I am a life and safety vendor for Heatherwood. In my personal opinion, I genuinely enjoy dealing with Heatherwood. Shameena in particular. Every time we speak, I have found her pleasant, efficient, professional, and, most importantly, proactive.

I lived in the Hillcrest Village community for 7 years, and over that time period I watched the service rapidly decline. The maintenance staff didnt properly repair anything, including leaking roofs, leaking garage roofs, which ruined thousands of dollars of my belongings by means of mold, which had to be discarded. The company constantly removes services such as security, and raises the rent significantly annually. After witnessing the service decline, and watching the criminal element being allowed to move in, we decided to move out. We provided proper notice, and even scrubbed our apartment operating room clean, and shampooed the carpets upon our departure, which we returned the apartment to the Super in pristeen condition, and one week earlier than we had to. Now comes the good part, after waiting for over 6 weeks to get our security deposit returned, which Heatherwood states was mailed on August 13, and was lost in the mail I started calling to inquire as to the whereabouts of MY money. I was then told I had to wait an additional 1-2 weeks to have a replacement check sent, and when I inquired if I could stop by their main office to pick it up, rather than have it be mailed so it could be lost again, I was told flat out NO. So here I wait for the return of MY money which undoubetedly Heatherwood is gaining interest on, and my previous apartment has undoubetedly been rented, which Im certain they have their security money and rent for, I hold my hand on my butt waiting for the return of MY money. This is not a place to go if you have children, as there is a significant amout of witnessed drug dealings going on on a daily basis, Section 8 tenants, criminal activity, lack of security, amongst other issues. STAY FAR AWAY from any Heatherwood Property, as this type of activity goes on on all their properties. This activity has been reported many times over to NO avail. STAY AWAY< STAY FAR AWAY !!

I had a wonderful experience for the years I called Norwich Gate my home. Situated in the town of Oyster Bay, this complex was in a beautiful location and set back in a quiet area. Quiet was important to me when renting and Norwich delivered. Neighbors were friendly and the complex was kept clean and manicured. We had communal laundry which was very close to our apartment, and never had an issue with availability of washer /dryer units being available. Also, rent is very affordable for this area, and the units are kept up with updated appliances, like stainless steel. You are in a nice safe part of Nassau County here but still only 35-40 minutes from the city, which was another perk. The best part of Heatherwood overall was the maintenance, who know what they’re doing and are always professional. I never had to wait long at all for a response to a work order like other complexes I’ve lived at. They are quick and efficient and willing to help even for something minor. Heatherwood’s online portal for rent payments made for an efficient way to pay rent on time each month, something important to me with the busy nature of everyday life, I do not have time to mail in a check. I know they have tons of locations all over the Island too, which is an added benefit for anyone not looking in the Oyster Bay Area. When I did have to leave (which had nothing to do with the complex itself and was solely for personal reasons) I was sad to leave this home behind. I would definitely recommend Heatherwood to anyone who is looking to rent!

I moved into a brand new Heatherwood building a couple of months ago and so far so good. I havent lived in an apartment that was operated by a large luxury rental company before, so it did take me a little bit to figure out who/how I could reach out about certain inquiries/requests. But once I figured it out, the people Ive spoken with have been helpful and friendly. Keshia from the Management team has been so great -- very quick & super helpful in responding to my inquiries, so Im very appreciative of that. Having a call center line is convenient and helpful, too. Happy with the overall convenience and luxurious experience the Heatherwood property has been offering so far.

I was so scared I was not going to be able to keep my apartment when I retire this December and when I found out through my call to a very polite, professional woman in the main hone office that what I was looking at as my increase was true - I broke into tears. I really like it here! I love my neighbors and friends here, to which I have made many. The maintenance guys are so awesome, helpful, friendly and professional. They usually come within minutes of my call and are always helping to keep the grounds clean in between the landscapers coming each week. I lived in the Port Jefferson community for 5 years before buying a home and had a great experience. I would highly recommend Heatherwood.

