Heavily recruited for a job the employer was in worse financial shape and ended up being laid off due to a huge budget shortfall.
Awful company to work for. Youll work very hard, waste hours of your time and spend your own money to complete a project for them. Then 2 weeks later, theyll contact you and tell you your shop was declined, even if your report was filled out perfectly! Even if all your receipts were uploaded and everything was great. Then they contact you to tell you something is missing... but obviously it couldnt have been missing if its required to submit the report! They lose things, then they get out of paying people. Im contacting their client to let them know I wasnt paid for assessing their establishment, and see if theyll be kind enough to reimburse me. Too many bad experiences with this company. So many better mystery shopping companies out there who actually pay their contractors very well... stay away from goodwin hospitality scam! Theyre reviews online say it all! Any client who signs a contract with them should seriously consider a more reputable option!
BEWARE SHOPPERS! I am an experienced shopper and have dealt with many mystery shopping companies in my career. I have successfully completed shops for a Goodwin Associates for several years. In the past year (2015)they have changed their reporting system to a third party. Since making this change Goodwin and Associates has become irresponsible and very unprofessional. My most recent shop was declined because of a system error and rather than discussing the issue with me they simply reassigned the shop to another shopper. This is not an issue that I had knowledge of previously, that I could control in any way, or that they had done anything at all to make me aware of. Instead they are choosing to cheat me out of my time and my shopper payment, which is a reimbursement for perishable food items that I had to purchase for the shop. The third party that is it in charge of the website sees no problem with my report and cannot explain why it was declined. Unfortunately the third party has no control in seeing that I get paid either. Convenient? All I can say is that this will be the last time I will entrust my time and my money to be cheated by Goodwin and Associates. There are numerous reputable companies looking for good workers. Protect yourself by only working for good companies that pay their shoppers fairly. Goodwin and associates is not that kind of company. Ive contacted both the Better Business Bureau and the New Hampshire labor board to discuss my experience further. I want to make sure than other shoppers are treated as poorly as I have been.
I would give 0 stars, however that is not an option.I am an experience shopper and have built relationships with some very accommodating and professional shop contracting agencies. Goodwin & Associates is like an evil apartment leasing agency, you know those ones who want to cheat all of their tenants out of their security deposit and will schedule open houses without notice before your lease is up? Ya, thats the analogy I would draw to Goodwin for the shopping community.I had completed a shop on time, began filling out an evaluation, yet upon submitting the information for the shop I had recently completed, it was cancelled on me. Apparently I had gone over the 24 hour evaluation period, yet there was no explicit warning suggesting this assignment would be overdue. I email Randi (shop manager) about the issue and even receipt evidence of my shop completion on time! I was met with brief and condescending responses. No appreciation or understanding for the work I had done.I will not do anymore work for this company.
Do not do business with Goodwin Hospitality. They do not treat their secret shoppers with respect and have a lack of transparency when it comes to deadlines and expectations. They are slow to pay but fast to reject completed shops for missing deadlines that are not readily outlined when accepting a shop. (ie. Buried in the fine print) I attempted to submit my completed show within 48 hours of completion of the shop but it was still rejected even though a deadline was not assigned to the shop in the notes.
I was declined payment of $283 for a dinner cruise because I followed the instructions for the dinner cruise. yeah sounds crazy right! I was told I didnt purchase a cocktail. Here is a copy/paste of the dinner instructions: *If this is a DINNER CRUISE – YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE YOUR WINE FROM THE SERVER, AND YOUR BEER FROM THE BAR. WINE IS TO BE PURCHASED FROM THE SERVER DURING YOUR MEAL AND BEER IS TO BE PURCHASED FROM THE BAR BEFORE OR AFTER YOUR MEAL. YOU WILL PURCHASE 1 DRINK AT ALL ADDITIONAL OPEN BAR.As you can see it states in the last sentence 1 DRINK...The Client Manager is stating I did not order a cocktail. If thats what they wanted, it should have been clearly written that way. They expect you to write a clear detailed report but they cant do that for their instructions.I called and emailed a response and of course she is ignoring me. I will continue to post 1 star reviews everywhere. Im out $283 and over 7 hours of my time for that boring cruise.
Goodwin Hospitality are scammers. They have no respect for their contractors unlike other mystery shopping companies. They expect you to spend 4-6 hours working on a project for them, waste your own money and your own gas to complete the project and then they refuse to reimburse you or pay you based on a small discrepancy in the lengthy report you were required to fill out. The reports are filed electronically and sometimes they freeze or cause problems. There are so many better companies out there that operate ethically. The pay is also, on average, much lower than other companies. So more risk... less reward. Horrible.Goodwin will just come back and say, oh well we have quality standards that each shopper agrees to... But they take 10 days to review your shop, and then create a discrepancy, and literally give you less than 24 hours to reply or clarify... but theyve already decided to decline your shop anyway.Im with several other mystery shopping companies and they have EXCELLENT standards for their clients... however they NEVER, I repeat NEVER scam a person out of money for work performed for them. They would take initiative to work on a solution and ensure both client and shopper are treated fairly. GOODWIN HOSPITALITY does NOT treat their shoppers fairly. They have several complaints all over the internet, so I wasnt the only one who was scammed by them. Im going to be reporting them to as many authorities as I can. SCAM ALERT!
Iam a mystery shopper for them. They offer good pay, are easy to work with, and pay in a reasonable amount of time. IF you run into a problem they are there to assist. The scheduler I have worked the most with (Caitlyn) is excellent
The only reason they are getting one star was because it is required in order to post a review. Terrible, Terrible!Okay, the first time it happen, I contributed it to my online service, but a second time, poor system and an expensive waste of time. I had been a mystery shopper for friends in business since 1995.An owner is more likely to pay you versus a company such as Goodwin & Associates. They will not reimburse, pay or honor their contract.
Horrible experience. They lied to me and cheated me out of a couple of hundred dollars!! I even spoke with the owner who clearly doesnt understand that as the head goes so goes the rest of the body. We all reap what we sow though so its only a matter of time
Do not accept shops from Goodwin. I have been a secret shopper for 3 1/2 years and nobody has ever treated me so poorly. They changed the shop instructions after I had already accepted the shop and then refused to pay out because the instructions had not been met. The change in instructions required me to get a shave at a barber which cost more than the reimbursement and payment combined.
I have only had good experiences with this company.
They are terrible you spend all your money and time on there shops and they dont want to pay you.. Con artist..I would use anyone but them crooks.
Absolutely terrible recruiter, out of this world.. too bad i cant put zero star...
The worst mystery shop company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. They lie and never pay you and make up reasons to discredit all the work youve done and leave you hanging without a reimbursement. Youve all been warned!
Terrible, scam, they just take free work and never reimburse. You were warned!
This company is bull. They are a complete scam and probably have there own people write into their reviews to make them positive but its all a debt scam
Such a scam.
