Lots of equipment thats kept in good shape. Very happy to have a placeto lift and doesnt cost 1200 a year to join. I joined back in 2003, and it has changed names and ownership a few times but the cost has always been more than fair. The equipment is changed out periodically and has always been kept in good shape .Plus they have lots of free group workouts to boot. I cant see how anyone could complain unless maybe its their first gym experience and nothing to compare it too.
DONT COME TO THIS GYM AT ALL. THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY. WHEN YOU TRY TO CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP, THEY STILL CHARGE YOUR CARD. ALSO THE MANAGER IS REALLY MEAN. THEY HAVE THE WORST STAFF EVER. WE WAITED 20 MINUTES AT THE GYM TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE AND THEN SOMEONE CAME. WE WERE 3 PEOPLE AND WE CANCELED THEM ALL BUT THE MANAGER SAID THAT WE ONLY CANCELED ONE. ILL SAY IT ONCE AGAIN WORST GYM AND CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER.
Abusive manager (this one has been around for about four months), he took advantage of my daughter coming for two months to change a separate membership even that was not the deal. I also heard him in harsh discussion with other member at least about money. NOT nice.
I have been a member her before and just recently rejoined. The staff here is absolutely amazing. For the first few weeks I didnt know who exactly management was because every single person treated me like family when I walked in the building. Specifically Prav and Casey notice when Im not here and always keep me accountable and coming back. Never been a part of a gym like this. I can say that I will not be going anywhere anytime soon!
Convenient gym with all the equipment needed to reach my goals! Friendly staff and clean facility. Casey does a great job managing staff and taking care of customers!
This location has been my main gym since I was a freshman in high school (Im 24 now). As I went to college I remember this gym simply being eh, and I was never really motivated to go anymore. Shortly after their renovations I went back in one day and was highly impressed. Ive now been going consistently again for months. The upgrades to the facilities are amazing, plenty of well maintained and new machines to use. Management/staff has also shifted. I find the new crew to be highly engaging with their members and truly do give an arm and a leg to help folks however needed. The trainers and staff are incredibly friendly and its always pleasant seeing them around the gym. Kasi and Devin are incredible, they have my business for the future to come!
It is impossible to cancel a membership, they started charging me more after COVID and refuse to honor my original CONTRACTED price. When trying to cancel they charge for an extra 30 days just because they can. Now i use all the machines with a fully loaded diaper to spite them.
DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE!!! Even when you cancel they will charge your card! Mine card was taken off the account but they continued to consider me a member and now I owe over two years of gym membership fees that I never knew about! Horrible horrible way to do business!!Of course below they are going to say they don’t see that I canceled but that is just to make themselves look good. Don’t trust this place!
I love this gym... I get email updates; any time we need them. Example, club closed due to busted pipes ... Also got an email letting us know gym back open now. They send great reminders as well - reminding you to live, eat, BE and stay healthy. I live in Irving but drive to Coppell, just for the gym. 5:00 am Crew!
My boyfriend and I have been going here for a few months now, we actually drive a decent distance to go to this gym as opposed to others. Super clean place and has a lot of variety for both cardio and lifting/strength based training. I’ve yet to participate in classes or be able to do some of the stuff that comes with the membership, but hopefully soon. You can’t really go wrong here, I would for sure recommend
Awesome fitness center everything is perfect for my needs. Not over crowded affordable great equipment. I even have a personal trainer who is amazing. I am glad To be a part of Texas Family Fitness.
Dont listen to these bad reviews. Ive been coming here for about a year and the staff is the most friendly people Ive encountered in some time. The gym is well kept and well managed. Thank you to everyone especially the GM (bald guy not sure of his name to be honest)
It was easy to get a membership. The gym has a great variety of equipment. I love the turf area. The locker room is spotless and the staff is friendly.
Love this gym the staff is friendly & outgoing. Signed up for training sessions & hit my goal weight & kept the weight off. Their rates affordable too!
I really like the gym, and the people who work there are very friendly. My only complaint is a lack of a mask mandate. I am vaccinated, so it isn’t an issue for me. But, I really feel sorry for the young unvaccinated employees who are exposed to the multitudes who refuse to wear a mask. If I were out looking for a new gym, I would not choose this one (at this time) because of that. Again, it is not an issue for me. I still wear my mask, even though I’m vaccinated, for the protection of others.Otherwise, the gym is great!
Ive had my share of gyms and this is the best gym Ive ever been a member of. The facility is newly updated and clean. The staff and management are very kind. Their primary goal is to help you achieve your fitness goals.
