We’ve had a wonderful experience working with Caloway Construction through the years. Steve has done several remodeling projects and repairs on our home. From a major kitchen remodel, master bathroom remodel, installed wood flooring and built an attached garage on our home. He is an artist with attention to detail; you will not be disappointed! Steve made style and design suggestions that fit our personal taste and stayed within our budget! Definitely a 5 star - I recommend to everyone who is looking to remodel big or small projects.

Having done extensive remodeling to three different homes over the last five-years, I can say I know the agony and joy, of such a venture. Steve and his company Caloway Construction remodeled one of my homes that had been flooded inside and out. I dont have to tell those who have gone through such an extensive journey, how frustrating things can get, both literally and professionally, Steve and his team addressed any concerns I had immediately eliminating any heartaches. It’s nice to hire a company that can do it all. Caloway Construction completed the job in a timely manner. The quality was as Steve promised when he said, I will treat your home as if it were mine. The promise was kept. Steve is immersed in the ideals of delivering first-class customer service. The response from friends and family are, WOW. Caloway Construction did a complete remodel on my father’s master bathroom. It was a challenging task with lots of obstacles (1960’s style). Caloway Construction was recommend through a co-worker who assured me I could count on Steve and his team to always be honest and do the right thing. Which has proven to be true…. Had a fairly major balcony reconstruction that was necessary. Steve and his crew came highly recommended from a family member whose house they had remodeled and done beautiful work on. They did a fantastic job on our balcony, gave various pricing options and were always timely and responsive. I would recommend Steve and Caloway Construction to anyone needing work done. Mr. Caloway and his skilled team of workers did a fantastic job on my room edition to our home. From the wood floors, beautiful bay window, paint and all the rest, it was a great experience and I would recommend anyone to Caloway Construction. Hands down experience and quality work.

My father passed away in the summer of 2016. His home was built in 1977 and was in very poor shape. I hired Steve to fix the house up, basically flip it I could get it on the market. He and his crew completely exceeded my expectations! The house looks modern inside and out. Steve worked right along with his crew, all of which were highly knowledgeable in flooring, sheet rock repair, electrical, paint and other special processes. They even moved some furniture from a relatives house to my dads house once they were done! Amazing work, on time every day, non-intrusive, polite and courteous. Professionals all the way! Steve took the time to inspect all the work, every last detail to my satisfaction.Steve was honest with me from the very beginning and he not only did the work but did it under my budget and finished long before I expected. When I first saw this house, after years of being away, my initial inclination was to tear it down. Im so glad I didnt!

Steve and his excellent crew arrived early on Monday morning to demolish a pump house, garden shed and attend to roof repairs on my house and garage. They rebuilt the pump house, garden shed and performed proper repairs to my roof to correct shoddy workmanship by a previous contractor.All of this was done in a timely, professional manner over the course of the next six days. I can personally appreciate how difficult it is to find a contractor with both skill and business acumen. Steve is just such an individual. His estimate was fair and it was quite honestly, a pleasure to write him a check for his work. Steve is a working supervisor. By that I mean that he doesnt just direct his crew, he works alongside them all day, every day thereby assuring that all of the work is performed to his personal standards. I really cant say enough good things about him.He does have one characteristic which far too many people today would label as a serious character flaw. Hes totally honest. You can trust Steve with your project and you will be pleased with the results from start to finish. Thank you Steve for a great experience with your fine company.

Once more what a wonderful experience! The crew as well as Mr. Caloway were extremely friendly like always, they truly make every experience one to remember. Steve worked on our home after it flooded during harvey. He took twice as long as stated and rushed at the end. His employees are not skilled and not supervised. There were many problems with the painting and construction that I had to fix and am still fixing to this day. He is a very nice person to work with but the job was not complete to my satisfaction.

Drywall sub did very shoddy work on texturing and painting. Does not have people who know what they are doing and does not supervise them. I was left with a disaster that I am going to have to hire a real drywall company to come in and fix.

It is always disappointing to have to write a negative review. I have worked with many many contractors for every kind of home project you can imagine, so my threshold for pain is high.We needed a kitchen renovation for our lake house ... island counter, sink, pendant lights, the usual. Steve Caloway (owner) came out mid Dec and took measurements. We chose him because his website showed many photos of kitchen re-dos. He came out in mid-Dec. Nice visit. We were told to purchase what we wanted and he would put it in...no problem. I told him we would be in town first week of Jan and would select granite and make all necessary purchases. Once in town, I made multiple attempts to contact him and got a complete brush off. Once he finally answered texts, he told me where to go and find granite and I tried to find a time to talk to him or meet him back at the house. He said he would come out to the house and meet us.. which he then abruptly cancelled with no reason. He had given us the name of a granite company he uses, and we ran all over town to get everything we needed. Even sent him a photo of the granite we found. Response? Crickets. My sister (who lives in the house) even texted him to try and get him to engage. He kept telling me he would get with her.. and finally told her he was waiting on a quote from his carpenter... a month later???? Its ok if you dont want our business (too small a project?) or dont NEED our business, but it is absolutely POOR business to brush off customers who are just trying to get a job done. He could have at least told us if he couldnt get to us for awhile or SOMETHING. ANYTHING. Just left us hanging and wondering. The good news is we went to Kitchen Solutions and they accomplished in five days what Steve Caloway couldnt seem to accomplish in five weeks. They were proactive in their communication, professional in their assessment, had expert knowledge about the process, and even saved us money by making suggestions to keep the current island. They even called the place for granite Caloway had sent me to and told me why I wouldnt be able to use that selection. They are amazing. And THEY value my time and appreciate getting my business. We will have a new kitchen in the time we are (STILL) waiting for Caloway to even call us back. I dodged a bullet on this one. I am so confident we will have a beautiful kitchen. If Caloways communication defines his work -- I would have been in trouble. While we have all experienced poor customer service, leaving someone hanging is completely unacceptable... busy or not. That is just NOT how you treat people.