Do no move here they raised my rent 164 extra dollars the second year...way to expensive

I moved in about 3 years ago and just renewed my lease. Ive had nothing but good experiences while Ive been here. From the beginning- looking at apartments and signing the lease- everything went smoothly and Kathleen (in the rental office, but I dont think shes there anymore) was very accommodating. She even let me look at an empty apartment twice in order to take pictures and make measurements. Its a lovely, quiet complex that is beautiful- surrounded by trees and very picturesque. Its my quiet little slice of heaven when I get home after a long day at work. In the winter, the maintenance staff is always on top of things with snow removal and worked into the wee hours plowing and shoveling. Ive had to call maintenance a few times for some repairs, mostly small things but one large one, and other than the one large job which required the replacement of a large appliance, the men came the next day and took care of everything. I like the fact that theres communication- Ive received memos (to all the tenants) slipped in the mailbox about snow removal, being careful with speed limits, not feeding the animals, road work being done....so its not like youre left unaware of whats going on. The apartment itself is lovely- it was sparkling clean when I moved in and the walls and floors are insulated enough that you dont hear their business and they dont hear yours. The only reason why I gave it a 4 star review instead of 5 is that the rent is on the high side. In my last apartment (not nearly as nice), the yearly increases were around $50 and here its $100, which gets kind of tough when your salary doesnt go up at the same rate. Not surprising for Long Island, but makes it hard to think about living here long term....which is sad, because I do love the place. But other than that, Id definitely recommend living here to anyone.

We have been living at 544 Union since the building opened, over 6 years ago. Originally, we rented a one bedroom and upon starting a family, we upgraded to a two bedroom. Our experience living here has exceed our expectations. The buildings maintenance staff is amazing, the concierge service is thoughtful and friendly and the supervisor goes above and beyond. During the several lease renewals, the management office has been amazing, understanding and welcoming. Our family definitely recommends this building to anyone interested in having a positive experience and great apartment.

I am going on my 4th year living at the 27 on 27th building and have had nothing but a great experience. Maintenance requests are usually taken care of within 4 hours, the doormen are all extremely nice and get to know the tenants and the apartments themselves are really nice. You can’t even hear your neighbors! Renewals are also easy and the management is very quick to respond.

Dont move here! If I could give this zero stars I sure would! The tenants call the cops on each other religiously. They said I couldnt bring my service dog in the laundry room. Then the Leasing manger Danny, for the bohemia complex is unprofessional. He made us sign a lease without showing us the apartment, and when we saw the apartment it was run down and just a mess. Danny claimed that the apartment was modern and up to date and had stainless steal appliance, however when we went into the apartment it was run down. There wasnt even a microwave in the apartment. He also let random people see the apartment that we signed the lease for stating I can show the apartment to whoever until the date you move in. Weve had enough of the lying and scamming so when we asked for a refund he said itll take a month to give it back . Bottom line is if you want to be scammed and lied to, then move in here if not then move here. Danny and heatherwood is the ultimate SCAM.

Ive been living in the Villas at Pine Hills for approximately 14 years & can honestly say that living here is truly, a one of a kind experience. The moment you enter the Villas, you will feel like more like a vacation getaway, rather than an apartment complex. The gated community, lush greenery & ponds, will give you an immediate sense of seclusion & safety. The center of the community provides a full PGA Golf Course & Pro Shop. The Villas provide tennis & volleyball courts, swimming pool, fishing ponds & playgrounds. The clubhouse offers a Restaurant & Bar, Pro Shop, workout facility & billiards. The surroundings, provide the perfect scenery for a daily walk or jog. The rental office department within the community will always be more than welcome to provide you with a tour of each individual model that the community has to offer. The maintenance office workers & maintenance department are extremely friendly & will do everything in their power to fulfill all maintenance requests. They are wonderful!!! The community is quiet & my neighbors make the community, a pleasurable living environment. Im proud to call the Villas at Pine Hills, my home.

I love living here at Norwich Gate.Everytime I have had to call the maintenance I have always be so pleased with the outcome.Last time I called it was an emergency on a Sunday..I had a stopped up sink in kitchen. It turned out to be much more difficult because they had to break through the wall to get to the pipes. I felt so bad to have to call the guys out on a Sunday. However Karl was his usual calm ad efficient selfHe is such a hard worker and is always so cheerful.He had to call in reinforcements the next day.He brought Ted to help him.He is another great worker. Nothing fazes him.He tackles every job so well, and he is always so cheerful .They make a great team.I cannot speak too highly of these two men.Also they called in Wes the Super another great guy..He obviously in total charge of everythingI think we must have the best maintenance team of any complex.Eventually everything was fixed, hole in the wall covered up and repainted.

