Because youre just the best #1 to all of us
I called LPH at 7:30 pm before they close after hours of driving around and sharing to FB and Nextdoor app. I called LPH as my last resort because I figured no one uses the service anymore and Was I surprised. Betty assisted me in finding my dog. She let me know that a schnauzer has been called in and I gave permission to allow the person that found my dog to call me. He called right away and I was reunited with my dog within 30 minutes. Thank you so much LPH for your patience and efforts in helping people find their dogs.
I was a volunteer with LPH Lost Pet Hotline in Corpus from 1992-1995. I was on the Board of Directors. If you lose or find a pet animal, any type, call them. The phones use to be maintained 12 hours a day from 8 a.m until 8:00 p.m.This is a non profit, volunteer organization for the Corpus Christi, Texas and outlaying areas.People call with lost or found animals and the volunteers will match them up with like or similar. A finder never knows what the animals are. Sometimes a male is reported as a female and Vice Versa.Volunteers spend 12 hours straight answering calls. After hours the phone transferred to an answering service. Donations of every kind are welcome. Most volunteers will foster or temporarily hold an animal while trying to match with the other list or found. It is a labor of love and a wonderful organization. I learned a lot from them, implementing systems which were still used a few years ago. I have not talked to the volunteers so I have no knowledge of the changes made to the current system. My daughter, at 8 years old, would rush home, do her homework and dig in since she could read. She helped me make matches where we send a possible Owner to the Finders home to see if it could possibly be their missing pet. The Owners would be our eyes and I always asked them to take a photo of the animal and give me a better understanding of what type of dog or cat etc.I hope they are still doing well and are staying afloat. Monetary donations are accepted to assist with printing costs, telephone answering services, etc.
