Went there cuz I needed an inspection before my warranty ran out. I called first and got an appointment very next day. Chris was on top of it the moment I walked in got me checked in send my car off with the one of the service guys he came back 35 minutes later with this report Chris proceeded to call the warranty company discuss with them whether or not the ball joints would be covered. They were of course but even managed to get the wheel alignment covered. I ask for and was given a loaner which was hassle free not only the process of getting it but the car itself. They had my vehicle done by that evening by 4:00 p.m. and I am not had a problem with it since. it was a nice surprise in the morning to get a message from them reminding me that I had an appointment in an hour. Wasnt expecting that but there it was a nice surprise. Now but Ive had worked on there Im not surprised that they do that courtesy call. I cant think of another repair shop and Ive been in that has felt more welcoming. I checked the box earlier professional instead of good quality and good service because being professional in that business encompasses good quality and good service and thats what these guys have professional all the way. I highly recommend them.

These guys went above and beyond after my Honda Civic got stolen. They consistently checked in with important updates and were so kind throughout the whole process. They fixed my ignition and offered to install a kill-switch so it couldn’t get stolen again, huge relief and inexpensive cost! They also fixed my windshield wipers because they got busted in the process of being stolen. They took care of everything I needed, I was so grateful so I brought them doughnuts as a thank you! With all the stress they helped out in every way they could, definitely recommend and will be going back for any future repairs.

Ive used another Honest-1 location to service my car. I moved across town and felt comfortable with the brand. I was hoping that all honest-1 locations shared the same system and it would be seamless to continue my service. Ya know, the benefits of a franchise?I found out that they are all independently owned and operated so there isnt a benefit to being loyal to the brand or reputation. It was a bummer to find out that they didnt share records. However, I actually had a better experience at this location.They provide a full inspection of the vehicle including photos and recommendations without prompting. I found out that services I paid for at the other Honest-1 location were likely not performed and would need to be paid for again (no way to confirm this). I felt that the work here is high quality, very organized, and the staff is very knowledgeable and professional.I would continue to go to this location again. The pricing was fair, and I felt that I was being advised on how to care for my car. What could have been a negative experience (not their fault) was a chance for them to shine and prove their value. I feel they did that.I am giving them 5 stars based on my experience with this location. They went above and beyond during my appointment. Although I do wish that all Honest-1 locations were connected, that seems to be a larger issue that would be unfair to reduce this locations rating for, but is a real grievance.

I brought my truck in because it was overheating. They replaced the thermostat and still no heat. They said it is possibly the heater core. $1500. After calling around I decided to let them do the work. They called me and said they found a broken switch and it was not the heater core. Thank you for being taking the time and not just assuming. They were all so kind. I will be going back

Pretty much the only place around, or left, that has a loaner car. Which is usually free as long as you return when asked, no food or drink, but not than anything DONT SMOKE in their loaner cars. But they do good work and are detailed in their examination, so when Im going to buy my new car theyll look it over very very well for around 50-70$ which could save you alot on a used car.

Chris is extremely professional and honest! I had my car towed there and Chris had it fixed the same day (brake pads, calipers, rotors, 2 new tires, & an oil change). Not to mention that when he was able to get one of the parts cheaper than he originally quoted me, he passed the savings on to me instead of just pocketing the difference (to which i’d never been the wiser). He’s a good & honest man and i will continue to bring my car to him for future repairs.

Honest-1 was great. Isaak did a thorough look over of my car to let me know what was wrong and the condition of the car as a whole. He gave me options of what to fix and made a tire recommendation. The fixes were done quickly, and there is a noticeable improvement in how my car drives. Its also much quieter, now that the exhaust is fixed. I appreciated the information that helped me determine what was worthwhile to fix on my car.

I used Honest-1 auto care for the first time. I’ll be going back all the time for my auto needs. They were friendly and helpful, I felt very comfortable there. I would recommend this place to everyone that needs auto care.

