My husband and I got a coupon in the mail and wanted to give our money to a local business. He took one of our cars in today for an oil change around 10:30 this morning. Would have been awesome, but it all started out bad. He was turning into the street that the shop was located on at about 15 mph and as he was braking, he hit a lot of loose gravel on the pavement, causing him to land in the ditch.One of the guys at the shop, Jeff maybe?, came out and offered to help my husband by calling a tow truck. $80 later his car was out and able to be driven to the shop.Around 4:30 he called to see if the car was ready and was told that the the person in charge of his car was out on a test drive and he would have to speak to him about the car. My husband called back around 5:10, only to be told that the car was never touched, and that they were under the impression that he was dropping it off to have the oil change done tomorrow? It takes ME 30 minutes to change my cars oil, we just dont have the time in the day to do it, or else I/wed totally do it! So yeah, $80, no telling what kind of undercarriage damage, and no oil change, so we wont be back.Its a shame, I love supporting local. 2 stars for the dude that offered to call a tow truck.

I have had work done on both my wife’s car and my truck by Maces Garage. These guys are over the top in exceeding my expectations. They are efficient, honest, and stand behind their work (I had to test them on that at no fault of their own). Jeff is always happy to answer any questions I have regarding my repair. They’ve always been spot on with their diagnostic work and give accurate quotes before work is started. They are a breath of fresh air from what I’ve come to expect from some mechanic shops. Give them a shot and I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

AAA approved usually means a good garage, and I was NOT disappointed. These guys to do good work and I have used them several times. Trustworthy, and at a decent price. I tell everyone I know who needs a mechanic about them.

Jeff and Jack are really friendly people and customer service is good but after my first visit to Maces Garage, I would reconsider. Upon pick up of my car, I test drove it around the neighborhood and I told Jeff that the steering was not aligned but he told me that he test drove it before pick up and everything is fine without even checking my car again. I recently went to a different place and they told me that Maces Garage mechanic did a terrible job and the bolt was loose and may come off anytime.

Found these guys through AAA and then asked a couple of long-time Conway residents about them and got great comments. Have taken truck two times to them with great service and satisfaction. Would recommend them highly.

Good services and good prices. Weve had anything from motor mount replacement, tires, oil changes, wires/plugs replaced, brakes done... you name it - here. The estimates are always spot on. These guys are very nice and worked with us when we only wanted specific things fixed. I appreciate a place that will call you and talk with you about doing only what you want done and are reasonably priced too. Great place!

I have been going to Mace’s Garage for all of my car’s needs for over 6 months now. I drive a 2000 Hyundai Elantra that has needed a few repairs, (worn parts due to age such as wheel bearings, mounts, etc,) and the work here has always been honest, thorough, and reasonably priced. Jeff remembers you by name and makes you feel welcome, never are you talked into something you don’t need and oil changes are always done with a full inspection. Each time I wanted an inspection of a certain part to see if it was worn due to age or not, Jeff executed it with utmost thoroughness and addressed my concerns EXCEPTIONALLY well. The air conditioner in my Ford Focus wasnt working so I called around for estimates. Maces Garage came in almost $800 below what Ford could offer to replace it, AND they were able to repair my car in a couple of days as opposed to over a week that was offered at other places. They had to basically rebuild the air conditioner inside the dash meaning they had to basically remove the entire dashboard to perform the repairs. When I got my car back it looked like nothing had been done to it on the inside, it was perfectly clean, no damage to any part of the dashboard. Most importantly, the air conditioner has been working for over a year now. I received expert service at a price that was 40% cheaper than the closest competitor. Cant recommend these guys enough!

