Very bad communication on their part. It’s pretty messed up that they won’t let you in after you already arrived ready to go and then tell you, you need a parent. Some parents work late nights and aren’t gonna take off to sign their kid into the gym a gym where we just wanna have fun and benefit ourself but y’all’s communication was awful.

If you need a change of pace or a full on flip of direction in your life, I recommend Angelo Bannister as your personal trainer. He’s more than a personal trainer, but a friend, someone who listens, someone who pushes you, encourages you, cares for your health, and makes the change in your life happen despite your weaknesses. You should definitely ask for him at the desk and also join CrossFit. Sure, personal training and CrossFit is a major financial commitment, but you commit money to cars, homes, jewelry, etc. Fitness and knowledge are the two things in life no one can take away from you. You would not believe the self confidence boost Angelo provided me, you would not believe the humongous impact Angelo and the Sportscenter has made on my life. If you are scared, helpless, have low self confidence, join the team. We have all been there and this place is a gift from God above to help us reach our fullest potential. Don’t be intimidated, come join today! It may be scary or intimidating at first but, everyone belongs and we all strive to make each other better! It will change your life for the better!!!

Tried to join here as they seem to have all the amenities that I look for in a gym, but unfortunately I will only be in the area for 4 months and they refuse to budge on their one year contract requirements. Not sure why any business would turn away revenue these days, but i guess. I dont see how they could lose as they would still get their up front registration fees.

Every singe person that works here is friendly & helpful. The facility is always clean & organized. All the equipment is in great shape or brand new. I see Angelo twice a week for personal training and he is great to train with. He know what I need to hit my goals and he keeps me motivated.

I absolutely love the Sportscenter. The coaches are awesome and they always push me to do my best! Thanks to the coaches and bootcamp classes, I have lost 35lbs so far.🤩 I couldn’t ask for a better environment to work out in. The staff in child care are also amazing! My daughter looks forward to going in there and she loves it! Everyone I’ve come in contact with has been so friendly. Keep up the great work!😁👍

Having been a member since 1986, the Sportscenter Fitness and Athletic Club has continuously provided the best possible environment to stay healthy and have fun. The facilities are awesome and provide you with whatever you need to accomplish your fitness or athletic goals. The very friendly management truly cares about its members and is constantly looking for ways to make a great place even better. If you are shopping for a fitness and athletic club, look no further. YOU HAVE FOUND IT!

Just left trying to figure out this place or YMCA. The lady was rude. She couldnt answer any questions, wouldnt let me look around to see the gym. Damn, if youre unable to provide customer service then give me a pamphlet. Its January, the peak of gym memberships but I read the reviews. Looks like my money isnt welcomed.

The fact that they would open up against the executive order and more importantly putting lives at risk for a gym is simply mind boggling. There are plenty of other places you can go when they open up, so Id suggest people change where their health club and not go here any longer as the owners clearly care more about your money than your health.

I love going to the Sportscenter is so peaceful and calm environment I love doing my work out there, my kids love it as well they have of everything you need for a complete work out and fun time with your family

Absolutely love this place! Best gym we have joined. Go to the pool frequently. Also, use the cardio deck and zumba classes. Glad they took a stand against the craziness that Gov. Cooper has been putting out. If you don’t feel safe, cancel your membership and let the people that do still show up.

Nice and clean, pool and sauna areas are maintained very well, was able to walk right in scan my phone and head Strait to the equipment upstairs. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Hopefully make my next visit soon.

The best gym for the cost hands down. I signed up for this gym with my fiance a few months back. We go roughly 5 times a week and heavily use the pool, sauna, weight room, racquetball courts and tennis courts. This gym has everything you want in a very warm and welcoming environment. Whether youre single, or have a family, this gym will have everything you need to get a great workout in and keep yourself in optimum health! I will be a member for as long as I live in Concord!

I have been a member of the sports facility, gym, and boot camp classes for two and half years. These guys are more than a gym, they become part of your fitness life and care about your success. I have enjoyed working out and made many friends there. The coaching staff, especially D’Angelo, Josh and Doc Kline are exceptional coaches and human beings.

Awesome and clean facility. This is best place in the area that provides all the fitness and health tools to assist in my journey. Not only is it a gym, but the sense of community and friendship that come along with this gym is one of a kind.

Not only does this gym have everything you could need and more, it’s like a family. Everyone’s very helpful and smiling, both workers and members. It’s a great family gym including childcare services.

Our family enjoys every visit, we commonly go to the pool over the summer and they keep the pools maintained and cleans commonly. Would recommend purchasing a membership.

Everyone is super nice and helpful! Group classes are on point and personal training is reasonably priced with fun and energetic trainers. Family friendly atmosphere and I love the indoor pool to swim year round! Outdoor pool has a splash pad great for those who dont swim but enjoy the water. Been a member for not quite a year and my family and I have thoroughly enjoyed our time by the pool and working out!