If I could give 0 stars I would.. They are the biggest thieves. If you need to break your lease early, expect to be charged at least 5 months rent up front. They dont care about any of their tenants and dont accommodate with your financial situations to make it an easy process for you. OH and they also lie and make up their own terms regardless of what you signed in the contract so you end up having to pay more money out of your pocket just to leave. Wouldnt recommend this place to ANYONE. Live in someones illegal basement, you are better off.

From the leasing agent I dealt with to get my apartment, (I think her name was Nicole) to the People I’ve talked to. For putting in for maintenance requests. Everyone I have spoken with have been very nice. The superintendent and crew at my property lakeside village are top notch and always handle (if and when) I have any issues in such a timely matter.

I have lived in other communities (not Heatherwood), and it was a little scary. It seems like this company is always looking to improve and takes the tenant into consideration. We ended up having to move during the middle of the shutdown (May 15th), and Im so grateful for Jenn and the Heatherwood team for working with us so efficiently and safely in a matter of just two weeks. The grounds are always well kept, its relatively quiet even with kids outside playing, and our apartment is clean and spacious! I love that Raynor Park is right next door, and Lake Ronkonkoma is in sight when we walk our dog. I really just have two grievances: 1) Ive noticed that parking is a pain sometimes, especially if you come home in the evenings, and people do park on the curbs where theres no parking signs, and 2) it seems that, somehow, the marijuana smell from our neighbors ends up coming into our place. Not sure if thats a venting issue or what, and it doesnt bother us too much, but I just find it odd. Other than that, super thankful to have gotten in here!

Did a lot of shopping around & Heatherwood had everything we needed. My wife is handicapped so they gave us a ground floor 1BR, near the pool so I can supervise any aquatic physical therapy she might try.

Been living here for 7 years. Staff is great and responsive always. Pool, gym and tennis court a big plus.

Well-maintained property, super helpful on-site staff, spacious units with a garage is a huge plus!

Service lacking.

Sleazy leasing company. Dont live at any of their properties. I gave them a $400 deposit (Lease Binder) plus $20 Credit Check Fee plus I paid $15 for a bank check. My company was moving me out on Long Island to open a new office but decided to delay. I called the management office and they said the Lease Binder is not refundable even though it does not mention that anywhere on the paperwork. Ill be filing at small claims court tomorrow.

I am a tenant since 2010 and would like to share my experience with you. The accepted me with terrible credit, yes I paid extra to get in because of this which is very understandable. There has been 1 time in my stay here that I had an issue with late fees and court processes. If your late, there is a penalty. It is simple. I understand it. I have had no problem what so ever with my building manager, or the office staff the last 7 years. They had a rude person at the corporate office reception at one time, perhaps she was having a bad day. There are so many people in the world struggling financially that kindness goes very far. Since then, everyone at the main corporate office is polite and friendly. I have had a couple of maintenance issues in my apt that were addressed very quickly also. I have beautiful views of the course, wild turkeys about and it is just a picturesque place. I have also lived in Colony Park also. That too was a great experience. The only downfall, is the rent increases. Mine just went up to 80.00 more a month which will be hard on me. It may be the last year I live here because of it. $1639.00 for a one bedroom deluxe with W and D and Dishwasher. I do recommend this place to anyone who asks. It makes me sad I have to leave when the new lease is up. The prices of housing on the Island is shameful and a low median income of 48K leaves you strapped with a family.

**Stay away From this place**This apartment company is a nightmare. I have stayed at multiple apartments but this place is the worst.1. They committed me a place at Ronkonkoma - made me fill out all documents and Fedex overnight (Otherwise they wont give it to me) and all the advance payments. 5 days before my move from Boston, they informed that the apartment is not available anymore as the current resident decided to stay back for few more days. Can you imagine the professionalism here.2. I had to join my new company on a specific date, and had no time to search for a new place - they said theres a 1BHK available at Oakdale. I was trapped and had no other options so took the place.Note: This place has no facilities - no gym no pool no indoor activity area and u have to drive to get access to these facilities. (Except kids park)3. I stayed back 2 years at this place - and finally got out. Cleaned everything to my best abilities. They deducted freaking $900 from the deposit amount. Whats the expectation - you leave no trace of living in the apartment when you move out. I am so so upset.Save yourself from them and stay away...