I brought it into them I gave them all the information that I had already had codes around what I had done to it I just needed them to go deeper and let me know if it was what it was worth it to go into a deeper and they just came up with the same thing I already told them and at the end they gave me half price but what good did that do it I already knew everything they told me so and then I went home and and worked on it and its a whole different code now because they said the transmission was out when it wasnt the third gear they said was out. So they said transmission was bad but thats not true.

I love the diagnostic set up they have with the detailed list of what they found issues with, including pictures. Quick too.

Ive used this shop three times now for regular maintenance like oil and filter change and a transmission fluid change (CVT!). So far Ive been very impressed by the quality, transparency, and honest, good faith work. The prices are also competitive in the Twin Cities area. The staff is very friendly and professional and its always a pleasure to see them when its time to drop by. Im planning on sticking them for the forseeable future and would definitely recommend them for someone looking for a steady mechanic shop.

Had my car at the dealership for a air bad recall fix and while there they recommended over $2000 in other repairs that were recommended (including the water pump that was just replaced 2 years and 15,000 miles ago). The car has 185,000 miles on it and isnt even worth that much! Brought it to Honest-1 to evaluate the dealers recommendations and they called me back an hour or so later to explain what they saw and didnt recommend any of the repairs. Ive used Honest-1 for several years on all of our cars and never been disappointed.

Our van broke down on the side of the highway and we had it towed to Honest 1. They ran diagnostics on it, found the problem and finished all the work within one day. We also were provided a loaner vehicle which helped out tremendously.

AMAZING! I took my Jeep in after hearing a whistling sound which had started after I had work done by a different shop. Honest One shared with me that air filter cover was not put on correctly by the other place and was now broke. They suggested I contact them-I did & the other place offered to come out to Honest One & fix it there, which is great...., but Honest One is the shop that dealt with them and me all day back & forth to ensure this was being done correctly even though they were not getting paid for anything! They had my car on their property and took ownership to ensure that this other place offering to come out & fix my car, was doing it correctly even though there was nothing in it for them- blown away! They backed me up when this other auto place was not being upfront and made sure this other place did their work correctly. I will never go anywhere else!

RUN do not walk away from this place. This place is down right fraudulent I would avoid this place at all costs. There are enough mechanics out there to not give these scam artists a dime. I found this place through the Costco Auto program discount and will never be going back for any amount of discount on their service. I actually did not pay them anything for their diagnostic. I can see why I didnt pay them anything too. They spit the line they just want people to be safe on the road checking their brakes for no cost. No they just want to replace entire break systems (that arent necessary) and tell you 1000 other things are wrong that arent really wrong. They quoted me 9712.86 dollars for everything wrong with the car...I took a 2007 Toyota Camry in with 122,000 miles. It has been well maintained the whole life of the car. Toyota engines do not fall apart at 122,000 miles when they are well maintained (almost any modern car does not unless it was abused). I was hearing a brake grinding noise in the rear is why I originally took the car in. I knew something needed to be fixed on the rear brakes. They proceeded to tell me I needed new pads, rotors, calipers on the entire rear brake system even though just one side was making noise. They flat out lied and said the caliper was completely ceased up. Ive had that happen to a previous car and that was definitely not the case I already knew. A family member who was hurt at the time who is a master mechanic said he doubted the shop checked the calipers. That is a more time consuming process to actually take the calipers off and check them properly.The shop then proceeded to tell us the head gaskets were leaking, needed a new timing chain, new tires, new brake fluid, alignment. The only part that had some bit of truth to that was the tires. I just took the car into Costco to get the tires rotated and they told me the tires are getting down there but doesnt need replacing immediately. They recommended replacing before the end of the year if the car is driven every day. Anyways I took the car to an HONEST (not like this place) independent mechanic and he didnt see any evidence of this. He replaced the rear brake pads and rotors. The pin around the pads/calipers (I cant remember the proper name) was slightly sticking and there was rust on the rotors is the only thing that was wrong with the car. Thank God for honest people my repair bill with parts was 260 dollars! NOT 9700.00! Avoid this place at all costs. You have all been warned.