I had to move out of state immediately back in late 2019. I called to cancel my membership in March 2020 but due to covid I couldn’t access a post office to send a certified letter from Michigan. The guy I talked to said he’d escalate it and have it taken care of by a manager due to my extenuating circumstances. WRONG. A year later, and I’m still being charged $55 a year and $10 a month for a gym membership that’s over 1,000 miles away. It’s 2021!!! Make it easier for people to cancel their membership SAFELY and easily. Oh and calling corporate? What a joke. No one answers and the “mailbox is full” so I can’t even leave a message.
Enjoy working out here. Like the cleaning spray bottles, always have. Some of them need to be replaced and do not spray well. Maybe add more. Also, OPEN A SOUTH LOCATION, please!
My husband and I loving going to this gym. The staff is welcoming. Great equipment, cleaning supplies are available all around and we feel great working out here.
After cancelling my membership over a year ago, I have a charge for this month they cant resolve and it is being sent up the chain. What kind of scam is this?
Great gym. Nice and VERY CLEAN!NEW staff is friendly and Professional. Nice pricing and good hours of operation 👍🏼
I signed up 3 weeks ago, talked into 4 week training sessions, poor training, rushed out..on my 3 week visit after they changed my trainer twice i go to cancel and am told I will get charged another month anyways. I havent been there for 3 weeks and since it isnt 30 days notice Im getting charged? Not happy with how they train,or lack of communication. I will post more until I get stop payment on my account.how can you charge someone for less than 30 days notice when my membership isnt even a month old?also explained im not sure if I can afford 162 a month and WAS told I could stop payment on training pack if I give notice before 7 days, was told by phone representative they had tanning beds, was also told i can pay per visit 38$ to speak with trainer after I canceled which he stated hes not supposed to do. I left in tears, wasted money on trainer that didnt give me what I spoke about in initial first visit...
Poor masking and Online response - The facility is fine, most of the equipment works but when a machine breaks it takes weeks or more to get it repaired.Staff, especially manager and trainers, do not wear their masks appropriately, even before the mandate was lifted.I have written to the main office using the contact us email and NEVER gotten a response. They dont really seem to care about issues or concerns. After having many physical therapy sessions, I am bothered by the lack of attention to form, and the chatty nature, of the trainers at the facility. So good value for a gym, staff is friendly and helpful, poor management top to bottom.
We have been with Tx family fitness for more than 10 years . Cancellation rules are to let them know a month ahead of time and they will charge your card . Before the billing due date, called the facility and customer service billing office verbally informed them and they acknowledge it, they sent me confirmation emails about the cancellation. Due to snow and weather conditions could not walk in there to sign the form in person, again called the facility and head office they emailed me confirmation of cancellation that credit card will not be charged again that charge was final bill .After few days spoke to the manager at the location and head office representative both were not cooperative and sounded like I was committing a crime, totally ignored the confirmation emails and bluntly refused, not to charge me any more .Worst thing is they bounce you back and forth between the facility and their so called corporate head office. This unprofessional practice should end right away .I do not agree with owners response typically sounded like a generic answer . And in regards to you stating you don’t see any cancellation emails then contact your staff and ABC financial, you have not resolved my issue and my card should not be charged any more you have already charged one months notice feeI have reported to BBB and forwarded the emails to them as well .
Good gym and decent price. Good variety of equipment. Not too crowded in mornings. Gets pretty crowded in evenings. Good amount of cardio equipment and benches for free weights.Often the soap is out in some of the men’s shower dispensers early in the morning, so don’t think usage is the cause. The locker room is a little on the small side, with two toilets and two urinals. One of the faucets’ handles has been broke for months. But overall it’s a good gym with more pro’s than con’s.
Good machines and friendly staff. Broken Machines take too long to repair. Latpull down was out of order for 6+ months and calf machine has been out for 3+ months. Otherwise, no complaints
Been attending for several months and opening the gym at 5am seems to be an issue for employees. But the staff can be nice.
This is one shady outfit. Bought a one year paid in full membership in 2018, 6 months after the membership expired charges begun to appear on my card, called the store various times till finally got a Manager to tell me he couldnt understand why they were still billing me but I would have to resolve the issue with main office. Here we are 2021and the main office refuses to issue refund or stop billing for that matter. Had to get the card company involved and still not resolved. Funny thing is that I tried to pay for the year in cash and they couldnt take cash. I think this is the plan all along
This gym has all the staples any lifter would want. I’m so happy they worked hard to stay open during COVID and allow us fitness junkies to continue to stay fit, healthy, and mentally sane during such isolating times.
I’ve been a member of TFF for several years now and love it! The Zumba, Piyo, and strength training classes especially are such a great workout. I especially am so thankful for all the cleaning they do consistently to maintain a safe and clean work-out gym. Thank you for always going the extra mile!
