Where do I even start... First, everyone I spoke to was extremely nice but that’s where the positives subside. I spent the last nearly 3 months trying to apply for financial aid for trade school, to begin they gave me a packet that I was told to fill out and provide all the documentation listed. Which I turned in, in person. This included the basics such as social security card, ID, paystubs, and a form explaining your work history, etc. Then I didn’t hear anything for a few weeks so I decided to call in and was told I was missing some papers I need to fill out, so they emailed them over and I turned them in right away. Then the silence came again. So I decided to call once again and was told I am missing some paystubs. Only two possible scenarios, either they lost them or I didn’t turn in a few, so that being said I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and say I didn’t turn them in. They then asked nicely for me to email the paystubs all over to them which I did immediately. I was told that was everything they needed and that my application was pending. Fast forward 2 weeks, I call them and they tell me it’s still marked as pending and there are no updates at this time. 2 weeks later once AGAIN, I call and am told it’s still pending and to contact the people directly handling the applications. I call and leave a voicemail, 2 days later I get a call and am told that my application is INVALID because it’s been over 40 days since I initially submitted it, and I need to submit my application again. So I do! I submitted my initial application in the middle of December and I started school in the middle of January. I ended up having to borrow money from friends and family to pay for the school and am no struggling to make the final 2 payments. They called me today and told me that since I had already started school they cannot back pay my school debt. So let me get this straight, I submit my application an entire month before school starts, and am told that it should take no more than 2 weeks for the application to be processed, then am told that since I already started school before they could “process” my application that was marked as “pending” for almost 3 months with no communication UNLESS I called in asked what the status was, and now they decide that my 2 applications are now entirely invalid. Super nice people, but HOLY SH*T is their communication and ability to handle applications with professionalism terrible.
Website hours show open. The automated phone line says open. Luckily I was persistent enough to get to an operator who (surprise surprise) informed me that they are closed. She was however happy to inform me of where I MIGHT be able to get some assistance (unlikely). . . If Walmart can adjust their pandemic hours across platforms I would expect an agency like workforce to be able to do the same.
Everyone at Workforce Solutions seems to be trained to be nice, polite, and patient when they take calls, professional, show empathy and also support their primary customers - the public! Please keep being good!
Seemed like it was closed but there was no note on the door with any information. I peeped through the darkened windows and saw a man and a woman eating at a desk. They looked up and saw me but did not acknowledge me. They just looked down at their food and kept on eating. I thought that was very rude. And there should have been a note on the door letting the public know when they would be open. Shame on them. I dont find TWC very helpful for job search.
Due to covid-19 the office is infact closed but they offer free wifi from their parking lot and if you call the main number they will have someone return your call rather quickly
Put a sign on the door if you are closed. Ridiculous!
They arent open and it says they are open. What am I missing? I just drove an hour and a half (closest one to where I live) and they are closed, no sign or anything.

They offer assistance but if you bring children with you, they are not prepared. This location could use a toy area for kids and come to you to assist you instead of having you go copy papers and fill out paperwork yourself, while hauling around your children. I went to the location in Huntsville with three children. My kids were able to play with toys whole I sat at a desk and they processed my paperwork. At the conroe location however, they had me taking the same paperwork and making copies of my already made copies and carrying my kids around going back and forth and acting as if I may not get help that Im applying for. The location in Huntsville is much better, conroe workforce solutions should strive to be more like their location.
They tell you one thing then when you come back they tell you something else. All the counselors tell you something different. You better hope you get the same one all the time...or have a crystal ball ahead of time. Too many inconsistencies which ends up being a lot of wasted time.

I noticed the white worker only helps white & spanish ppl. He always has a job for them and i overheard this white guy saying he was getting tanf benefits while working. When i go in there are no programs & no jobs. Ive been applying to jobs since December 2017! Nothing!! Nada!! I have a Bachelors Degree!! Whats the problem!! If America doesnt want to hire Negroes they should just say that & stop wasting my damn time. When white or spanish ppl go in they get assistance while unemployed but black job seekers get nothing!! & we are left on our own. What services do they provide?
I was the first person and I had to wait for over 30min to be call and when I was waiting all the people were just sitting talk to each other about what they did last night

Worksource penalized me for a month for not coming in to do job search which Im exempt from and then I went in to ask them for help getting clothes for a job and they turned me down yall penalized me for not coming in looking for a job but wouldnt help me get materials I needed to get a job I got on my own time
A waste of time when I could be looking for jobs that are actually above our crappy min wage.