I repair electronics for a living. I understand not wanting to give concrete price quotes or estimates over the phone but when someone has to tow their car to them to get estimates it might not be an option. I was interupted over the phone about not giving me a price. When I tried to explain I just needed a rough estimate they explained over and over Ill compare prices to a written estimate in person or that I can bring it in for a testing then given a price. I then asked if he would give his rough estimate on how much they might charge per hour for labor he Interupted me again and explained hes not giving me any kind of prices over the phone. all I needed was a rough price for labor per hour and I could do the math myself. Everything is online every repair is online you can see what the average time is and multiply that by part cost and you have your price! How hard is that and why couldnt that happen over the phone?I will not bring my car here I dont care if they will be the cheapest. To not be upfront about what you charge per hour or what a average price might be for (a part that we all know the price of) and installing that part is not the right way to do things. Makes you sound shady.

I took my car here one time before and they did an ok job except they kept the car for a week and didnt communicate with me, and let me know they couldnt find an issue. I had to keep calling and they actually never found the problem. Then when I got my car back home I noticed the front bumper had been damaged. I stupidly took my car back here once again in the future and after checking it, they wanted to charge me $1000 to replace the fuel pump and when I decided to take it somewhere else, I still had to pay $200 in diagnostic/towing fees. It just left a bad taste in my mouth and I will never take another vehicle here again. I dont recommend this shop.

I purchased a 69 Camaro convertible in South Carolina with the intention of driving it back to Canada. The rear shock had separated from the upper mount. The shock was leaning and scraping this inner aluminum mags. We were towed to Maces Garage, where I met Jeff Mace. Although we arrived unscheduled and in a hurry, Jeff and his mechanic managed to solve our problem through fabrication of the original bent part.Though we were behind our planned schedule we never had another issued with the shock mount.I commend Jeff and his mechanic for finding a solution to our emergency situation and getting us back on the road and eventually home to British Columbia.If we didnt break down, I would have never met him and Im glad we did.Randall Wong

I bought a new (to me) 2013 Nissan Altima back in the late summer. It’s a great little new car that only 24,000 miles on it. It looked brand new practically, however it had been in a wreck and repair, so I got a decent deal on it…and although it was a PRE-CERTIFIED car with 7 year warranty on the engine and drive-train, it did not cover any more of the traditional issues a car might encounter that was 3 years old…and in my case an electrical issue.Shortly after purchasing the car…I noticed the windows would roll down by themselves. Strange, and the LOCAL dealer suggested it might be due to the intelli-key remotes and that I might consider replacing one or both of them (at $300 each)…and I told them that I would WAIT on that fix for now. Jeff went through the possibilities logistically and most cost effectively...needless to say, he fixed the issue the very first try.OK, so it’s a success story. No big deal right. But there’s much more to a car repair than just the work. Jeff was in CONSTANT touch with me. When he said he would call…he did! When he explained the repair…he did! When he gave me an estimate on repair costs…they were RIGHT! The really cool thing was that Jeff systematically went through the system, through a series of deductions selected the least costly, but also the MOST LIKELY culprit for my issue. Customer service was OUTSTANDING! He WILL BE my only mechanic that I use from now on…yes, it’s inconvenient to drive 40 miles to Conway for repairs, but if you’ve ever had a bad mechanic, then you’ll understand how WORTH IT IS to have someone that is pleasant, reasonable, NICE and informative to do the work on your car. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Mace’s Garage for all of your mechanical car needs and repair work. Thank you Jeff at Mace’s Garage!! You are DA’ MAN!!

I was really in trouble when my Town and Country van decided to run a while then quit. No pattern for its failure, It would run days or weeks then all of a sudden would not go. These guys stuck with this intermittent problem and found the cure was an intermittent soft failure in the ecm. Engine control module. As an electrical engineer that has worked over 40 years in industry, I cant say enough about how difficult a ghost problem can be. The mechanics at Maces stayed the course methodically checking off each potential failure point until the beast rared its ugly head at the right moment.The bottom line is that my van is fixed only due to the dedication of these guys to find the real cause and fix it. Thanks. In a time when so many people could care less about the customer, it is really wonderful to find those that really do put the customer first.
