Vicky is the stylist who cut my hair, she was knowledgeable, nice, and well spoken and I’d definitely go back to this salon and recommend it to anyone looking.

I was obviously disappointed that I have an upcoming event and could not get a full set of highlights and low lights today but I did appreciate the way they handled the situation. Essentially Alyssa wasn’t comfortable the colors I chose would come out the way I wanted for nearly $300 I was about to spend. While some salons would leave it at that or waste your money, Alyssa offered to apply a toner to cool down my current color. I don’t think it worked much but the effort and time to do it, shampoo, dry and all complimentary showed me I was in a professional salon. As I walked out she handed me a gift. I appreciated the experience and it really showed they were more concerned I wouldn’t be happy than not willing to spend time trying to make me happy. For this I will return to try again and add an extra tip for Alyssa.

First time going there today to get my haircut and eyebrow done. It’s very convenient for me cos I live in the same building. They did a great job just getting everything done in a timely manner. There was a little glitch with my reservation but it’s not a big deal for me personally. However, they really went above and beyond with their service and tried their absolute best to guarantee a great experience. If you are looking for a salon that’s tidy, clean and professional with customised service, look no further. I would recommend it to anyone with a heartbeat and my husband said thank you guy for taking care of the situation and we are satisfied and surprised. Thanks everyone I have encountered today for making it a special day for us too.

Great hair cut! Such a pretty place!

Ill start off with the positives:Super friendly staff.Got my hair cut and styled and it turned out the way I wanted. No complaints there at all... So far.NOW FOR THE NEGATIVES:Scheduled online for a Monday appointment. The system glitched and set me up for the wrong date despite receiving multiple confirmations with the date and time i chose. I arrived and this is when i found out about the error. I dont blame the staff at all for this. I rescheduled for the same day.Here is where things went down hill. The nail tech was really friendly but... BUUUUUT I wanted acrylic extensions and she said she prefers to do gel. I thought this was what I want not what she wants? I was forced to get gel. Showed her how long i wanted the nails. I would have said something but i thought she was still trimming and shaping. WRONG! she started painting and I just didnt have the heart to make her stop and trim them more. Im not familiar with the process of manicures like this. She didnt ask if the length was ok before she started to paint. This is why i thought she wasnt done.Once I got outside in natural light i noticed the big flaws. On my left hand the paint was so lumpy and one nail was really crooked and misshaped. Really ugly. Paid $80 for ugly nails. took forever as well. almost 3 hours.Here is the big kicker:Only had them for 4 days and they are already broken. Ring finger nail cracked near the bed of the nail and broke off. i have half a nail. Had to file and clip them down last night because the length was unbearable.FYI: I protected my hands with gloves to protect them from water. That doesnt preserve them. I thought id have them for at least 2 weeks. NOPE!This is why I wanted acrylic. I told her this.If you get your nails done here... beware! Maybe ask for someone who has more experience. Im sure other techs do a better job.Again, I recommend them for hair cuts. Not for nails. If my nails had been done better and lasted more than 4 days I would give 5 stars.

Overall I enjoyed the experience. The staff was nice, warm and inviting :). I also enjoyed the service, they did a great job on me and my friends mani pedis. My only complaint was how high the prices were. $180 for 2 mani pedis to me seemed high, than again I dont get em often so I wouldnt know for sure. All in 4/5 because of the price.

I went to the downtown location today for a brow wax and had a great experience. I really appreciate the extra levels of safety and sanitation. Quick temperature check and I was on my way to looking like a real person again. Thank you for having people wear masks, keeping everything clean, and still providing a great experience!

I have been going to Square One for about five years and have never had a bad experience. The customer service is top notch as are the services. Alyssa R. is amazing for cut and color - she asks questions about your likes and dislikes, listens carefully, and makes excellent suggestions... this is not even to mention the amazing shampoo and scalp massage! John deserves to be singled out for his therapeutic and relaxing massages. I leave feeling like a different person! I have had massages in cities all over the country, and his are among the best. Ive experienced consistently great service at Square One, from facials to waxes to mani/pedis to the welcoming front desk staff. All are skilled employees who are obviously well trained and attentive to the needs of their clients. Highly recommend!