The biggest scammers of the fitness industry. Do not sign up for personal training sessions they will keep charging u and wont be able to cancel!!! We signed up for a 2 month personal training special to learn that they will charge full price for a third month! They blamed their previous gym and sales managers and said thats why they are no longer here but not willing to do anything to take ownership of their own scams!! I asked them to cancel before the 2 month was up and when I talked to corporate she said issue resolved and they wont charge me for that third month but they went ahead and did that..I called corporate again and now they claim they have nothing in the notes that I talked and cancelled ahead of time. Never seen a gym with so much lies and deception! They definitely need to close this business.
Great gym. Staff is awesome, the equipment is kept in good order, and there are plenty of classes.
I love this TFF location. Especially because the kids klub has been such a gift! It has a ton of toys and the girls who work there are really sweet. Jordan works the kids klub and my boys LOVE LOVE LOVE her. The staff is friendly and I enjoy seeing my “gym friends” on the reg here.
Texas Family Fitness is an awesome gym. The people are great, its never over-crowded and its clean and comfortable.
Very clean facility, great staff! I am so thankful they are open, keeping me sane through these trying times!
Good vibes and good people
I called to speak to Rachel or Nicole about my closed account. I was told I would be contacted in 5 to 10 business days. That was Jan. 8, today is Jan 26th and still nothing. I closed my account, my wifes account and kids club account. Paid my dues that were owed. No big deal. My wife gets a call 3 weeks ago from a collection company called Swift collections. Theyre saying my wife owes 280 something dollars for unpaid dues for her gym membership. The problem is I canceled the whole account with a young lady named Veronica at the North Frisco location. Texas Family Fitness took it upon themselves to not close my wifes account and make her the primary holder of the account. I spoke to a young man named Colin who agreed with me and said that Texas Family Fitness is wrong and they have been doing this to people since covid-19. I would now like to speak with Josh Wheeler CEO about my situation.
Staff is rude, gym is unclean. A lot of times cleaner and towels will be out for hours. They were antimask since day one, proving they dont truly care about their members health. Staff does not do anything about members not wearing masks and not respecting social distancing.EDIT: they can blantatly lie in their response and say they encourage masks and require it of staff but baby dont lie, at best your staff wears masks as fashionable chin straps as they scroll instagram on the clock, most of the trainers cant even bother to put the mask on at all. Walk in at anytime and see for yourself : )
Updated: NOW they respond. (8/28/20) How can anyone put their account on hold when you dont respond to emails? Your employees DO call and solicit adding family members. Feel free to have a rep call me and I can give you those dates as well as the email dates asking about our accounts. It is impossible to receive any communication back from calls or emails. I have been trying to cancel my membership since April. Have left multiple voicemails and sent multiple emails. We were finally able to get a person from the Denton location to provide an address where we could send certified communication to cancel our membership. With Covid and them being local, looks like they would have worked with the customers. Not so much. We sent a certified letter stating our issues and we were short a couple of days hitting the 30 day notice, but with the lack of accessibility to speak to anyone they still dinged our account. STILL nobody has called or replied to emails. This has been going on since April. OH but they have been able to call multiple times to ask if we would like to add someone to our family plan!
Due to covid closures I put my gym membership on hold instead of canceling for 4 months. Prior to the hold ending I wanted to cancel my membership and was told I needed to cancel in person. A week later I received a text message I had owed 2 months of dues and my card had been declined. I spoke to a manager on duty who checked my account and stated I did not owe 2 months and there was no decline/fees on my account. And I only owed for ONE month as it was the day before I was to be charged and I needed to give a 30 day notice of cancellation. I went later that week; January 12th, to cancel my membership only to be told that my account had 3 declines in which they charged me fees and for the month of January. I confirmed with my CC company the gym only ran my card once and there were NO declines. Statement attached. They lied which is a violation of SOX compliance. If they have made any negative reporting against me I want it corrected immediately.4/7 - I have proof my card was not declined and sent that with the falsified statement to the BBB as proof to my claim. You dont get to falsify records (and throw SOX compliance to the side) in order to charge me because you were losing money during Covid. And if this was so open and shut you would have responded to my BBB claim that is still waiting on a response from the COPPELL location. But its hard to refute concrete proof of your lies and deception when its in black and white straight from my CC company. Its been over a month... respond to my BBB claim already. And furthermore, if I had seen the number of complaints and your F rating with the BBB I would have never joined that awful, scandalous, thieving gym! Pull them up on the bbb.org folks. Cant dispute hundreds of complaints!!!!!
