James and Ronnie were very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and helpful. James educated me as to the proper use and care of my wood burning and gas fireplaces. They did a wonderful job diagnosing and fixing or educating me on the issues I was having. Ronnie did an excellent job cleaning and painting my fireplaces where needed. It was a pleasure to have them service my fireplaces.

Avoid! Had them clean and inspect my gas fireplace. Found that the pilot assembly needed to be replaced and had to order the part. So the tech said he would paint the box after he replaced the pilot. They wanted to charge me $425 to replace an $80 part. So I had someone else do it at a much lower cost. Then they wouldnt come out to paint my fireplace box because they didnt install the part even though I paid them for the service. Very poor way to run a business...get your money then they run. Dont use these guys!

A couple of years ago, I asked them to come out to fix our gas fireplace. Instead they charged me hundreds of dollars to clean it (which I didnt ask for - I can do that myself). I was angry about that and declined for them to come back with a part for another expensive visit.After seeing so many positive reviews, I felt that maybe that was just a one-off bad experience, so I decided to call them again and give them another chance to repair it in early December. They said they had to special-order the part, so they got back to me over a month later to set up the appointment. So I agreed to that delay. So today, THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT, the guy calls me and cancels the appointment because he doesnt like the review I gave him two years ago.He doesnt seem to understand that reviews are how customers hold businesses accountable.

We recently sold an property in Omaha with a non-functioning woodburning fireplace. The the inspection report from the buyer required us to have the fireplace converted to gas, and it had to be done pretty quickly before closing. Not only did Ron at River City turn everything around and get a great looking gas fireplace installed very quickly, he also worked with the buyer to ensure they were getting to style of product they wanted for the house to fit the period of architecture. He even saved the old glass door and stored it for the buyer until it was finished. Great group of people at River City Chimney & Hearth. I hired this company for $300 to clean my chimney and to examine the inside of the fireplace/ chimney to ensure it operates safely Per a home inspection report. The home inspection report already detailed the masonry work required on the outside of the chimney and my buyers did not ask me to do any of that work. So I told the company this and asked that they not to do anything on the outside of the chimney. Instead they did an 82 point inspection inside and out and then provided a bid that included Thousands of dollars of interior work plus additional thousands in exterior work throwing a huge unexpected wrench into a real estate transaction. My realtor was shocked.When I made demands that they provide a revised inspection report In line what they were hired to do they refused citing standards of the National Fire Protection Association. (NFPA) as if it were law. This organization is a citizen run organization and it is not the law. Instead Of simply providing a revised report that only cited the items on the interior of the chimney that needed to be fixed, I was met with accusations of requesting unethical things from them. I was then contacted by their attorney who has accused me of bullying behavior for making these demands and standing up for myself as a consumer I was trying to give them the opportunity not to have me to post this review. What really happened here was a company that knew that there was a real estate transaction and this is where they make the most money.

I got my chimney cleaned last October. I have yet to hear back from them about a quote on an insert. I also tried calling 3-4 times about having someone come out to fix the chimney cap and no one ever got back to me.Disappointed in the lack of communication and wish I knew what it would cost to put a fire place in. I already had someone else do the cap because no response.

River city came to sweep and camera my chimney. They were on time and I received a text reminder and call before they came to my house. They worked quickly and were very clean. They used a large shop vac while performing the sweep to keep the shoot out of our house. They explained everything I needed to know very simply and provided an electronic report with pictures and details of their findings. Very knowledgeable guys and also very professional. Would recommend their service!

This is the 2nd time weve hired River City, and, like last time, I am very pleased with the service we received. They were on time, professional, and friendly. I appreciated how they took care to protect our flooring and hearth while working on our fireplace. I also appreciated how they gave some tips on how to operate it. Finally, they provided a comprehensive inspection and service report for my records. Excellent company.

Use someone else. These guys charged $300 for a 20 minute inspection and didn’t even open up the unit to clean it. Then wanted to charge $450 to replace a $70 part that others said was fine, and $550 to replace a $250 vent cap that took 2 minutes to replace. Would have liked to recommend and use someone local, but these guys will rip you off. We recommend Fireplace Stone & Patio of Nebraska.

Great service. Dustin was running late but called before the appointment time to let me know and make sure it would be ok to be 30 minutes late. He got there and was done in about an hour. Since this is a new to ya house as if a year ago we had no idea how to operate the fireplace and he showed us how!