I have been here twice, and received service from Kate W both times. First of all, the service is warm and welcoming the minute you walk in the door. Any anxiety or concerns you might have about your services is immediately put to rest. Kate in particular is amazing. She talks you through where you are now, how you feel about trends, and presents you with pictures of potential styles. She very much encourages you to bring photos, inspiration items, colors, and more. She is the only stylist who has practically read my mind when it comes to my hair. I cant trust anyone else to provide the amazing skill, knowledge, and talent with personal treatment!!

I flew to Columbus for the most important event of my career where I was being recognized for a large donation my company was making to fund a help center for children in South America. I expressed the importance of the event and the importance of looking 100%. I explained price wasn’t the issue, I needed a stylist who could give me a formal style that would ensure I looked the part. The atmosphere was nice as was the stylist. From the beginning it was apparent she was struggling. My style was simple and should have taken minimal time. It took over an hour and half and only looked mediocre. The most disappointing part is my hair style fell out before I even made it to the event. I have pictures hugging the CEO of the company with my hair fallen down in the back. It was so embarrassing and took away my confidence in my most proud moment. For a $90 simple style I’m so disappointed.

I have been going here for a few years now and love the salon! The location is great and I love the products that they offer. I have been seeing Ella who I really loved- she has a vision for her clients but still listens to feedback - what you want. Because of her schedule change - I had to work with another stylist this past weekend - Eve - she was just as great! I really loved her fresh ideas and she took the time to help me with ideas for my upcoming wedding so we could start to prepare my hair for the look I want to achieve. They are both great stylists- and I am happy that they have hours that make it easy for someone who works regular hours during the week to still come in.

Colby is AMAZING!I moved from Cleveland to Columbus in August and have been traveling back to Cleveland (4 hours total) to my previous hair stylist as I have been unable to find a hair stylist in Columbus. Well, my original hair stylist botched my hair this last time and couldnt get me in to fix it. Desperate to find someone to touch up the mess, I made an appointment with Colby.Colby sympathized with me, and he squeezed me in for the very next day. Colby took the time to understand what I truly wanted, and not only did Colby make my hair look so much better, but he also gave me the look I originally wanted. I was shocked! I didnt think my hair was salvageable to get the look I still wanted. I didnt go in expecting my hair to look so phenomenal. It was gorgeous. I have never left a salon being so in love with my hair. I also have never hugged a hair stylist before, but I about tackled him I was so happy - I couldnt help leaving grinning from ear to ear, being so confident with my hair. Colby is 100% my new hair stylist and I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a new stylist =]

Don’t get your nails done here. The experience was great until the end. My nail tech was phenomenal, but there are no drying stations in the salon so I felt a bit rushed at the end.They have a fast drying spray they put on them, but my nails were still wet because the top coat had been applied less than a minute before I was escorted to the counter to pay. One hand was immediately ruined getting out my wallet. Then I had to put my coat on. By the time I got to my hotel room only 2 blocks away all but 3 nails were ruined. Some of them also bubbled during the drying process. That’s over $60 (removing gels, regular non-gel manicure, and 20% tip) down the drain.

Best haircut experience I’ve ever had... I had a stylist named Ella and she was beyond perfect. She was reassuring, funny, professional... I had no anxiety what so ever being in her obviously capable hands. I was so worried about finding a salon in Columbus as I’ve just moved here but I can already tell I won’t go anywhere else.

Talk about life changing! I ALWAYS have a great experience here. Everyone is very nice and the atmosphere is very relaxing. As for my stylist, he is an amazing human being. I got a great cut and since Im not great at styling he explains how to make it look great every single day. Im so happy with my whole experience. Go see Erik Wells if you want a great stylist!

Dee was magnificent!! I was a walk-in needing some color care. Dee made suggestions, but wasnt pushy in them. I took them and the results are beautiful! The color is just so EVEN and pretty. She even gave me a card with all the color information to use in the future as Im not from the area. Also, shes awesome.

