I have to say I was not happy about not being able to call in or that I got there at 1 and had to wait til 2 for them to open and then wait in q huge line. And the kindergarten lines were freakin ridiculous!!! However once I was seen-and that went surprisingly fast-the lady that helped me in window number 3-didnt get her name but she was amazing!! She was fast and helpful and very nice! Give her a raise!!
I arrived three minutes before they opened and there were about six people in front of me. I was seen within five minutes. I licensed a trailer, got tags for a car and renewed my handicapped sticker. I was done ten minutes later. A total time of fifteen minutes - unheard of at a DMV. Kudos to the manager of the office the sweet young lady who waited on me and even the sheriff at the door who opened it for me on the way out. Thank you Newton County!!! Another reason I am happy to be a resident here!!!
This location NEVER answers the phone. The lady at Station 2 always has a funky attitude. But once you get here, youre out within a few minutes.
Tried doing it online, keep saying I don’t have insurance, but I have progressive, so it then trying to take more money from me, and hour later fees!
They are always super quick and very nice.

Tag renewal issues, advised to contact the office for information. No one answers the phone, or returns call from voicemail. Not good business in resolving simple issues. Otherwise, the customer service is usually good. Perhaps, they want visitors instead of online. Not convenient!
Very difficult to get an agent on the phone at 8am on a Monday morning. Not good considering this is a government office. Y’all should be up bright and early ready to assist.
People who have lived here their entire lives have no idea how badly they get scammed here! They charge $150 for a tag required to take off your own garbage (they dont have pick up service.) Where my parents live in this same state the service is FREE since after all that is why we pay taxes!!!

I had to turn in a license plate that was on my motorcycle which was traded in for a new one. The lady there was very professional and helpful. It was easy to do this and did not make it difficult at all. Kudos to the staff.
They dont answer the phone!!!!! No call backs. Ive left two messages already. Shamefully I had to call another county and they answered their phone quick. Not much help though to answer questions about Motor Vehicle info. This is sad to have poor customer service.
This rating is for Newton County tag offices gross lack of consideration regarding making the public aware of their hours.Its not on the website, or their front doors and not even in their voicemail message when you call. Its the day AFTER Christmas and we really dont know when theyll open back up.....Trifling.

I had an issue with getting my title from my Lien holder in Idaho to send my title to them when I moved to get it transferred to a GA title and this place gave me a year to get it. I dont know if its because of the new system change, but I didnt receive my tag via mail like I was told. Came to the location to pick up my tag and the wait was longer than any time I have been here in 5 years. I tried calling to get my question answered but they NEVER answer the phone!

Im sure their service is great but good luck getting someone on the phone.Update: After contacting Barbara Dingler, I received an email from a clerk and she made it painless and simple to get the information I required. Upgrading from 1 star to 4 because the phone situation still needs to be addressed.

I went to window #2 today 8/31/2020 around 1:00 and I got the rudest lady I have ever meet in my life for the second time now she won’t let you talk or get a word in to even understand what she is saying she act like I don’t deserve a tag for my car which I bout for my daughter who just had a baby twice this happened to me same lady any other time it was the absolute best tag place I ever been but now she has given then a very very bad name I didn’t deserve to be treated this way
Nice staff. My complaint is they won’t answer the phone, so when you try to do something with the motor vehicle registration ETC, they say you need extra paper work. (Etc)
I do tag and title runs for dealers and this location by far my favorite. I rarely seat down and they call my name. The woman are so nice. I wish I could remember there names because they deserve a shout out.
Always pretty smooth for me. I always call ahead to make sure I have EVERYTHING they need for motor vehicle tag stuff. If you dont, there is little they can do to help. they dont make the laws.
Came to register my car being that it was shipped from overseas (military), the clerk said the supervisor who normally handles my kind of paperwork wasnt available and kept telling me to come back on Monday. Then proceeded to give me a form to get my car inspected by an officer, I was under the impression that this county does not do inspections but maybe the rules changed (calling the sheriff number to inspect the car was no help either, when did this changed), then gave me a list of forms I would need for the inspection. But here is the kicker I told the lady that is what I had/needed to register the car she took the paper flip through it not looking at it or understanding it and gave it back saying she doesnt handle that paperwork and to come back on Monday when the supervisor is there. I had everything needed to get processed but I guess she was to lazy to actually put in some work that day.

Everyone is extremely rude. I was new to getting my tags had no idea what to do and they did little to nothing to help me. They simple told me no and I wasted my time sitting there.

Had to update my tag, very swift and fast to get me in and out. Was not even in there for 10 min and it was packed.
I looked up online thursday to see if they were going to be open on good friday it said open til 445 so i waited cause i had to work. then when i got there after work it was closed and about 30 ppl were there at the same time, we should not have to pay a late fee for this on monday if we do its a money grubbing ripoff of the ppl hope you honor america and not charge ppl for your glitch on the website