HORRIBLE!!!! Have been renting here for a few years and it continually gets worse. Drug addicts everywhere!! Can’t even take a walk without seeing someone passing out in the road or cops raiding one of the apartments. There was even a GROWN man masterbating in the middle of the complex in broad day light and no one did anything, even when I called it in. We had mice and due to it being the weekend they said we had to wait until Monday. They accept the lowest quality of people to move in. Meanwhile, they gave us a hard time needing background checks, etc. we both work full time jobs. 90% of the community is welfare, trash that sit home all day. Not to mention the poor conditions of interiors of apartments. They also treat their tenants poorly. We reported termites on our apartment and it took a month for them to come. Wouldn’t recommend this place to my own worst enemy. The list of negative things that go on here is endless. Good luck!!

I have been a tenant at Heatherwood apartment in Holbrook for over a year. I never had an issue with Heatherwood. The lawn and apartments are immaculate. The complex that I live in is a diverse community. I am pointing this out because someone accused Heatherwood apartment of discrimination, which isnt true. They treat all tenants with the utmost respect. I will continue to rent from Heatherwood apartment until I buy a home.

STAY AWAY!!! My apt has been having bee problems for over 10days now. Everyday I come home there are bees all over the floor, sometimes even flying. And I called maintenance many times, the only thing they can do is to vacuum the bees but nobody can find out why they coming in my room. There’s definitely a hole somewhere. I couldn’t sleep in my bedroom for 10days, when I call the main office to complain, they just try to brush me off. I said I shouldn’t be paying rent for a room that is not livable, but she said I’m responsible for the rent. Well, who is responsible for the bees???? What am I paying for??? $1800 a month for coming home cleaning bees everyday??? This is not acceptable. If the maintenance is not doing anything, I’ll file a complaint to the government.Sooo, if you like to live with bees, this place is your choice.

This place has the nastiest COCKROACHES youll ever see. Management pretends to get rid of them but needs ample amount of time to do so Additionally when you call to let them know about your cockroach infestation youll be left on hold for extensive amounts of time. To make it even worse...they wont do anything about your expensive rent in your uninhabitable apartment. 2/10 live literally ANYWHERE else on Long Island and youll be much better off

Colony Park has been great place to live at. going to the main office has been a quick and easy process Maria at the front desk is always awesome and always has the information I need or tells me who to speak to and what I need to do to get a garage etc. and to get pool passes for my guests

Theres always a lady at the counter when I come and she is friendly. She keeps me up to date and assist me if I need help.

*****IMPORTANT NOTE FOR HEATHERWOOD COMMUNITIES*****I strongly urge everyone to NOT ever rent at Heatherwood communities. I am in one of their eastern long island apartment complexes now and am completely infuriated at how theyve mishandled things, and have not been pleasant whatsoever when speaking to them about issues regarding important matters.If you arrive home almost any time after 6pm, there is not a parking spot to be found for tenants. Heatherwood does not distinguish between tenants and visitors, and allows parking in first come first serve, no matter how much rent they charge you. You must either try to find a spot in another lot, far away, but many times those are full as well, resulting in you walking an extremely long distance back to your home, from wherever you wind up parking (not to mention they do an AWFUL job clearing snow from the parking lot).Last night I found the only place I could find to park, which was against the side of one of the streets, not blocking any entrance ways or hydrants. I received a large sticker, stuck on my driver-side window, telling me that I am not allowed to park there. The sticker is from their own Heatherwood security person, not from a law enforcement agency. The sticker would not peal off, leaving much of the paper and sticky residue on my window, which I had to take to a place to get removed. The Heatherwood community manager, Barbara, would not reimburse me for the labor on my car, nor did she care at all that I usually have no place to park, and offered no solution. Although I was told they would come up with a parking policy, such as stickers or assigned spots, they will not be doing that.I will be leaving Heatherwood soon, and strongly suggest no one moves in to their communities. Please pass on the information to save other people the frustration.