I went here for the first time to get a haircut. I saw the good reviews on Yelp and they had an open appointment time the day I wanted to go.They have a nice waiting area and really amazing tea. Like, some of the best tasting tea Ive ever had.I thought my stylist, Tara, did a good job and she seemed to listen to what I wanted. It was a pretty relaxing experience.I liked how she curled my hair at the end and showed me how to curl it myself. I wish she wouldve been a bit more chatty but I understand that it was late in the day and perhaps she was tired.I thought the service was a bit expensive and the products were definitely expensive ($11 for a 2oz travel size bottle)

Recently moved here from the west coast, and this is probably the best Aveda salon I have ever been to! Its a full-service salon, so I was able to add-on a pedicure before my hair appointment all in the same space. Im looking forward to coming here regularly and seeing the same hair stylist. She seemed very knowledgeable in curly hair, which is much better than having someone with pin-straight hair try to tell you to brush your curls out (no thanks!). Great atmosphere, and the nicest touch was them adding a few more minutes to my parking meter so I didnt have to run out the snow with wet hair to take care of it! Definitely coming back as a regular!

I love my nails I have been really hard on them for the past two weeks and if my nails didnt grow I wouldnt have to change the polish. They use a great protein bond nail primer to help the gel stay on longer! It has also helped to keep my natural nails growing strong and healthy under the gel because they dont take a drill to them and mess up the natural nail! getting my nails done again and then my toes tomorrow!

I had Square One do all the hair and make-up for my wedding. They are amazing!!! I gave a picture of what I wanted my hair to look like to Dee and she made it look even better. My make-up was impeccable. All the girls hair and make-up looked beautiful!They also have a bridal suite which was wonderful. We brought in champagne and breakfast and had a separate place to eat and hangout.I HIGHLY recommend Square One for your wedding!!!

I often get my hair cut while I am on the road for business. And Im not a supercut skins of person... So I have a decent sample size to draw from... Hands down the best haircut I have ever had. Ella spent almost an hour on a standard cut... Not a standard cut though, looks amazing... But to top it off. Scalp massage, shoulder massage, facial with steamed towel, shampoo and another head massage, and styled... Part of the cut.. I kid you not. Beyond that, not awkward, professional, sweet girl. Recommended to anyone. Might be driving across Ohio for a haircut for the foreseeable future.

Ella was very kind and knowledgeable and asked me for specifics with my haircut. She also had a good eye for seeing where my hair was too thick and needed to be thinned out. She was very meticulous and very friendly. All in all, she knows her stuff and shes fantastic talent. I cant wait until my next haircut.

Ive been going for about a year and have never had less than an excellent experience. The ladies who greet you are always friendly and professional and Ella (my stylist) is the absolute best! Ellas knocked my haircuts out of the park every time. Not only that, shes extremely friendly and personable. I recommend this salon to friends and/or strangers regularly. Also, I love Aveda products (what drew me to this salon in the first place), but Ive never been pressured to purchase anything while there. Love the salon, love the vibe, love the people. Walked in, everyone is pleasant, brought my mother in for mani-pedi. $108 yikes.. her nails were horrific... apparently they were not dry! Can’t let a elderly person leave w wet nails! Nails weren’t trimmed down or cleaned underneath as requested. This type of task requires a meticulous attention to detail. The nail tech is a nice young lady but needs to know that her representation at stake doing work like this.

If you’re looking for an extremely talented and consistent artist, I highly recommend Eve. I’ve worked with her since I started going to this salon and haven’t once been let down by her! She’s intuitive to your hair type and really takes the time to make things right.

I called on a Saturday morning to book an afternoon pedicure appointment with my mom on the same day. They were busy but had enough time for us. Gorgeous salon, friendly workers and a wonderful pedicure

This place was great! I came in for some truly last minute Halloween nails and my nail artist did a great job. I dont have a great sense of relative pricing, but it seemed as expensive as I would expect. And its Aveda so its a lot of stuff that smells great and brags about being organic (a deselector for me, but I know lots of people like that kind of thing).

I was lucky enough to have Chelsea at Square One do a sweeping up-do for my wedding day. She was amazing and was able to recreate a look from all of the Pinterest pictures I showed her. She was very professional and has a great energy - lots of fun and easy to talk to! My bridesmaids were also incredibly pleased with both their blow-outs and up-dos. It was ideal for a Westin wedding since the salon is just around the corner. They also gave us a room to ourselves for the morning to set up breakfast and mimosas. We loved it!