DO NOT SIGN UP WITH TEXAS FAMILY FITNESS.We offer all members two convenient ways to cancel. Cancellation must take place in the gym or by written notice via certified mail sent to: P.O. Box 3525, Coppell, TX 75019I cancelled my month to month membership with Texas Family Fitness in May 2020 with a letter sent to corporate. I did not hear anything from Texas Family until ABC financial sent me a debt collection of $62 dollars that was owed. So, i went to the Texas Family Fitness 3 times, in July, August, and September and each time, which i live 30 minutes away now is why i cancelled. They said there was no manager right now and i would need to come back later. The last time i went to UPS next door and sent a overnight to them to to cancel my account. STILL NOT CANCELLED.I got a phone call today from a collection agency in the amount of $360. which i paid today. THEY ARE SCAMMERS. GO TO ANOTHER GYM. ATTACHED ARE PICTURES SHOWING PROOF.
Love how close this gym is to my house and understand the reduced hours when mandated for Covid 19 but they are STILL closing at 5:00 on Saturday and Sunday. I have asked about it but cant get a straight answer from anyone who works here. The wifi never works either and again, cant get any help with that either. I have a fitness plan through my insurance so I can go to any participating gym. LA Fitness in Coppell doesnt close until 7 on Saturday. I guess Ill have to start going there. I would think with all the competition in the fitness facility industry, management would keep a check on such things. This gym is not any nicer - may not even be as nice - as LAF so why would people keep coming here over any other gym? I dont understand it and give up trying. I will be heading to LAF when this gym closes and will be a regular there from now on. I hope TFF wakes up before they have to close. Good luck!.
Friendly staff, good selection of equipment, and reasonably priced.
I’ve had a membership with this place for years, on and off. After months of COVID happening and still on-going, I decided to try back at this TFF.WOW was I disappointed to find most people in the gym without masks on. On and off machines and walking about freely WITHOUT their masks on!!! Staff had theirs on, but did not enforce wearing them. It was apparent this was the norm and culture of this gym at this location. I walked out!!!I’m all about not letting COVID run our lives. I’m also all about protecting my family from disease. Finding balance in that means I’ll stick to my own home gym for now. Might try a few other gyms.Definitely not this one til masks aren’t required anymore because they don’t care here!
This is a terrible establishment. Dont ever do their personal training. I was practically forced to do this by the management and what was advertised to me was not what was being sold. I do not recommend this to ANYONE! If you want a good gym check out the TFF in Lewisville. It is much better than the one in Coppell.
Decent gym with a good variety of machines. Staff is friendly enough- although I’m not one for caring if they “push you” to succeed. Has everything you need for most any lifting routine you are in. My biggest gripe is the lack of cleanliness. Weights are usually all over, not organized. Multiple paper towel dispensers are empty every day which means no one or myself can clean equipment after use. I’ve never seen staff clean anything and most guests aren’t too keen on wiping machines/equipment behind them- I don’t even care about Covid. They could use more squat racks for the size of them gym.
They are snake oil salesman, read your contract, you can’t cancel w/o a big fee hidden in Contract! Nothing good is cheap, nothing cheap is good!
Best gym around. Clean, safe, and respectful.
Its 2021, why we still using letters to cancel memberships ? i was thinkin about signing up, but not anymore lol sounds fishy
Ive been going to Texas family fitness in Coppell for going 5+ years. I moved to Flower Mound 2 years ago but still drive a little out of my way to stay with them. Im on a sweetheart of a membership that makes the extra five minute drive well worth it compared to the two gyms that are slightly closer. Ive never had any issues here. The equipment is well maintained. They swap out for newer stuff from time to time. The staff at the door are always friendly. Ive never used the personal trainers but several always say hello and ask how Im doing or what Im working that day. Never been pressed about personal training either. Never attended any classes but I see them going on. My only complaint would be Ive noticed in the summer they can overdue the A/C and it can get downright cold. Which sucks when youve worked up a good sweat. I personally would rather it be a sauna in there. Its the gym.. I want to sweat and be be uncomfortable but I get it..
Very hard to cancel. Took me months - kept charging me for extra months. Had to send a certified letter. I do not recommend joining this club.
I liked the facilities, though a little crowded it was ok. My problem was the same as many have reported, charges on my credit card after quitting the gym. Called a couple of times, they said they would return the call, but nothing ever happened. Had to deal with it through my credit card company, and start the dispute process. Do not recommend. An otherwise good experience, had ended up as an annoyance, with multiple calls and emails.Edit 09/02. The owner reached back with a message, just to keep ignoring me. Empty words with no actions. Bad management in trying times. They are refuting charges and keep trying to charge me 5 months after quitting. If I start walking to the gym every time they keep charging me Ill do a better workout than what I ever did there. This is not the attitude that will keep you in business in todays world, and be sure that when it happens, it was all brought on by yourself.
