Fantastic counselors. Staff is very friendly and nice. It really is very peaceful out here on peaceful lane. A few farm animals to watch as your waiting.Edit: October 2020 - Management has changed. Only one goat and one pig left. No other animals anymore. Things are a little different. Office seems to be a little out of sorts.
The staff is always friendly and respectful!! I highly recommend this place very calming in nature just all around friendly services!!
I began taking my youngest child here after the death of his father as painful as that experience was, I credit the skilled care of Sylvia Moreno, LPC. She really helped my child to manage his bereavement in a healthy way.The setting is unconventional, being a large home converted into several therapy areas, with different homey/casual environments. Sage also features therapeutic animal interactions, including both indoor (cats and dogs) and the outside farmyard animals, like horses and chickens. Some things to know, there are animals do roam the rooms and hallways. If youre allergic I would suggest you avoid this location. The staff keeps the environment immaculate however the cleaners and indoor fragrance can be a little much (admittedly I am a little sensitive to those things). Overall I would recommend for their level of professionalism and quality of care.
Not very user friendly at first but yes if u go there ur in the right place and it is very helpful.
What a wonderful place for Children. Thank you 💞!
Priccilla is rude. Is not well at explaining at all . And best of all she says it will take 24 to 48 hrs to verify insurance and takes more time than what she estimated. She does not sound like she has her priority in order or that she is organized at all. I just cant believe that she was so rude how she was . Too bad I didnt even get to have not one consult with anyone cus of her rudeness 🤷🏻♀️🤦♀️. Priscilla if you are not happy with your job, or if its too much for you please go find a new one you are costing that practice money and much more .
My first visit was a great experience. Very well constructive session. I never had to fill the silence. As someone who finds the presence of animals very therapeutic I feel this will be a great place for me to receive therapy. Melanie was very non judgmental and helpful. I look forward to future sessions!
Very peaceful setting, lovely ranch like facility. Staff is kind.
Ms. Hennis is awesome to work w/. If your soft hearted & get your feelings hurt easily toughen up buttercup. Ms. Hennis doesnt pull any punches. She is very fair & will always do whats best for you.
I have a great counselor.
While the animals there are nice, my therapist was a complete waste of time. Im an older man who has been to hell and back, however, my therapist was a young girl who just stared at me like a deer in headlights. She knew absolutely nothing about cultural references...almost like she was from another planet. Then she kept pushing dont worry..be happy on me. I felt like I was being counseled by a teenager. You could tell she came from privilege and couldnt understand my hardcore experiences in life, not to mention she never considered my inability to do certain things because Im already sick with ailments that no positivity would EVER help. I came to the conclusion though that therapy is NOT for everyone. Even for those people who have diagnosed mental illnesses. Also, they tried to charge me for my records. STAY AWAY. Especially the owner. Shes a mean spiteful witch.
This place has a non traditional setting which I feel is a lot more comfortable than other places. They allow interaction with their animals which I love because I find it relaxing and more like home. The counselors are dressed in a casual but professional way so I feel like I can open up easier since I do not feel scrutinized like other counselors
Because in some ways were like me animals that they rescue some of them a noun marriage unhealthy and you see within time of them getting better healthy just as we do us humans Ive learned a lot and Im very grateful for this the place
So we had our first counseling with the owner .. first of all, she didnt even introduce herself we had no idea if she was our counselor. she was very arrogant.. couldnt stay still .. didnt listen .. talk too fast .. didnt even get to know my son better and was convincing him of something we didnt believe in. after all what we really like was that she has animals for therapy thats all.
The owner is thinking outside the box here: counselling with a little twist. They have a farm with all sorts of animals, and use it as a form of animal therapy. It works great for kids and allows them to open up to the counselors in a relaxed environment.
I love their counseling services. It had really helped my grand daughter.
Absolutely reccommed anyone needing services to go here especially with children the animal therapy is perfect to help loosen up the kids great people and great services
I had a similar experience as @Adrianna Jefferson in that Melony is quite 2-faced and has no clue how to practice psychology. She insisted I was living my life wrong because I would put my friends and families well being at the same level if not above my own. She proceeded to preach what I believe is narcissism and deception. I had already made up my mind to no longer continuing services with them but then found out she had reported blatantly false and unauthorized info to a cps case worker. I would not recommend this place to my most hated nemesis. BEWARE & BE CAREFUL!!!
