The classes are fun and easy to walk into anytime! Great atmosphere too. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. If you are not sure try out there class for free!

Staff is friendly and helpful. Gym has always been relatively empty when Im there. Always clean, staff makes cleaning rounds often. Beds and massage chairs seem to be mostly unoccupied, or a very short wait.

Ive only been there a couple times but theyre standup tanning booths are very nice and big and theyre aqua chairs give a great massage, seems very clean..

Been using the gym since it opened and being brand new it a nice facility. The staff has been great and accommodating especially as they go through some opening/growing pains. IT is still new but there have been no wait times for any machine or cardio.CardioThere are a ton of cardio machines in the facility. These include stair steppers, treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, a couple of row machines and more than likely a few others Im missing. I would think its going to be pretty tough to not be able to find a machine to use.Locker RoomsLocker rooms are nice and spacious with showers and separate stalls specifically for getting dressed/ready.Weight MachinesAs far as weights go, the machines are the main draw here. I believe that Ive seen 2 of most of the machines they have. They have all of the main ones that you would find in most gyms.There are also 3 different multi-jungles or cable training machines. These have options for low row and cable pulls as well as many different attachments to hit all muscle groups. These are spaced in a way to get 2 cable crossovers as well.There is one cable crossover machine in the back stretching and abs room that is available.Free WeightsThere are at least 2 sets of every weight of dumbbells ranging from I believe 5lbs up to 75lbs. They do max out at 75 lbs. There are 4 Smith Machines all with adjustable benches. There are no free bars for adding plates to, outside of the Smith Machines which will limit your options. There are curl bars with set weight limits from 10 or 20lbs to 60lbs.PF 30 Min ExpressThere is a yellow machine room that is used for their express circuit. Its a full body workout in 30 minutes running on a red/green light system. All the exercises are posted so they can be done at anytime and followed by anyone.Abs & StretchingThere is a zone set up for Abs and Stretching with mats and numerous weighted balls for abs. In this zone is also a number of machines to target abs and assist in stretching. There is also a Synergy 360 system that allows for a number of different training exercises (this is where the cable crossover is mentioned above). This includes ropes, kettle bells, bars etc. There are also a few stations setup with the TRX Suspension Training system as well as workouts shown on the floor to get you going on using them.Black Card SpaThere are 6 tanning beds (2 standing, 4 lay down) as well as 3 hydro massage chairs. There is also the total body machine (I have yet to use). The hydro massage chairs do a decent enough job losing you up after a workout, and the tanning beds are pretty nice.Overall a great facility and can see it getting some pretty good use. I removed one star from my rating just for the lack of additional free weight bars to customize weights for certain exercises and the limit of the free weights (this is pretty standard for PFs across the nation however). Its worth the money and glad to be a member.

Had some payment issues at the start of covid which caused me to close my account but I’ve since renewed. It’s the best price for a gym membership out there. Very solid place to get in a workout, very clean open gym and the staff has always been polite.

One of the biggest concerns that I had when joining a gym during a pandemic was cleanliness. All of the equipment and facilities are clean- the staff make sure of it. Only every 3rd machine is open, which creates alot of space between gym members. And in the same token, Ive never had an issue where the gym is full at the reduced capacity. I really enjoy the black card perks such as red light therapy, tanning, and the hydromassge. It really gives me motivation to get to the gym, its like an added bonus 😀

A fair, reasonable price a plan but lacks in some areas. One of which is floor space for stretching or floor work.

Y’all need to get new massage chairs or have maintenance on the ones that y’all because they are becoming weak!This is my home location and it’s one of the best...it’s always clean and put together.Also unlike many others PF I have been to the majority of equipment works and is not under maintenance which is nice cause the gym gets packed sometimes.The staff are also pretty nice they usually always great you when you come in and say goodbye as your leaving!

I throughly enjoy my time there- they have taken COVID safety measures very seriously, while still allowing for a nice time and good space to use for working out.

With COVID floating around, it’s no surprise that the gym isn’t packed. Right now is the time to go or start a membership if you don’t like waiting for people to finish using equipment. Staff can always be seen dusting and sanitizing. Would recommend that the business incorporate a few stand alone squat and bench stations vice the smith machines. Overall, good gym to be at.