Dont consider this at all. will provide more information when i have more time. meanwhile please be aware and read all agreements you are signing. the way they speak is 200% different than what is there is agreement and you will be bound to that and pay as per that. the only thing you will get back is Sorry.
Don’t go here. They just want your money. I signed up for the deal they had during Covid and was told I wouldn’t have to pay their annual fee because I would only be going there for 2 months. They said anything they could to get me to sign up that day and now I have to pay an annual charge that is more then what I paid for my 2 months of membership. Do yourself a favor and stay away from these guys.
This place is very unprofessional and they are all about money. How could you charge money from customers when the entire world is suffering from Corona virus.I was charged now(August) for personal training for March, yearly charges and monthly bill while the gym was closed for almost 5 months due to global pandemic and I didnt go to gym since then.I tried calling the office several times to cancel but no body was there to attend the calls. Finally, When I asked them over phone in August to cancel my membership I was asked to come in person and I went twice as nobody from management was there to take care of my request.
The customer service was very worst, I have cancelled my membership. They dont have proper customer service to answer the questions.
I have been a member at this club for 4 years now. The environment and staff are very professional and care about what it is you want and need. Instead of focusing on just numbers they help you get to where you want to go with your fitness journey. I have never met a more passionate person than Praveen. He is there everyday it seems like with no days off. I respect his values and his commitment to making the club as great as it can be. It’s a great place.
Staff do not wear masks per the county and their self imposed guidelines. Social distancing is not enforced. Their guidelines state “ no Customer gym bags are allowed, yet gym gags are throughout the facility. When the issues were brought to managements attention, Peyton the managers response was “ if you don’t feel safe then leave” Esther than correct the issues. Horrible safety and no concern for members health.
Ive heard Family Fitness let yoga instructor Thomas go. Thats a big mistake. He is one of the best yoga teachers Ive had. After his class, I always feel so exhilarated and refreshed. If you follow his flow, the class has an intermediate level of difficulty. Because of this, some people may struggle, but he does not expect for everyone to follow. He is very open and always tells people to flow at their own pace. My daughter has been a member for around 6 years and she attended very few yoga classes before Thomas because she did not like any of the instructors. But since Thomas started teaching, she has been going regularly at least once or twice a week as her schedule permits. Now, she is not planning to go again.
IMPORTANT:TO ANYONE READING THIS, TFF have received and refused to answer 80 Better Business Bureau complaints in the last 12 months alone. They have an F.Sneaks a last month clause in your contract. Tried to cancel subscription because my cancerous aunt is immunocompromised and I cant risk Covid, but they force you to do it in-store, which is morally bankrupt to begin with. It just shames people for canceling, no other purpose. You can do it by mail, but thats an insane hassle and no other companies do this besides gyms. Finally, they force you to pay for the NEXT month. If I try to reject the charges, Ill lose a huge chunk on my credit score. So holding my credit score hostage too.Disgusting.
The manager Eric is really nice and the staff are all friendly. The facility is clean and well-maintained. I leave my kids in child care (which they enjoy) and can work out and shower without having to worry about them. Cant beat the value for the price.
I honestly don’t get what everyone complains about. For $10 a month you get what you need. The gym is clean and the machines are new, now could it be better? Yeah I’m sure but then the price wouldn’t be $10 per month. Is not a bad gym at all. Is a bit far from home but definitely better than an apt gym.
I got an great deal and so far it’s been a great gym for what my goals are! They also offer a lot of great stuff while keeping it affordable (Weights, classes, turf area, daycare.) My son was nervous for the kids club but has been loving which is awesome👌🏽
The biggest scammers of the fitness industry. They literally took my husbands information while creating my account. Then when I cancelled my account they started a new account under my husbands name without my permission. Must avoid these guys are filthy people trying to save their face after COVID hurt their business. Disgraceful.
TERRIBLE customer service at their corporate line Nicole refused to be understanding of my situation with regard to the annual fee that I was never made aware of during my covid signup process. She kept saying if there was a mistake you should have let us know 3 days after the contract was sent out. Fortunately for them they took my email down wrong and I was never delivered a contract therefore wasn’t made aware of any sort of annual fee because they conveniently decided to leave that out during sign up process. Really disappointed looking for a new gym now.