Recently bought a home and out of all the nightmare issues we have found so far the fireplace not working was another unnecessary annoyance. It had not been lit in 8 years and could not get it to light.Dealing with these folks though from the start has helped ease that significantly. Their professionalism and prompt service was really welcomed as I have been dealing with a lot of contractors as of late that offer neither.After a cleaning and inspection not only did my fireplace light but they also answered any and all questions I had. I have never had a gas fireplace before so it was nice to get some instruction on it. Sadly the safety inspection came back with a not so clean bill of health but they told me what could and needed to be done in order to have my fireplace working safely. Once I get savings back up will definitely be returning to them to make those repairs.

So we wanted piece of mind knowing that our home is completely safe and how to use the fireplace.I checked with the BBB, Facebook posts and their awesome website. Their website is a must to check out!! They have multiple videos for the work that they do on which type of fireplace you have. Ron walks you through what they do and how it benefits your family and your home.We had James Yoshida over as the technician. We have two boys (4 & 2) that were also home and very interested in who he was and what he was doing. James laid down blankets to protect our floor from any mess.He took things apart and serviced the fireplace. Vacuumed the logs, replaced the embers, cleaned the glass and painted the inside to look new. He made sure before he painted that no one was allergic to paint fumes. Which I thought was a great question to ask as you never know.My children were all up in his business asking questions and James had the patience to answer them. (They has good questions) James even blew up a glove for the kiddos to share.It was refreshing to invite a stranger into your home and have them leave as a friend would. I highly recommend the company.I also wanted to mention Ron as each time I called, he took the time to answer my questions. At first when I told him I was gathering quotes, I hung up from him thinking that was nice to not feel pressured to have to set up an appointment right away or make a split decision. I called back after the service was performed to gather more clarification and Ron nailed my questions.Finally, we have a digital copy of the service performed along with photos of before, during and after. They showed exactly when they said they would. The guys that did the inspection and cleaning were very knowledgeable and shred any information they could. They did a great job cleaning and left absolutely no mess from cleaning a very dirty chimney. Our experience was very good with the exception of the scheduled time for their visit to our home. We were under the impression the visit was to be later in the evening. When we were text the verification time we were scheduled for 3:00 - 4:00. After a visit on the phone we kept the 3:00 time but then we were called by the service men saying they could be to our home at a little after the noon hour. We made it all work but it was a little frustrating. The work was done VERY WELL! We do appreciate their services and will use them again. The cost was less than we thought it would be. A plus! I asked Ron, the owner of River City Chimney and Hearth, to repair my fireplace earlier this year. The fireplace was 17 + years old; the fireplace company had been sold and resold multiple times. I didnt think there was any possibility that the pieces needed would ever be found. Ron went on line and tracked the pieces through multiple, multiple sales. He found the right manufacturer and ordered the pieces. When an essential piece arrived broken, he added going directly to the factory to get the proper piece to his vacation itinerary. The work Ron and his crew did for me was beyond excellent! My fireplace is now in pristine shape. I am very satisfied with the work that they did and I recommend them highly.

The folks from River City Chimney were outstanding. I called them simply by looking online, and, as you might imagine, that can sometimes go wrong. But, not this time. From the very moment my conversation with R C C&H started, I knew I had made the right call. Ron and his associate came out and examined all three of our fireplaces and chimneys. He took the time to look at all of them closely and then to clean them. He explained in detail the differences between the different types of chimneys I have and how I should maintain all of them. Ron even took the time to test some of the wood I was chopping and explain moisture content and so on.Ultimately, we decided to get a new gas insert for one of the fireplaces in the house. Ron took his time to decide which type of unit would be best and gave us an honest estimate that included all installation and material costs. It wasnt cheap, but I felt confident that Ron was dealing with me in an honest way because he provided me with information to check out the company online. His price for the unit came in cheaper than what it would have been if I had ordered it myself. And, he installed it.The installation was on time and done with a great deal of professionalism. My children were at home with my sister-in-law when he installed it since I couldnt be there. Ron took the time to show my children how to use it and explain the safety features. His directions were so clear that my son could explain it to me later. Now, thats great service.Ron followed up with me later to make sure all was working fine and that I liked the way it looked. I deeply appreciate this type of service and will continue to call R C C&H whenever I need anything related to fireplaces and chimney cleaning. You cant go wrong with them.