They stand by their warranty even after the 3 years labor when parts are lifetime and i lost my paperwork! . they kept all records! so when i broke down out of state in hayward, wi, they worked with Darrels automotive in Hayward to get the part warrantied. i did not have to dig around to prove it. (and Darrels is great too, and honest one guys told me give them a shout).So here wanted to thanks Chris and team at Cottage grove, Honest-1 for going the extra mile, taking time to work with my out-of-town mechanic so as to get replaced and 100% covered for a master brake cylinder or something with 4 valves and complicated electronics. they did all the work with Darrels and got it done.WE have also used H-1in CG for years and have appreciated their records, loaner cars when available, professionalism, nice waiting area w wi-Fi, and great warranties.

Ive stopped in twice now and theyve been very helpful! The first time I had some more major repairs needed and they got my car running so quiet we couldnt hear the engine if the keys were in the ignition. The second they got my problem solved in less than 15 minutes. Would definitely recommend.

I know whenever I bring my car to Honest-1 that they will take care of whatever is wrong and only charge me for that. I know that the cost will be fair and not padded with extra charges. I would have no problem leaving my truck in there hands again. I wanted them to set the timing and it turns out my distributor was faulty. He cut my diagnostic estimate by 1/3 even though he did his part. I bought a distributor and installed it myself and was happily on my way .Just good honest people

Took my truck for overheating issue and also to check the fan clutch. Their outcome was needs a radiator and intake gaskets and the fan clutch was good.Drove my truck home and the next day I replaced the fan clutch and my overheating issue was gone. The old fan clutch had some bearings missing.I would not recommend this place.

These guys are Amazing! I needed a new battery asap and the dealer was not calling me back. One phone call to honest-1 and they got me in right away even though it was near closing time. Left car to replace faulty tire pressure sensor, oil change, check engine light, and stop my car from squeaking on start up. They filled my tires as a fix, changed my oil, didnt fix check engine light, and stopped the squeaking. So 50/100 was fixed

I didn’t believe it possible for a shop to mess up a simple tire change from summer to winter tires. Honest- 1 doubled their original estimate and had to keep the car an extra day. Understand this was on a 2007 Buick not a Tesla.

I’ve been in a handful of times and they’ve always been great. When needed, the loaner car is a cool thing too! Today, Chris was super helpful and even held a conversation with me while I waited. He seems like a straight shooter and I can respect that. I’ll be back.

My folks was driving and the car stalled n lost all power 1 block from the shop. I towed my folks dead car to the shop and dropped it off on Wednesday Morning. I didnt get a call back all day. So I drove pass the shop after work 7pm. The hood was prop open, workers was still inside the shop. I thought maybe they were working on it, so I drove off. Thursday went by, not a single called back on the status. I then drove by the shop after work again, at 11pm, Hood was prop open still, while shop was Closed already. (It rained Wednesday nights, engine bay was wet) I had to close my own hood thursday evening. I finally called the shop Friday morning to file a complaint and ask for status and was quoted $1800 for an alternator and battery replacement. I was told its gonna take 4hrs to replace the 2 parts because the make and model of the vehicle is very hard to work on. I declined their service, I wasnt gonna pay $1800 for a service that Part Store does it for FREE. So I ended up fixing the alternator myself under 30mins and saved myself $1800. While Oreilly recharged the battery for Free. I wouldve given the shop the business if the quote was reasonable, but after the BS quote they gave me. I knew I couldnt trust this shop. This shop lost my support. 👎

I love Honest 1, everyone is always so helpful and the service is fantastic. They have serviced my last two cars and I always know that my car is in safe hands. A couple of years ago my old Ford Focus had a light come on a day after service and when I called they looked at my car for free and took care if the problem at no charge. I love that they are environmentally responsible with their oil disposal as well and Im always happy to pay a little more for that.

