Ive gone to this shop twice for large repairs to my Honda, and each visit has been no-muss-no-fuss, drop the car off in the morning and its done by the end of the day, all repairs at a reasonable price. But my latest visit is the one that compels me to praise them here. My Hondas gear shifter would sometimes be locked in Park and my brake lights worked intermittently. All signs pointed to a bad brake light switch, supposedly and easy DIY job. I bought a new switch but simply couldnt complete the job myself -- the parts location under the dash above the brake pedal was just too inaccessible. I brought it to Bobs and they switched out the part in about 10 minutes and charged me less than the cost of a 12-pack of beer. Maybe this is the type of courtesy that two big repair jobs a few months apart buys you. But you can certainly count on them to treat you with courtesy and respect no matter the size of the job.

Joe at Bobs City Garage which is at Carroll Lane and SPID, the bay side of the freeway, has saved me so much money fixing my 2005 Chrysler 300 that I feel I should leave them a highly positive review, even though this is already a very busy garage. The only negative I can think, at all, is that it is really easy to miss their entrance. Theyre right next to a minute stop and theres a larger business on the other side and since Bobs City Garage driveway is just a few feet from the edge of the minute stop driveway, and youre on a one way street you have to be careful to watch for their entrance or youll wind up having to go around again. But the service is only what they find that you really need, even when they could have done much more work, Joe only did the necessary work. Instead of replacing an entire throttle body (the ETC electronic throttle body) Joe cleaned mine and that was all it took. Instead of a $300 plus job that I fully expected as my car was showing all the signs of needing ETC replacement, my bill was a little under $60. for cleaning the throttle body which is all that was necessary as my car runs great now. That is what I call an honest business. Thanks, Joe! Joe takes the time to explain whats going on with your car, why, and how hes going to fix it, and is very upfront about cost, and options, and whether or not you could let something go for a while, etc. Very honest, courteous and profressional. I have a 1984 Chevy Caprice, and it obviously needs attention now and again...I dont take it anywhere else but Bobs.
