Edit 7/7: We did not use Lawn Doctor for reasons mentioned below, however Scott the owner reached out to us directly and explained the situation. I am appreciative of the response, and while we are still looking for a good company to help us out with our project, am updating this review because his follow-up was professional. We all have bad days from time to time, and I understand that and can relate.Full disclosure, my wife and I know that our lawn is not in good shape at all and needs re-done. Having moved in just recently, we are well aware of this and were when we bought the home...we were just looking for opinions and quotes from someone we thought could help us speed up the process of getting our lawn to where it needed to be.The owner came over to look at the lawn. I had a meeting but came out after he had a look, and confirmed with him that I thought it would need a lot of work...and when we received a notice back 1 week later from his team, the comments said Lawn is a total mess. Not a job I would be interested in. -- were OK with the fact that hes not interested in it, but that commentary is un-necessary. Were trying to get our lawn in shape and know its a challenge. Dont put it down. Based on this experience, even when we get our lawn to where its maintenance only, we wont be giving them our business.Id recommend looking elsewhere to support someone with a more professional demeanor.

We have used Lawn Doctor for our own home, as well as, a number of our rental properties. The office staff is incredibly professional and friendly. The technicians that service the lawns are very professional and knowledgeable about the service provided. We have used Lawn Doctor for a number of years and will continue to do so!

Ok. I’m a bit winded here, so i’m just going to summarize at the beginning the best I can. Please look at the before and after photos. Our lawn was almost 50% dirt when we started and what lawn we did have was in very poor shape. It’s a night and day difference from last year. We went all-in on services and it was well worth the costs to have professionals like Lawn Doctor take care of it for us! Absolutely recommend it! 10 of 10.I had written a longer review, but Google made me truncate it a bit.Our ExperienceOur lawn had never been great since we moved into our house almost a decade ago in the northern part of Columbus. We had a big maple in the back that provided an abundance of shade along with a couple of elm trees on our fence line with our neighbor that provided even more shade. Eventually we were left with mostly just dirt and weeds in our backyard. Hard, cracked, and very packed soil.Over the years we tried to treat and seed our lawn on our own, but nothing ever really took hold. In addition to the Maple, we also had two big pine trees. In the spring of 2019 we had the pine trees removed (redbud planted nearby), our maple and neighbor’s elm tree trimmed to provide a little more light to our lawn. After the removal of the pine trees we were left with quite a bit of extra ‘dirt’ for a lawn.Overwhelmed with the condition of the lawn, the prospect of the personal efforts (sweat and tears) to do it ourselves, and the cost to tackle this on our own summed up together was something we just did not want to try again. So we decided to seek some professional help. We had heard about Lawn Doctor’s ‘power seeding’ and their guarantee. We did a little research and decided to go with Lawn Doctor’s services. We also essentially went all in on services, no half measures here. Not something I usually do, but me and my family were tired of not being able to enjoy our property.It was late September when we got the service, we got full power seed service, aeration, soil testing. They did find one thing related to the soil testing that needed addressed - and we subscribed to that treatment. Since much of our property was in bad shape already the aeration and what seemed like constant watering did make it a bit of a sloppy mess for a while - but it really paid off. Do as you’re asked and water your lawn.With that in mind, plan for additional water costs in your budget. This I didn’t think of until afterwards - we paid a little more than double in our water bill than usual. But again, it was well worth it.Winter comes and goes and spring gets here, the lawn is looking really good. I would say over 95% of my lawn took to the treatment.One thing I hadn’t planned on was pest control. We’ve always had horrible amounts of mosquitoes and honestly didn’t think the pest treatment would do much given how many of them we have every year. Given the quality of service and the fact our expectations were exceeded already, we agreed to the service. The lawn treatment for it was over a month ago and we’ve only seen a few mosquitoes - not what would seem like swarms years before. I’m still not sure how long this treatment will last - we may look into multiple treatments over the summer/fall if that’s possible or even needed. Time will tell.The unique part of this experience is oddly the Covid pandemic. Now we’re staying home and avoiding going out - spending a lot of quality time with our family on our property. Thinking back, we’re very glad we made the decision we did to go ahead with Lawn Doctors services. It is a night and day kind of difference in our case. I would absolutely recommend their services. They have more than exceeded my family’s expectations. Please look at our before and after photos for yourself.