Let me start off by saying Sports Center has a large variety of activities to offer. However, it seems to be an issue when you’re people of COLOR, who’s trying to experience all of which Sports Center has to offer EQUALLY. One of the reasons why I chose to become a member here is because they offered daycare service while using amenities and swim lessons.While taking the proper steps to dropping my child off at their on-site daycare to exercised on the treadmill, there was an unnecessary issue brought to my attention by the daycares director. Once I picked my child up (who is well mannered by the way) there was another unnecessary issue and by this it was coming off as discrimination. As a solution, I brought awareness to the front desk. Then once it happened the second time, I figured I would just bring my child with me out on to the floor to avoid any unnecessary attention to my child and I. As it began to warm up outside I decided to sign my child up for swim lessons. After trying to get in touch with 4-5 swim coaches and leaving them all messages, only one had gotten back in touch with me. His first 30 minutes session went great! During his second lesson, his swim coach started 5 minutes late and ended 7 minutes early. By the third session, we arrived on time and my child’s spot had been taken. Then I was asked if I could wait 30 minutes after the time that I had already reserved and confirmed by email for his turn, without any explanations, or accommodations. As a black woman, my family’s overall experience with Sports Center has been humiliating, belittling, unappreciated and unaccepting.

This place will make you into a sexual tyrannosaurus! Rumor has it the pools were filled using the smallest drop of Chuck Norris sweat. This place has it all. Gym equipment, Crossfit, that thing were everyone stretches. Typing doesnt do this place justice! This place deserves a heavy metal intro and an American Eagle soaring overhead!

A lot of this club is nice, unfortunately for my one time visit, the main reason I went wasnt that great. There are nice workout areas, split between cardio and strength training. Multiple racquetball courts and tons of tennis courts which looked nice and an outdoor pool. However, the indoor pool was NOT as nice as I expected it to be. It was only 4 lanes and was really run down and dingy and slightly over chlorinated. As I was in town for one overnight and looking for a place to swim, I was excited to try it, but for the $20 entry fee and a pool that left some to be desired, I was disappointed. I get the fee for people who want to use classes and a lot of stuff, but I think they should be more friendly to short term use needs with less cost and also update the indoor pool. Id try another aquatic center in the area before I went back here. But if I was looking for classes or the gym, I would use this center.

Full work out available. Jacuzzi, warm pool, excellent equipment, basketball, cycling glasses, smoothie bar. You name it, they got it!

I began taking a few swim and stroke development lessons here in preparation for a triathlon. Toward the end of my training I decided to sign up in order to continue working on my swimming. Im primarily a runner and have been working toward a marathon so this place was the best value for just the swimming access. I looked into some other places that were priced the same or more solely for pool access. To top it off there is a roughly half mile loop outside to run and of course treadmills if my wife is on ours at home.Fast forward about a month and I came to terms with the fact I have a stress fracture in my foot and have been forced to stay off the running for a while. Its been a boon that I have my membership here. I have some equipment at home but it would get old fast.This place ticks off all the boxes for me. All of the group classes are included. I hit up spin classes almost every evening and make use of the studio even when there are no scheduled classes. The group atmosphere is great for me to feel a little accountable and have taken the place of my running groups for the time. Ive tried out a few other classes and theyve all been great as well. They have body pump, cardio blast, Barre, water aerobics, zumba, yoga, plates, and more. The instructors are all friendly and personable. They always have time to chat and give help. I also mix in a little strength training and swimming after a spin. They have tons of equipment for anything you would ever want. Lots of free weights and machines make it where you rarely have to wait on anything as the exercises from machines and free weights can be redundant. With both an indoor and an outdoor pool Im guaranteed to be able to swim year-round. There are a multitude of different cardio machines upstairs that virtually guarantees there will always be something available to use. There is also a small free weight area there.The locker room has 8 or 10 showers in the mens. Plenty of lockers and one only needs bring a key. Towel service is included. There are even a couple of blow dryers and a scale in there. Its very convenient to shower rather than having to wait to go home.There are a plethora of other amenities I dont make use of. Some are extra others are included. There are a number of tennis, basketball, beach volleyball, and racquetball courts all on-site. There is childcare available if you have children. There is a massage service, and a meal prep service on site as well. For those looking for cross fit or Evo fit they have that too at an additional cost above base membership. I dont do either but Im told that the cost is reasonable considering all of the other benefits. They have a coffee and nutrition bar on-site as well in the lounge area. They offer a free fitness assessment to new members that gives one a lot of different metrics including body fat percentage, muscle mass, etc. Personal training is also included.The place is clean and all of the staff are super friendly. There has never been a time where I have been there that Im not cheerfully greeted as I come and go. Nor have I ever been that someone wasnt wandering around cleaning the whole time.I also really like the app. They communicate any schedule changes or other issues very well through the app. I can also find classes quickly. I also accrue points for doing normal stuff like checking in and completing workouts I will be able to use for drinks or merchandise if I so choose.All in all I really dont have anything all that negative to say. There is always room for improvement, but nothing worthwhile and all that constructive.

Like everything in life, you get what you pay for! Being serious about my fitness I cant afford to not have what I need to train for my races, stay healthy, and keep a year round beach bod. Try the Sportscenter out if you havent yet.

Ive been going to the Sportscenter for three months now. The last three months have been incredible. On the measurable side of things, I have lost twenty pounds and a couple of notches of my belt. On the less measurable side of things, I have noticed an increase in my ability to move, stand for longer periods of time, and get through more of the workout (I’m doing CrossFit). I have more energy throughout the day, and I’m more motivated to get up and do things throughout the day. Joshua Swart has been great. He’s really helped encourage me to continue through this massive change in my life: exercising regularly and changing my eating habits. I’m not sure I would have made it this far without him and the other CrossFit coaches, as well as the culture that is being cultivated in that group. The Sportscenter and CrossFit Cabarrus are changing my life!