HiI rarely write reviews but I must warn prospective tenants about Heatherwood Management. I lived in their 568 Union Avenue location for 2 years and only had negative experiences with them. The turnover rate in the building was very high and management ONLY thinks about their bottom dollar. When I first moved in my friend was supposed to get a referral fee for referring me but they refused to pay him because my first rent payment was accidentally sent to the wrong PO Box so they did not get it in time. They charge you every time they change a light bulb. Their phone staff is rude, though I dont believe they are the actual owners. I kept my apartment in impeccable shape, and even had the super do a walk through before I left to confirm there was no damages. Yet when I received my security deposit back they had nickel and dimed me for supposed scratches on their stainless steel appliances for the amount of $800. I dont think this write up does it justice but trust me, Ive rented a handful of apartments and I am a single family landlord myself and I know when I see a greedy, selfish company. Please consider yourself warned and good luck.

Thought I was investing in a decent place to live for awhile. Came back from Florida to have my family back in one household, my son hadnt seen his father in 3 years. My fiance has a decent job with the state and I had graduated a medical billing and coding program which was a change of career from my original banking career. Of course with that, employers look for experience in the field therefore made it very difficult for me to get a job in my new field and because of our one salary made it difficult to pay on time. Now that Im so excited to have gotten that job in my new field, second day of work now they want us OUT! My 10 year hasnt completed 5th grade just a couple more weeks till his moving up day. You can imagine as any parent how can you tell your children we have no where to live. Its really sad because now with my recent employment along with my fiance salary we will be able to finally handle it. I have kept Heatherwood informed every month on our situation and have done our best. We have been still paying to the best we can and now are forced to leave with no where to go. I understand its a business and I can except a late charge but after the 10th of the month watch out the fees are astronomical. You have so much trouble trying to pay rent because of all the fees you can barely catch up. Its really a shame our neighbors are great at the lake shore road, ronkonkoma building my son has lots of children his age here to play with, it really started to feel like home and now I have to break my sons heart when I tell him we are not welcome here anymore. Know that we can afford it they take it away from us! Do they have a heart? Are they human?Wish there was something I could do. 😞

Hands down the worst place I have ever lived in. The women in the corporate offices treat people like pieces of garbage. The building I lived in not only had bed bugs, but extensive water damage. Neither issue was taken care of in a timely manor. We have holes in our walls. Leaks in our windows. There are constantly having laborers in an out of the apartment with less than 24 hours notice. They literally take no responsibility for anything at the properties and treat tents like animals. Anyone considering these apartments should think long and hard about looking elsewhere.

Very nice place but they keep raising the rent

I actually had a cockroach fall out of one of my (very clean) cabinets this morning. It is absolutely nauseating the way you are treated when calling the main office for help. The exterminator only comes on Fridays and apparently one treatment doesnt always work so if you decide to sign a lease with this crooks be prepared to live with roaches for months at a time

I love my little loft apartment; very cozy and cute. The location is beautiful and peaceful. Neighbors are very friendly and pleasant.

I live at the Heather wood complex for 2 years and never had a problem. This year they have been the worst DO NOT BE LATE ON YOUR RENT I REPEAT DO NOT BE LATE ON YOUR RENT!!! If you are late they will harass you even if it’s two weeks. I get paid twice a month so I never can pay rent on time. I get paid mid and end. I have always paid at the end of the month and it has never been an issue. I have told them and have submitted proof that I can never pay rent on the 1st. That’s the way my job pay me if I can get money earlier I definitely would. I have spoken to numerous representative about this but, they don’t care. They send you letter every day unless it’s a holiday. I told them I will pay them on the 30th, they’ve told me I am beyond late and my account pass due ?? How if it’s still in the same month ?! I have told them I would make a payment on the 30th but, yet every day they continue with the letters. I love living here but this rent thing is disgusting. If I get paid 2 a month what they want me to do?? Make money appear?! Definitely need to relax with if you are a little late. There shouldn’t be late fees, lawyer fees, and processing fees if you pay within the same month. That’s ridiculous and outrageous like your rent is already close to $2,000 and here they go with these additional fees. Smh if you do choose to live in the Heather woods please read the lease READ EVERY WORD!!!

Horrible predatory leasing agency. Management is poorly run. Different departments do not speak to one another. In house attorney actively works against you for outrageous fees. Would not recommend.