Service is ok for the dollar amount. Majority of yard looks great. But wish they would pay more attention to edges or borders. Such as around my fence & deck. The machine they use, doesn’t get close enough. So I end up doing that. When I’ve asked the workers to get closer, I’ve been told, they would have to use a different sprayer. 🤷🏼‍♀️

WOW - went with Lawn Doctor this year, we havent had dandelions for years with other services prior...when what to my wandering eyes do appear DANDELIONS...not starting out very well - this evaluation will be updated in the future - UPDATE they have reached out to me to address my concerns, which is much more than my previous providers - moved to a 4 star (a friend once told me no one should get a 5 because there is always room for improvement no matter how good, and I like this thought)...tech showed up today (Alex good guy) expressed a desire for us to be happy with the service and I felt like he meant it, retreated affected areas - Customer Service the way it should be

It is an excellent service. They committed to provide good result after a year. But Im wondering that I see the drastic changes with in 7 months of period. They did awesome job, even though I used to mowing, they provided the advise for mowing. I recommend my friends for lawn care. they are very professional and strict to their commitment. Response from Lawn doctor is also awesome. if you dont know chilly thing, they will explain you everything. Its more than worth the money I spend for their service. We have used Lawn Doctor for a year now and have a great lawn! They have reseeded twice with their seeding machine- it really does a great job in getting the seed into the soil. I appreciate the ability to speak directly with Robyn in the local office. She is able to answer my questions directly or get me an answer quickly. They stick to a schedule and notify me when they are coming. Employees are professionals and knowledgeable about turf grass and its problems.Would definitely recommend Lawn Doctor to anyone looking for a dependable, professional lawn care service.

Our front yard needed some major help. We didnt get the greatest quality of sod when we built our home. Our front yard had more brown than green spots. It was in pretty bad shape. We used the lawn doctor to aerate and seed our yard this past September. The results have exceeded my expectations. In less than a week, our yard is noticeably greener and healthier! We have had several neighbors ask us what we did to get our yard looking so good. I cant believe the results we have in such a short amount of time. I wish i remembered to take before photos because honestly the difference is unbelievable! If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Lawn doctor gets my highest recommendation.

Great price and good service

This is the third lawn service we have used since moving to Westerville in 2015. By far, their lawn treatment has been the best in terms of keeping weeds from taking over my lawn. I say this as someone who wants the lawn to look good. I do not have an underground sprinkler system nor do a need my lawn to be the best looking on the block but I do want it to look well maintained. They are also responsive to any concerns and upfront about all the costs. If you are looking for a solid lawn company check these guys out.

Lawn Doctor of Columbus is a company where you can partner with and find the best solution for your lawn. They wont treat you like your just a number. They look for the right solution geared towards specific lawn conditions for you. They treat a series of lawn issues and find realistic solutions that sure do pay off in the long run. After my first treatment, weeds started dying off and I saw a greener, happier lawn.

My lawn was over ran with weeds. It looked tired and embrassing. I tried the off the self weed killer. That only turned the weeds white but didnt kill it. The guy who mows my yard suggested Lawn Dr. What a difference in month. The Lawn Dr. applied the weed and feed solution. The weeds were gone in a week and half. My grass looks fresh and healthy Also, I signed up for the soil analysis. The result was I had too much calcium in my soil. They applied yesterday sulfur to balance the calcium. I expect my lawn to look better than it does now. The guy who mows my said it looks just as good as the my neighbor who maintenance his yard daily.