I absolutely love this place. I come here and I love to sweet service and the animals thats they have. Very recommend to anyone :)
I will not recommend! One counselor would only talk about her issues and ask us if we were still upset with CPS at every session for almost 2 months. She also turned her back the second we had a problem. She closed the case with us and told us that she couldnt help us anymore and gave the problem to someone else and just completely lied on the progress report that was handed to cps.BE CAREFUL WITH WHAT YOU TELL!!
I had a very bad experience with the manager of this place! After suffering the loss of my eldest son and being diagnosed in the past with complicated grieving, I turned to counseling right away. I was crying out for help not knowing if I could go on with one of my babies missing. Not only did she fail to diagnose me properly she has made a decision to cover herself and lie about how myself and my minor child were treated.. She is suppose to put the care of her patience first. I changed Doctors and counselors and finally found the right care. Since leaving Melanies care I was diagnosed with ptsd and being treated.
Small playground tower, sand underneath, little basketball court, they also have horse and pigs. Can do sessions outside.
Very friendly and warming environment make you feel like your family and also love animals
The therapist had unprofessional studentsvat the session who where at a bar talking about private session. Clear violation of HIPPA act.
Staff doesnt return calls. Place is so disorganized.Owner worse. She is all over the place. Made appointment with her ended up seeing interns. Thats not what I had wanted. I arrived on time for my appointment - I waited and waited - owner was standing around talking about dog and cat food with another counselor.
We saw three counselors here, and while the first two were ok/fine the third (owner Melanie) was ridiculous. She could not sit still, did not covey appropriate listening skills (she was practically reorganizing her office and not making eye contact when we were speaking) and could be quite curt with the kids. Her energy was very erratic and she really did not seem to care. She also cancelled a few of our sessions very last minute which was rather unprofessional and annoying (once I can see...3 times in a short period of time is not very reasonable). The shocker for me is that she is the owner/director of this place.Additionally, it was difficult to be set up with a counselor in the first place. It was over a week when no one called us back about potential counselor(s) that may fit our schedule. I recall having to call several times to finally connect with a counselor which was frustrating and not a good first impression.Otherwise, I liked the location and the fact that there are animals around (perhaps for therapy purposes) and when we were conversing with our first counselor there was a play area for the kids to enjoy while we had our session. I also liked that they offer sliding scale fees (per the website) but we only went here because they took our insurance at the time.
They have animal therapy which is great for kids.
My husband and I were searching for counseling (agreed court ordered through CPS). The entire case was dismissed. Prior to the dismissal, we chose SAGE hoping to get some useful information. Why not make this experience less stressful and more productive? Well, Melanie decided to bring about five interns to our in-home introductory session. Im like, ok. This is going to be fine. She did most of the talking. Less listening. Later at court, she even gave a testimony recalling things that we said. None of it was true. We told her our son had a vitamin D Deficiency, she said calcium or something. The whole court room stared at the ceiling (it was a conference call) and shook their head. She was all over the place. The second session, after it was called for dismissal....she revealed that she thought the case was against me, the wife. We were appalled that she, Melanie, didnt even have the courtesy to read our file. Bottom line. Little to no experience as a mother, NO listening whatsoever (she testified false information), and obviously she does not READ. Be prepared woman! Youre wasting taxpayer money! And if youre going to offer resourceful personal experiences----make sure theyre relatable.
The owner Melanie is very judgemental, insulting, makes false accusations, walks away when you are conversating, and was very closed minded. I wouldnt recommend this service for anybody. Their secretary was rude as well. The establishment was not clean either. Im disappointed in the owner because she used to be an educator and made recommendations for my child that werent beneficial to my child. Melanie was very negative.
I love the Hokey Pokey farm, Moses, the great pyrenees that greets me when i arrive, the ca (didnt get his name) who comforted me during my 1st session, and most of all, my counselor, Sandra Teniente,Lpc. Oh, and let me not forget the farm fresh eggs (from the happiest chickens on Earth, $5/dozen) that I bought.
Smells a bit but good staff.
Its cozy setting great views animals
Great place for helping children that have been abused
Lying prejudice psycho. More like a man hating battered womens shelter.
Very kind staff. Nice place to interact with animals.
The director is awful. Very judgemental when they are supposed to help people.
Very helpful staff.
So comforting and relaxing.
Love it
Set up is a little strange at first but like my therapist very much.