Planet fitness is a nice place to work out with tons of equipment this one is very bussy on monday mornings so come in the afternoon or late evening for the best experience also you have to try the water massage machine its amazing

I tried to cancel my membership multiple times by phone and by mail per company policy. I sent a letter and they let it sit in there office for months before I finally had to call once they re-opened. They didnt cancel to keep getting the monthly subscription. Simple to sign up, fair price. With the black card you are able to use the app or call to sign up for the training sessions. Quite the workout with a variety of excercises included in each session. Plenty of machines, very positive staff who have said bye every time I have left which is nice. Happy to help with questions, great at keeping the place clean, both the general floor and the locker room. Plenty of tvs on a variety of stations to watch. Music is upbeat with some variety so even if you dont bring your own you have something to work out to. The 30 minute workout station is just as stated, pretty decent workout with multiple stations with 1 min on 1 min rest. Only been going for 2 weeks but very happy I joined.

My husband and I both signed up at Planet fitness the end of May. We signed up for the Silver-Sneakers program with our insurance. Also signing up for the Black Card Room out of pocket.One day when I came in I was told my card wasn’t working correctly. She took my card and gave me a different one. She told me that she was the new manager. I asked her then if my card wasn’t working maybe she should check my husbands. She told me that his card was fine.After a couple of months I noticed that we weren’t being billed correctly so I called only to find out that they had no record of a membership for my husband. When we brought it to the attention of the new manager (Grace), she resigned my husband up for the Silver Sneakers program with his insurance Silver Sneakers number. Next day when we came in she said she needed to talk to us because his Silver Sneakers number was no good and that we needed to check with our insurance to verify it. I told her he had already called there to get the number so it was verified and I didn’t know what else we could do. Her attitude was like we were trying to pull something dishonest. Then I said if we weren’t locked In for a year I would cancel membership. She said you can cancel you aren’t locked in. BEST NEWS WE COULD HEAR Our memberships at Planet fitness have been nothing but a problem so we cancelled our accounts and left.

Clean, and well lit. No creepy corners here. I have a hard time sometimes using black card features as desk staff goes on hiatus for extended times leaving us to wait. When I get back there, the spa is always clean. Worth the black card. Otherwise 5 star experience.

Still a member and in general I really like this facility, but my locked locker was broken into and my wallet stolen. They cut the lock. Be very careful. The staff will not intervene and honestly essentially worthless. There are three Gyms in Cottage Grove and this is the only one to get Police calls. This is a problem. Thanks to CG Police they did take it seriously.

They have very nice treadmills.

Its a great set-up! It has been pretty busy a number of times that Ive gone, but theres always a machine that I can get on. The circuit room is a great way to get comfortable with more of the weight machines and I love that theyve added classes. The staff Ive talked to have all been pretty helpful and very friendly.

I love that there are so many machines that it doesnt matter how busy it is, there is always an open spot to jump in and get your sweat on! Friendly, clean, and motivating atmosphere. Unless you fancy yourself an Olympic body builder this is a great place to get fit and strong.

I really enjoy going to Planet Fitness. I haven’t been a member of a gym in about 9 years. It’s very clean, staff is friendly and you can always get on the equipment you want right away. I really love working out here. Its big, so theres always equipment available, and I feel that I can get a good workout no matter what. There are lots of tvs around, for those inclined to watch, with ports on the equipment to plug in a headset. (I do wish the volume could be turned lower, because even at the lowest setting its too high for me.) The equipment is nice, and does the job. I hope that eventually they will get more ab exercisers, because those are almost always in use, and with people waiting. I pay for the upgraded plan, and its great to take my granddaughter with me, and encourage her to live a healthy lifestyle. The cherry on top for me, when its available (sometimes theres a number of others waiting, so I dont even try) is the hydromassage! Oh my, what a wonderful thing that is! My back isnt sore at all since I started using it, and my legs feel a lot better too. Its not even bad to work out and push yourself, knowing that you get that reward after! I should mention the staff are all friendly and very helpful too! I will be a long term member for sure!

I have only been coming since mid January. I signed up before they opened Overall the place is nice I wish the staff was a little more helpful. The day I came in they gave no overview of the facility. Just took my picture, gave me my barcode and sent me on my way. When I had questions he seemed slightly annoyed. Of course the the process and the closeness to my home it wont keep me from not going.

