Loved the service, I got everything done that I needed because I had a difficult return to process. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend going if you have a confusing return, they are dedicated to figuring it out.EDIT:It has been some time now, but one of the H&R reps flat out committed to investigating a tax issue that I was having and then completely ceased all communications with me. Extraordinarily unprofessional. My issue was not that they did not know how to do something, but rather that they gave me every indication that they would investigate and try to solve my issue and then just stopped communications with me. Just tell me you cant do it and then Ill get someone who can. Dont waste my time.

He told me it would be $169 to get my taxes done and at the end he told me it was almost $400. I felt through the whole process that I could have done them better myself on TurboTax. I had to tell him that my Medicare and medica 1095 forms were different and not the same thing.

It was my first time ever doing my taxes and the guy rushed though everything and signing stuff then told me fees after everything was signed

Our friend has been helping us with our taxes for over the past 10 years. A few years ago, she started working part-time for H&R Block on weekends to supplement her single mom income of putting two kids through college. This past year, Jim & Kathy Bruxvoort ( from Pella) bought the Coralville office and selected not to be open on Sundays. This would cut her part-time income by half. Since she could not work Sundays for them, she joined another agency who would allow her both days on weekends. H&R Block’s response? They are suing her! Even though the only customers she took with her are a handful of family and friends who have been with her since prior to working for H&R Block.It is astonishing to me that they are too Christen to hold office hours on Sundays but select to put a single mom of two through the financial hardship and emotional stress of being sued. Part of the five-page, fine-print paperwork she signed at start up is her agreement that if they selected to ever sue her, she would be responsible for all their legal expenses. They now have outspent the total sum of her earnings from the past 2 years from them and the tab continues to grow. I will never do business with a someone who treats either current or past employees as they are treating her.

Our appointment was at 12 oclock, we waited until 12.30 but there was still no one available to help us so we had to leave without getting our taxes done. We are not going to use this office again.

Our preparer seemed to know what she was doing. Pricing was still 300% more than Online preperation.