Ive been with this gym for 2 years. Very mediocre equipment and the staff doesnt care about you once youve signed up. One day, I asked Eric if I could do the free trial of private lessons, as advertised on the website. He said no since I was not a new member. I said fine and signed up for 12 private lessons for $500. BIG MISTAKE. I did two lessons and barely broke a sweat on the second one (first one was an assessment, so it didnt really count as a workout. I made the mistake of signing up without asking about the cancellation policy because they refused to do anything about my dissatisfaction. So, I moved to Dallas, moved to LA fitness and cancelled my membership. 2 months later, Im still getting charged even AFTER freezing my credit card. I have since sent in the paperwork via fax 2 weeks ago and they said they didnt get my cancellation paperwork. My membership still hasnt gotten cancelled and Im losing my mind.
I read the reviews before joining this gym. I was a little hesitant about it considering all the payment problems with canceling and everything. They made it very clear upon joining (Heather) on how to cancel my membership and walked through everything over the phone. So far, no complaints from me. It is a smaller gym if you are comparing it to lifetime, LA, or any of the huge gyms but I usually have no problems with getting on machines or waiting to work out! Great so far!
Great business scheme - let 25 year-olds manage the store-front while the back-end takes zero responsibility for customer service. Example: I was charged for personal training for March (while the gym was closed and they were laying off trainers) ... The Coppell office is apparently not at liberty to provide reimbursement. I tried calling the corporate office several times and left messages. My call was never answered and no one responded to my voicemails. I would rather pay much more for a gym with reliable customer service than get that type of runaround again.
Worst experience . I’ve cancelled my membership in March . Suddenly noticed that money was getting deducted from my account and it’s still going on .. talked to local manager at least 4 times, help desk guys 3 times . Today I’ve been told to talk to Corporate. Manager over here told that they can not help in reimbursement. She told me that my membership status is pending cancellation . Now i don’t know what that means . I’ve filled up the form and I have been told by them in March that my membership will be canceled. Got a confirmation mail tooI called corporate many times . Their mail box is full . No one is responding. Money is still getting deducted from my account . I’ve no clue where to go .. it’s money extortion.Worst experience .. don’t go to Texas Family Fitness at all ..
Felix gave me the deal of a lifetime! Great experience! 10/10 would recommend.
Cancelled the membership for my wife and myself on 10/31/19. Got charged again on December 15. Went back to the gym in Coppell and spoke to Heather (Claims to be the manager. Shes absolutely useless.) Heather said I was still getting invoiced because my daughters account was still active. My daughter has a lifetime membership which required no monthly payment for the pass 7 years. So why would I continue to get charged for my wife and myself even though our membership was cancelled in October? When I asked Heather, so my membership is active? Heather said no. Even though I continue to get charged. MAKES NO SENSE!!! Anyway, another gentleman (I believe his name is Leland) stepped in and we worked this out. He was honest enough to admit that it did not make any sense I was getting invoiced for a membership I no longer have. @ Heather, you have to step up your game if you really want to be a manager. Be honest and ask for training so you can better explain how the business operates. Texas Family Fitness HQ, Leland in Coppell did a great job.
The ladies restroom is being remodeled. It would have been nice if someone noticed I was in my work clothes and caring a large backpack to change clothes and said, the ladies changing room is being remodeled, we dont have showers at this time. But no one did. When I came to the front desk, they said you can go next door to change our go through those double doors and use the nice facilities we have set up out back. NO THANK YOU!! The remodeling should be happening at night when no one is here.
I love this gym. Great value, great assortment of up to date, well maintained equipment. Doesnt have everything, but it has what I need as an advanced lifter.
Decent facility. Nothing great. They are remodeling the place. Firstly they closed the Women Restroom and expect people to use the temporary Restrooms outside. Now the gym is closed completely for a few days. I don’t know how they think that is acceptable. I guess we still have to pay the monthly dues for a closed facility.
Awesome gym! Clean, lots of new equipment, friendly staff. Visited here while traveling from out of state and they were very accommodating. Will be back the next time I visit!
Beware of this company! See pics. My experience is the same!
If I could give it 0 stars, I would. Although the facility is clean and well--equipped, TFF is nothing short of a scam. I signed up for a membership and asked repeatedly if it was a two person membership, of which the employee who signed me up said yes. Fast forward two months and Im denied entrance because they said it was a one person membership and that I was only on a guest trial. After being on the phone with a manager, they insisted that I wasnt mislead and tried to make it up by giving me a free month, but would charge $30 more than my original quote for what I thought was a two person membership in the first place. After moving around the country and signing up for various gyms, Ive never encountered one as malicious as this one. They make their money misleading vulnerable people by drawing individuals in with initial good deals, then hiding fees underneath their illusive wording and contracts. The convenience and low price of this gym is not worth their deceptive practices. NEVER COME HERE!