My dad a 81 year old veteran passed away after living there for 15 years. Heatherwood will not return his security for breaking his lease and are charging for another month bc he passed on the 2nd and we needed time to get his stuff out. We had questions about getting rid of the large items which none of our calls where returned. The last month he was alive we called the office to go check on him bc he wasnt answering his phone and nobody would bc they werent authorized to speak with us so we had to call the police 🙄 since they arent returning his security we left the items we couldnt carry. Now they are going to evict him bc there were items in the apt. Waisting the shefiffs time when they can work for the money they kept and move these items out themselves . Heatherwood never even offered their condolences or acknowledged his death. Heatherwood is impersonal heartless and rude! Stay away!!

I have been living here at the Oakdale Bohemia apartment complex for over three years now. They have no patience towards late fees and if you have contacted them that your late on your payment due to a situation that occurred in your family they jump quick to charge you attorney fees, late fees, and court fees. If you request for fee waiver on late fee they say they mailed to the Board of directors and waiting for reply, which means never happening. I guess at work or anywhere if anyone calls for a charge waived we gotta call the CEO to remove it. Ridiculous. Before the month rent is due its already increases and is posted on the account a month early. They say they gave you three day notice. When actually they throw the three notices at one time thru the door, which is funny. Shows sign of laziness but then they quick to charge attorney fees on account when you received no notice from attorney but instead the head of leasing. Before I moved in was told all appliances stainless and its been three years now and I keep seeing my rent go up but no stainless steel appliances, no balcony. I keep my windows closed but see bugs coming thru the AC and the window holes. People smoke infront of the doors not realizing someone next door could be allergic to cigarette smell or asthmatic. The funniest is you call to report cigarettes smoking in public property and they call your neighbors and tell them this apartment complained on you. This place doesn’t realize that someone from the town could be living here and they wouldn’t even know till they got a billion tickets. The owner Donald Patrick doesn’t care how the reviews of his properties are. Look at each Heatherwoods location bad reviews are posting. Your first few months will start of good and after that it’s downhill at their locations. I have kept the place in mint condition and always pay my dues but this place has no lenience towards the fees or anything. I myself do property management on side and know how to deal with tenants and etc and laws associated to rental within New York. Their is a saying if someone is paying their dues and is keeping your place better than how you gave them, their should be some form of courtesy towards them in times of trouble especially if they paying rent and not jipping money from you. I got this place for long term but this is last year will be living here for sure. I even asked that I want to speak to the landlord and was told I cant and landlord said not to come to him with such issues. Then my question is what kind of a landlord are you that you dont have time for the people you rent property out to. I have called so many times about rent increase, bug issue, smoking issue on premises, and about fees being assessed and nothing seems to be ever be done about it and never can speak or get in touch with landlord. All I hear from these people is pay rent that’s it. I guess these people only care about money, which explains why they have over 100 negative reviews on yelp and google. Their responses to people if anyone has ever noticed is a copy paste of the same response on each review. Maybe thats why I have only seen people who are recieving social security, housing money or divorce money stay here for more than a year and others tend to move out after living here for a year for how bad of a service they have and each year rent is increased by $50 or more and they keep changing the rent agreement to put all fingers on tenant so the landlord has no fees or nothing to worry about. Only have 5 laundry machines and 5 dryers, which are occupied 90% of the time. The machines are filled with dog or cat hair. This place does not have any amenities like gym, pool and ietc., as shown on website. It doesnt have stainless steel appliances in any of the apartments. Just a small play ground for kids. As you walk in parking lot, you can smells drugs in the area after sunset and no one does anything about it. Not a place for people that are family orientated or professional.

The first week I moved into Heatherwood Apartments at Patchogue Apt 9F I noticed the smell of second hand smoke coming through the floor vents from the down stairs apt. I complained and I was told by maintenance that it was coming through the front door. After several attempts the problem was never solved! In fact I was told that if I wanted to move out early that I would have to pay 4 mths rent or they would take me to court, even though I was not the cause of the second hand smoke.In addition the walls and floors are paper thin. I can hear the downstairs neighbor blowing his nose and talking on his cell phone at the least. I can hear normal day to day noises that I should not be able to hear if the property was properly insulated.Thirdly they use cheep flat paint that attracts dirt and that is not mark resistant. Thus you get what you pay for. Expect the worst and you might like your stay.

