a health care provider with such unprofessional staff (Dr. Khan specifically) and unprofessional services.Dr. Thorpe was very professional but Dr. Khan may want to reconsider another profession altogether. Dr. Khans lack of communication and unprofessionalism can be catastrophic to someone in need of services and medication management.
You can complain to the owner: Dr. Vincent Lim. Their staff are unprofessional, rude, despicable. Every single time I have problems with this disgusting STAFF. The doctors are good but the STAFF are unprofessional and rude. Dont waste your time going there
They do not think twice about charging that fee no matter what. Ive paid more in fees than I have in copay. Schweiger was a decent doctor but the first woman that I saw I felt very judged by and asked for someone else. As for the therapy-I often felt like he needed to talk more than I did. Another doctor gave me the wrong dose of a highly controlled substance and -lets just say thank God they LEFT A MESSAGE ON MY VOICEMAIL. THATS SARCASTIC. He made a major mistake. I could have overdosed. If I were the doctor in this case and realized my mistake, I would have not stopped calling the patient until I got in touch with them so I was assured they were okay. And stupid me, I googled them because its time for me to go to therapy again and I realized after reading the reviews here that I still hadnt. Learned my lesson. So thank you to the other reviewers-you helped me remember how terrible this place can be.
I was very disappointed in my experience with Dr.mcallen, I only went to him because of my insurance changing. we had 3 sessions and he didnt listen to me and my needs. He acted like I was beneath him as a person.I told him what medications Ive taken over the past year. He cut my dose down by more than half and I suffererd for 3 months. I asked him for help and he did the complete opposite. And as a girl he made me feel very uncomfortable..
People are complaining about the $50 fee for missing an appointment, but it is a fair charge because your poor planning caused them to lose money. Its less than half the cost of the appointment (without insurance). The psychiatrists do seem to try to squeeze in as many appointments as possible, so you do get rushed out, hence you should prepare what you want to ask in advance. All in all they do their jobs.
Always overbooked. I am so fed up with having to wait. Appointments are also so long. Just a waste of my time.
Therapists are great especially Dr. Bascara and Roy Hirschfeld. Unfortun ately the reception desk leaves something to be desired. I dont think they have good supervision.
I can only speak for Dr. McCullom, but I have had excellent experiences.
The people so rude also they change my sat apt never again
If I could give this place zero stars I would, I got my daughter to come here and the therapist did not follow up at all and then goes on 7 week vacation back to India, her country, meanwhile I ask to speak with the owner of this place and he does not respond, this place is very disorganized and totally unprofessional, please do not waste ur time or money to go here, there are plenty of good caring therapist out there, this place is not one of them, I cant even believe they are in business
Dr. Neelung is unresponsive to your request or needs he exclusively pushes what is pharmaceutical representatives tell him to push at top dollar with no insurance $356 per month and they want to see you 10 days after your first appointment and every 30 days after that and they over charged for the deductible which should’ve been $50 and they overcharged me by 50%
What is going on with this office? I call the main number and it says disconnected? There is a woman called Toni she is really rude to patients.
Entire staff incompetent
Take to long to request I prescription