I love this place! Great equipment great atmosphere. My first time there the man working was rude. He asked for my number, handed me my black card, and then walked away. No tour, no small talk, no explaining the spa area. (Mind you it wad 2 am and no one else was there) It was a horrible first impression, but I shrugged it off and moved on.

Went in to cancel and we were told the account wouldnt be charged. Called back to confirm cancellation and were told we would be charged for another month. Manager was VERY rude. The billing in this place is a scam. Canceled in enough time for them to stop an automatic payment. Its just a matter of changing it in the system, but they make sure they arent going to do that so they can get the most money out of you.

Love the cleanliness and location. However, women working in the morning are extremely rude. I think there is one who is kind, otherwise no.

The morning manager is very disrespectful and rude.Following is the issue we had at the Cottage Grove Mn location.We went into tan. When we got to the rooms the light switch wasnt working. We were not told before going back. When my boyfriend asked about it she said there was a power outage. So I went out to the desk to ask for another room for him and she said that she was on the phone with excel energy that there was nothing she could do. So I asked if she could turn his bed on for the full time being that it was a 12 min bed and he only asked for 8 mins to start. This would give him 4 mins with some light in the room to change and apply tanning lotion. She repeated she was on the phone and there was nothing else she could do. So I missed some of my tan time and my boyfriend changed in the dark until his bed came on then missed some of his eight mins. Im still confused if only the light are out in the tanning rooms why its an excel energy issue when all the other lights worked and the beds worked.My own opinion is a fuse or breaker was out and the manager didnt know what to do. I did asked to speak with the manager and the rude woman informed me she was the manager.🤬

I go 3-4 times a week and have always been able to get right in on the equipment - they’re busy, but not “maxed out”. Always clean and well staffed, and I’m glad I upgraded to the Black Card to gain access to the hydro massage units.

I love Planet Fitness in general. Not sure what it is but I feel I can easily discipline myself here, which is something I nevercould at Anytime Fitness. The only complaints I have is the staff/customer service. The location I used to use when I lived in Indiana a few years ago the staff was really interactive and very attentive at the counter. They were professional, as well i.e. not on their phones, sitting on back counter, etc. I don’t feel like the staff are very friendly when I ask to use the spa facilities. 9 times out of 10 they’re either sitting on the back counter or on their phones. I came in one night and the girl working was wearing her coat and playing on her cell phone. The only reason I knew she worked there was because she greeted me, but I still had to ask if she worked there. Another night I came in and the guy was talking on his cell phone from the timeI checked in til the time I left and was on speaker phone. Nobody checks to make sure you have your tanning goggles or if you’re a Black Card and are even supposed to use the spa facilities. Obviously I still go because of the discipline I get when working out, but I’m very disappointed in the staff.

My husband and I joined in January after being members of Lifetime Fitness for years. This location and membership fees were ideal for us so we decided to give them a shot. We both got the Black Card Membership which is $21 plus tax. Staff can be friendly and others may ignore you. It depends on who is working. You scan your own card while staff is sitting behind the counter. I found that . . . different. My thoughts was that anyone can use your card and walk by. The facility is clean, lockers and showers are clean (youll need to bring your own locks), smaller facility than what were used to (but doable), awesome tvs to stare at while on the machines, and the machines are nice and new. Only downside we have is the place not having a pool (we knew this before joining - not complaining), they dont have group fitness classes either (ex: HIIT, Zumba, PUMP IT etc.), and they their floor area to workout isnt very big when its busy so it gets crowded. They do however offer some group training but more for strength. But for the price of the membership, we understood why. My husband and I also observed that while being black card members and checking in to use the massage chairs, tanning booths, etc (that is ONLY exclusive to black card members) that the staff doesnt check our (and others) membership status... or do they know this automatically? It looks like anyone with or without the black card membership can walk up and ask to use the equipment. Not sure how their procedure is on that. (Just an observation) If so, maybe we didnt need the black card after all.I would only recommend this place if youre looking to just work out on machines and weights and those who are on a budget.

This new planet fitness is a welcome facility in Cottage Grove. It is inviting, reasonable and kept clean!