I was sent a review request by Honest 1 a couple of weeks ago. I decided whenever I got my car back from the dealership I would write a fair review. A review not out of anger, but just my experience. Just to mention when I did complete the review that would have been posted directly to their website. Honest 1 took it down and called asking to talk to me about the review. The fact that now I am aware that all of their reviews are either fake or filtered lets me understand the type of business this is. On June 1st or 2nd I brought my car to the muffler shop down the road from Honest 1. The mechanic informed me he was unwilling to fix the rear suspension on my Chrysler 300c. He stated I had two bad camber links on each side of my rear suspension. He said, the problem is the bolt connected to each link was so close to the frame he would have to drop the suspension to repair them. He apologized for not being able to make the repair because it was to time consuming for him. I immediately took my car over to Honest 1 to see, if they could repair it. I asked could they give me a ball park figure on how much it would cost. The guy working the desk told me around $500.00. He wanted to do an inspection on it first. I left my car with Honest 1. The next morning the attendant called me and told me in order to fix the camber link it would cost $1,900. I was reluctant to pay that much, but I needed my car fixed. He stated also the rear axle needed to be dropped in order to fix it and its going to take 5 days to get the parts in. About a little over a week goes by. Im noticing my vehicle hasnt moved from the same spot that I left it. I go in and ask the attendant for an update on my vehicle. He looked surprised to see me. He then says the part hasnt come in. I am going to call and track it. Hes says as soon as it gets here I will start on your car. I leave the shop the attendant was not on the phone when I left. I get into the car Im driving. Drive to the exit of the parking lot and the attendant calls me to tell me he tracked the part and it was on the truck. There is no way he made that call and tracked those parts in two minutes. Fast forward a day later. Honest 1 called me and told me they have good news and bad news. The good news is I dont owe them any money. The bad news is the parts they received was the wrong part. The parts I need is recalled and on back order for 6 months. So there is no way to fix my vehicle. The attendant then calls back and says he can put a aftermarket part on my car and it would be cheaper. The price then will be $1,700 instead of the $1,900. I called the dealership in Roseville the next day. I gave them my VIN # and asked it they stocked the parts for my car. They replied yes, we have them in stock. I asked for the price of the parts and labor. The dealership said, the parts were about $167.00 a piece and $200.00 a side to replace. I made an appointment right then, because my car seem to be an after thought. I went to Honest 1 to pick-up my car. I told the guy the dealership has the parts to my car and they arent discontinued. The attendant wanted to call the dealership himself to verify my claim. The dealership basically told the attendant they have the parts to my vehicle and nothing that they know of is discontinued. They asked what were they charging. I told them and they scoffed at the idea the dealership would not fix it for the price noted. Honest 1 also charged me $115.00 inspection fee. I dropped my car off at the dealership. They called me and and said, your camber links are fine. The links that are bad are the tension links. They said, they didnt have them on hand. It would take three days to get them. A week later my car was fixed. The repair cost was $1,057.00. The dealership is notorious for their pricing. For the work to be half of what DisHonest 1 charged is insane. DisHonest 1 has some ethical problems. I could never bring myself to using them again. Im sharing my story in case you decide to use them. This is what you could possibly be in for.

I’ve only been to two automotive shops before. Normally I repair my own vehicles to the best of my ability. But I cannot do the magic of tire mounting, balancing and alignments. The first shop chain (big O’ useless) I used would take legit over 6 hours to mount 4 tires alignment and balance. But these nice guys can set up an appointment online with only 2 days advance. And complete the job in under one and a half hours. And they also have email and text updates! They sent me a picture of my car with the hood up saying “your repair has been complete” which is kinda odd cuz I only put on tires but was fast and efficient.