I am not a huge fan chain salons but this place has been fantastic. After getting a horrible haircut at another business, Chelsea has saved the day. Ive been coming here for years and Ive had almost every service they offer - hair, mani, pedi, facial and massage. My experience has always been great and the one time I had a bad experience they more than made it right! Highly recommend John for massage!

The environment was so welcoming and friendly especially for my first time visiting! My concern now are the nails. At first glance yesterday they looked good but I was also very tired. After inspecting then again today (1 day later) they look so amateur as if I did them myself. Now I have not gotten my nails done professionally in years due to bad experiences and have been doing them myself, (I could of done better with no experience). The polish looks like Ive had it on for a week, there are lumps on my gel overlay due to the gel extension being really thick, most of the nails are not even, and you can see my real nails on some of them even though I have an extension over them because there wasnt complete coverage. The tech was on a time restriction which I understand but I also believe she did not put forth her best effort or maybe this was her best. For the amount I paid there should have been better quality service.

I have been here for the hair cut today by rachel @ Columbus downtown salon and I am completely disappointed with the haircut because she did not give the output which I wanted and she cut my hair to very short than I asked her to cut.Never again I’m going to visit this salon again. I love my hair before when there is no haircut she didn’t even do a proper haircut 💇

I’ve been going to Square One Salon for 6 months for hair color, cut, and brow waxing. New in town, I wasn’t sure where to go. I decided to visit Square One because Aveda is my favorite. This salon is very well run. The atmosphere (feels like something from a Pinterest inspiration board) always puts me at ease. Rachel is simply the best. I know I’m in good hands when I sit in her chair. Not only does she fix up my hair, but I feel like I’m chatting with a friend, which means a lot. My advice? Trust Aveda. Trust Square One. Visit Rachel.

Lets put it this way. I came for the haircut, I am coming back for the pampering. Fantastic service, knowledgeable and skilled stylists. I needed a haircut for an interview, and I got the job. Enough said.

My absolute favorite hair salon! Ive gone here for 2 years so far and have had nothing but 5-star experiences. The stylists really care about their customers, and can work miracles on damaged and janky hair. My first experience was after getting a horrifying cut from a bargain hair cutting place. I had about 70000 different layers of boxed dye color in my hair. They made me look magnificent in about 2 hours. Mini facials and arms massages are added bonuses to the experience.

I really enjoyed my hair cut and style at Square One in Columbus and Im very picky. Ive been through three stylists this year because I havent been satisfied with the service. But all my expectations were met with my stylist Bailey. I explained the style I wanted and requested she didnt use a razor to give it texture and she completely agreed and could understand why I didnt like my previous stylists since thats what they had done. She paid very close attention to detail, she even mentioned that one side of my hair was a half inch shorter than the other. Im glad she got me straightened out!The ambiance there is also very chic and they have the signature Aveda products and complimentary mini facials that you would expect at any Aveda salon. I would go there again.

Best talent and service. If your lookin for great clips you’ll be disappointed by the quality cut, the attention and the better value based on cost per compliment.

I recently moved to Columbus from San Francisco. I see Alyssa for hair on 4th St. and Meagan for nails and facials. I cant say how pleased I am with services at this location I will eventually be returning to San Francisco (2 years) but I have to say that I will really miss Square One. A friend referred me to this salon and I have to say that I am EXTREMELY satisfied!

Ron Keffer knows how to cut mens hair, seriously. He always, always takes his time, and even when hes technically in a hurry, he doesnt hurry. Ive had my hair cut by him at least thirty times, and literally every single time its been A+. Its amazing. And, my hair is really hard to cut, and get right. Left in other barbers hands Ive left feel angry/depressed. But, Ron always gets it right. He listens, and doesnt forget.

The worst pedicure I have ever had outside of Marysville Walmart. First, when I called I was given the price of $36 so I scheduled 2 appointments which turned out to be the price for a manicure. Then both pedicures turned out AWFUL! The salt from the salt scrub wasn’t rubbed off my legs and the French tips were uneven, not even close to semicircles and one of my nails was ground to a literal point. To add insult to injury I was charged $88 (plus $5 for the disastrous tips) for both not $72 as promised on the phone. The girl actually told me that French tips were the worst for her and thanks for letting her practice on me. Enjoy the fresh new hell on my toes!