Wanted an organic lawn think we are definitely getting there just started last year. My grass is very green now and it is just March. The response time when you call is very good.Have no problems whatsoever.Recommend the company.

When we bought our current house, the prior owners had done NOTHING to the yard since the house was built in 1999. Add to that... the builder stripped and sold all the topsoil before building the houses in the community. Needless to say, we had pretty much nothing but weeds on clay and rocks. I tried 2 or 3 other companies but could see no progress. We started using Lawn Doctor about 4 years ago. After the first year, the lawn was looking much better and the grass was starting to choke out the weeds. After the second year, we had a full grassy lawn and few weeds. It has consistently improved year to year. Lawn Doctor has done a great job at both of our properties, and I highly recommend them.

Reliable and professional in all areas including back office stuff. The grass always looks good and is almost weed free. Only problem is that it grows too fast. I get multiple offers from competitors each year and have never been really tempted to change.

Lawn Doctor has improved our long-neglected lawn 100% in just one year. I appreciate the fact that they notify us when they will be here so we can keep our dog inside. Its too soon to be certain, but I have seen no substantive improvement in my lawn quality thus far. Instead, I have been encouraged to purchase other services from them in addition to the lawn care package I have already paid for. Time will tell whether I will retain them next year.

Lawn Doctor reseeded both front and back yards last year. The back yard looked great at the end of summer but the front yard grass was spotty. In the fall they reseeded the front after killing noxious grasses present and seed sprouting was negligible. They came out again this spring and reseeded again at no additional charge. This time the yard is looking great. I switched my lawn service to Lawn Doctor several years ago and have been very satisfied with their service offerings and lawn treatments.

I have been using this company for about 1.5 years now. I was with another lawn company that was horrible and switched to Lawn Doctor late in the season last year. Since then, my lawn has turned around like never before! It is nothing like last year when my lawn was full of weeds. Now granted, there are some areas that are still needing TLC, but I know for a full lawn restoration it can take a couple seasons. However, I have one of the best lawns on my block. I am planning on sticking with this company as long as I can!

We used to use an independent lawn care company before that we unfortunately found out later did not have the consistency and standards that we expected. Had Lawn Doctor for 2 years. The 1st year we had no problems and they were very attentive to our lawn. The 2nd year (current) was a huge disappointment. Our yard had numerous issues with crabgrass, weeds, etc...Also a fence which makes the back yard accessible, was broken by a Lawn Doctor employee and was never fixed after repeated requests and conversations between the Lawn Doctor leadership stating that it would be fixed. It took over 6 months-(from May to November) for them to tell me that it couldnt be fixed but that they would complete an aeration to make up the fence not being fixed. The aeration was never done as well. We will be finding another lawn service.

The person who did my lawn lied about doing the full job. When i called them back and questioned them about it they will not return my phone calls. Beware make sure that they are actually doing your yard!

My question is why was my yard done with a man waliking, but my neighbor had a guy on a machine?

The lawn appearance in front has improved and is looking reasonably good. The back yard not so much.A problem arose with Fall aeration ... the service agents ignored instructions where our underground dog electronic fence wire was located and this caused a breach in the line. Fortunately it was only a single breach ... repair could have been much more expensive, based on where they staked out their idea of where the line ran around the house. Getting reimbursed by Lawn Doctor for the repair was a bit of a hassle but in the end a check was received.

I was very pleased with the Lawn Doctor. I have never had a service at my home and my lawn showed it. I tried for 20 years to do the Scotts do it yourself program with a spreader and missed applications. Saw lines in my yard and just could not kill the chick weed.Since I met Pam at the Home and Garden Show in the spring and signing up for the service I have been extremely pleased.I did not get the airiation on the first sign-up but finally decided to do it and glad I did. I now will put down grass seed this winter as the snow flys and melts and hope next year I will see new grass growing in the spring.I will use them again and I recommend that all my friends try this service.See you in the Spring!
