Took my laptop to Commack Computer Repair after a sudden inability to access my data - in a matter of minutes, they were able to tell me what was the problem, what were the necessary next steps and the cost associated. The owner worked diligently to make sure I would be able to pick up my laptop by the end of the next day, even if it meant working on it after-hours. Ive gone to Natan three times for computer servicing and two out of the three have not been good experiences.After the first go-round, I posted a none-too flattering review. He implored me to take it down if he could try again and make things right. I agreed. He corrected the issue and I took down the review.The second time was with a Mac computer and that experience was flawless.This time, however, I asked him to install a new hard drive and mirror my old drive onto it. When I picked up the computer, I was shocked to discover that this had not been done. Instead, he decided to install Windows 10 on the new drive and left it at that.Thats fine with most folks, but I needed the drive mirrored for one specific reason: I have 17 years worth of emails on an eight year old mail program that hadnt been exported before he removed the old one. By mirroring, I could access the old mail program and the emails.To add insult to injury, even his Windows 10 installation was faulty.Worst of all, with the help of my contacts at Microsofts corporate office, Ive worked for many hours with one of their top techs in an attempt to fix what Natan did to my computer. Ultimately, it became clear that the only resolution would be to see if I could find another local tech who could do exactly what I originally asked Natan to do.Long story short, Natan gave me three different and false reasons why he couldnt do what was asked of him. His assumption is that hes smarter than everyone else and no one can see through his stories. When I asked one last time for him to mirror my old drive, he became highly agitated and defensive... and then hung up on me. One only gets defensive if theyve done something wrong.Today I brought my computer to another technician who easily mirrored the old drive, and now the computer works fine.$300 wasted working with Commack Computer.Further -- and make of this what you will -- at the exact moment I gave Natan my Microsoft account information, all of my passwords associated with that account were mysteriously made public in what Google warned me was a data breach. In addition to all of the other hurdles Ive had since bringing my computer to Natan, I spent an entire weekend changing hundreds of passwords.And for anyone who has ever had their computer serviced at Commack Computer, I highly suggest you check your Printers and Devices tab. If you find a device loaded -- as I did -- labeled Natan Net, delete it immediately.You can be sure I wont return to Natans store, nor do I recommend his services.

So i had a computer that broke in 2015 around and i tried several things to fix it and kinda gave up. A little less than a year ago I decided to try and make another attempt at fixing it to no avail. But i still wanted to play PC Games and stuff so i decided to take it to a computer guy. Nathan turned out not to be a computer guy, but THE computer guy. Man is polite, helpful and a pretty cool guy. He fixed several problems with my pc and i went home elated to play games again, only for it to break in a different, but similar way again. took it back to him and he suggested buying a new GPU. I expressed concern that i already spent a pretty penny trying to fix it and that i didnt want to spend more money on a new gpu and run into another problem. My thoughts were i would just buy/build a new pc. But he was adamant and even went so far as for him to give me his old video card which wasnt a high end gaming card, but serviceable enough to use the computer relentlessly at home to see if his hunch was right. It was. I bought a new card had him install at at no extra charge (thanks again BTW) and have been gaming with minimal problems since. I have decided to build a new computer soon and donate my old one to my brother. And you can bet your butt im going to natan first and see what ideas he got

I contacted Natan and explained the problem I was having with my 2015 MacBook Pro. He provided his theory on what was going on and explained the remedy to the problem. Great service! We mentioned that the request to have our laptop fixed was somewhat urgent, he let us know that he will do his best even though he had to send it to an outside vendor for soldering. We expected the worst but had our laptop back and fixed within 4 days (including shipping to NYC)! We couldn’t be happier. He also provided an accurate estimate to the cost of repair.

I wish there were an option for more than five stars because I can’t rate this place high enough! If you need any help related to computers, this is the place to go. Natan was phenomenal and went out of his way to help us, even going back to work late on a Saturday night and again on Sunday morning (Fathers Day no less!) to get our computer back to us ASAP, which meant so much because my wife is working from home and needed it for Monday morning. Our problem was that we were unable to transfer data from a very old IMac to a new one we just purchased. We made three calls to Apple support and two to Seagate and no one could figure it out and help us. Natan solved our issue in a matter of hours. I highly recommend him. My computer fan was broken. I brought it in thinking that was the problem and he showed me how to tell sooner for the future. He also did not have a fan for my computer but taking my fan and a brand new fan he was able to make a fan for my computer which has been working fine. I had a random weekday off work that day and if I wasn’t able to get it fixed that day I don’t know how long it would of been till I had time to go in again. I’m so happy he was able to make a part to get me out thst day and I didn’t even tell him to he just said let me try something to help you out sooner.

I took my virtually dead HP laptop to Commack Computer, fully expecting it to be relegated to the expired pile. Natan gave me an honest assessment that, due to its age, it may never work again and if so he wouldn’t charge me.Normally I might not have gone further but this laptop had sentimental value to me. So even as a paperweight I know I would have kept it.Well here we are a few days later and my HP laptop is back up and running beautifully. Natan repaired my almost 5 year old malfunctioning desktop.A digital hard drive was added along with a new video card.My corrupted operating system was reinstalled and now mycomputer is working better than ever with a lot more storage.I found Natan to be friendly, knowledgeable and charged reasonable rates.The only con I have is that his store is right next to Dunkin Donuts and I cantget out of the parking lot without consuming 900+ calories.

My wife laptop (3 years old, good specifications) start doing crazy things. looking by reviews we brought it to some guy in Selden, who was really sweet & friendly, but bad professional. After the third time he made another crazy diagnosis, we took it to Nathan, even though it was far (we live In Mastic Beach). He heard my wife story, - and just by her story immediately said: its not a virus, but the hard drive. We left the store, after 2 days it was ready - work like new - and for a good price! this guy is phenomenal!

Natan, is a skilled Computer Guy! Ive taken 2 machines there that another person told me to scrap. He brought one back from the grave and the other performed a clean sweep of hard drive and was able to give to nephew.

Came here based on very good reviews on Yelp. I must say I understand why the good words. I was greeted by Natan, the owner, with a welcoming smile, attitude and quick attention. He took my laptop and immediately started assessing the problem. He ended up spending a half an hour with me, concluding that it would not pay to fix the problem and Id be better off purchasing a new computer. When asked for the service charge, he said there was NONE!While I was there, two other customers came in. Brought in my laptop that was freezing up based on my buddies referral and Nathan was great. Diagnosed it quickly and now it runs like a bullet.

So I stopped by to drop off my nonworking laptop and no one was there! There was a note on the door out on a service call, please call. So I called and was told he would be back in 20 minutes. 20 minutes later he was there, turned on my computer and and diagnosed my laptop in less than 3 minutes. Bad hard drive. Fixed it in less than 48 hours and now I have a laptop that is running perfect. Unfortunately the hard drive was damaged so badly no data was able to be recovered.
