Staff is A+. They have been friendly, kind, and quite helpful. There is a wide variety of equipment and classes. The pool times are a little choppy, but I guess that is what happens when you are trying to fit in all of the water activities at different times of the day. The only reason I am not rating it 5 stars is because of the equipment condition and cleanliness. Some of it is in disrepair and when you really start to look at it you can see it has not had a proper deep cleaning in quite a while. The window sills are not cleaned either. Someone spilled a protein shake a couple of weeks ago and the spill is still there. :(
Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice, clean building.
I enjoy working at the YMCA gym great place to work for.
I love this place. Kailea is the best sports director in the world!
I don’t feel comfortable and they hate kids unless your a toddler or smaller.
The staff are helpful, and friendly. The premises are clean, and well kept, the gym equipment is modern, and a variety of classes offered. They even offer childcare!!
Nice closed off workout rooms, two basketball courts normally empty between 10am and 2pm, which gives you the gym all to yourself, swimming pool I never used, but I can swim, football field to run and do sprints, once you get to know the staff its a pretty good place to get in a good workout...
Nice place 👌
Everyone, all ages and genders... Must enter and exit the pool through the public locker rooms only. So here I am with my two children trying to work our way through a crowded locker room. There are naked people, that are going from showers to toilets etc. I find this highly unacceptable, and yet the pool director says they are not going to do anything about it. Note* there are two other door that lead directly into the pool without having to go through the locker rooms. Yet those are no longer being used for anything other than Emergency Exits. I wont be returning to this YMCA, Its no better than the Whispers Cabaret that advertises fabric free dining. Certainly not a Family Friendly Environment.
Great place to do q variety of activities.
In response to The Smiths review for 2015, Im not sure where this person went, but it was definitely NOT this YMCA location. My daughter, son, and I all have memberships. They are teenagers. My daughter and I enter through the WOMENS locker room, change out in PRIVATE stalls with curtains and chairs provided, and have lockers that we can lock to place our things into. There are working toilets with toilet paper, showers, and sinks with mirrors in these womens locker rooms. You exit through the womens locker room and enter the pool area. When done with the pool area, you exit back through the womens locker room. Boys ages over 4 years of age are asked to use the MENS locker room. This locker room is where my son goes, and much like the womens, the same items are available, and he can exit and enter the pool area through the MENS area. I have never seen a public locker room even once.My only complaint is that I entirely do not understand why the pool closes down when it rains. Were INDOORS. Lightning strikes for outdoor swimming, I can understand. But....were not outside. So, to me, it feels like this is just an out to cancel classes and collect dues anyway. Very unfair for members who pay to swim or attend water classes. Also, why isnt the Facebook page used to announce closers, like free swim, or weather related closings? No excuse there. Facebook is free and costs the facility absolutely nothing to log online and post up a quick memo.
This place is so poorly managed. The after school program is horrible. I have experienced the program at Bowie Elementary, and there is a lady there named Breesha whom is allowed to yell and scream at parents. She still has a job, dont bother reporting it to the director Terry Self, Elizabeth Self /Child care director, is his wife. This is the most horrible good ole boy system. Please send your child elsewhere, they have ZERO accountability at the YMCA in Corsicana.
I feel when an organization forget the core reason why it exists it becomes poor if horrid. I recently enrolled my daughter in soccer with this oraganization and had a simple request that my child participate with the individual requested, at times that would actually allow my child to paticipate with the team. i paid money for this activity, this was not a charity bestowed up on us. I was told and i quote, that my request was not a priority. I dont know about anyone else but when I pay for a service i actually expect service. I didnt ask for immediacy just that it be done when and it was possible. I feel the YMCA should hire a new sports director, one who knows how to make the members a priority. It would get high ratings and more membership. Take it from one previous employee to a current your performance wouldnt cut it at Northhaven YMCA in dallas where service matters. You might need a refresher class.
I have been calling for 3 weeks, 3 messages, about swim lessons, for 3 weeks i have never gotten a call back. This is ridiculous!!!!
The only day I really want to go its closed