Okay so I just toured this gym location with Adam and I gotta say I loved every aspect of this gym. Adam did such an amazing job showing me around and making me feel comfortable to my potentially second home. (Thanks Adam! You were awesome!) Unfortunately I will not be joining this facility due to a couple recent reviews. Which I had openly discussed with Adam while we were there. As a woman, a mother and a wife I feel a little uneasy with a family base gym facility I’d have to worry about someone trying to pursue my husband. Don’t need that drama. Lol. So once again I can’t thank Adam enough for the time he took to show me around and feel welcome. But this is not the gym for my family and I.
Unbelievable - I posted this review (below) 1 year go and when I see reviews today they have exactly the same type of review I had posted. This definitely says a lot about the replies to the comments that whoever from the facility is posting and lies after lies, no action taken to improve and have the community members suffer through the same experience I had a year go. Needs to be reported to legal authorities!!!I posted the below about a year go:These people are thieves. The manager is just there to collect money using as many loopholes or fraudulent mechanisms. Very badly managed facility. The corporate is even worst. Try to leave them and see the disaster that follows you for months to come... horrible!!!
I joined the Coppell gym. The facility is in good condition with new equipment so thats a plus. However I was lied to about hidden membership fees and training programs. The info given is partial and incomplete. They will argue that you were unclear when in actuality the details are intentionally omitted at the time of signing up. Its a common sales ploy. I will continue to use the gym at the basic membership level because it is still cost effective but I am disappointed in the lack of integrity.
Decent equipment, but the fact that I have to drive there to cancel my membership is so wack. I live far out that could be so inconvenient to many others just to sign a paper. A simple phone call for the cancellation would be fantastic. Soild one star for that reason
This gym is terrible the staff member will do anything to try and get money out of there customers. I had the pass where I can bring guest and they told my guest that she had to pay to get in although I showed them my membership. However they began harassing my guest by telling her that next time she had to pay or else they would kick us out. I’m so glad I cancelled my membership there I would go to this gym again only if they get a new set of staff and if they update their equipment and ORGANIZE it. It was a little confusing trying to figure out what machine was what due to the fact that the machine were scattered all over the place.
Great gym affordable prices. Never had any issues here. The gym has just enough machines and big enough weight area. Somedays are more busy than others but nothing compared to 24hrs, Or LA fitness.Gym is nice, small, and intimate. Going here now for for about a year. Definitely a goto
I absolutely love the facility. There is a machine for everything and the staff have always been friendly and helpful. The personal trainers know exactly how to make you feel comfortable and get the results you are looking for. My daughter loves going to the gym so she can go into the kids room. She always has so much fun.
Great gym. Staff is on point. Ive been to almost every gym in the metro and if you need a reasonably priced gym with all the workout necessities this is the place to be. Not to mention if you have kids, the kids club addition is reasonably priced also and sanitation seems to be a priority. Definitely recommend checking the place out
Very deceptive contracts and not explaining what in the contract.
I was looking for a reasonably priced gym while staying in town for the week. Texas Family Fitness was perfect. Very clean nice equipment and friendly staff. Many different machines as well as free weights. I have been working out for 33 years and I would recommend this gym.
I was lied to when signing up. I was charged in error and then the person who signed me up wasnt there anymore so no one would help me. I was referred to their corporate office to speak with them for correction. Through their 2 week + refund process they incorrectly charged me again. I spoke with Laura, the Director of Operations who said the buck stops with her and there is no one above her in the company and refused to listen, provide any offer of resolution, refused to provide me a contact saying she manages everything. I even asked for an email to formally submit a complaint in writing and she said to find it myself online. Extremely rude and unprofessional. If I could give zero stars, I would.
Worst communication got charged 2 times during covid though I froze my account and the reimbursement was never issued.
Where they excel is great staff, the equipment is decent and they offer personal training courses. Why you need to stay away is if you leave the state/country you can not just phone in cancel your membership like you can with almost everything else in the world, you have to be there in person. Which is just plain dumb. They then send your balance to collections messing up your credit. And then they still keep charging you until you can fly back to Texas and cancel.Go to planet fitness same good price and, no stupidity if you need to cancel over the phone.
I do enjoy the classes they offer. Showers are hard to use with no benches or chairs to use for your clothes. But my most concern... And why I stopped going to this location is because the staff in the childrens area are rude and unprofessional. Twice Ive had two different times where I spoke to the manager. Once in the morning and a different day at night. The manager said he would speak with the ladies but the second time was enough for me. I wanted to quit. But my husband said there are different locations, so We now go the extra miles to the Colony location. Where the ladies there Are 💯% better. Friendly and professional every time.