Great auto repair shop! Inside was clean and and bright. Childrens play area with toys and a TV with DVD. Complimentary coffee K-cups,hot cocoa, cappuccino and water. Also small cracker snacks. Had my brakes done on my older mini-van. Matthew was the technician took me back in the shop and showed me my rotors and how wore they were. Matthew also took the brake pads off and showed me how wore they were next to a new one. Matthew made sure I was aware of all I needed and explained why. I felt like I gained a lot of knowledge from him. They had my front pads and rotors done in very timely manner. I was even offered a free loaner car if I wanted or needed to use it. Very comfortable with the work and my total bill.

We were going to see a concert and didnt have much extra time, the guys inside quickly helped us fix the immediate problem and offered further help if we werent covered by a warranty. Great team of mechanics! Brought my SUV in for a brake problem. They were proactive and pulled the vehicle report and advised me that there were 5 recalls on my SUV. They not only troubleshot and fixed the issue I brought the SUV in for, they also did a complete check up to make sure we were ready for our 17 hour trip at no extra cost. They cared about my and my familys safety. When it comes to mechanics, Honest-1 Auto Care blew all my previous mechanic experience out of the water, by far the best mechanic experience experience I have ever had and can now say without a doubt that there are HONEST mechanics out there.

Ok so I went to Honest 1 because I had my truck at another shop for a suspension inspection and I was told I needed rear shocks . I had shocks installed and still had an issue . Honest 1 told me my New shocks were wer and on upside.down and then put some grease in my left front ball joint . Only upon my asking did they tell me my front shocks were pretty worn and the originals and that they should be replaced soon.I pd $47 for less than 10 minutes .I trusted that they actually inspected my suspension thoroughly since that is what I pd for .Well NOPE !!!! .After contacting the original shop they told me that my gas shocks could be installed upside right or upside down which was also incorrect. so I went to a third shop and paid for a 3rd time for a thorough suspension inspection.Upon my third inspection I was told yes my shocks were installed upside down but they werent shot they were perfectly fine so they were installed correctly at the third shop.Then they did an actual thorough suspension inspection and I have worn out tie rod ends and need to replace both ball joints and yes I need new front shocks. they even showed me where are my tire on the front passenger side is leaning when I turn the wheel.so I dont know what I paid for because I literally could have crawled under my truck and known what they told me and I paid for a full suspenssion inspection and not to mention I was very clear that I needed to pull a cargo trailer with this truck and they still didnt do any more then look at the two issues that I had said I was concerned about when I originally made the appointment why did I pay for a full suspension inspection and and them only look at the shocks and the ball joint rather than actually doing a full inspection on my truck.I would have given them a 4* because the guy was kinda rude when I first got there and wanted me.to name the first shop I took my truck to and I told him I do not trash talk . I can leave a review just like I am doing now when I am unhappy with my service .But after having to have a 3rd inspectionand being told I needed to replace several items that Honest 1 didnt inspect, I am very dissatisfied with them .

It is scary to bring your car in for repairs when you are not knowledgeable of car mechanics. There is a lot of trust that must be given. I am happy to say that I was treated well by Honest 1. I feel confident when I leave my car there that I will be consulted and informed before repairs are made. I will know what repairs are needed, why and, most importantly. how much it will cost for the repairs. It is still scary, but at least I can trust them that the car problem will be a necessary repair not a drummed up one to make the shop money. Isnt that what we all want to know....that we can trust the mechanic?

Great place. Ive taken 2 older vehicles to this shop. 1 vehicle for my business and my personal weekend warrior truck. Always have done a great job. Whenever I need a repair in the future this is my shop.

Erick was wonderful to work with... Just brought my car in today expecting to replace all the brake pads and rotors. Much to my surprise they still had some life left in them, the inspection was free and I wasnt charged a dime. They earned my respect and when they do need replacement will get my business as well. Thank you, job well done!!!