Too bad they dont have a minus star rating.Heatherwood House at Oakdale also know as Heatherwood House at Heroin Haven.Stay away from these theives, they will take your life for sure!! They must be getting paid under the table.Tell you why. There paperwork states what sort of breeds of dogs are allowed and disallowed.One breed is a Pit, personally I think Pits get bad raps and they are super sweet.However HH at Heroin Haven states Pits are not a breed allowed however there is a tenant living there that has a Pit .I have an Support dog 8lbs and had a huge issue .I called the Town of Islip and was told that its up to the property manager.So then why can certain tenants have PIts and other cant.Be careful they have huge playground now and you definitely dont want your kids running around especially with disallowed breeds .And listen to the owners dont even respond to me I could care less about what you have to say or comment.You are just a big greedy conglomerate, remember Absolute power corrupts absolutely .You start with smiles on your faces and take peoples hard earned money and then your horns grow out of your head .

My husband and I were looking for a rental. We made an appointment with the leasing office a week in advance. We took the morning off from work and it took us an hour to get there. When we went to the leasing office, there were 3 other people waiting for the agent, but guess what?!?! The office was closed. After waiting for 40!!! Minutes nobody showed up. Very disrespectfull, and rude. I tried to contact the Heatherwod community numerous times while we were waiting, nobody picked up the phone. Nobody even returned our phone. After reading all the other reviews I am actually glad we didnt get to rent an apartment from this community.

If you looking for apartment with the convenience of being close to stores & transportation, where grounds are kept up, friendly neighbors, helpful & pleasant staff, then you found the right place at Heatherwood!

I do not recommend living in 27 on 27th or any Heatherwood-managed property!!!!Its to the point where the frustration with the bad management has become the conversation icebreaker among the tenants. There are constantly maintenance issues, such as a gas leak that went ignored despite tenant complaints that eventually lead to a 5-day heat/hot water/gas shutdown, elevator(s) being out repeatedly (including for a month, and right now a week), and boiler issues where management didnt even tell us the boiler was out until we asked why our unit was blowing cold air in a blizzard.It should really tell you something that there is a mass exodus of people leaving because of Heatherwoods treatment of them and because Heatherwood still wants to raise rents hundreds per month for renewals despite their failure to provide their end of the lease obligations.Management also refuses to provide timely updates on serious maintenance issues, even upon request. I have even been hung up on the phone by management when I tried to express concerns after not receiving replies to emails.

My fiancé and I have been with Heatherwood for 3 years and I would advise anyone trying to rent from here to turn in the other direction and RUN. Between the maintenance people and the management this place is poorly ran. They are extremely rude and nasty and when something needs to get done in the apartment its like pulling teeth. I had a leak in my ceiling from the upstairs apartment and I came home and my apartment was flooded. They didnt come till the next day when I had calld the regular maintenance and the emergency one. Then i called the management team to speak with them about this and they said they dont know what they expect them to do. I asked to speak with someone above them and they said I cant actually speak with anyon I have to write a letter. So that was the final straw is this our last lease and will be buying a house come june

They refuse to help me in anyway, anybody I try to talk to now wont even answer me. They stopped answering me when I asked for a copy of my lease because they never sent it to me. Money hungry company.

By far the worst place to live was late on rent a few times and they charge you outrageous legal fees even if your a week late on top of late fee gave a 30 day notice moved out of state they took 2 months to return my security and when I finally received my security they took $1350 out of $1821 $1200 for a carpet that had minor damage to it over my 3 years of living there sent me a security deposit of $443 and check was no good when I deposited it then Keisha Taylor sends me a email regarding the check saying I had to let them know what state I was depositing the check when they knowingly sent the check to me out of state

I would not live anywhere else.

Expensive Apartment With no Upgraded Amentities..The appliances are very old and they replace it..Not worth the money we are paying.Bad customer service and rude behaviour

If I could give negative 0 stars I would the worse customer service between maintenance and customer service staff they are horrible most racist discusting people the worst, they would let an 68 year old women sit outside for 2 hours in the freezing cold for a policy they make or break at there convenience worst place black people, Spanish people stay away from this place their horrible