It has been recently remodeled and its beautiful. I like the new equipment and its cleanliness. Always friendly and helpful staff.
I have never left a negative review for a business because I genuinely try to be understanding of things, but I have never been so talked down to by a manager in my life. I recently re joined this gym after moving back to Coppell for a brief time after college. While looking for a job, I decided to do training class to take up time, but once I got a job I decided to discontinue my training, in addition to the fact the my trainer left the gym (due to the fact that a new manager came in and was rude to her, which should have been a immediate red flag). Later the new manager called me and asked me if I would like to come in for training again and I told him no since my trainer has left and I don’t have time with my work schedule. I didn’t think of anything of it because I thought I had clearly communicated to him that I was no longer interested. Apparently my training was only “frozen” I started being charged again even though I cancelled my entire membership earlier this month because I moved out of Coppell. At that time of cancelling I was told I’d simply be charged $10 because it takes 30 days for it to take effect. I was out of town when I realized the charges on my account, so I asked my mother to try to clear it up for me. She spoke with Prav, who she described to me as very rude and unapologetic of the misunderstanding. In the mean time I left a voicemail on the corporate office line and have not heard back in 6 days. I decided to call the Coppell location again today to try to clear up the whole thing myself and got him on the phone again. I tried to keep an open mind talking to him despite what my mother said before, but as soon as he realized that he was discussing the same matter to me again he became very condescending and hostile. Told me multiple times that he wasn’t going to discuss the matter repeatedly, he couldn’t do anything about it, and that it’s a contract and it doesn’t matter about a misunderstanding. I’m upset how he treated me in addition to feeling like I was blind sided when I straight up was asked about my training before and I literally cancelled my membership and was still charged for something I clearly was not going to use. He explained that I have until my membership ends to use them (a week and a half and I guess with a trainer that’s I don’t even know) or I could transfer them to my mom’s account however she had an uncomfortable training experience there previously and is not interested (which also contributes to me not wanting to use a random trainer from them) Bottom line, I understand this gym is conveniently located for residents of Coppell at a cheep price (minus the training), but their unethical business and lack of human experience should deter anyone from being a member (or the next victim of their policies). Like I said in the beginning I don’t leave these kinds of review ever, but I feel like it would be a disservice to the community if they were not aware of their sleazy business practices.
I had a membership with a place called Impact Fitness in Valley Ranch. They closed down almost overnight around October of 2016 so I just started going to a new fitness center. I later realized that they were still charging me for the membership even though the place was no longer in business. I tried calling but that didnt work.I started investigating the charge and found that it belongs to a Texas Family Fitness. I called to stop the charge and they said that I cant stop the charge unless I go down to one of their locations and do it in person but I cant do that since I moved to Chicago last year. They gave me the runaround and eventually, they gave me their corporate office number so that I can call and get that resolved but they said the same thing and if I cant do it in person then I will have to do it with a mailed letter.I was charged for over a year for a gym that was closed down and their explanation was that Texas Family Fitness had bought the members when they closed down!!!!Eventually, they agreed to cancel payments over the phone which only shows you that they just want to make it impossible for you to cancel and keep charging you their fees.I will be reporting them to the Better Business Beru of course and I will be filing a case with the local small claims because I was not notified for any of this and according to my agreement, my contract ended in May 2016.Anyhow, I wonder how many people had to waste many hours of their life trying to figure this out and stop payment and how much money they lost in the process.
My husbands and I go regularly. It has great equipment. We have not dealt with any of the financial issues described in some of the reviews. The only two things I would like to see differently, is: It would be great to see a worker go around cleaning the equipment regularly. Additionally, we would truly like for Texas Family Fitness to get wifi.
Absolute worst customer service. You should be able to cancel your membership without having to reinvent the wheel. Certified mail... No form.. cant be faxed or emailed. Write a letter get it certified and hope for the best or Come in to facility and wait 20 minutes to be billed and fill out form.. TERRIBLE
By far the best gym Ive had a membership with. I have the best trainer ever Kris Esparza always whips me into shape but all of the staff are so nice and friendly. Workout equipment and machines are always clean. My daughter and I love everyone there and always enjoy coming to Texas Family Fitness!
One of the worst gyms Ive visited
This gym has gone downhill. I’ve been working out at that location since 2011, when it was Express, and nothing but the name and the color of the inside has changed. The equipment: clips, bars, weights, and even the machines themselves are in a state of disrepair or straight up missing. If you go at night, good luck trying to get help as the person working the counter is everywhere but there
Was recently charged $80 for membership fees when they werent even open? Hope this place goes out of business.
