Great haircut, great conversation, great shop! Phil is very attentive. He even pointed out some flaws from my last haircut (not his) that were causing some hairs to stick up and not lay properly.

Trust me, do not go here. Dont waste your time. The haircut was very cheap, if you want a fade or taper dont go here and everything else was horrible, bad customer service, high prices, and the shop was a mess, Phil says hes very very very busy, but when I walked in he was standing there watching TV, hes the only barber in the shop

Quick, but not too quick. Easy to talk to and Phils a great conversationalist. Price is spot on and love the fact that you dont need an appointment. This is my new Davis Barber Shop replacement. Totally love the decor, regardless if their old Playboys.. (I only read the articles..)If you de rate him because of the magazines, its your loss..

Phils exactly the real deal friendly former-Marine barber you want behind the chair. Attentive cut, great casual conversation with the guys in the shop, and an excellent magazine selection all for under $20. The barbershop is one of mans last refuges and this place is no exception.

Walked in and asked for a shape up, he was on the phone and said he didnt have a razor. Are u serious? He seen a black male walk in and didnt want to do it. It was written all over his face. Wouldnt reccomend nobody go here. What kind of barber shop cant give you a shape up? A Racist one. And it wasnt one customer in the shop. If you cant do a shape up then you shouldnt be a barber or have a barber shop, period!!!

This dude is racist. I called ahead asking if he was open for a walk-in in 5 minutes. He said sure come on by. 5 min later I walk in, its dead empty, and hes standing there, looks at me, Im brown, and he says cant take you Im booked up. I said, I just called in, he stuttered uh well look Im booked up, you shoulda told me....Never thought this kind of mentality would be going on in southern California these days.To the owner, if you dont like serving non-whites, put a sign up, and have the courage to stand up for your racist ideals so I dont have to waste the time driving over.

Phil is one of the few good old mens barbers left. Please support this Vietnam Marine Veteran, an amputee who stays on his feet, whom will give you a good old home feel from yesteryear. His NY accent is a hoot and he speaks from his heart and his gut. No beating around the bush here. Walked in, no greeting, just an elderly barber yelling son I cant take you Im booked for the day keep in mind I am a female. I survey the room, its about 1:45 and two customers are there and the shop closes at 4pm.

Im a queer Asian guy and when I asked for a haircut, I was told that he doesnt do womens haircuts, sweetie. I felt too judged to do anything but go somewhere else. This would not be a friendly spot if youre queer or androgynous :(
